out of business. no need to go! Had our mouths set on some unique food, but alas the doors were shut forever. Luckily, town, with lots more options was close. Hopefully they will reopen at a later date.

Friends who own a cabin locally introduced us to Mezzaluna years ago. It’s a salt-of-the-earth little café off the beaten path just outside Saugerties village. The food is simple but good and the service is fast and very friendly. The owner made a point of walking around to the tables to chat with patrons, which contributes to that small-town experience. Plus the coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice are great!

Really really bad burgers. We had the regular one, the blue cheese burger, and the veggie; all three were very very weak and disappointing.

I love the Mezzaluna Benedict! It is to die for. A Mexican twist on a traditional dish.

This is a great find! We went there for breakfast and can’t wait to go for lunch. We had the breakfast panini which was great! also the eggs benedict was good but the best part was the corn cake that they use instead of english muffins for the benedict. The service was good we definitely will go back.

Eat here, the food is great, ambiance is cool, and very friendly service. After hiking Sugarloaf we have 4 very satisfied hikers from NYC. Loved the chicken & veggie Sloppy Jose. Pork quesadilla, hot chocolate & homemade gelato we’re also fantastic!

Cool ambiance, but the breakfast was disappointing. The food was drowning in grease and butter, making it unappealing. I had the veggie omelette which was supposed to have a variety of veggies, did not. Only some red and green peppers. Don’t think I’d come back.

Breakfast was so-so. Service is very good. Tofu scramble was extremely bland. Eggs Benedict were average.

Hudson Valley Magazine voted their Cuban sandwich one of the many Super Sandwiches of the Hudson Valley. I have went to several of these places and let me tell you this place is the BEST! Their Cuban sandwich is AMAZING! Can’t wait to visit again. Wish I could give more stars.

Such a cute little place. Sandwiches are around $ 8. I got a Chicken, fresh Spinach, Swiss Cheese with Honey Mustard Panini on their homemade bread. It was good, but I felt like something was missing. I got their Macaroni Salad as a side. Normally I’m not a fan but it was pretty good. I think they used that Barilla Plus pasta. It was peppery to the point where«wow there’s pepper in here» but just enough for it not to be to much. It was perfect. My boyfriend got their Blue Burger or something along those lines. In his words: «The first tim’e I’ve never needed ketchup on my burger.» I also took a bite and I’m not really a burger person, but I will defiantly be returning to get one myself. They used 90% sirloin. They make homemade Gelato, but it didn’t really have a creamy texture to it, more like an icy texture. I taste their Avocado one and it was wild. It was more a texture thing then the taste. I got the Amaretto which was pretty awesome, and my boyfriend got their coconut, which was amazing. I’ll also be returning in the colder season to try some of their lattes and coffee’s. They also make them frozen, so I just might stop in one day and try one out. For a drink we both got their house made iced green tea. Yum. Service was super friendly. The owner was our waitress and she was awesome. Will be returning. With all that bill came to $ 33.(ice cream jumped the price. especially since I got a waffle cone.) There is seating outside but only big enough tables to sit 2. Parking is in rear.

Breakfast and coffee are exceptional. Be sure to try the home fries. The service was friendly and attentive. They kept our coffee full and hot.

I travel to Saugerties at least once a year. I always make this one of my stops. The cuban is most excellent. Their version of eggs benedict is one of if not the best ever. Most likely because of the arepa cakes. I should look that word up as I am sure I have misspelled it. Coffee is good, people are great this should be a must on your list if you are in the area.

Mezzaluna is not a local café for me, it is a destination and experience. The 2 hour drive from NYC is well worth the trip. I don’t drink coffee, but will always have a cup from their special blend. The Mezzaluna Benedict is divine. The home fries are so delicious we always order an extra side. Live music, great artwork and ambiance, and terrific, friendly, personal service(I’ve been there three times and the staff remembered me!). It is ALWAYS a special trip to visit this charming little café.

Was out for a drive and as I was passing by I saw the sign mentioning homemade ice cream so I stopped in. I tried the chocolate and the strawberry and both were good. The strawberry had some ice crystals and it may have been in the freezer a little longer than it should have been to be served but still tasty.

If you do not feel like reading the whole thing… food was avg to above avg and the service was top 5 worst i have ever had. Those in the group who have been their before said they were a little slower and crankier then normal. overal interesting bfast(will explain below) but the service was so bad and the food was not good enough to make up for it… i will not be going back. So we went to this place for brunch(1130 am) this past Sunday with a group of 8. About five members of the group have been here before and decided it would be a good meeting spot for all of us. We were seated promptly and in a great spot. Their was a musician playing some light music(john denver, stevie nicks) and the place was full but not packed. Our table was visited by one of the crankiest servers i have ever experienced. I know some places that is the MO, cranky service from older ladies… but that is usually a diner thing… i was not expecting a side of bitch with my bfast… It took almost 45 minutes to get three bloody mary’s(pretty good, lots of horseradish kick, i give them a 3.5 out of 5) and then about another 30 minuted for her to take our order. The waitress was even mean to my gf’s gma and old aunt… it was hard to watch her take orders i was just uncomfortable the whole time… Now to the food… so i ordered the eggs Benedict but it had a twist… instead of the normal english muffins it was on top of a cornmeal cake(think firm round cornbread). The Benedict itself was solid, different but good. A little bit of sweetness came threw and it was good(3.5−4 stars of out 5). The side of home fries were some of the worst i have had(2 out of 5)…they had some onions with them but were extremely greasy… edible but not even avg Bottom Line: Place seems nice, food was avg but the service was so bad i will never come back. At least it was cheap/good value.

Tired and a bit delusional from four hours of driving, we were trying to find a place to eat at around 8pm, and weren’t having the best of luck. When we thought all hopes were lost, we came across this little bistro, unsure as to whether or not it was even an eating establishment at first. It was 8pm, and upon reaching the door we realized that Mezzaluna was in fact closed. However, the hostess Mary(who is really wonderful in all sense of the word) said we could come in anyway since the kitchen wasn’t closed yet and not much business had been there. That was start of a wonderful evening. The food is great, they even make their own bread! I had the roasted vegetable panini and the bread was toasty yet soft, the flavors infused together wonderfully, and even the potato salad that accompanied it was good. On the walls there is a bunch of artwork that you can look at, and there’s also a checker board you can play while your food cooks. Café Mezzaluna, te amo.

Went for brunch and had the verrry best time! I do love a good pancake and here they make a very delish corn meal one… complete with fresh fruit(YUMMY). We had a very fluffy and delightful all veggie omelet tht was just bursting with freshness… and the bestest OJ I think I’ve had in a while! Not every full parking lot will yield a great experience… but on that day the overwhelmed parking was its own advertisement… hooray for Mezzaluna!

How much do we like Café Mezzaluna? We’re spending the night nearby just so we can go there for breakfast.

I finally made it here after wanting to come for months, and I’m glad we did. Excellent food and very friendly service. I had the Cuban sandwich, which was better than I’ve had in South Florida. Wifey had a veggie wrap. For bruch the next week I had their Eggs Benedict, served with fresh spinach over a homemade cornmeal pancake. Outstanding! Wifey had a veggie omlet, which she loved. It’s always great to discover new restaurants in your own backyard, and we’ll be back to Mezzaluna.

What a delightful place! Three of my friends and I were staying in Saugerties for our annual trip to the NY Sheep & Wool Festival. We passes Mezzaluna, knew we had to stop, and were not disappointed. We ate Sunday brunch and it was excellent. The coffee was strong, hot and delicious, and one of our group got fresh-squeezed oj. Malta Goya is also available, making one member of our group very happy. Our meals were delicious and filling and reasonably priced. My tummy was very happy when I left. The décor is bright and charming and the service was very friendly and prompt. The owner stopped by our table for a little chat, she was delightful. Live music is offered on Sunday mornings, unfortunately we left right a the musicians arrived and remarked on how we would have loved to hear them play. Mezzaluna is a lovely little gem. We’ll definitely be back next year!
