See, i really like this place. I usually get take out, However they rubbed me and my friend the wrong way a week ago when we decided to dine in. As we were enjoying our sushi(which was delicious), around 740 it got busy. There was only one waitress there. Next, me and my friend realized we had gotten carried away in our convo and it was now 830 and we were the only customers still there. We didnt think much of it because the sign says they close at 930pm. But soon we noticed the lady constantly coming to our table, the she pulled the shades down and turned the lights off, as if they were closing. Me and my friend left out. And they quickly closed. Well before 930.

Came here for dinner the other night. The food was good, but the reason why I gave the place 3 stars was for the service. The waitress was fine at first, constantly checking on us to see if we were okay. Then the place gets busy and she disappears, which was expected. Then 8:30 comes around, my friend and I were the only ones there, and she keeps coming to our table to collect the smallest things(multiple times) while my friend and I were conversing. So we left… we got tired of her watching us like a hawk. Don’t know if I’ll be coming back any time soon.

This is my first review. And this place is the latest place I went to. Well I just went there with my hubby last night, we were celebrating something and sushi is always our choice. It’s kinda«tradition» to us. We had udon and sushi. The sushi were great, and udon was good too. It’s just that I feel like the boiled egg they added in the soul was old. the services is ok

Service is great. The place is pretty small so it’s not good for big parties. Satisfies my tummy every time

I love this place. I am surprised that I haven’t written a review a year or two ago. I really like coming here. San Leandro doesn’t haven’t a plethora of good eateries, so this place stands out. It’s always pretty chill no matter what time of day. I always receive good service. The older woman that serves me is awesome. Once she brought me some hot sauce to try because she noticed that I like SPICEY food. I loved it and loved the fact that she was paying attention and willing to go out of her way to make me happy. I definitely recommend having sushi here and their happy hour deals are pretty good.

Yummy sushi and friendly service! Our server was very sweet and our food came out fast. I would definitely come here again, especially if I am on a time crunch :)

This is an excellent place to go. I have been coming here ever since I was a kid. The service is great and because it never becomes too busy we are always seated immediately. The lunch menu and the dinner menu are different in what the other options are both t the roll selection is the same. The rolls are fresher than the other sushi places close by and all the rolls are given time to make them. During lunch, you can get a Benton box if you are not in the mood for sushi, which is what my friends often do. The rolls taste delicious and each ingredient has its own place in the roll, where as other sushi places make it taste like the ingredients were smooshed together to make the roll.

Small order on a Friday night. Restaurant half full. Order took 45 minutes to deliver. Would never go here if you expect to be fed quickly

I live across the street from this restaurant so it’s good for being so close. They have a great happy hour menu on sushi rolls, fried dishes and beer. My favorite is the sashimi combos, but no place can go wrong with that. Also tried the seafood undo noodle soup that’s really good definitely enough to share.

Not bad but not great. Sushi was good. Service not so much. I will give them an other try later if i am near and hungry but i wont seek them out like i do many restaurants. I enjoy the seats with the bamboo paper walls it gives you a bit more privacy. They also do serve you your food very fast so that is a big plus.

I came here after work last week to place a take-out order. When I walked in there was only a couple at the sushi bar waiting for their take-out. They were sipping on drinks and edamame watching their rolls being made. I was welcomed right away and I asked to place a take-out order and I was shown to the sushi bar where there was a menu. Mind you, I was to stand and wasn’t offered a table or chair at the sushi bar even though they weren’t busy at all. I ordered two types of Nigiri and two rolls which came out to about $ 26, and later ordered the miso soup and salad too which was about $ 4. After I paid for my order and signed the bill adding tip, I waited. While I was waiting another woman came in and order take-out and was quoted 5 minutes. She was easily there for 15+, and I was still waiting! Finally, once the couple at the bar and the lady who came in after me got their orders the sushi chef started making my order. He did offer me hot tea or water but I decline, I just wanted my order so I could go home. They showcased my order to me before packing it up and everything looked good, key word here is looked. Once I got home and unpacked my order I noticed that the rolls looked dry and upon tasting them it was confirmed it. The rolls fell apart when I lifted them up so consume; rice falling off of the seaweed in clumps or strips. The Crazy Horse roll has a couple different types of fish in it and they all tasted the same and had no other flavor. I also tried the Rock n Roll roll and the unagi tasted bland and the sauce was not good either, almost like it was old or had been sitting for a while. That’s another thing, nothing was actually cold! It tasted, at best, room temperature, which is not good for raw fish! I also had the fresh salmon nigiri which was too fatty and that is all you could taste, it was like licking butter and I couldn’t bring myself to finish it. The unagi nirigi mimicked the roll I got, not flavorful at all and the rice on both orders of nigiri tasted old. They did give me free edamame but even that was unsalted and tasted like they were from the freezer. I’m a HUGE fan of sushi and I’ve had bad sushi before but this place takes the cake. The rolls are mostly rice, the rice tastes old/refrigerated for a long time, fish is not the focal point and lacks flavor, and even the nigiri leaves something to be desired. I should have just gone to Sushi Avenue for my Sushi dinner! I will not return to this place.

My daughter and I were really disappointed. The roll she ordered was missing half of the items listed in the description. When we double checked the menu and told our server she came back with a plate with two if the missing items. The server apologized. But the sushi chef was unapologetic. Maybe he was too busy talking to remember what goes into each roll. The amount of crab and cucumber that was in my roll was next to nothing. The shrimp tempura was more tempura than shrimp. The server acknowledged the minimal amount of crab and cucumber in my roll. She adjusted our bill. Not enough though. However, I did appreciate her efforts to accommodate us and for being pleasant.

Sushi Musashi isn’t really located in a visible area, compared to the other restaurants, stores, and fast food joints around. My mom and I just so happened to come across it coming into the parking lot on our journey to find some place to eat lunch. The food itself was probably 3 stars. Nothing special, pretty adequate. Prices were a bit on the pricey side, You could probably get sushi for the same price with better ambiance at Sushi Delight which is within the same plaza. Service could definitely improve. Upon walking in, we were directed towards a table. However, we waited at least 10 – 15 minutes before given menus, which didn’t really make sense since it wasn’t really busy. There were only two other groups. The food also took quite awhile to come out. After we paid the bill, we waited for the food we ordered to-go which took some time to come as well. It almost seemed as if they were making the food after we paid… Most likely not coming back to this place again.

If I could give this restaurant a zero star, I would. I stopped by here one time to grab a to-go before I head to work. And boy did I make the worst decision ever. The lady that served me gives the worst customer service ever! She’s very rude and looks down on you. As soon as I walked in, she made me feel very unwelcomed. She kept giving me that look as if I didn’t have money to pay. Like seriously?! She kept giving me attitude the whole entire time I was there. I couldn’t wait to get my order and leave. I was still surprisingly nice enough to leave a good tip despite her disgusting attitude. When she came back with my receipt and food, THEN she started acting nice. Well who needs that now that I’m already leaving!!! Not only did the customer service sucked, the sushi was beyond bland. It tasted nothing like sushi. Worst sushi I have ever had!!! I’m never coming back here again. Bad quality of food! Very bad customer service!!!

My Bay Area friends introduced me to Sushi Musashi years ago. Since I was back in the area and needed a quick lunch, I decided to grab a bite to eat before heading to the airport to fly home. Sushi Musashi is located in a shopping center at Davis Street and 14th Street in San Leandro. I arrived at about 1:30 after the lunch crowd and was seated immediately and given hot tea to drink. The woman who seated me then went away for awhile and took my order 10 minutes later. I ordered their lunch sushi combo. While waiting for my lunch, the waitress brought me a bowl of Miso Soup and a salad. The sushi lunch combo consisted of 6 California Rolls, and 5 pieces of Nigiri sushi. The sushi was okay. It was not the best that I have ever had. But, it was enough to satisfy my hunger. Their white mystery fish with Masago was kind of tough. The salmon, Yellowtail and Tuna were okay. The lunch combo was reasonably priced. Overall, this place is A-OK. Service was a little slow as others have mentioned. If you sit by the front door, you can get free wifi from McDonalds. The food is decent. The best part about it was that it did not get me sick! I could come back if I was in the area, if I wasn’t enticed by some other restaurant.

The service here. well be prepared to repeat yourself at least 3 times of your entire order to the waitress because she is hard of hearing and understandiing. So, be forwarned. The food here itself is better than the service. They have their own redering of different rolls, as well as some individual rolls and some even wrapped with soy paper! They have some sexy names like: sex in the cityor 007 roll or OHMYGOODNESS. So catchy makes you want to try. This isn’t my ulitmiate go to sushi spot in San Leandro, but when I want something a little different I don’t mind stopping by. There are booths, tables and the bar. The tv is usually on with sports which is a PLUS, but there’s some weird japanese, elevator music that’s always playing in the background. Baked Mussles– I order them wherever I go. Here, it’s more cheese to mussle ratio and the cheese has a little spice kick. It tasted more slimy than I would have liked, but the tobiko and flavors blended it well, and it was hot so that’s a plus. Goyza– The bottom was broken, so the juices and meat fell through. It was soggy throughout the shell, except for the top of the goyza but it wasn’t that good crisp crunch, but a break my jaw dried out kinda crunch. Spider Roll– I get them at each sushi place, thinking that it’s going to get better since I love sushi and soft shell crab. But the two shouldn’t be together because nobody can’t make the roll without drying out everything and just stuffing it with cucumbers and pea sprouts. Dragon Roll– My loveeeeeee! of eel, avocado and tobiko and shrimp tempura all rolled up with rice and«special» sauce and all glory of deliciousness. It’s my favorite roll and it was actually damn good. No surf clam though and the hot tea was good. She never came around to refill my drinks, but when I offered to pay, the check and sign receipt was right there on my table in a couple of seconds. Tsk tsk. But on another note, they have really good lunch bento deals!
