Jack in the Box

Sitting here eating the great Jack in the Box with my 9 year old Daughter and the crew has rap music playing out of the office with a lot of profanity. Don’t bring your kids here.

Apparently at 4am the machines «restart» and you can’t place an order. However, I asked if they could start my food and by then will the machine be restarted? I thought I was speaking English but apparently I was speaking common sense which is a foreign language because the guy proceeds to tell me he can’t place an order because the machine is down. Does the machine make the food!!! He told me I could wait in the parking lot for 15 minutes then circle back and see if it’s restarted! Like really? Jack in the box needs to up their hiring standards and hire people with ½ a brain instead of ¼.

Sorry! Since I am one that generally refuses to eat at fast food places, and in particular go through the drive thru, i agreed with my wife to try the new Montebello Mushroom Burger. The order as initially given was one MMB meal and one MMB only! There seemed to be some confusion and some difficulty understand why how the price was determined on that combination of items. At the window, more discussion concerning pricing with our side conceding reluctantly. We left. I have the bag with two MMBs and one order of fries. Wife is driving. She puts the large soda in the center console cup holder. I put the bag on the floor liner between my feet. When we got home (10 minutes) the bag was soaked with grease, and there was a small stain on the floor mat. I hope I can add the pictures. PS. The burgers were tasty.

Won’t let you do more than 2 separate orders in drive thru. Had to drive around multiple times to get orders. Really?

never had a problem here until tonight 2÷7÷15. the girl behind the counter kim v. is a real asshole. no ketchup, no taco sauce, no bbq sauce in the condiment containers so I had to ask for some. damn i’ll never do that again as long as kim v. is working there. what a piss poor attitude. i’m so sorry i’m bothering you. don’t you work here? the place is a pig pen with a who gives a shit attitude. bye forever dan

This is a great establishment. The customer service is exceptionally friendly and the service is fast.

One star because its Jack in the Crack. Why would you eat here?

Not sure how this jack in the crack has 4 stars, it sucks. It doesn’t seem to matter how many times you ask for NO SAUCE, because the mexicans flipping the patties/​pulling the fries out of the grease don’t understand enough English to get it right. Wait time is always horrendous, even with no line.

I have been a long time customer of this Jacks. Since they opened it. The food and experience has always been average but its very close to my house. Often times an average, convenient meal is just what daddy ordered, ya know? Never great but never horrible.
I stopped by a couple weeks ago for an oreo shake. I had the craving! They arent cheap, especially by themselves, but tonight it was happening. I get to the window and I get to meet a new employee. This guy looked like he hadnt showered in a week. His hair was filthy and sticking up all over the place with the hat on sideways. This guy obviously didnt take his job seriously at ALL. Guy keeps calling me Boss like he is fresh out of prison? I didnt get it. He didnt looks like someone I wanted handling my food. that much I knew.
No worries. All im ordering is a shake. The guy asks me if I want whip cream and a cherry. I said no thanks. I turn away a minute and then he hands me my shake. The shake is literally only up to an inch UNDER the cup top. I look at my inadequate shake and think about how much I gave him for it. He see’s me lookin at it and he is smiling «cya Boss». I didnt waste my time with him and just drove away. I shouldnt have to point out something so obviously wrong.
That dirty, inconsiderate server and the shake he stiffed me on cost you a long time customer. I’ll go to Graves and Broadway.

The Bacon Insider with a side of Sweet Potato Waffle Fries…
I have to say, commercials not only always make food look better, but also taste better. The sad thing is, sometimes when you meet up with the real thing, expectations do not get met. This was the case for the Bacon Insider, but not the sweet potato waffle fries.
The bacon insider does not come with ground bacon and ground beef, but rather bacon bits or in some cases larger pieces inside the patty. The burger came on a nice moist brioche bun which was actually quite good (
). The problem with the burger was the patty was a little dry and bland, which surprised me since there was bacon in it. (
). The patty was well charred and so were the bacon pieces. (
) I asked for light mayo, and the bacon mayo was actually good. I think light is the way to go, given its bacony flavor profile, it could overwhelm the burger. I think they would get better results from this burger, if they would actually ground the bacon and mix it with the ground beef, but it probably will not happen, given it would be more costly. Even so, at $ 4.99, the burger did not meet my expectations, but those sweet potato fries sure did.
The sweet potato waffle fries were better than I expected. They had great color, were perfectly fried, well seasoned with a crunchy exterior and soft center. (
) I would order these again with any future meal. Well done.
This particular location is actually pretty nice and a newer building. Service was pretty good, but the girl at the counter seemed a little, how should I say, not to happy to be at work.

Never thought I’d be writing a review for fast food, but these folks & this Jack in the Box are exceptional. They truly do make your food fresh to order, with a smile, no matter how busy they are. They season their burgers, elevating the flavor and thus changing the usual fast food «cardboard» burger experience.
Oh, and I always had a gripe with JitB tacos, as they tend to be disgustingly drippy with grease and topped with brown/​wilted lettuce. Here, they are crisp and have lots of fresh, green (!) lettuce and no grease overload.

I never order for myself, so they gave me the special. No hesitation, which I find important. If someone asks you to «give me something good, you pick for me» then you should know what is good on the menu.
I got a $ 3.99 big chicken club combo. By the way it was 830 in the morning, but I asked her to decide and she knew… it was really fresh and good.
6 year old daughter got a Waffle Breakfast sandwich combo that was WAY too big for a little kid. Again, not their fault.
I had ordered a meal to go and asked them not to make it right away. The manager checked on us and made sure to place our to-​go order with the cook right before we finished eating. It was coming out and ready when I walked up to the counter. WELL PLAYED.
Drink refills and everything was excellent. Was gonna give 5 stars, but then why would you read this? so 4 ½ here.

This review is based off of our drive thru experience;
Imagine a super stressed out mom, 3 super hungry kids and a drive through we never have been through or a place we never eat at. Confusing menu to boot. Why do they ALL hide the kids meals?!
I was the person I tease while waiting to place my order «It’s Jack in the Box, not the Ritz, just freaking order!!!»… Yeah, I get it now!
I effed up that poor drive thru girl like you wouldn’t believe. «No mustard, no pickles, no, on the other burger extra pickles, but no tomato, no lettuce…» Then the boy wonder wanted to add chicken to his fries and soda after all… I hated me! She was super nice, understanding and really patient. That’s 5 stars alone. However, being Jack in the Crack, I can’t give it 5 stars. I save those for 5 star places, fast food isn’t that. But that’s just me.
So yes, eat here. Good place, good employees.

I love how is place is open is 24 hours better yet the dinning room is 24 hours hours as well. My husband loves coming here after work a couple times a week since he gets off at 4:30am. The night time supervisor always remembers his order and is super friendly. The food is usually fresh as well. The place is also really clean for a Jack in the Box. Luckily it’s only a few blocks from my house. This is one of the few 24 hour fast foods in Santee.

Good when on the run or late night.

This place is alway clean and food is great around the clock its nice cause its always well lit and open ²⁴⁄₇ I can imagine business will pick up once the freeway connection is completed.
Its always a awesome substitute for when In and out or w/​e the meal of choice is closed because its late.
Jbox offers a unique fast food menu unlike any competitiors as well as breakfast lunch and dinner ²⁴⁄₇
McDonald’s has nothing on Jbox.

When this place opened few years ago it was good… but then it went south due to an assistant manager names Jame’s and his mother… longstory…
Now it is amazing… ordered 20 tacos for a crew the other day… got two bags, napkins and sauce — 5 min!
Simple order this morning, polite, thanking me, asking me if i got everything i needed… and they were busy!!!
