If you know me, you know I’m constantly on the pursuit for the best burger in Savannah. This review is a two-parter: my initial impression of JJ Bonerz, and then, my second trip after bringing a friend. First time in – After a long Sunday morning, I stopped into JJ Bonerz for a burger to salvage the day. I sat alone, which can be very awkward, but for the most part, people just let me be. I ordered an angus burger, medium rare, with cheddar. There was a small wait, but hey, it was Sunday, and as long as the food came out correctly, I didn’t care about waiting a little while. Off the bat, I didn’t have many expectations. It was on River Street, and I wanted to eat in peace. As soon as I walked in, I saw all the college and NFL football decorations, I was expecting a charbroiled tailgating flavor. I was pleasantly surprised! My burger came out perfectly made to order. It was well seasoned, and complimented by fresh fries in a seasoned salt. This is what made it so good: every bite was juicy. The meat itself was seasoned, so even without a lot of exotic toppings, the burger was packed with flavor. The bun was also buttered, adding a nice finish to such a savory mouthful. My bank wasn’t broken either. The burger, fries and a drink all ran me under $ 12. Visit number two – So, where did they go wrong? After a night of dancing, my friend wanted the best burger in Savannah. I was convinced I’d found it, I brought her to JJ’s. We sat down in a practically empty dining room and waited for our server to take our orders. After we both ordered water, I think our server, Maddie, was over us. Maybe she thought this wouldn’t be a high bill table. I looked around, and at midnight, we were the only patrons that actually wanted food. Once Maddie came back around, we ordered burgers. I had the exact same thing as I tried on my first visit. I know I made sure to say, «medium rare,» because I hate burgers any other way. When our server left, we assumed the wait would be minimal. It was a ghost town, right? We didn’t get food until 40 minutes later, and when we did, it was clear the burgers had been sitting for a while. They didn’t have that straight off the grill feeling when we picked them up. I was a little disappointed, but my taste buds remembered the juiciness from my first visit, so I bit in with so much anticipation. Well, my burger wasn’t medium rare. It was actually well done. Maddie was busy fixing setups in the wait station, so I walked over to her and asked if she put our burgers in as medium rare. She assured me, she did. My friend and I didn’t want to wait another 30 minutes for another burger, so we just ate in sad silence. If you’ve ever been dancing all night, you know hunger hits you hard. Maddie told us there was nothing she could do t fix the situation, but her bartender, Kristina could. Long story short: Kristina did not visit our table. She told Maddie that if we were going to keep eating, she could only reduce the price to half off. We weren’t looking for a discount, or free food. We were just looking for some compassion, and a reason to give JJ’s another chance. Alas, the quest continues. I just hope that the future of JJ Bonerz involves a little more care, and maybe less assumptions.

I flew in from San Francisco for the best ribs in history. Also, killer wings, good selection on tap, and they know how to put together a solid playlist. Look no further.

Great sports bar. Christina is a Super waitress/bartender! Fantastic ribs, but seriously, the half rack will do.

Not a bad place. It is a dive bar. We only spent one night in Savannah and should have found a place more reflective of Savannah food. I am not against dive bars but this was probably not the right night for dinner there Prices were reasonable. Food was good. I think if I lived in the area, it may be a place I would go.

Service was terrible. The waitress was too chatty with other tables. We sat and wait 10 or so minutes before she acknowledged we were there. Longer than that for her to come back for our food order. On a Tuesday night they were out of cheese so no pizza. The food wasn’t the best. Would recommend skipping eating here and go to one of the other amazing places.

Place is a joke. Don’t place a late night Pizza order. There is a good chance they will take the order and not show up. Pretty despicable for the hungry traveller. F these guys.

Had a few drinks and some food here after a wedding in July. It was cool. I left my credit card and called the next day and they were cool enough to close out my tab and shred the card. Legit…2 Legit

When I am down here in Savannah this is always a bar I go to. Great prices and in the heart of downtown Savannah. Good prices and good times. A good first stop on a bar hop night or to go an enjoy some spirits with some friends. Also if you want a snack get the BBQ nachos.

Great place to watch the Green Bay packers play. The best part, is we got Jell-O shots when they scored. Lots of TVs to see the game, and good service.

My boyfriend and I were here on vacation this week and we just wanted to get some food and hopped right in. We both ordered the special Falling off Bone Ribs. Freaking amazing! I have never had such tender ribs before in my life. Highly recommend the ribs.

We stopped in here on a Slo-ride tour and for the short time we were there it was a fun place. The drinks were good and the bartender was fun. I would check this place out again for sure!

First and foremost let me preface this with I adore dive bars. However this is the worst of the worst dives that I’ve ever been. All we wanted to do was watch the us woman’s soccer game, along with everyone else in the bar, however; the bartender was so rude and condescending that we left during the 4 – 1 game(in the 28th min). The bar itself was fine, clean and a good layout for a dive, great crowd but the service alone will make me want to never spend another dollar in this establishment…

Service at the bar was smartly given by Troy. He was very attentive and we were served quickly. Had pulled pork nachos which were addictive Teriyaki chicken wrap was good! Good beer selection. Best bloody mary in the area. We’re coming back

The lemon pepper wings were really good and the homemade chips were delicious! The bartender(didn’t catch his name) was very friendly. He was the older one with the longish hair and beard. He was awesome! He suggested drinks and was very helpful. We went for a bar crawl and found out that it was a great place to watch the USWNT in the final four. We went back and the place was packed! So awesome to watch with a crowd. Especially such an under appreciated sport. All of the TVs had it on. But the the Cable went out(not their fault; it was out all over Savannah). They were very understanding to people who wanted to leave to find another bar. It came back on about 10 min in and we all celebrated with drinks. Overall great experience!

Yuck. Visited this place when a friend suggested we pop into the bar because it wasn’t packed with people. There’s a reason this place wasn’t packed. It was a place for someone other than me. The menu resembled something from any old American chain, was heavily laminated, and looked like a junior designer created it. It was just childish and silly, but so is the name of this place, right? We ordered beers, but of course they were out of our first choices and our server needed to get a confirmation of what they had because she wasn’t a beer drinker. She was a bit rough around the edges(which I actually like, as pretentiousness doesn’t get anyone anywhere), but I did expect her to at least know something about the beers they offered. There was a Keno game taking place, and one of the customers at the bar starting shouting, «Ok, everyone… everyone shout 36, 36, 36, 36!» He was very vocal and loud(not the bar’s fault) but it just added to this college-like experience. If you’re perhaps a college-aged guy just looking for some cheap Bud or whatever mass brewed beer is available, this is your spot!

Slowest service in town Not full & we waited 20 minutes for 1st drink. When it came, I ordered round 2. It had not arrived when round 1 was done.

Be warned– this is a Packers bar, however, they were very nice to my Bears friends fans which says a lot I suppose. Very casual, great service — I only drank, but my friends said food was great. They had ribs.

If I could give this place a zero I would. READTHESTORY I AMABOUTTOTELLFROMTHISWEEKEND. I will post a pic of the waitress involved as well. So it was my first time in Savanah. One of my 2 friends I was with left his card at another place so he left to get it. We told him, as we walked by JJ’s, that we’ll be here waiting having a drink. The bar was dead, maybe 12 – 15 people on a Friday night around 10 p.m. My buddy and I order two drinks and sit at a table. There’s 2 waitresses serving the floor, both cute and seemed fun at first. THENITHAPPENED! The very cute, petite waitress with tattoos walks up to the table of a 60 – 70 yr old man drinking by himself. She looks around, VERYSUSPICIOUSLY, a few times to see who’s watching and then proceeds to sit down. The man and the waitress scoot their chairs closer to each other and pass something under the table. What? I don’t know. Then she leans back in her chair, raises her foot in the air towards the man, with no shoe on. Then the man, disgustingly, starts sucking on her toes like they were some nipples in the middle of the freaking bar. For about a full minute! GROSS!!! I was the only one to see it. I immediately thought if THIS happens here, what else do they do when no one is watching? I got up, didn’t pay for my drinks that took 4 minutes to come out and left. What a unprofessional, SLEAZY waitress to do that during work in her workplace. The picture I’ll post is of the old man and him tipping her GREATLY for letting him fulfill his sick fetish for me to see. Will NEVERBEBACKTHERE!
