First time trying this place 1÷31÷16 for lunch because bf wanted sandwich. I got the chimichurri steak sandwich and he got the Californian; both came with side house salad. We liked our orders. Wish ambiance inside can be better, lightings were very bright even though the day was a bit cloudy. Place can be very busy with limited tables.

Urbane was a great place to have a casual, healthy lunch. The dining room is an open room with hard-wood floors, lively music and plenty of windows; all of which made it a pleasant atmosphere to eat and read a book. I had the Tuscan sandwich: grilled eggplant, zucchini, sliced portobello, sun-dried tomatoes, arugula, melted mozzarella cheese, and olive aioli between fresh baked toasted flatbread. It came with a simple balsamic tossed spring mix salad with mandarin slices and feta crumbles. It was tasty and filling. I also ordered the vegetarian chili: good but a little bland. I like my chili spicy and soulful. Some crumbled tofu or tvp and cayenne or hot sauce would have taken it to the next level. Still, it was good. I had half the sandwich and chili leftover for later. I’d definitely choose Urbane Café again for a relaxing and healthy lunch break.

Ordered the So-Cal and it was delicious. Combining avocado with perfectly roasted chicken is genius. Urbane Café is a very clean shop with fresh and healthy sandwiches, salads and soup with great service. The portions are generous for its price. Next time I’m trying the Cranberry Brie.

I have been waiting to come to Urbane Café ever since I moved back to Mira Mesa. This is right down the street from where I live and I am so happy that there is quality food nearby! My husband ordered the Chimichurri Beef sandwich and I ordered the Rosemary Chicken sandwich. Both were delicious and came with a delicious small side salad with a vinaigrette. Even though we thought the sandwich was a little on the expensive end(2 sandwiches + 1 drink = ~$ 22), we could definitely taste the freshness and quality of the food! We will be back often! Tip: Located in the plaza where the Fresh and Easy was.

Great sandwiches. Very tasty and never a dissapointment. I’ve been here twice and both times my tummy has been satisfied. Would definitely recommened. Green Chili and the pesto sundried tomato are delicious! They don’t carry any breakfast items. BOO. :(

Wow! A well made institutionalized sandwich with a nice salad! The sandwich was presented with a nice little salad in a plastic box that had a section for the sandwich and the salad. The focaccia bread was delicious — as the rest of the sandwich. After I left the Urbane Café I started hearing voices as I walked down the street. I stopped. I listened. The voices stopped. I began to walk and the voices came back to my head. Oddly, the voices stopped each time I stopped. Finally I decided to ignore the voices and go home. The voices came back! The voices got louder! I turned around and saw the girl who took my order was charging up the sidewalk full tilt waving my mobile phone in the air, «You forgot your phooooone!!!» The people at Urbane Café make good sandwiches and are very passionate about taking care of their customers! If you want a great sandwich in a safe environment, go to Urbane Café.

Urbane Café, I crave you. all the time. There’s something about the focaccia bread here that makes you want to keep coming back. Probably the fluffy goodness inside the almost-but-not-quite crispy deliciousness. The combination of items in the sandwiches are simply divine. The salad that comes on the side is so so good as well. I definitely recommend coming here for the sandwiches, as they are top notch. Tried a salad here before, but honestly the side salad is better in my opinion and the sandwich is so worth it! My favorites are definitely the Cranberry Brie and the Rustic Rosemary. Cranberry Brie($ 8.95): what better than melted Brie in your sandwich? The sweetness of the cranberry goes excellently with the cheese as well. The aioli gives the sandwich a nice creaminess and brings everything together. I may be biased since I love Brie, but it’s an excellent combination. Rustic Rosemary($ 8.35): I had a hard time deciding which was better – this or the Cranberry Brie. The aioli in this one is different, I guess more similar to ranch. But it also held the sandwich together so perfectly. Not as sweet of a sandwich, but a solid combination that I will crave. GETTHECOOKIESTOO. I tried the White Chocolate Cranberry and Chocolate Chip at $ 1.50 each. Again, can’t say which is better. The white chocolate cranberry tastes similar to oatmeal raisin but I guess more like white chocolate raspberry. Interesting cookie for sure. Chocolate chip was an upgraded version of your typical chocolate chip that satisfies your cookie craving, if you dig chocolate chip. TILTHEN, I’ll be dreaming about the sandwiches.

Their signature Turkey Cranberry Brie sandwich is one of the best. For your side salad, you can request a specific greens such as Arugula only. Located behind Starbuck’s, next to the gas station, or opposite side of the signature food court in this Mira Mesa plaza.

Two of my favorite sandwiches are the Southwest & the So-Cal. Try adding artichoke to either of these. It’s about a dollar more but so worth it. And their sandwiches come with a side salad with a tasty balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I’ve order their salad too it’s big and filling. I just love their sandwiches more because the bread is fresh and fire-baked. Honestly I love this café. It’s so much better than the other cafes. Ahem Panera. It has So much more flavor in their sandwich and salad.

Oh wow, Urbane Café definitely didn’t disappoint!!! I’ve bookmarked this place after hearing really good things from a friend, and was expecting to be disappointed based on the hype I was getting. While seriously tempted to order a Turkey Cranberry Brie sandwich as so many other reviewers have mentioned, I opted for a Turkey club sandwich. The bacon added an amazing smokey flavor to the entire sandwich and the herb aioli blended so incredibly well with the avocado. The sandwich bread was soft but strong enough to hold the entire sandwich together. Side salad that comes with every sandwich order was not overly dressed with their dressing. Everything was seasoned just-right to give a great overall blend of flavors and taste. I’m so excited to come back to Urbane and try out their many menu items. Service was incredibly fast and friendly. The store basically fills you up with healthy food, leaving you full and satisfied but not overly stuffed.

We had a few friends visiting from LA, so we decided to give this location a try. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and asked if we’d been before by the cashier. He went through the menu with us and explained that each dish sandwich came with a side salad. The focaccia bread is made on site which explained the freshness. The chicken and turkey says no hormones added and natural, so I liked that a lot. We ordered, and they gave me a buzzer so I knew when it was ready. Random note: The location was extremely clean as were the restrooms. I decided on the So-Cal Chicken sandwich($ 7.95) Roasted Chicken, Avocado, Tomatillo Salsa, Pepper Jack Cheese, Green Leaf Lettuce, Chipotle Aioli. It’s nice as the chicken was really fresh, and the entire sandwich was amazing. The bread rocks! My girlfriend got the Chimichurri Steak Sandwich($ 9.95) Certified Black Angus Marinated Chimichurri Tri-Tip Steak, Feta Cheese, Arugula, Urbane Chutney Aioli on Freshly Baked, Hand-Crafted Focaccia Bread. Also awesome! Steak was good, lean and flavorful. I would have liked the size of the cuts to be more consistent, but overall enjoyed it. They also have cold brewed coffee which is great. Looks like it is coming out of a beer tap, and acts like a settling Guinness. Strong, rich flavor with no need for sugar if you like your coffee black. There are also quite a few cookies that were warm and an amazing way to finish the meal.(Oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, white chocolate, cranberry and a really chocolate packed brownie). If you want a healthier choice that is affordable with good service, this is the place.

I’ve returned here a few times since my last review and tried their rosemary chicken sandwich and their cheddar broccoli soup. The rosemary chicken sandwich is excellent! I think I may even like it better than my typical order, the pesto & sundried tomato sandwich. Sometimes the tomatoes can be a bit too hard to chew through in the latter sandwich. The soup was good although I don’t think I would get it again, it was just too heavy to be eaten with my sandwich that is already very filling. I never finish these sandwiches so I always save the other half for another meal and it re-warms very well :) still tastes great the next day or so. I have also gotten a sandwich to-go and it comes in a handy little container sectioned-off for the sandwich and salad. Still the same great sandwich and salad, and it looks like you still get about the same amount as if you were«dining in». My main suggestion for Urbane is that they increase their selection of daily soups. I often want a side of some light soup(maybe something broth-based) but with only 2 varieties of soup each day my soup-desires are often left unfulfilled. Also, I’ve come just before lunchtime(11:30−12 ish) and by the time I got my order to-go all the parking spots in front of this place were filled, so watch out as this place can get busy!

Trying to eat healthier and Urbane Café offers very good meal choices. I like their tritip sandwich, the california chicken, and the pesto. Even the Clilantro Chicken Salad is worthy. The décor inside is very hip and modern and the staff is extra friendly. One of the best staffs I’ve encountered, from the cashier in the front to the person that hands your food over. I’m sure customer service is their pride and joy.

Delicious sandwiches with a generously sized house salad + great customer service at a fair price of $ 8 – 10 = easy 5 stars. Sandwiches: All of the ones I’ve tried so far have been great, and what I really like is none of them are too heavy or leave me regretting my lunch choice. and they’re open to any substitutions in the sandwich you’d like! Southwest chicken is great, the turkey cranberry brie is like creamy thanksgiving in your mouth, and their seasonal specials are always interesting and tasty too. And the portion size is great! Salad: Way better than any side salad I’ve ever had! Its not your typical garden salad with iceberg lettuce — this thing is a legit salad with fun toppings and a delicious dressing. They get all the food out to you pretty quickly and the place is clean and even though it can get crowded during lunch, I’ve never not been able to find a place to eat. Definitely a part of the lunch rotation.

Word on the street was that Urbane Café was the new«it» lunch spot for Mira Mesa’s tech community. Because of the crappy parking situation, and the reported crowds, I came after the lunch rush(1PM). There were empty tables and no line. Santa Maria BBQ Chicken Salad What I loved about this salad was that it was pretty easy to eat because it was a chopped style. That allowed each bite to have multiple flavors. Flavors included roasted BBQ Chicken, Green Leaf Lettuce, Red Cabbage & Basil Mix with Housemade Coleslaw, Corn & Black Bean Salsa, Goat Cheese, Grape Tomatoes, Applewood-Smoked Bacon, Blackberry BBQ Sauce. Yes, all of that in each bite. There was also a large piece of focaccia bead, a bit denser than some others I’ve tried, but equally as good. If you’re looking for lunchtime salads, this is a viable option. — Reminds me of an upgraded StoneOven(in the UTC food court). — The Add on Steak looked like Wet Dog food :( — Their Iced Tea + Lemonade = Urbane Palmer

When I saw this restaurant sprout up in the shopping center where the Bevmo and Fresh n’ Easy are located, I had to check it out. I mean, the fact that you immediately catch a whiff of fresh foccacia bread permeating through the air as you walk up is a sign of good things to come! I’ve already tried a few sandwiches since discovering this place and I can say most if not all were very delicious. Who knew something so healthy could satisfy you… I’ve had the following: –Pesto and Sundried Tomatoes — my go to and a classic for everyone. Ingredients are so fresh and yummy so makes it even more enjoyable. –BLAT — not just ordinary bacon, but apple wood bacon. Smokiness definitely comes through. This sandwich is a little more filing than the others with that bacon and avocado. Be prepared for a messy meal, the tomato aioli really rounds off the ingredients well with it’s creamy goodness but it does cause a drippy mess. –The Californian(w/bacon, sorry… need my meat) — Nope, I just couldn’t go completely vegetarian(don’t shoot me!). I’m usually OK with artichoke hearts, but they over pack this sandwich with SO many that it’s hard to keep the sandwich together. Glad I had the bacon for added smokiness because artichoke hearts to me are a little on the vinegary side. Otherwise, enjoyable sandwich. All sandwiches come with a side salad with your choice of dressing(which they give you an ample amount of). Each sandwich with the salad is definitely very filling; sometimes I only eat half of my sandwich and save it for later! In addition to your sandwich, they have a variety of baked goods. The cookies are cooked fresh and are sitting out in an enticing way keeping warm. Be wary though… Because their cookies are baked fresh, during lunch time the chocolate chip tends to run out fast, so get yours before it’s gone! Overall, great place near my work which I can enjoy without having to spend over $ 10. ALso a VERY friendly and courteous staff. Definitely will be back on a regular basis! TIP: Order online through their website and pickup your sandwich at the pickup area immediately when you arrive. You choose your pickup time!

Hmmm… perhaps I’m missing something here, but given so many glowing reviews I left unimpressed. I went with their special of the month, an Asian chicken sandwich topped with pickled vegetables. I was a little disappointed that at the time of my visit, they weren’t making any fresh bread. My bread came out of a plastic container. Hopefully it was made that day. Upon first impressions, the sandwich was on the thin side The flavors were solid, but I just wanted more of everything(chicken and vegetables) stuffed into the sandwich. Also, compared to Stone Oven in UTC, Urbane Café’s focaccia bread was boring in terms of taste. The side salad was good, but nothing to rave about. The total bill(without a beverage) came to around $ 10.(Which I thought was pricey, given the sandwich’s size.) I’m sure this place will do better than the previous occupant, a bagel shop, but given Urbane’s limited menu, I think I’ll still head up Panera for soup, sandwich, and salad cravings.

Fairly new spot in the shopping mall center on camino Santa Fe. It had a nice feel to it when you come inside, maybe it was the colors of the walls or the table designs or the open gas fired oven right behind the counter. I dunno lol. I was waiting behind a lady who took about 2 hours to order, so I got a good look on how they make their sandwiches. They roll their own dough on the front counter and bake them like flat breads, but these come out«fluffier.» They use this fresh baked bread for their sandwiches, which I thought was a nice change from the norm. The club sandwich I got was excellent, ample amount of meats, cheese and veggies. Very nice place!

Omg surprisingly so good! I never knew about this place until we drove past it one day. Me and the bf are always looking for healthy alternatives. Way better than Panera or Board and Brew sorry lol. And I really have been a fan of Panera for a long time. The food actually tastes good and they give better portions. Tried the Pesto and Sundried Tomato sandwich which was really good. I love the kind of bread they use which is like pita. It’s soft and tastes fresh. Not like those hard baguettes. The salad that comes with it is so worth it. Love feta cheese. I also got the soup of the day which is Baja chicken enchilada which also comes with a slice of bread. Service was friendly as they explained some things for us being our first time here. Ambiance inside is great. I love the rustic urban feel. Definitely will come back again and try more sandwiches and soups! It’s a great spot for a meal after you hit the gym at LA fitness

New place in Sorrento Valley, but I wasn’t impressed with my sandwich. The best part of the meal is the foccacia bread. The dough is rolled and oven baked right in front of you and is pretty good. I ordered the Pesto and Sundried tomatoe sandwich. The chicken in the sandwich was pretty thin, and there was a ton of mozzarella cheese. When you open the sandwich it is a thick layer of cheese. I originally thought there was pesto in the sandwich, but it’s actually a pesto mayonnaise sauce. The taste and texture of Sundried tomatoe was overpowered by all the mozzarella. The lettuce was a single piece that was missing a cool, crisp, freshness to it. The sandwich comes with a side salad. I typically like salads, but this had quite a bit of dressing on it. Prices are reasonable though; a sandwich, side salad, and drink is just over $ 10. The staff seemed pretty nice and the store is clean. I’m not sure if I would come back or not. I may and try something else.
