I’m quite a frequent flyer at the Bluebird. It is fantastic pizza. All of it especially the Nutella pizza. Every topping taste fresh so I recommend you try them all. And Fran is very friendly and loves to talk pizza, just ask her anything, she is the Pizza guru. And she makes the best pizza in all the Land.

Bluebird just might be my new favorite pizza joint! I love everything about it. They’re a cozy and modern little family shop that makes quality pizza at an affordable price. This can be a great casual date spot, or a dinner outing with friends. Also, the restaurant has an open layout where you can see into the kitchen and watch the pizzas being made. Onto the pizzas! The pizza crust is perfect, as it is in-between a thin crust and normal crust. It’s not too bready at all, but has substance. It’s a lighter pizza if you will. Their green pizza with pesto, spinach, and ricotta is delicious and unique; I’ve never had a combination like it! And their good olé pepperoni pizza just hits the spot. I’ve frequented Bluebird a few times and I’ll be sure to come back!

Really good spot. I honestly didn’t know it existed, and wish I did sooner. Cool employees, small, but clean spaced out booths, sports on the tvs, decent craft beers, and the Pizza was delicious, especially the crust. Going back to this place for sure.

Located on the corner of E14th, you would never had imagined this to be a pizzeria. It looks more like a raunchy sports bar from the exterior and doesn’t look family oriented and as inviting. Good thing for these Unilocal reviews that sheds light on how nice the inside is compared to the outside! Walking in, you get an instinctive hip vibe! Baseball memorabilia’s are hung all over the walls, mostly East Coast teams and one for Oakland A’s, probably for good measures. But boy was my first impressions wrong about this place. It’s a friendly atmosphere where people come in to enjoy good pizza, beer and hang out. Everyone was friendly and very accommodating. And I also noticed that the owners seem to know the customers that comes in… like a place where everybody knows your name. We ended up ordering the combo pizza and a slice of chocolate nutella hazel nut pizza. I’m not a pizza crust person, I usually give those to my 1+ but this time, I munched it down! The crust was really really good and the combo pizza was really really good. The dessert pizza surprised me in a very good way. I’m pretty sure I’ll be back to try the other items on their menu!

I am so happy I know about this place! This is now one of my favorite pizza spots in the Bay Area. Their pizza is made fresh and you can tell that no short cuts are made. I love their sauce and their crust is in the middle of thick and thin. This pizza is so good each time! Definitely check it out next time you’re looking to try a new pizza place!

Just found this place tonight. We ordered the combo pizza and a salad it was wonderful! This is a great find in San Leandro which doesn’t have loads of fantastic restaurants! Keep up the great work!

I usually go to SF when I get that craving for pizza — you know the kind of craving that leaves you pissed when you get the pizza and it’s just average? Finally found a place in the East Bay where that craving can be satisfied. The crust is good — not too thick or thin — you can fold the slice nicely so you protect the roof of your mouth from getting burned(I burned myself anyway because I wasn’t patient enough). Had the Hawaiian with jalapeño. Love the fact they use fresh jalapeño instead of the pickled ones. I’ll ask for more next time — wasn’t enough on the pizza to give that KICK I was looking for. Pizza was a little salty and greasy(from pepperoni) but I would definitely come back if I don’t feel like making the trek to SF. There are about 4 tables for seating. Good place to eat and watch football if you can get a table. I called ahead and placed my order in hopes of it being ready when I arrived to eat. It wasn’t ready, but my order got pushed up in the queue once I got there so the wait wasn’t too bad. The owner makes the pizza for those who are at the restaurant first, which I can appreciate.

I LOVE pizza. Bluebird does it simple — but great. The sauce is sublime. The choices of topping is plenty — not too many to get you off track that you’re eating a pizza. Can’t wait for my east coast friends to try to see if it passes their test and the owners are from NJ. Also, they did great with the white pizza — which reminds me of my family upstate NY. They’d love it. Can’t wait to go back and try more including the three twins ice cream!

I’ve only been once just before the holiday season started. Yum! Now that the New Year is here, I’m wanting to eat better and shed a few. But if you see me and I’m still packing a few extra pounds, you’ll know that Bluebird Pizza is solely to blame and that it was worth it. That said, I’m going stay away for a while just so that I don’t look too lame in my determination. Do I smell pizza???

The best pizza in the East Bay. The owners are really great, friendly and will recognize you by name. The pizza is to die for. It’s a rarity to get good NY Style pizza in NY. I usually get the NY Combo whole between friends. If you love NYC pizza, give this place a whirl.

Dang it. I hate to give these guys 3 stars, but their customer service — based on the availability of phone ordering alone — warrants it. Probably 2 stars is more accurate. Yes, the pizza is divine… but I’ve been able to get through to an actual person only twice since they’ve opened. Tonight a man answered and put me on hold. I was so happy to hear something other than the busy signal! However, I held for 15 minutes…15MINUTES! I could hear busy restaurant noise while I waited. So enticing! I tried hollering into the receiver. No dice. Eventually, I gave up and ordered take out from somewhere else:( Yes, their pizza is better — much better — than anywhere in San Leandro, but you’d best be prepared to walk in, order, and wait. And wait for a while! It’s worth it IF: you aren’t hangry, you aren’t in a hurry, and you don’t mind waiting in a small space for 45 minutes to an hour. Good luck, my friends!

Normally I don’t follow the hype but this place is legit! BEST pizza you’ll find in the area I guarantee you, if you don’t agree– your tastebuds are wack. Honestly stopped getting pizza for a while all together(can only take so many disappointments) but this place has defiantly relit the flame for my love of pizza. Almost didn’t find this place but after reading the reviews and being recommended by word of mouth– I was determined. I definitely wasn’t let down, you won’t be either.

The hype is real. This is DAMN good pizza! Bluebird is fairly new, and I took quick notice of all the consistently good reviews this place was getting. Had a long day at work and didn’t feel like cooking, and remembered Bluebird was on the way home from work. Note: the pizzas are handmade with love and it’s a small business, so your order may take some time! I called my pizza order in and it wasn’t ready for another 45 minutes, so plan accordingly. As others noted, everyone here is super friendly. I got the combo, but subbed out the sausage for soppressata. The combo is simple: pepperoni, olives, peppadew, and sausage(or soppressata, in this case). What is peppadew? I had no idea before this, but they’re delicious ass sweet red peppers. The ingredients are all top quality here, and the crust is fantastic! I don’t normally eat the remaining crust when you get to the top of your slice, but my roomie and I didn’t leave one crumb. A 12 inch will feed two people for $ 17ish, or you can opt to get the 16 inch. I’ll definitely be back!

Well I came here because of reviews and sent my parents here for that reason, and it really did not disappoint! They loved it, and I finally got to try it and it is delicious! Just ordered half cheese, pepperoni and mushroom, and the other half marinara style, olive and pepperoni. With a gluten free crust. My stomach is sensitive to cheese and gluten so it was perfect for me, crust was thin crispy. I really have no complaints aside from wanting more. My sister tried their house made strawberry ice cream and said that was delicious too :). Will go back in a heartbeat

Whatever they use to salt their crust with, it must be laced with cocaine. It’s the best flavored crust I’ve ever had in my entire life. It’s thin crust pizza(a la New York), and it’s not overly greasy like I’ve come to expect pizza to be. Fairly priced and not a long wait, which is great for this amazing local business on a corner of East 14th. We ordered a large margherita for 3 people and it was perfect, and for only roughly $ 25! It’s a local gem, and I’m hesitant to post a review only because I want to keep this place to myself! Still, definitely a great place to grab dinner after work or on the weekends if you’re not looking to cook!

Wow! Pizza my wife and I both enjoy! She’s a thin crust gal and Ima thick crust dude. This crust has a great flavor and satisfying heartyness. I asked if she(Fran) uses a poolish, she said it’s more of a biga. Either way you can tell it’s a unique dough made with a lot of love. We love the Hawaiian pizza which has pepperoni pineapple and bits of jalapeño. Awesome! Best of its class in San Leandro. Heads Up: Also love the Margarita, it’s made with a different red sauce than the other pies.

THISISTHEBESTPIZZAEVER! Fran and Jay make you feel like you are part of the family and the only thing that is even better is Fran’s pizza. She makes everything fresh with quality ingredients and adds her own flare. The flavors are amazing and you don’t get that bloated feeling from eating all of it! The pizza is not salty like others and Fran makes the sausage herself, with the best spices. You can’t go wrong with any of the pizza choices. I have recommended this place to all my friends and it is becoming a mainstay for us. All I can say is once you try it, you will never go back to any other.

I’ll get right to the point with this one. First timers here and they get our first pie(pizza) like completely opposite of what we ordered lol. I ordered a large with half pepperoni and pineapple and the other half just pineapple and when I got it it had pepperoni jalapeños and pineapple .LOL. It’s all good they were hella cool about it, they made us the correct one and were very nice our whole visit. Overall the pie pizza has a unique flavor. It’s super greasy which can be a good thing or bad thing depending on the person.

When it comes to pizza, I’m an equal opportunity eater. I don’t particularly discriminate and prefer one kind over the other. Sometimes I feel like having super thin crust, regular thin crust or thick crust pizza. Just depends on my mood. The hubby and I really liked the pizza here at Bluebird. We ordered the Combo which had Pepperoni, Sausage, Olives and Peppadew. The pizza appeared on our table about 15 min later, piping hot and big enough to feed three to four people, depending on everyone’s hunger level. The crust was nice and crispy, and the sauce and toppings were very flavorful. There was a hint of sweetness from the pizza sauce and peppers which balanced the saltiness of the meats. I ate a couple of slices for lunch the next day and they were still good. We will most assuredly come back here again and perhaps try another pie! I’m glad this place decided to open up a pizzeria despite the number of pizza chains in the area. This is a small place(few booths), and it may not be fancy like other pizza places in the City or Berkeley/Oakland, but their pizza is good and it’s not far from us. You can get pizza by the slice even at night, so it’s perfect if you’re truly hungry and can’t wait 20 min for a whole pie.
