I used to eat at the Szechuan restaurant a long time ago, but not since it changed tenants, and now, it is somewhat of an unknown restaurant but chicken is the specialty here. I’m a huge fan of phở ga(chicken phở) since it is much more«cleaner tasting» to me, and really dig the phở ga at Hai Kieu. The chicken is dark meat and with skin, so if you are health conscious, just take it off, but their sweet ginger sauce is a perfect partner for the chicken. We also got the Hainan chicken rice just to try it out. Getting it as a rice dish, you can tell the chicken definitely skews towards Chinese a bit more. Again, the sweet ginger sauce is a good pairing and the rice is nicely flavored. Service was good. Parking is towards the back. Definitely will be coming back!

Good egg rolls and friendly server. Better than average chicken phở with good ginger sauce(according to my husband). Less than average rate steak/well done flank phở… the broth was so bland. Probably wouldn’t come again because there are too many phở spots in this city.

The combo phở was very bland. Tried to Dr it up as much as I could. The staff seems very green still. The kid taking our order was very şhy. Nothing really stood out to make us want to return.

Tried their ph gà & bún riêu. This restaurant was not busy at Phở Ga Bac Ninh, but the tasks were as similar as Phở Ga Bac Ninh. I think the restaurant chef came from Phở Ga Bac Ninh. One of the servers was from Phở Ga Bac Ninh. I will return to Phở Hai Kieu again

A great place for chicken phở and Hainan chicken rice. The broth is not oily, doesn’t taste of msg, and they use organic chicken! Cash only tho…

Compared to the well known chicken phở pioneers in this area, the soup here definitely has more chicken flavor. The sauce is about the same. One big plus is they let you choose all dark meat for no extra charge. If they could step it up and throw in an option for dark meat with innards like how Orange county does it, then this would be five stars.

A pretty good Vietnamese restaurant that isn’t too far from Temple City. Was skeptical about trying out this new place since it just open not too long ago. So far have only tried banh coun, bun rieu, and chicken salad. All three dishes are very well made and plentiful. I have tried two of the three dishes that I mentioned 3 times in three different visits with three different friends and they all enjoyed the food. This is now my second favorite Viet restaurant. Food not too salty or greasy. Service is above average. Ambience decent.

We came to this restaurant last night from a recommendation from my mom’s hair stylist. This is a new restaurant that recently opened up and we spoke Cantonese and Vietnamese with them. We didn’t try to speak English with them so we can’t comment how good their English is. The food was delicious. We ordered the Phở Ga(chicken phở) which was made well and the ginger fish sauce was really good. We also ordered the Banh Uot Cha Lua, which was the best item. It came out on a very large plate and it tasted really good. We also ordered the Goi Cuon, which we discovered was made fresh after we ordered it(I know some restaurants pre-make them so they don’t taste as good). We know this because we actually asked if they could they leave out the pork and they said it wouldn’t be a problem. The Goi Cuon was really good. We then ordered an item that wasn’t on the menu. The waitress explained that there are certain items they can make for us that aren’t on the item. We had a craving for dry rice noodles with chicken and she said she would make it and it was good. The food overall was really good. Customer service was good. They forgot to come by to check if we needed more tea, but when we reminded them, they would quickly refill out tea. They also came to check how the food was. I especially liked that they asked what we liked to eat and gave suggestions and told us about items that were not on the menu. We will definitely come back!

This is a Chinese owned Vietnamese place so don’t speak in Vietnamese. The owner looked slightly confused when I asked for Phở Ga and Phở Tai. Luckily my wife spoke in Chinese to get the order in correctly. I thought the broth tasted fine for both of our orders but they were on the lighter side. I don’t think this place uses MSG, which is good but that’s probably why the broth didn’t taste as flavorful as some other places. The chicken seemed to be the thigh meat but was rather tough to chew. I also didn’t like the fact it came with the skin. I did like the ginger sauce that came with phở ga. It tasted like a combination of the ginger sauce that comes with hainan chicken and sweet chili sauce. The item my wife and I both liked was the Crispy Vietnamese Egg Rolls. There are 5 rolls per order and is made with ground pork, shrimp, carrot, taro, and black fungus. It was crispy without being too greasy. I actually prefer the egg rolls here over Golden Deli. This place is still fairly new so I may need to give it another try in about three months. Chicken is suppose to be its specialty but I wasn’t too impressed with the phở ga. I might have to try its hainan chicken next time.

Very clean. Small shop. Suggest come a little early to get seating. Parking lot is small so I recommend street parking. Service is ok. If you get the beef phở you’re looking at $ 9.00

the actual rating is 3.5. The food was decent. The chicken phở was actually pretty tasty. dont need to wait in line for the rosemead one. I had ordered the chicken and rice to go but they had to switch out the flavored rice to regular rice cuz it wasnt quiet ready. I respect that they dont give sub par quality out to their customers. The reason for the 3.5 stars was only b/c of their bun thang noodles. It was a bit too bland for my taste … but it could be the nature of the noodles. I would definitely come back and try this place again.

A co-worker took me to this place for lunch as it was relatively close to the office. The restaurant itself is quite small but spacious. My co-worker raved about how amazing the chicken dishes were here. However, being the rebel that I am, I decided to order well done flank phở. The bowl of phở is a generous portion, but not so generous with the meat. I literally only had 3 pieces of flank in my phở. It’s pretty upsetting to be honest. I’ll let them off easy because the food is pretty delicious. Everything was flavorful, and even though I didn’t have that much meat in my bowl of phở, I ended up being super full at the end of the meal. Maybe next time I’ll come back and try a chicken dish, haha. Also, the people who work here are very nice. They talk to you as if you were their good buddies. So yay to good customer service!

The restaurant seriously needs to hire another person. We went here on Sunday for lunch. We never got our bill and we asked two times. We ended up going to the counter to pay. My family ordered a togo when we were eating there. They didn’t even have the food ready. The food wasn’t that good. We got the chicken rice and phở. The rice for the chicken and phở broth didn’t even have flavor. It was pretty bland. I wouldn’t be coming back here for awhile. There’re other viet restaurants that tastes way better than here.

For all of you Unilocalers, their phone numbers here was not correct. The correct phone numbers for them is 626−872−0328. I did post a picture of the front page of the menu. I reported to Unilocal 18 days ago and they promise to change it but up to today still the same. I went over to order to go and pick up the menu. I am not related to the owner at all. Just hate to see new business with pretty good foods got bad reviews due to misunderstanding of them not answering the phone. Peace :)).

I hereby revise my previous«hangry» review because the food is truly tasty, authentic, and generous! Thanks to another Unilocaler, the phone number on Unilocal is wrong. Correct number is 626−872−0328. We live like 4 minutes away and decided to do take out. The portions are extremely generous for the menu prices on regular portions. Can’t imagined what large is like! The place looks small on the outside but surprisingly comfortable and well-spaced on the inside. Plenty of AC, that’s a big plus for Asian restaurants lol. Next time, we’ll dine in. Highly recommend phở tai, phở ga, and banh cuon :) Original«hangry» comment: Calling and calling and calling at noon time on a Friday for take out, but no answer? Shhhh…

We live in the neighborhood, and the thing that brought us in was their sign that said they specialized in hainam-style chicken. It’s a tiny store, decorated/furnished like a standard Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant. There’s plentiful parking on the local streets(they only have a small lot with 5 – 6 spots). Their menu isn’t too elaborate either, which is good because I’ve always believed in quality over quantity. Now, to their food… We ordered a regular sized bowl of chicken w/rice noodle soup and ½ a steamed chicken. The broth in the chicken noodle soup is probably the best I’ve had in a while(and to those who know, there’s a LOT of competition around here). The broth has a fragrant, rich chicken flavor without being over-salted, which is a huge plus. The chicken was superb, cooked to perfection, and the hainam-style dipping sauce was garlicky, gingery, peppery, tangy deliciousness. All in all, with the friendly service and efficient staff, I see myself becoming a regular here.

This opened about two weeks ago and the restaurant food is pretty much the same vibe as the atmosphere. Very«eh» I think there were a few errors that this restaurant faced which is #1) their broth flavor lacks a lot of flavor #2) the temperature of the phở was not hot enough that the noodles still stuck together #3) bottom line, it just lacked the«punch» you expect from eating a bowl of phở. This may be because it is a Chinese owned Vietnamese restaurant so I think it needs a crash course from an expert Vietnamese cook/chef. I also think if there isn’t any Vietnamese people eating there, there’s a problem. Overall, this is a new place so it’s a trial and error kind of thing. They need to polish a few spots here and there and maybe they’ll improve. For now, their food is just«eh».

Food is good. The noodles however tho, the people very skimpy with the green vegetables. The Hai Nam chicken was good not the best, but better than most places. The waiter was very nice. He kept tab with us often but not to much which is great. Very clean. Bright interior, some what vibes. And FYI the place barely open. Come try it out…
