The sausage and peppers were amazing. The service was great! This is a small restaurant but comfortable. It is a nice change from chain Italian sub par food restaurants.

Average is the best I can do, nothing horrrible, nothing special. That applies to the food, service and ambience. There were 6 of us(we did call ahead and had a reservation) the table was ready and we were greeted promptly in a small room right off of the main entrance. The room was cold and we were told because there was a fire in the main dining room, the thermostat(which was in the main dining room) would not kick in any heat. Oh well, we had a our coats so we made the best of it. Store bought bread, toasted with a little butter and some garlic salt, was delivered in a basket with a cheap piece of paper on the bottom, very average but rapidly consumed because we had shown up hungry. Bottom line was any of our entrees could have come from the frozen food section of the grocery store. Price was fair, but we could have shoped at Safeway, come home and enjoyed the same basic meal. We passed on the desserts and just dropped by Baskin Robbins for some ice cream. Again, not horrible, not special, just food.

I’ve longed to visit this cute, l’il Italian restaurant for years. Seemed too romantic(think Lady and the Tramp) to experience alone. So when my special someone and I were hungry after hours of hiking at Mount Hood, I knew JUST the place to suggest. We were greeted promptly and seated minutes later in a comfortable booth – possibly the only, as I saw mostly tables and chairs. I considered sitting outside, but we were never presented with the option. Sinatra played amidst the charming décor, while paper napkins and placemats were forgiving of our casual post-hiking attire. I felt welcome. ^_^ We ordered after a tolerable wait by a friendly, eager-to-please server. She brought ice water promptly and made good on the promise to keep the bread coming. About the bread. Guess I’ll get this over with. I LOVEGARLICBREAD. This, however, was the only downside to the meal – and why I’m only giving 4-stars. They were unimpressive, tiny, thin, pieces of bread… like toast. A few were burnt(read blackened). While it may be a matter of preference, I like my garlic bread hot, fresh, and crispy, yet chewy. Onto the good now. My companion ordered the lasagne. I stole a nibble and immediately suspected I’d wrongly chosen. Oh, the spaghetti and meatballs were tasty, but, that lasagne was DELICIOUS. Very flavorful and homemade tasting. Both entrees were nice portions. I predict I’ll venture back to Sandy soon for take-out!

We have been here 3 times. Don’t know why we came back. Got up and left after being ignored for way too long. It is bland food and of poor quality. I guess we were hoping it had got better. We will never know… Go down the street to Wall Street. Never a bad meal there

Please put the owner on the show extreme cheap skates and shut this dump down! I do not know how this place is still open. Absolutely disgusting food and not to mention the rude remarks from one of the staff members. This is hands down the cheapest quality and the least flavored Italian food I have ever had. I was flabbergasted when the waiter brought my wife and I the garlic bread and as they set the luke warm bread down, they asked if we wanted it toasted… Thought that was pretty standard? Also asked if I wanted more Pesto on my pasta when they set it down. I do not know why we bothered to take desserts home but we did and both desserts were the tiniest slivers of store brought Costco cake. cant believe this place has four stars must have had their tastebud free friends write reviews.

Went there for dinner, today. It is my birthday. It all started really well, the wait staff is very friendly. This review is not intended to make them look bad. The food was great but the service was not. My tea was never refilled despite being told by the waitstaff that they would, we never received another refill of bread, even though they said they would, they did not do a follow up check, after we were served to make sure that we were all good. All in all, very dissatisfied and did I mention that it was my birthday.

The eggplant parm is the best, not over cooked like some can be. My husband had the meat lasagna and he cleaned his plate. Definitely recommend this place.

I was overdue for dinner on the way back from a hike near Mt. Hood and relied on Unilocal to send me to the right place. It was a Saturday night around 8:15 and there was only one other party there, so at first I was a little worried. The service was a little slow considering there were only two parties, but the menu looked good and I was surprised to see Warsteiner Dunkel on draft, so I was intrigued. I was hungry so I started off with the antipasto. The presentation of the antipasto was very basic, but the cheese, salami and prosciutto were very flavorful with some olives and fresh red pepper slices. Good start. Chicken parm was a healthy portion at a very reasonable price. I thought their tomato sauce had a very fresh flavor to it. Antipasto, chicken parm, a nice Dunkel draft and tip and I only spent $ 26. Would definitely eat here again when I am in the neighborhood.

This fine Italian eatery is the quaint town of Sandy has a cult following, and for good reason. The food here is on point, and the extensive list of Italian wines as well as a full service bar keep your pallet moist for their fine bruschetta and perfectly portioned entrees. The wait staff here is very lively and fun to chat with. Overall I see why the locals keep on coming back. I advise to come on a Friday or Saturday for their wood-fired artisan pizza, straight from Italy.

My family and I found the food here absolutely wonderful! We had the spaghetti and meatball, eggplant and, veggie lasagna. The meatballs were delicious, the vegetables were wonderful and the eggplant had fantastic texture. The staff was polite and we were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by the owners of the restaurant. They serve and cook the food. I highly recommend coming here.

Very disappointing. The service was slow and our pizza was never made. They gave away our pizza to another customer and offered us a semi cold one for a dollar discount. We will never eat here again.

Yesterday, after all the Mother’s Day madness had wound down, I turned to my husband and said, «I want to sit on a patio, in the sun, share an appetizer and drink a glass of wine.» He thought for a minute, and said, «Let’s go back to the Italian place!» Best idea of the weekend… We have eaten here before, but it’s been a while. Service can vary greatly, but they have a really sweet server named Alllie who works certain weekends and during the summer who is awesome. The food, though, has always been good. Our original plan was to order a couple of appetizers to share; however, once hubby saw the menu, he succumbed to the Chicken Parmigiana. I ordered the Antipasto platter, which was only $ 6, and a glass of Riesling for only $ 3.50. Husband added the Insalata to his his entrée for only $ 2 – it was a beautiful salad with homemade croutons and big enough for me to sneak a few bites. His entrée was very generous; he ate half, and I just warmed up the leftovers for my lunch today! The chicken was well-seasoned, and tender enough to cut with a fork. Probably frozen, but if the presentation works well, who cares? There are many different«levels’ of frozen food that restaurants can choose to present, and this was a good one. The sauce was very good – definitely no canned or frozen taste. All in all, very enjoyable. We have forgotten why we don’t come here more often, so we are going to fix that!

Visiting the Grandgirls near Sandy when we tried this one evening. Friendly, cozy, great service. We all had good pasta dishes. Excellent food, reasonable prices. Will be back next time I’m in town. Grandad C.

Driving through Sandy after a long day of skiing, we spied Trattoria Sapori. After reading the reviews, we made a u-turn and I’m so glad we did. The atmosphere lured us in and when we were seated by the fireplace we were smitten. Service was prompt and small town friendly and the food was exceptional. My daughters are the pickiest eaters on the planet and every accommodation was made to please them. We left warm and full and happy. When next we pass through, we know where we will be eating!

We had a lovely Valentine’s dinner last night. Filet or Lobster on the menu with reservations required. The place was packed for the early seating. Lobster, spinach salad, broccoli, mashed potatoes and an amazing selection of desserts. We’ve eaten there before and the food was good but they really outdid themselves this time. Very special night for us, made better by great service, awesome food. I highly recommend this place, if you can get in the door. In the winter the patio is closed so it’s pretty small.

Came from out of state to visit relatives in Sandy for the holidays and after visitng several restaurants in the area, all I can figure is the bar for dining out around here is set very low. Don’t know how else to explain the previous 5 star ratings. I wanted to treat a group of 10 to a decent moderately priced dinner and based on these Unilocal reviews, I gave this place a try. The entire experience put a big cloud over the whole evening. My first clue should have been after calling midday to make a reservation, I was greeted with a testy«HELLO?». After confirming I did indeed have the right phone number, the person who answered seemed surprised that someone was actually calling to make a reservation. We were seated then ignored for several minutes, finally I asked a waiter(not ours) if we could get a bottle of wine. His response was laughter. Wow. He turned out to be a nice and funny guy but that’s not what I’m looking for in a waiter. We were then presented with one basket of bread with 4 small pieces with a promise more was coming. It finally did after several more minutes. The wine came and they have no idea how to present and serve a bottle of wine. No testing for«corking», just here’s the bottle, pour it yourself, into the wrong type of glass for the red wine I ordered. Then there was the food. The lasagna was actually not bad but served lukewarm. The chicken cordon bleu: just say no. A flacid thin breast that looked like it was steamed with a slice of cheese and ham on top that looks like it came out a school kid’s sandwhich. No flavor, no crust, no browning, not stuffed. The food came out in shifts so there’s that awkward moment where people with food are just staring at it while it’s getting even colder because not everyone had there food yet. My dauhgter’s ravioli came a full ten minutes after everyone else was served. It was like that«fresh» junk you buy in the package at the grocery store. Awful. Overall, a $ 200 mistake. The owners have no clue how to run a restaurant. Even Gordon Ramsey couldn’t save this place. Embarassing.

We just had dinner here and it was the best ever. I get lasagna at every Italian restaurant I go to. This was by far the best lasagna I have ever had. I can wait until next weekend to go back. Make the drive to Sandy. You won’t be disappointed. Oh and the ice cream was also delicious.

Fabulous fresh, local, authentic Italian food in a charming, rustic, homey place. The house apéritif is great and the wine list good and all so reasonably priced. The owners are warm and welcoming. Worth a trip from Portland for the best Italian food around!
