The freshly made naan is awesome and the biryani with lamb was so delicious. It had been a long time since I was here but the place is still run by the same nice people and they still serve such generous portions :)

Excellent tasting food!!! We loved the Chicken Tikka Masala. The chicken was very tender and the medium spicy sauce was perfect. The naan was fresh and soft. This small take out style restaurant even serves basic wine and Indian beer. The prices are excellent for the quality. I will be back and would definitely recommend to others for a great meal with little time. We ordered off the menu, not the buffet for this first visit. Enjoy like we did!

The chicken tikka masala is great, but by far the coolest part is the guy making the naan bread by hand!

I love the malai kofta and the tandoori chicken is fantastic. I have been going here for years! It is truly a family business and I love supporting that.

I was delightfully surprised, the food is delicious, and very economical. My new favorite Indian café.

Price $ Quality: 3 stars Service: 3 stars Value: 3 stars Portions: small Good for a quick fix if you are hungry and craving Indian food. Portions are small, as they fill your plate with a lot of rice. Plus side is that they have a large selection on their menu.

I ate at Tandoor for the first time and I really liked the food. I ordered the chicken curry and it came with garlic naan bread. The chicken curry was really good. I’m not a fan of spicy so I got it mild. It had a home cooked style which made it even better. The garlic naan bread was the highlight of the dish for me. I’m officially a naan bread fan.

They had me at their naan bread. The garlic naan bread is amazing. A must have along with their other variety of goods. They have such a friendly staff as well. Great service and great food is what we always look for in a place where we will continue to go to when we crave this type of cuisine.

this place is a JOKE. A buddy and I regrettably went there for the dinner buffet. Basically, the food tasted awful and nothing like better indian places i’ve been to, the meat used in one of the dishes was low quality, and the tandoor chicken was very dry. To add insult to injury, the plates were styrofoam and the utensils plastic. Not appropriate for the nature of the food, in my opinion. Ultimately this place was terrible because of how bad the food was. We literally watched a couple guys come in, pay for the buffet, check the food out, and walk next door to «The Works» to buy a burger. Honestly, I should have done that too. Save your money. Go anywhere else.

Came with the wife tonight and had the lamb curry and chicken vindaloo combos with a side of veggie samosas. The lamb curry had good rich flavor and the lamb was moist and tender. The chicken vindaloo had equally good flavor and the chicken couldn’t have been more tender, delicious. The samosas were also crispy and savory. Finally the naan was warm, fresh, and airy/fluffy. The food was prepared lightning fast with friendly service(greeted on the way in and out). Also a good amount of food for the price. I will definitely return for more(really want to try the all you can eat weekend buffet).

Horrible excuse for an Indian restaurant. Chicken was cooked overnight as you can taste it. Never going back again and I wouldn’t recommend anyone doing so. Unhygienic and I was praying that I don’t end up with food poisoning afterwards. The guys handled money with all its germs and went on to prepare our meal without washing his hands. Naan was ok I’ve tasted better.

I love Tandoor. I’ve never asked, but I’m pretty sure it’s family-owned and it feels extremely authentic. The people working there are always nice and I have never had a bad experience here! The food is GREAT! And cheap, too! I love coming here for a cheap meal whenever I can. Personally, I think they serve the best naan bread I have ever tasted! The fries are amazing and homemade as well! The lentils are always good, and every single curry-based dish I have ever tried has been delicious. The raita is very good as well. The only thing that isn’t great on its own is the rice, but with some curry or lentils it is very good too! I had never really had Indian food before I started coming to Tandoor, and now I absolutely love it. I make an effort to drive out to Tandoor to eat from Chula Vista occasionally. The bottom line is try this place! I’m are you will love it if you have respect for homemade authentic Indian food! Don’t forget to try the Naan! It’s so good.

Tandoor is not only delicious, it’s consistently delicious. I’ve been eating here for years and have never had a bad experience. I feel guilty about not posting about Tandoor sooner. The garlic naan is everything.

Came in here for lunch the other day. I thought this was a solid 3 star place, the food was pretty good but I’ve definitely had better Indian fare. I got the tandoor chicken with rice, naan, vegetable samosa’s and their yogurt dish. Everything was good, samosa’s were great and the naan was fresh. As another reviewer pointed out the women running the restaurant are extremely friendly. I’d definitely eat here again, probably during their Sunday buffet.

Tandoor is a small family-owned business tucked away in the same plaza as CVS and Ralphs in Mission Valley. As you walk in, don’t be alarmed by the unassuming appearance. It’s a hole in the wall with much to offer! You can choose to have your curries mild, medium, or extra spicy if you like it hot. If you’re an indecisive person when faced with many appetizing options(as I am), go for their combo option where you get 2 curries, rice, naan, & lentil soup. My favorites here are the palak paneer(spinach curry) and chicken tikka masala. I also lovesss their lentil soup — very warm and comforting. You can also come in Sunday starting at 11am for their AYCE brunch! $ 10/person with unlimited naan. Yum!

It was Expensive for the food provided, very little chicken and it was dry. I would not go back as the food was very blunt.

Hats off to this new find in my neighborhood. Without a reservation, I stumbled in as a solo diner on a Friday night… a huge no-no in many establishments, not an eyelash batted, no sagging shoulders, just a welcoming hostess and pleasant and helpful servers who seemed delighted to perform their roles in this dining experience. I couldn’t recite back all the items I had as I sought recommendations, other than the Butter Chicken. That will be am every visit kinda thing, trust me and try it. This Indian restaurant has earned the praise that I’ve heard on the street.

This is the definition of a good, fast food style Indian place. Lamb vindaloo was good, it was spicy and tasty. Chicken tikka masala was bland when compared to a really good tikka masala. Wasn’t very impressed. Rice, lentils and naan bread are included with the food. Lentils were nothing special and rice was average. Naan bread was also decent. Ordered extra garlic naan and that was also decent. The speed of service was really fast and price was really good. Would visit again if in real need of vindaloo.

Tandoori Chicken — Poor, tasteless Naan — OK Chicken Makhni — Average Rice — Hmmm Samosa — Pathetic The plates and utensils are not proper(Paper and plastic). No proper napkins either. Dining area is small and average. Service is clumsy. Sub par.

Small restaurant with good food and good prices. The service is friendly and fast. I ordered my food and it was ready within minutes and steaming hot. This is a little Indian fast food stop. I randomly stopped by here since I was in the area. Overall the place was quick. That was what I liked and the food tasted good. I had a mix plate that had rice, naan bread, a chicken dish and lentils. I think that the price was a little over $ 10.00 The seating is limited inside. I believe that there were a few tables outside in case you wanted to eat your meal outside. There was a line of people however the staff kept the line moving along. Overall not a bad place.
