We order the 伊麺, 京都骨, and others ,my daughter loves it. Food is hot, service is quick. Overall not bad

I tried their lobster noodles and gai lam. They are both great! Just authentic Cantonese glamour. Price is decent and not too overboard.

If you want good hairless food and good not even excellent customer service, take Golden Palace OFF your place to dine list. Don’t be fooled by their fancy menu online or onsite. The owner is the cheapest owner I’ve ever encountered in my life(I am in my 50s) who cannot even spare an extra small sweet and sour sauce to go. I suppose he doesn’t know what customer service is as he is too CHEAP! I actually told him off and said, i will never go back here as you have bad customer service as the owner of this place. Went to pick up dinner as I was craving for lobster noodle. Along with noodles, we ordered Chicken Chinese salad which was very disappointing. Basically cut up lettuce into pieces likely with bare hands(can only hope with washed and cleaned hands) with breaded chicken and dressing. And Szechuan Chicken which was tasteless and to make it worse, my daughter found a strand of hair in it. After that, all the food which was barely eaten went straight to garbage. My family and I love and will pay extra for delicious food, great ambiance and excellent customer service. I went to Golden Palace because it is near my home. From customer service standpoint, Golden Palace is no comparison to Taiwan Restaurant and Sino Restaurant and Lounge to name a couple of places with excellent customer service and good food. Lesson learned, extra miles for better food and great customer service next time. If you decided to dine here, check out the kitchen and good luck!

Happy hour dim sum on weekdays! All small, medium and large dimsum is at small standard price. The fried shrimp dumpling is exploding with shrimp and shrimp flavor. Its crunchy and the texture of soft filling and crispy deep fried skin make its fun to eat. It also comes with a creamy dipping sauce. The tofu skin wrapped shrimp is nice and flaky with a shrimp veggie filling. The clay pot tripe noodle dish was salty and the tripe was tough to eat. The tea came out cold. This was disappointing. Hot tea should be scalding hot! Hot hot hot!

Nice and clean, good service, delicious seafood like lobster and steamed fish — first time lobster tasted good to me :) Some common dishes like soup tasted average, the environment was warm and a bit old. Close early at 9pm.

Not so good, sorry. Thought this place is Houston quality but I was lied to. There are just too many flaws about this place. If you order the wrong things then you will suffer greatly. I ordered a few items and was not fully satisfied. The portions were medium to the point of small. I expected something better but it was really awful. The food does not have an authentic taste. Most of the dishes are pricy and not worth it. If you order the lobster noodles then it will be worth it. I did not go for dim sum but I think you should pass on that as well. The LLG Chinese food(formerly Happy House) tastes better than this. Don’t eat here or your wallet will be really mad. If you were here please avoid at all costs. Go somewhere else or you will be hungry right after eating something worse than the lobster noodles.

lousy dim sum and terrible service. Most of the dim sum dumplings fall apart when you try to pick them up from the container, even though the skins or wrappers are thicker than normal. The Shumai tastes awful. The meat in there is not seasoned. The service is horrendous. No one wants to help. Whenever we need something, we are told to ask someone else. When my wife walks to the waitress to hand over the order slip, she’s told to go back to her table and wait. To top it off, the tea is lukewarm.

I don’t really usually go to Chinese restaurant due to my lack of likings of eating Chinese food but tonight, I met up with two of my best friends across the street at 85 café an we decided to go to a place where we can eat«actual» food and not pastries. So we went next door i forgot what the resto was called but, we didn’t really like anything on their menu so we got up and left and saw the Golden Palace across the street so we walked and had little expectation(for me at least) knowing that Chinese food isn’t my first choice of food. but i wasn’t that hungry so i was super down to just get a drink. Walked in and first impression was, Pretty clean and smells good. not like some hole on the wall Chinese places i’ve been long time ago. This old waiter took us at our table and was super kind and polite. I’m super anal about customer service. I CANNOTSTRESSTHISENOUGH. If a place has good customer manner i am all for it! We got our menus. for what i’m seeing, this place can get pretty packed depending on the day you come. I know that some people might not care but i’m a germaphobe, and with that being said, I was really happy to be handed with a clean&dry(not torn up) menu. Menus are the dirtiest things you could ever touch in a restaurant. just like our phones are the dirtiest we carry with us daily. Yay for clean Menus! I just got the salt and pepper chicken wings with some of their house special white wine. It was good! I didn’t get to finish it though because i was still pretty full from earlier today. The check was fair that is all i have to say about that. cant believe I’m saying this but i might be back again. this time with my boyfriend who loooooves Chinese food. Oh! and i forgot my car keys on the table so our waiter, the kind and polite man who helped us ran after us and good thing we were still waiting for the sign to turn before we crossed the street and kindly returned my key. Thanked him, Shook his hand and said to him that i will see him soon. Such an amazing experience!

Traditional Chinese place, solid cooking, nice for our family gathering. Service is pleasant and efficient. Waiter was quick, sharp, all over the place, but always consistently checking on us. Now that’s what I consider great service at any restaurant. For Chinese eateries, I find it is best when someone who has previously dined there, knows the best things to order. Luckily our party had one such guide. Every single dish brought to the table was tasty, not too salty or fatty, and large portions. Appetiser was massive plate full of various cold meat dishes such as roast pork cubes, thin slice pressed beef, tofu roll, jelly-fish. Imitation shark fin soup probably used shredded scallop, a good substitution. Beef and scallop stir fry with snow peas, celery and other vegetables was great and unique in that the meat was cubed, not sliced thin. Lobster. sweet and sour whole steamed fish, roast duck with miniature bao, scallion garnish and plum sauce. Honey walnut and mayo-glased large shrimp was good. Mustard greens and sea cucumber, which were basically halved and cut length-wise, all large pieces. Fried rice was one of the better ones I’ve ever had– simple, light and not greasy. Dessert was Dao Hwei, a steamed silken tofu suspension, thinner than a pudding. This is a large busy restaurant. Many diners come for the dim sum, presented on rolling carts. Golden Palace has its own parking lot surrounding the building, but it is crowded for lunch on a weekend. If you can’t find a spot, just go on to the side streets.

I can’t believe this place only has an average Unilocal rating of 3 stars. In NYC this place would have easily gotten 4.5−5.0. I guess that is the difference between SF Chinese food and NYC Chinese food. Not gonna list everything we ordered but I highly recommend the lobster noodles, as it was literally on every single table’s packed lazy susan, and cold appetizers and the shrimp-stuffed eggplant. Those were my favorite. Bright lighting that shows off how clean this place is and actually good service, what a change from NYC! Not as many carts roaming around enticing you though and some of the steamed goods came out at room temperature but still overall winner. Place gets packed so make reservations or be prepared.

Great dim sum and exceptional service. The manager of this fine establishment is very friendly and checked up on us to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Be careful though because this place gets packed fast. But I would say it’s worth the wait!

Honestly, not the best dimsum. But HOLYCRAP some of the best dimsum prices you will find in the Bay Area, where even Chinese food is getting unaffordable. Small dishes are just 2.80 during lunch, and I think the most expensive dimsum dishes are like 4.50… that is ridiculously affordable. And it still looks kind of nice on the outside… so i can take my aging, proper, yet surprisingly sassy grandma there and not have to fake lose in our fights over the bill. I can actually pay for her and elevate my position as grandson. Oh yeah. I haven’t had it, but everyone goes crazy over their lobster lomein. I think it’s super affordable as well. I’ve had dinner there– nothing spectacular but passable and edible. So yeah– 3 stars, but honestly, I would keep going here. In fact, in the last 2 weeks, I’ve been there twice already.

I don’t have very high expectation when it come to dim-sum in America, bay area tends to offer better dim-sum than the remaining country except LA and New York of course. With that said, we wander in, order a few regular plates, to our supprise, it’s actually better than many other places around like Dynasty for sure. The steam beef rice roll(cheung-fun 腸粉) was actually very good, almost at Hong Kong level. The chicken feet was marinated in rose-liquor(Mei Kuei Lu 玫瑰露), very nice. The only one thing I had to say something about was I ask for ½ or less final pot of tea at the same time I ask for my bill, they came back with a full pot. This is not the only place, almost everywhere whenever I ask for ½, they always came back full. I understand the service thing but given we are in drought, when customer ask for ½, give them ½, listen to the customer please !!

When Golden Palace first opened, the restaurant is really chaotic. My family had to stand up and wave super hard for the servers. Despite the horrible first experience, my family visit often because it’s close to our house and it’s relatively cheap dim sum in cupertino area. Oh yea their services improved a lot over the past few months! I would definitely recommend the lobster noodle! It’s tasty and good portion for its price. Sadly, they just raised the price to $ 17.99. Every time we visit, the owner would come by and greet us! It makes me happy when the owner actually remember their customers! I think the restaurant have decent food, price, and service. Tips: be prepared for the very long line and small parking lot Overall 3 stars and plus one star for their improvements!

Man… What happened to this place? The dimsum used to be very good when they had grand opening. They even had S M L all counted as small plate back then and still very good. All the dimsum we had last weekend was very blend and oily. The price went up on most dishes. Parking lot is hard to find parking during lunch time, most likely need to park on the street adjacent to the restuarant.

I came here with my aunt and great-aunt to celebrate a belated Chinese New year’s a couple of weeks ago. All I can say is that the food is really so-so. We ordered four dishes — lobster noodle, a stir fried shrimp/snow pea dish, a soup(佛跳牆) and another vegetable dish. I think the only dish that I thought was decent was the soup, which is a traditional Chinese soup with a ton of random(kind of random?) stuff in it, like sea cucumber, various meats, bok choy, etc. Even though they are famous for their garlic noodle, I thought it was pretty mediocre. The dish is served with bits of cut up lobster with the shell still on. The lobster itself is pretty good, and the noodles are quite chewy and a good consistency. However, I really thought it was just ok… it wasn’t that flavourful or memorable. I also wanted to comment on the service. Although our server was very kind and attentive, there just simply weren’t enough staff members to effectively serve everyone at the restaraunt. There were I think a maximum of two servers(there was no host, the servers kind of just took turns depending on who was free to act as a host), and our server would keep saying ‘give me a minute,’ and then go to the front podium to act as host as well. Also, when I tried to pay using two cards, and specified how much money to put on one card, the waitress said ‘I can’t do that, the machine can’t do that.’ I know that it’s definitely possible because I’ve done it at literally countless numbers of restaurants. I’m not sure if they are just technologically challenged or just do not train their employees well enough to operate their point of sale system. Three stars for the food, two stars for the overall experience.

2.5 stars, mainly based on service. I came here with my girlfriends this past weekend. They open at 11am but they seated people well before then. It did get crowded quickly. It was easy to order off the menu, just mark it off! There are also some dishes not on the menu that circle around. The food is hit and miss for sure. The Good: — chicken feet — har gow — sticky rice — chinese brocolli — shrimp stuffed mushrooms The Bad: — fried taro was over fried. — the xlb dumplings were placed in a foil wrapper which essentially got stuck and the soup would just come pouring out. — sheng jian bao, no soup, not crispy on bottom either. Everything else was ok. The most annoying part was that right when we sat, we ordered the lobster noodles. Waitress: are you sure? Us: Yes Waitress: Did you know it’s $ 17.99? Us: Yes Waitress: You still want it? Us: Yes She comes back a second time to ask us what noodles we wanted with it and if we were still sure we wanted it. Let me pause to say«AREYOUEFFINGKIDDINGME?». How many times do you have to ask and get the same response to understand we want those damn lobster noodles?! Everyone was getting it left to right, I didn’t understand the issue with us getting it? Funny part was that it NEVER came! Ridiculous. We had to tell the owner and he apologized profusely but still…

I came with my parents on a weekday and arrived early. My parents who are basically retired now come here regularly because it’s pretty close to our house and because of their weekday dim sum special — $ 2.60 for any dishes in the first 3 columns of their dim sum menu. We got about 9 items for the 3 of us and it was plenty filling. The classics(shumai, ha gar, pork buns, chicken feet…) are all available and delicious. My favorite was the Lotus Wrapped Sticky Rice. I was also super impressed by the tea(which they charge $ 1/person for; so drink up). Given the price, it’s kind of hard to complain about the food but if I did have to give any negative feedback, it would be that the skins on some of their steamed dishes were kinda… loose?(Sounds dirty, I know.) Cleanliness here is totally white-people friendly — no sticky arms before eating. They do put down a napkin under your plate so they don’t have to wash the big tablecloth which I found kinda ghetto but environmentally friendly. There is also kind of a problem with language but we’re talking about an area where the public schools are +80% Asian so bring borrow a Chinese speaking friend if you don’t have one of your own. One real inconvenience is parking. It was 11:30am on a Tuesday and this lot was packed! I know it’s a suburban thing for everyone to arrive in their own minivans but it was pretty ridiculous. The restaurant wasn’t even half full and even street parking was unavailable. Nothing the restaurant can change except to offer valet parking but that’s just ridiculous. I will encourage my parents to walk. So, in conclusion, come early, carpool, bring a Chinese person, get the sticky rice, and watch out for loose skin.

Either get here early or wait 30+ minutes! They do not speak English! Menu is in English. Write in how many of what you want. Somehow when we were still waiting to get a number in line, the lady just told our party to take the table that just opened. Turned out that they made a mistake and helped us cut 5 groups, but they let us stay and apologized. The table we were assigned was next to the waiting area, and I was sitting where the wall had ended. People waiting for tables mistaked me as part of the wall and tried leaning on me a couple times! Rude! Told the server and they didn’t care or ask them to move. The prices were fair to expensive. Portion size was pretty small. We ordered 10 items, and weren’t hungry. Ended up adding on the special lobster noodles for another $ 15. The lobster noodles weren’t anything fancy or different. The taste was bland and cold. But they did give a good portion of lobster meat in it! Total came to $ 58 barely filling up 4 hungry adults. I wouldn’t come back. There are many better dim sum places, especially in San Jose. Pros: –Food was hot and pretty good Cons: –Wait is usually long –Service is mediocre(like many Chinese places) –Servers were all running(literally running) –Tea was cold –Prices were too much –Parking is horrible(find it on the street to prevent accidents, spaces are waaaaay too close) –Tables too close to one another

Lol why is Unilocal always hating on Chinese restaurants… I speculate it’s skewed from naïve people who expect pampered face-value service and storm out of the restaurant with 1-star vengeance when they receive anything less. That being said, I’m not going to say much about service and ambiance: both were standard and sufficient.(As a matter of fact, when service and ambiance get too fancy in a Chinese restaurant, that’s when you have to start worrying) We came here for dim sum, and it was very good dim sum at very good prices. You can order it and pick all your favorites without waiting for all the carts to come by.(Also an advantage if you want that schmexy aerial view photo with all the dim sum on the table). Everything tasted freshly homemade and hit the spot: (+) The classics such as the SHRIMPNOODLES and SHRIMPDUMPLINGS were classic. (+) I even liked the STUFFEDEGGPLANT, which I usually find too greasy but here it had the richness of eggplant without being soaked in oil. (+) The BAKEDBBQBUN blew me away; it was composed of a buttery flakey pastry that was so good I would not be surprised if they had a secret contract with 85c across the street. (+) The GREENTEAMOCHI was an excellent dessert, with a crispy fried outer layer, a soft chewy mochi shell, and filled with a warm flowing sesame paste. The only problem? I was pretty full a day I came and was planning only to have a few bites. However the dim sum was so delicious and I got very full and had no space for 85c iced coffee afterwards. First world problems at its finest.
