I’ve been eating here for years. Great food, good process and great customer service! This is my favorite breakfast spot!

Closed down! There are no American breakfast restaurants left in San Gabriel Valley! We need more American-style food! I’m going to miss Dandi’s restaurant

This place is off the hook awesome. If you want cheap, good quality diner food, this is the place to go! You get so much bang for your buck here it’s not even funny. I end up feeling like I cheated the diner because we got so much food for such little money, and it’s all good food. The zuchinni fries… YUM. Their ranch is awesome, def not hidden valley crap. The wonderful waitress refills our drinks everytime we so much as take a sip. Love the décor, love the atmosphere, and love the food! We always leave here stuffed, with leftovers, and maybe at the most $ 30 out of our pockets. Only minor, minor complaint is they don’t stick to the hours on the door. We brought friends here one evening about an hour and a half before they were supposed to close, and they were locked up tight. I’d call ahead if it’s after 5PM and you want to go, make sure they’re open.

Came here last weekend with my boyfriend. We have been looking for a good breakfast spot in our area since we started dating over a year ago. This one is pretty close to it! Very cute, quaint spot. American breakfast with good prices. The hash browns were yummy! The serving staff were so friendly! We’ll definitely be back!

Cozy little breakfast nook right next door to a police station. Service here has always been great, even when it gets a bit busy(they do constantly refill your coffee);I feel right at home here. I’ve only been here for breakfast and the price is reasonable. 1 egg and 2 sausages or 2 bacon, potatoes and toast for under $ 5 Mon-Fri before 11am, not a bad deal right? The portions are more than enough for ME. I choose this place over IHOP/Denny’s any day of the week.

Oh, Tippi, how we missed you! I used to live 2 blocks from the Las Tunas location and ate there almost every weekend, along with all our neighbors and the car club. That location was sold and became a Chinese Restaurant, so we were forced to eat elsewhere. I was SO happy when I drove down Del Mar and saw the new place, that I went there for breakfast today. Same(lime sherbet) green walls but the paint is fresh and the entire place is spotless. I had the California chicken sandwich(huge chicken breast, cheese, avocado and bacon) with the zucchini fries. The tomatoes were too light – like they were irradiated, but everything else tasted fresh and delicious. My girlfriend had the International omelette(ham, bacon, sausage, onion, mushroom, peppers, cheddar cheese) and hashbrowns. The mushrooms were canned and she traded the bell pepper for ortega chili. Everything came out hot, fresh and delicious. Our coffee and tea were filled continuously. The service was great and just as friendly as it used to be. This is definitely a cheap, large plate kind of place. A neighborhood hangout, for sure. I will go back as much as a can.

I had a California omelet and it was OK, but not great, it really didn’t look like an omelet, it look more like scramble eggs with other goodies… but I ate it, the house potatoes are very tasty and I also had some toast with butter that was good. The servings are very big, I couldn’t finish it, brought half home. My friend had easy over egg with a french toast, that was also very big, she enjoyed it too, we probably will go back. The prices are not low, but considering the size of the servings they are fair, they do have specials though.

Dandi’s looks ghetto as can be from the outside, but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in to see that it’s actually very decent looking on the inside. The service is excellent & they are constantly trying to refill your coffee for you(LOVE) The food was good for the price. The hashbrowns were excellent– so fresh and crisp. The waffle was good but the batter tasted like bisquick. The eggs were very good and the bacon was crunchy and tasted really good. I’d say it’s a good norms replacement.

Found Dandi’s on Unilocal a few weeks ago and I’m definitely a fan now! I was a little surprised at the variety of the menu, they got something for everyone. Once I saw they had eggs benedict I stopped looking at the menu since I didn’t have to read any further. I wasn’t disappointed, the hollandaise sauce was almost perfect — could have been just a bit tangier but way better then the benedict at the Diner in Alhambra. On my second visit I had the hot links and eggs. The hot link was good, but not great, and while it was spicy I wouldn’t say it was«hot». Still it was delicious and really didn’t have any complaints. The only knock was it seemed like they only had one waitress for the whole restaurant so it took a while for her to make it over to our table, the guy filling the coffee was on top of things, my cup never got less then ½ empty before he refilled it again. I also saw a couple of the older folks I’ve seen at Bun ‘N Burger in Alhambra, in case that means anything… I’ll definitely be hitting this place up again soon!

Ordered the breakfast special ribeye steak with 2 eggs, hash browns, and wheat toast for 6.95. Then I also ordered a side or biscuits and gravy. The portions were quite enough for the price however the tastiness of the food was about a 3 stars. Steak was thin but decent enough Eggs was done over easy. perfectly done. Hash browns were done just right Toast wasn’t burnt and just the right amount of butter. The biscuits and gravy was so so. powdered sauce with a lil bit of ground beef. biscuits weren’t fresh so bleh. Would I come back here again? yes I would to try out their 5.95 monthly lunch special hamburger with fries, soda So 3 stars for the food and 1 star extra for the fast friendly service and cleanliness. 4 stars buddy.

This is my favorite breakfast place in San Gabriel ~ the service is very friendly and quick(you will be super-caffeinated when you leave), the menu is extensive, the price is very reasonable and the portions are large. The Golden waffle is great(it is a Belgium waffle), I love the Bacon, Avocado & Cheese omlette(I ask for extra crispy hash browns) and my friend really liked the biscuit & gravy. I haven’t ever gone for anything but breakfast, but the menu seems to have anything you could ever want. They also have pozole and menudo on the weekends.

I love Dandi’s! I come here every now and then for breakfast, the portions are decent and the prices are even better! They have so many specials, take the time to look at all the posters outside, or to ask your server. I would choose this place over Denny’s any day. The food is much more fresh, and the service is unbeatable. My coffee would get refilled pretty much anytime I touched the mug. Excellent! In response to another review that claims anyone who gave this place more than 1 star must be related to the owners. I am in no way related to anyone that works here or has ever worked here. I am simply a patron that enjoys the restaurant. I would like to counter by saying if you only have 5 reviews and are giving this place a 1, you must work for another restaurant trying to spread some counter-intel for your competition! Give Dandi’s a try. Its so cheap, you have nothing to lose. I’m sure you’ll like it anyway!

The only reason this place even gets 1 star is because I can’t leave it at ZERO stars. The food is awful and the price is high. I ordered the Avocado Melt with zucchini fries on the side. The avocado melt itself was bland and tasted like nothing but grease! The zucchini fries were over-battered and took away from any taste or resemblance of any zucchini. There are DOZENS of places that offer much better food at a better price for their lunch special if you just head down Valley Blvd. Or head over to Jim’s Burger’s for quality sandwiches, burgers, and zucchini fries! Others at my table ordered a cobb salad, omelette’s, and tuna melt and reported the same! (I’m convinced everybody who gave this place 3 stars and above are friends and families of the owner of Dandi’s. They may be helping the owner but doing a disservice to everyone else that’s using Unilocal to get an honest review!)

Nice little place with good service. Since the Norms by us closed we’ve been missing our go-to breakfast place. Dandis doesn’t take the place of norms but it’s pretty good, offers nice sized portions, and has breakfast all day. We ordered the chicken and eggs, biscuit and gravy, and chicken fried steak and eggs. Everything was good except the biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was tough and a little gummy. Ill definitely be coming back to try other things on the menu. Especially the tamales.

We had their breakfast and it was very reasonably priced and good portioned. Very good hash browns! They were fantastic as it was just the perfect crunchiness outside. The ribeye was fairly tender. We also ordered coffee, and as other Unilocalers had commented, they will keep coming back to fill up your coffee… I mean throughout our entire meal they came back about 10 times to ask about re-fills! Overall we were satisfied with the food and will definitely come back to try other entrees. Food: 3.8 Price: 5 Service: 5 Décor: 3

Been here 3 times in 2 weeks… the restaurant features typical diner food(think Denny’s) but also has specials with an asian twist. The place is small and cozy but very affordable and clean. It’s right between Las Tunas and Valley Blvd next to the police station. The service is excellent!!! The waitress(who I think is Dandi herself-not sure) is super attentive and friendly. The breakfast section is my favorite on the menu so far… I recently had the waffles, sausage and scrambled eggs. mmmm *drools*.
