Great coffee, I think it is much better than Starbucks. It is smooth and balanced, not burnt tasting like some of the big chains. Tim, the owner, is always there smiling and brightens my day, especially when I come in really tired looking for some pick up.

I had the pleasure of visiting Coast Coffee after receiving recommendations from several people I know who have gone there.
While there I ordered a Vietnamese coffee as well as a standard coffee. Both were delicious and expertly made. One of my favorite things about this place is the fantastic atmosphere that this place provides. So many places these days are constructed to have you in and out quickly, but here that rushed feeling was never present.
With great artwork, fun writing on the floor and a tv with shows on made it enjoyable to be able to relax and enjoy the ambience. But most of all the owner Tim did a fantastic job of giving recommendations, making the drinks delicious and quick, and also taking time to speak directly with his customers.
If you have the chance please stop by. It is truly a treat to support a great local business and I highly recommend it!

Tim is super sweet. I ordered the Obscene Dirty Chai, and halfway through him making it, I realized I forgot to ask for it without sugar. He kindly made me a new one, and he gave me a larger size (even though I paid for a small one) because I had to wait. It really wasn’t an issue; I wasn’t in a rush, and it was my bad for not letting him know initially. But his gesture was greatly appreciated. His generous and friendly service will keep me coming back!
Also, get the chai! If you’re sensitive to sweetness like me, I would recommend getting it with sweetened almond milk but no additional sugar. The hint of sweetness from the almond milk is enough for me!

First of all the coffee is really really good.
I’ve been hearing about «the best coffee in Orange County» for some time but just never found a reason to traverse the back roads of SJC. Now I most definitely have a reason!
Secondly, Tim is a fantastic host and his excitement for his product is contagious.
So if you haven’t already caught the bug… Do yourself a favor and stop by.

Finally got to try the chai! It is the best I’ve ever had!
The aromas of the tea blend used by Tim come through perfectly even when coated with whole milk. Concentrates or powders are never this good.
What else can I say? It was delightful!

To echo the review commentary, Tim is wonderful. He is such a sweet and passionate business owner with a knack for all things coffee.
My favorite part of the entire Coast Coffee experience is the floor quotation that states: «Friends don’t let friends drink corporate coffee.»

Coffee from the big chain coffee shop tastes burnt, unless you add all «that stuff» to it.
Coast Coffee and Tea is fantastic tasting coffee, without creamer, flavor etc. They have that stuff, and it’s excellent quality too.

A nice, new, small coffee/​tea shop. The owner/​operator Tim, is knowledgable, friendly and accommodating.
Off the beaten path but well worth it! The focus here is tea and coffee. This is not Starbucks.
Coffee and tea lovers alike hurry in — changes are NOT extra (ie: soy, almond, coconut milk).
Tim is more than happy to customize your drink or have a real conversation about tea and coffee.
We’ve been there twice and have had nothing but amazing service and drinks, the best dirty chai latte ever! Tim even called me back over the 4^th of July weekend cause I thought he would be closed to let me know they were open and apologized that he missed my call.

Love the cozy quiet feel. Great service, my Chai tasted so good, like the spice blend and I am a Starbucksaholic but I believe I have found my new spot price was better, taste was a little better and the spices stood out

It is extremely rare I write a review. However, my wife & I were blown away by the kindness and generosity of the owner. Last Sunday, I misread the Unilocal app and thought the shop was open. When we arrived, it was closed but the owner saw us outside and opened the door and invited us in. Not only did he open just for us, but upon discovering we had just moved to a temporary apartment from out of state, he spent considerable time with us telling us about the area — towns, housing, schools, traffic, culture, history etc. Not only that, his hospitality also included free refills during our talk. My wife had a ‘Dirty Chai’ and I had a special brew Ice Tea — both were top class!
We will never forget his kindness, generosity, and great quality products and will be back again each time our travels bring us to San Juan Capistrano.

The coffee here is OK. It’s very convenient because it’s in the same plaza as my office. They have pastries and bagels and teas.
I’ve tried some of the pastries before which are super sweet and super delicious. I just tried a bagel this morning and it was not toasted very well at all. It felt soggy like it was just warmed up or like Tim was using a toaster oven versus a toaster to toast them and didn’t want to keep me waiting/​keep an eye on the bagel.
I also only received 1 cream cheese container for a very large jalapeño bagel that managed to cover only one slice of bread.
As for my Mocha coffee, Tim forgot to ask me what kind of milk I would have preferred and I didn’t remind him as I saw him already working the machine and felt by then it was probably too late. As a result my Mocha tasted like warmed up milk. He’s asked before what type of milk I want but this time he dropped the ball and also I noticed he did not ask the customer after me if they wanted a different type of milk either. For a new coffee place I think it’s important to lay out the options initially until people remember to modifications are available.
In the end I’ll go here because I can walk there. But I’m not sure I will go any time soon until the owner has a little more experience. But I’m out $ 7 and feel I should have just gone down the street to Starbucks instead.

What a fantastic gem in San Juan Capistrano. My girlfriend and I went today, Sunday right before they closed at 2, and ordered the iced Chai and a some tea.
The Chai was amazing!!! My girlfriend said it was the best Chai that she has ever had, she practically swore off Starbucks.
I got the Julian flavored tea, which was awesome. Great green tea flavored with apples.
The owner is very nice guy and lovely to chat with. I can’t wait to go back and try their other options.
