Food We ordered the chili cheese burger and ribs. We also had the jungle fries. The chili was good but it’s nothing amazing. We also had the ribs and those were not good at all. Very chewy and if you are looking for something that comes off the bone full of flavor it will be a let down. They didn’t have brisket which is what they are known for so I can’t really judge them on it. I wouldn’t come back for the food… It was ok no stars here Service The guys at the front were cool. I was joking with them and they were nice and were able to handle a group of 12 with ease. Kudos guys!!! You deserve a raise!!! Price The price was fair nothing to report here. Location Plenty of parking and the reason I came out here was because I volunteer at children’s hunger fund. Misc. Nice seating outside

This place was recommended by a friend. It reminds me of The original Tommy’s burgers. The chili is so delicious and you can’t beat their burger combinations. If you are a burger fan, this is the place to stop by.

I had their 66 Western Burger. It was delicious! Better than I expected. The bun was fresh, it had the perfect amount of thinly sliced purple onions, and the bbq sauce was nice and tangy. Can’t wait to go back to try the rest of their menu.

Me and my bf love coming here. Love their chilly cheese fries. Mmm love how it’s not greasy and the fries are crispy. Do advice to come a minimum of 45 mins before closing, coming a few minutes before the menu becomes limited, but definately great burgers.

Nice little spot. I got a side of chilli, fries and bacon. The chilli was alright i guess… i understand everyone makes chilli differently and they make it for their burgers, but by itself it leaves much to be desired.

Bombizzle!!! Very good chili cheese burger and fries. Very similar to Tommy’s but higher quality ingredients and way less greasy. They could make the portions a little bigger though. Prices are also ok.

You won’t be sorry! It has a cute dinning courtyard and seating inside as well. The chili reminds me of Tommys chili. The owner is super nice and easy on the eyes! Great selection of food on the menu!

I’ve been eating here since it was on Eldridge. The pastrami is to die for! Yummy burgers and everything is always fresh, so sometimes there’s a wait but it’s soooo worth it!

Love these old school feel type of restaurants! Gotta support the local businesses! Got the cheeseburger special and it was on point! Couldn’t have asked for a better burger!

I’ve been coming to this place since it opened over on Eldridge Ave. Burgers so good a silly«C» rating from the health inspector did not scare me or my friends away(that was a long time ago — last I checked they have a «A» rating). The old location on Eldridge was a great place to watch winos stumble out of the Village Market, but not a great place to sit down and eat. Their current location has a great outdoor area shared with House of Brews(also highly recommended) where you can sit down and enjoy your meal. Speaking of meals, I have really only tried the burgers here. I can say they are always great — made to order, good variety of toppings, priced fairly. I like the chili and the burgers are a good size… not to small, not gargantuan. The fries sometimes come out sub-par and even just the time it takes to drive home results in a high amount of quality degradation. Ask for them well done and you should be alright. Anyways, upgrade from 4.5 to 5 Stars for being that small mom and pop neighborhood burger place for all these years. I like small businesses. Don’t ever change on me Old Fashioned Chiliburgers & Sandwiches! tl;dr — A small neighborhood shop… liked it as a kid, like it even more as an adult.

I ordered the outlaw burger and added bacon. It was phenomenal! Nice spice to it that didn’t disappoint and overall great flavor, that sauce is where it’s at. I went in and ordered, found out if you check in, you get a free side of chili. The guy gladly gave it to me. He heard me saying to another customer that it was my first time, so he gave me some fries to enjoy with my chili. What an awesome place. The chili is your traditional chili and can’t let you down.

Simply amazing Don’t be afraid! Try everything! …it’s all GOOD I got the Western and chili cheese fries, my friend got the chili cheese burger. Inexpensive, tastes great, and I did NOT have to RUN to the bathroom after! Plus open soda fountain drinks and plenty seats, and tables inside and outside!

Went with the family, for the first time, this past Sunday, 01÷24÷16. We were greeted, and they gave us menus to look at, cashier was patient. Prices were decent, in my opinion. It’s not a McDonald’s so don’t expect a one dollar menu. They have many choices to try out. My husband ordered the double chiliburger, some fries and a soda. I tried the smoked pulled pork with coleslaw topping sandwich, and my son wasn’t very hungry so he just tried some fries. I’m not a huge fan of BBQ, but I enjoy trying it out here and there. I really enjoyed the sweetness of the BBQ and coleslaw that came with the pulled pork sandwich. My husband enjoyed the chili on his burger, and the burger as a whole. The fries were nice, crispy and hot, and well salted. The portions were great in our opinion. Plenty of fries and big burger/sandwhich. All of the food was nice and hot and we really enjoyed our first meal there. Both workers that day were very nice. The cashier brought us napkins when he brought our food out, very kind of him. The other worker was very nice and friendly and brought out some hot sauce for us, after we were done eating we talked a bit with this worker and he told us a little bit of history of the place. Sadly, I didn’t get their names, but both were very nice we went around 2, if I remember correctly. We will most definitely go back and try new things from their menu. Only reason I’m not giving them the whole 5 stars is because to dine inside it’s very small. I get it though, the place isn’t that big inside, luckily we were the only ones dining in at that time. There is plenty of room and tables outside to eat, which I would have preferred to sit at, but my son didn’t want to –_– lol

Holy Christ! I just had the greatest chili burger in my life! I was in the area and I was craving a burger. Of course, since I’m a Unilocaler, I wanted to go to the best place. I decided to try this place out. I ordered a chili burger with everything and a side of fries and a fountain drink. I dare you to take one bite and tell me that it isn’t amazing! I was mind blown! The fries are really good too! I live 25 min away from here but I am definitely coming back. I have to bring my friends here to enjoy this experience. Oh! One more thing! For all of you pork belly lovers out there, they have a pork belly burger! Oh yeah… it’s going down my next stop here! Please try this place out if you’re in the area. You won’t regret it. In fact, you will be so happy that you found this place. I can see this becoming an addiction! Lol!

I have to confess something. .. we tried this place one night. Couldn’t decide between what looked good on the menu, but got the chiliburger, pastrami and the jungle fries. OMG — delicious! We liked it so much we came back the next night and got the Route 66 and pulled pork sandwich because we couldn’t stop thinking about the other things we wanted to try. Very impressed with the high quality of all the items. Pastrami and pulled pork were super tender and flavorful. Watch out for those jungle fries! We loved them, but the sauce is not for the weak and I found myself wiping my brow. However, you notice that I did NOT stop eating them… The owner was delightful and welcoming. Will definitely be back! Don’t hesitate on this place and go have an excellent meal!

This place took over the spot where Cupid’s Hot Dogs was. I ended up here because I wanted to find a different burger place that wasn’t your typical Jack in the Box and McDonald’s. The burgers and dogs are great. The Brioche bun makes a huge difference to the taste. The hot dogs have that«snap» that they should all have when you bite in to them. And the Jungle Fries, OMG. They’re good and not for those that are on a diet. THrow out your diet when you come here. I’ll be back for more.

My order consisted of The Outlaw and chili cheese fries. The Outlaw — the caramelized onions are very good, and the jalapeños add a very good kick to the burger. The heat isn’t too much or too little, and by the time I got to the end of the burger my mouth was talking to me quite well. Nothing a cold drink doesn’t fix. The flavor of the entire burger overall isn’t the best I’ve had but it’s still a tasty burger. Chili cheese fries — it’s nice that the fries still stay crispy while you eat them. But the chili isn’t the best chili I’ve had for the price. I’d say Tommy’s is better. Nonetheless I still enjoyed them. The restaurant was slow when I went there with my buddy, so service was really nice. The person taking our order was very friendly with a smile and checked on us twice and even came to throw away our trash. Pretty small on the inside, but there’s plenty of seating on the outside so no worries. It’s clean and tidy. The reason I’m giving 4 stars is because of price. My order came out to about $ 14 with a drink. The outlaw is $ 7 and the chili cheese fries is like $ 4 or somewhere around there. The burger is, IMO, not worth $ 7. I’ve had similar meals at similar restaurants for cheaper, and their portions were bigger and the food was just as good. Like Troys in Glendale, CA Overall I’d go back there definitely.

Don’t let the name fool you, Old Fashioned Chiliburgers & Sandwiches not only serves delicious chiliburgers, they also have a full range of delicious slow cooked meats that will keep you coming back for more. I had the opportunity to talk to the owner George and Jeanne and you can not only see the passion they put into their product, you can taste it. First off, the Outlaw Burger is a thing of beauty. Their custom mayo-based Outlaw sauce has the perfect amount of heat without overpowering the natural flavor of the meat. And don’t get George started on the perfect proportion of ingredients of a sandwich, he’s got it down to a science! You can also find their Outlaw sauce on their pull pork laden Jungle Fries! It’s been a week since my last visit and I still think about it. The signature chili that they use on their burgers and fries have been cooked over three days to remove the orange grease that you find at most places. The most amazing effect is that the fries remain crispy under the mountain of their delicious chili. While all of their burgers from the Outlaw to the Pastrami Burgers are excellent, Their BBQ ribs and chicken are out of this world! George and his head Chef Benjamin use a light North Carolina style BBQ sauce that really lets the natural deliciousness of the meat shine through. I really hope they bottle their BBQ sauce because I was tempted to steal a bottle. ;) Located in an up-and-coming portion of San Fernando, Old Fashioned Chiliburger & Sandwiches can be found in a little shopping center with plenty of free parking in the back. There is also an outdoor dining patio so you can enjoy your meal al fresco! So do yourself a favor and make a trip up to this hidden gem before it becomes so popular, you’ll have to take your meal to go.

This place is tiny with only about 12 seats, but what it lacks in seating, it makes up for with flavors. I tried their brisket sandwich topped with creamy slaw, and the chili cheese fries. The chili is right up there with some of the best I have ever had, and the French fries were cooked very crispy. The brisket had a great smoky flavor, and was tender and juicy. This place is not in my neighborhood but I would definitely go here again if I was in the area.
