Makiyaki

Good and kid friendly… although when it comes to sushi my kids can put it down. Staff was friendly and not rude. They were a bit on the slower side compared to some of the near by places. But we will be returning.

I had been looking for a new Japanese restaurant to go to, and I came here for dinner. I ordered chicken katsu and my friend got shrimp tempura. Both of our meals were great! The waitress was friendly and the food came out right away. The décor is also good. This will be my new go-​to spot for Japanese food! (But parking is limited since it is in Pelton Center.)

Fast service. Clean joint. Waitress was very friendly. Kept refilling our tea without us having to ask! Bento boxes were delicious. Salmon teriyaki was huge! Sashimi was fresh. Recommend this place to everyone. Can’t wait to go back!

This place has always been really consistent I’ve been coming to makiyaki for years, and it’s my favorite sushi place in San Leandro! They are pretty fast and everything is delicious! I never understood why this place doesn’t have higher reviews, I recommend this place to everyone!

Ordered the MakiYaki and California Deluxe roll. Ammmmmazing!!! They were both so delicious I couldn’t stop to take a photo!

A hole in the wall that serves great tasting sushi rolls. I found the service to be excellent. It is now one of my favorite spots to satisfy my sushi craving without having to drive to Oakland or Alameda. The Lambada roll is super tasty!

The best sushi in the bay to me period. I’ve been to other places and none compare to this place. The service is great. It’s a small place but good for groups. I’ve never had a bad experience or bad food.

The staff here is unbelievably rude
After the lady picked up the menus my dad hung on to his and the lady just straight up snatched it from his hands my father told her he was still looking at the menu and simply grabbed it back from her she then snatched it again and placed it out of his reach the staff is just plain rude and we will not be coming back here.

After ordering our food the lady proceeded to pick up the menus… My dad was still holding on to his because he was going order something else & she very rudely snatched it from his hands. He told her he was still looking at it & gently grabbed it back from her but she snatched it again & placed it out of his reach.
We have never experienced such rude service at a restaurant. Never eating here again.

My husband and I have been going to this restaurant for a years, and we’re always pleased with the food and service. They have a great variety of rolls. Our favorites are the lion king, bad boy, raider, delores and the crunchy roll. I always look forward to eating here.

I had the lion king roll. Awesome ! Hit the spot ! This was my second time here and I’ll definitely be back again. It’s unpretentious and low key which was just what I needed after my workout. :) friendly service too.

Warm hearted people, great food presentation, cute dishwater and they don’t close mid day! This is my second favorite sushi place, when my first choice is closed.

Sooo… I’ll make this very short. The staff isn’t friendly. Watched her pour ice in our cups using her hands. Ordered the rainbow roll and Ikura (salmon roe). The «fresh» fish that sat on top on the roll was so old that the fish lost its color. And the Ikura was clearly beyond its sell by date. Absolutely mortified by my experience here. I’ve never been so repulsed by a sushi spot in my life. Do not order fresh fish here. Only eat the cooked items if you must eat anything from this place. Beyond disappointed.

This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants. My friend and I use to come here every Monday on our hr lunch break. My husband and I also love to eat here when we get the chance. We use to live 5 minutes away but now we live in Castro Valley so we try to come whenever we get the chance.

Came in and got three rolls, they came to my table at a good time. They took care of me and my friend. We ordered one of the rolls that has fire around it, the sushi chef came out around his bar to help me and my friend open the sushi roll, he shut the fore off for us and rolled the foil open. Their miso soup was very tasty as well. We got the jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and tempura fried as well.

Loved this place especially their super volcano! I kept telling people who asked about sushi places to come here because of the good rolls and low price BUT everything was ruined a month and a half ago and I have not returned since.
While taking my employees out to lunch i had to take a conference call. I stepped away and while on a call heard one of the girls screeching which i took as a laughing screech but Nooooo it wasnt that at all. Turns out a cockroach was on the table and the female owner came over and killed it with a napkin. She didnt apologize nor offer a discount and we all left disgusted paid and didnt leave a tip. The fact that no apology or comp for part of the meal was made just killed it for me. 2 stars because it will have a special place in my heart; like a sad ex BF who was always so sweet and nice but had a shitty job and no car so you ended up compromising yourself to stick through the relationship

I really love this place! It’s small and old school, but I’ve never had a bad meal. I am vegetarian so please know that my 5stars is mainly based on the fact that they offer plenty of veggie rolls that are delicious and just as exciting as the other fish rolls. I especially love that the gyoza is made with tofu and not pork, which is epic since I rarely if ever can order those in other sushi restaurants. For that, and the most amazing Veggie Top, Makiyaki has become my #1 sushi spot. My meat-​eating husband also loves the rolls here and we also really like the edamame and miso soup too. On a side, this place always has the best cheesy ballads playing and we enjoy singing along with them which makes our meal even more fun.

This place is located in downtown san leandro in the plaza near baskin Robbins. Everything Ive tried here is good. My favorite is the green mussels, creamy shrimp, island roll, and montana roll.
When you walk in you are seated by the waitress. Its not a big place but nt small either. The menu has pictures and descriptions on each dish.
The quality of the food here is a lot better than fat fish. Tastes fresh here and not stale.
You can always order takeout here too. Atmospherr is nice. The chef is nice too.
There is $ 10 minimum purchase for credit cards.
Theres a tv here too if you want to watch sports.
Street parking is easier to find than inside the plaza.
They also have seats for babies.
Theres also a bathroom.

A monthly meeting brings me to San Leandro. My reward for going to this meeting is a have a quick dinner. I’ve added M to my list of places that are quick, reasonably priced and close to where I’m going. This small restaurant is not very fancy, the service is friendly. It is difficult to park in the Pelton Center. Parking problems never figure in to my ratings, it is just good to know ahead of time.
The bento boxes make a nice dinner. The sushi is fresh. I doubt the Goyza is made onsite; they are pretty consistent in size. Wherever they are made, they are tasty.
I try not to eat a lot when I come here, it would be terrible to doze off in the meeting.
