Decent food for decent price. Chow mein came with sm soup, 1 eggroll, and 1 dumpling.

I honestly don’t believe this place is a two-star place as the current reviews suggest??? The meals are decently priced for the amount of food they give you. We ordered three meals – the broccoli beef, the black pepper beef, and the shrimp chow mein – all were good and flavorful. The only gripe I had was that the steamed rice was a bit overcooked but w/e, I’ll live. The food is made-to-order and good for what you pay for.

:) LIKE :) * Location is nearby :(NOT:( * Sub-par tasting food * Lunch combo that’s worth $ 3.00 costs $ 9.71! * Wow Wok … failed Pretty much sums up to a food service where the kitchen staff really has zero passion in the food they make. the chef, if he/she is Chinese, was probably a reject from China due to such horrible food preparation techniques.

Been here twice got the Mongolian beef. I really like the flavor, but the dish is mainly white onion with a few pieces of beef. They should call it Mongolian onion, because I am pretty sure it takes a whole onion to make this dish. If they got rid of ¾ the white onion(and added more meat & green onion, I would come back. The rice and dumpling is good, the egg roll was undercooked and egg drop soup is bland. The food gets cold easily, I ordered it to go and by the time I get back to my work, which is about a 5 minute drive, the food is just warm. I really wanted to like this place but I just can’t see going back.

I had lunch here today since, to my surprise, Quizno’s was gone. Bad choice. I got the food to go and when I got back to work, the food was inedible. The beef was soggy and had no flavor. The rice was also bland and flavorless. What a waste of time and money.

I’m not sure why it says this place is closed. It’s open and I eat there all the time. The food is great and an excellent value for around $ 10.50(with a drink). You get a main dish, small salad, small egg roll and fruit. They are very friendly and the food is always cooked fresh and served hot. Maybe it was bad before(based on some earlier reviews) but for me it’s a great lunch stop that at least tastes like Chinese food. And thankfully, it’s not another Panda Express. I think we have enough of those.

I wanted to give a negative rating for this place… I had a Terriyaki chicken and my friend had a Teriyaki shrimp and both the dishes were literally horrible… It was the worst Teriyaki chicken I have had in my entire life… The chicken was way over cooked and the suace itself had a very peculiar(not in any way good) taste to it…

Wow Wok is located in the food court right off Mira Mesa and 805. It finds itself competing with the likes of Indian, Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese food, as well as a variety of others that I can’t remember. Since I’m currently working in the area, I frequent this food court a lot. The food court itself offers the right blend of convenience, speed, price, and taste. That being said, Wow Wok will not be getting any return business from me. From a taste perspective, it was ok. I was craving some poorly fried chicken, so naturally I went for the fried Beijing chicken. It was tasty, and one positive is they had various versions of their«Sesame chicken» out front for you to sample and pick one. This was helpful — the chicken itself came out hot and fresh, and tasted as expected. Thats about as far as the quality goes, though. The salad that came with it was fairly plan, and the Hot and Sour soup was terrible. So bad, in fact, that I didn’t finish it — and I almost finish everything! Something about it was just off. The fried rice was dry and tasteless, as well. I’d be curious to try some of their healthier options, but given the fact that the entrée was the only thing I enjoyed, I can’t imagine other dishes improving much since you’d be getting the same things with a different kind of dish. The wait was incredibly long, as well. My coworkers were all done eating by the time I’d gotten my food! Though I plan to return to this particular food court, I will not be returning to Wow Wok. I understand that we have to manage expectations for establishments that thrive off«fast Chinese food», but even as far as that is concerned, it did not fit the bill.

First time trying this place. I ordered Triple Fried Udon. It has been 30 minutes and I’m still waiting to get my order which is ridiculous for food court place.

I wish I could give this place 0.5 stars. Minus 4.5 stars because: 1. I found 2 rubber bands in my food 2. Food was extremely bland 3. Felt sick after eating the food 4. Food was served lukewarm 5. Oily…

We went with family and I will not go back to eat there. The food was bland and didn’t hit a taste bud… didn’t care for the egg drop soup either that was orange in color. Congee was included in the meal ordered and it tasted like water with soggy rice and soft carrots floating in it. I guess my expectation was high and the food didn’t deliver… I wish I had ordered at the Indian restaurant adjacent to this place instead.

This place was alright. I had really come to this food court for café jay, which was closed when I came in, so I settled for this place over the Indian place next door. I got a Buddhas delight, some white rice, and a few spring rolls. The spring rolls were great. They were hot, crispy, and came with a great chili sauce for dipping. The Buddhas delight was very salty, and had too much cabbage and not enough veggies that people actually enjoy. Edible, but not great. It was cheap though. I’ll give them that. I still would have rather tried café jay.

This place is a hidden gem. I pick up lunch here at least 2x a month. What you get is simple Americanized Chinese food that is less salty and less oily than most. They have a ton of different menu options and each lunch meal comes with a soup, salad, fruit cup, egg roll, rice and your main entrée. What more could you want for $ 7?

I ordered a cold chicken mung bean noodle in Ma LA flavor(Spicy). Everything sucks, from package to taste to freshness. The hot and sour soup came with the order ended up in the plastic bag since the cup was broken. Chicken tasted like wood. Noodle in small pieces and very difficult to eat. Too much spices added unevenly. I had one mouthful of either salt, garlic, chilli, or a bean like spice. Plus a lot of sour sauce at the bottom. It’s the worst dish I’ve even had.

I was not quite wowed. Kung pao chicken was ok but nothing special. At best it is average Chinese food.

This restaurant markets itself as a «healthy-chinese-fast-food» place. Sure the funniest oxymoron ever, but I thought I’d have a go anyway. And, they certainly do appear to sell many items that do cater to that deed. I didn’t order it personally this time. But on that note, let’s pose a question. What can you get for $ 7.00 at a food court? A burger and fries? A chicken salad? A cup at starbucks? Well here at Wok Wok… Honey Chicken Special= $ 7.00 = includes… 1) Honey Chicken Entrée 2) Side of Brown Rice 3) Side of Salad 4) Side of «hot and spicy» soup 5) An eggroll 6) Small cup of fruit 7) A Drink A SIXITEMMEALFORSIXDOLLARS… IN A FOODCOURT!!! That’s epic. 1 — ///Honey Chicken The Honey Chicken was fried and dipped in their«honey» sauce. Nicely fried, light, tasty, and not overly salted. In fact, I’m positive that they added very little seasoning aside from the honey-sauce. Some might see it as a con, but I definitely saw it as something positive. Most often restaurants will try to hide inferior chicken and flavor with salt– didn’t get that here. 2 — ///Brown Rice The Brown rice was a nice healthy addition to the meal(I know I had fried chicken, shut up! ;] i’m allowed to splurge every once in a while)– most places charge extra for it, but Wow Wok gave it to me free of charge. It was nicely done. I comment, because I’ve tasted some pretty butchered rice. 3 — ///Side Salad The salad was your basic lettuce, tomato, and spinach salad– nothing too fancy, but it did the job well. It comes with a dab of ranch, but I asked for it without. 4 — ///Hot and Spicy Soup The soup was an asian«hot and spicy,» and it was rather thin… but then it occurred to me that soups are SUPPOSED to be thin. The only reason why they are«thick,» is usually because restaurants add a TON of corn starch. I’m glad they cut it out– keeps the carbs down. 5 — ///Egg-roll The egg-roll that came with the order was a vegetarian-style deep fried egg roll. It was delicious. Crispy, flaky, and was an excellent appetizer to the entrée. 6 — ///Small Cup of Fruit Small cup of cantaloupe, melon, and grapes. It wasn’t much– but it completed the course. 7 — ///Drink Your usual fare of sodas, teas, and water. —///Bottom Line The food here at Wok Wok is DAMN tasty. I dare the man, woman, or robot to deny me that. I live in Monterey Park– Chinese Food Capital of the Western World, so I can honestly say that it may not be «authentic» Asian cuisine. In fact, it’s definitely a little white-washed. But for the price they’re charging, and the sheer variety of food they offer per order– it’s definitely going to become a staple in this food court for me. And man, it certainly doesn’t get much better than this for to-go Chinese food court place.

Picked up lunch here on my way to the office in Solana Beach. Food is made fresh to order and was still hot by the time I opened the container. I ordered the yu hsiang chicken combo and while I had high hopes, I was very disappointed in the meal. The egg roll was mushy(although I partially blame the long car ride for this) but the chicken was extremely salty. So salty I couldn’t eat it and had to throw the food away. I’ve ordered the ma po tofu from here before and was satisfied with that meal. Very spicy but that’s how I like it anyway. 2 stars for the food being hot and the spicy ma po tofu but they need to cut back on the salt for everything else.
