I liked it. But then again, I was hankering for a hotdog. I ordered a bratwurst($ 6?) with all the fixings — grilled peppers, grilled onions, tomatoes, and Lord knows what else because all the additional toppings were freeeeee so I went to town. Topped everything off with mayo and spicy mustard. I have to admit, it was a little difficult to eat because of all of the fixings, but the bratwurst itself was good. The sausage had a nice snap when you bit into it. I also ordered a side of chili cheese fries. The fries themselves were nicely seasoned and I also liked their chili + cheese + diced onions. This alone could stand as a meal. Everything came out to under $ 14 for my lunch. Service was a little slow, so make sure you have ample time before deciding on ordering anything here.

Disgusting hot dogs. It took 15 minutes to get it and the bacon was not even close to crispy. AVOID this shithole

Terrible. Dry, hard bread. Didn’t put the right ingredients in the hotdogs. I do not recommend. The onion rings were stale and not very good either. What a shame. I wanted a good hotdog today.

Don’t understand all the negative reviews. They weren’t super efficient about filling orders, but once I got my OC dog it was real tasty.

Ok they are open again as of January 2016 but now as an «express» location. In other words they are no longer the full version of Jerrys. All the different mustards, salts etc… are all now just mustard and ketchup. It’s fine for an airport quick meal. For those of you who whine about it not being authentic Chicago dog… get of yourself. Do you have any idea how many bad hot dog places there are in Chicago? Many are crap so quit crying.

Two employees. I am the only customer at 4:27 on a Friday… still waiting after 10 minutes.

#118 Airport food at its quickest. I am not a huge fan of many meat items, but it was early, we needed«fuel» for the trip and Jerry’s was on the map, so to speak. We grabbed some hot dogs, or should I say ‘they’ grabbed some hot dogs and I grabbed a side to snack on. The service was friendly and quick, and that is really important when you are in an airport. For this, I give them four stars. Thank you Jerry’s for helping us re-fuel and get to our flight on time. Stephani Smiles for Jerry’s Wood Fired Dogs ;)

This place is closed. Chinese taking over. I have to keep saying something or this is a tip. So anyway don’t bother looking for them in the airport..

They’re not Chicago-style. And even if they were, they’d immediately lose their status as such because Chicagoans don’t put catsup on their hotdogs, but you can do so here. So there’s that. I really want all the toppings to be killer and for everything to be amazing, but it’s not. The veggie dogs are OK. I want to try more of the toppings. Both mustards I’ve tried have been good, but there was something else I had that was too sour. Or sweet. Or runny. Or pinkish without being pink. Yeah. I haven’t flown in to John Wayne recently, and that’s sad, because I’d love to rub it in at the Ducks bar. It’s OK, Anaheim; you can be happy with a great regular season. See you next year!

Very disappointed. Saw«Chicago Style Hotdog» on the menu and got my hopes up. I could look past the fact that the dogs were grilled and not boiled(fire grilled in the name) I get that. Not Vienna beef hotdogs either. Ok, not I Chicago but the list of toppings on the menu were spot on. Including the bright green relish and the poppy seed bun. The picture on the menu showed sliced tomato as well. They served my dog on a plain bun, diced tomato and sweet pickle relish, and yes, it does taste different. When I asked about the fore mentioned discrepancies I was told the stopped ordering the poppy seed buns and never had the bright green relish. False advertising for one, altering a very famous and precise recipe for two. If you are going to do a thing, do it right. If not, take it the hell off the menu…

OUTOFHOTDOGS on an unbusy Saturday day just before 1pm! Ordered burgers instead and they took over 20 min – way too long for a fast casual airport restaurant. When I complained, they said it’s because only one person was working. Well, it would have been nice to tell me I would be waiting twice as long as it takes to cook a burger before they took my money. Apparently«wood-fired» burgers=slow roasted.

TL;DR: Don’t go here. It was slow and expensive. Fourteen bucks for two dogs and one drink. Really really slow, which is not what you’re usually looking for in an airport restaurant. My daughter and I got in line behind another person. It took the two girls behind the counter five minutes to take two orders. I asked how long it would be, and was told 5 minutes. It took 17. Yes, for two people to cook three hotdogs for the people in front of us, and our two. They were bland, tasteless, and barely warm. This is the bottom of the list for John Wayne — I have to think literally anywhere else is better.

Found this gem when waiting for our plane. The smell of the wood fired grill brought me to the end of the southwest terminal. At first I was hesitant because the prices were cheap for an airport. I was expecting for a $ 5.50 burger it would be really small. Since everything else at the airport is so expensive. It wasn’t small, it was a good sized burger. My burger came out quick and hot. I was very surprised, best airport burger I have ever had and the best priced airport burger too.

This review’s theme: Should have gone to Zov’s. Sitting at the airport, 10AM flight… hungry. I spot Jerry’s next to Zov’s.(Should have gone to Zov’s.) Saw Jerry’s had a breakfast burrito. Some jalapeño sausage with the fixings and salsa. Sounded good.(Should have gone to Zov’s.) Paid like $ 8, waiting almost 10 minutes for it to be cooked. They were out of the jalapeño sausage, so offered to cut up some regular sausage and put in jalapenos … whatever, do it. Burrito cooked, served. I asked for the advertised fresh salsa. They were out of that too.(Should have gone to Zov’s.) So let me recap now that I’ve had a nights sleep: paid an arm and a leg for a breakfast burrito that I’d rate at 6.5÷10. No spicy sausage, so you improvised, OK, but also no salsa? It’s only 9AM on a Wednesday. Was anything deducted from my bill for the lack of advertised goods? Nupe. Should have gone to Zov’s.

Unlike some of the others, I had a good experience here. Two guys working behind the counter(Jason and Victor) were polite, responsive, and had a good sense of humor. I asked them to surprise me with the toppings. They asked if there were any items I didn’t like and then created something quite delicious.

Happy Burger Heaven in a most unexpected place. Last week’s layover had me hungry at John Wayne Airport. Craving a burger, I ordered a medium cooked wrapped in iceberg.(I am gluten intolerant) with grilled mushrooms and a bunch of fixings. First off, they were awesome about accommodating my needs, suggesting I include romaine lettuce. OMG I was in comfort food heaven! Better than I imagined, it was perfectly cooked, juicy, and so delicious. What made it spectacular was all the tasty fixings and the excellent unexpected customer service. When my burger was being dressed, I was asked if I wanted even more toppings. They did an excellent job of wrapping my burger, adding loads of fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and a tasty hot sauce, which, with the grilled mushrooms and mayo, was off the hook and filling, but not in that gross oily way. And it was under $ 4. Yup. Burger heaven with super-friendly helpful service, this food snob gives Jerry’s 2 thumbs up!

I didn’t think this spot was terrible. I had a turkey dog Chicago style and it tasted good. It’s kind of crazy that the tiny bottled water costs the same as a hot dog. But, its the airport. They love to jack your rights insecurity and then your money. My only complaint was that the dog could’ve been a little hotter.

Complete airport food fail. Customer service was poor. There were 3 guys behind the counter, looking bored. I asked for two toppings on my simple dog and they still got it wrong. So they did a do-over. As for the dog, it all looked good on the outside, but it disintegrated when I first attempted to pick it up. Last time I checked, you’re supposed to be able to pick up a hot dog. I ended up just eating the meat part with a knife and fork, leaving the soggy bun on the plate. Still a little hungry n the plane, I had to depend more on airplane peanuts than I had planned. Dear Jerry’s: It’s great that you have so many toppings, and that you apply them liberally. But you need to back it up with a sturdier bun or the whole concept falls apart. Literally.

This is the new location inside John Wayne Airports new terminal. I was expecting a bit better. Love the Jerry’s in Ladera. Had the breakfast sandwich. It has sausage, egg and cheese on a sourdough English muffin. Only slightly better than a McDonalds version. The sausage had better flavor but the rest was lacking. The staff seemed tired and listless. It was«early» being 7:30am, but they didn’t seem to have the excitement of working at Jerry’s. JWFD is not known for their breakfast items and I think that I will skip it again in the future. Still looking forward to having a real JWFD at a later time. This breakfast did NOT satisfy my Jerry’s craving.
