We went here for an early lunch on our last day in Savannah. I was worried because the average reviews were only 3.5. No idea why. The food was great. They had 3 different oysters, one being a fresh shipment the day before. They were all so good. The house oysters were only $ 1.75 and way better than any house oysters I’ve had anywhere else. I also go the shrimp and grits which were amazing, and a side of hush puppies that even held out until much later as a snack at the airport. My boyfriend got the shrimp roll and it was packed with shrimp. Also a nice fresh and light change up from all the fried po’ boy we had the day before. The bar tender was also awesome, friendly and attentive. I’d definately go back.

Good oysters and cold beer. We enjoyed the chefs sampler of raw oysters, tried 3 different kinds. Their Bloody Mary’s were good and you can’t go wrong with local beer.

Super fresh oysters, simple but not traditional menu, ice cold beer and it sits on the square. Great service, too. #sorrycharlies

April, the oyster shucker was phenomenal and served the best oysters we have had the pleasure of eating. They can’t pay her enough!

This restaurant/pub is amazing. They are new to Savannah, but definitely a great addition. We tried all of the wood fire roasted oysters and absolutely no complaints. Our favorite was the Casino and I bet if they would add jalapeño it would be our #1. The server Justin was very informative and amazing making drinks. Thank you Justin for your kindness and hospitality. We will be back

Absolutely wonderful!!! Delicious food and service. Wife and I started with a dozen house oysters steamed with a couple drinks. For lunch we both had oyster Poboy. Freaking awesome!!! Service was perfect. Manager came and spoke. Great place to chill!!!

Nice looking spot, but I just paid 12 bucks for 3 fish tacos that contained less than 2oz of burnt fish. The quality and portion size was laughable for a «seafood restaurant». Peace, I won’t be back.

Sorry Charlie’s should be my mecca in Savannah. The atmosphere is adorable and I love oysters. However, it falls short of amazing. During my most recent business trip to Savannah, I thought I’d broaden my horizons and not go hog wild at Paula Deen’s buffet again. Sorry Charlie’s was right downtown, and I am obsessed with raw oysters, so I figured why not. I grabbed a seat at the bar without a wait. The bartender was nice enough and gave a heavy pour of sauvignon blanc. I went for the chef’s sampler of raw oysters. This is where the problem occurred. It was a dozen oysters and no one bothered to tell me which ones were which. When you’re paying for a smathering of premium oysters, it would be nice if someone told you what you were eating. I did have the added bonus of sitting next to a couple on a first date though — talk about great eavesdropping when you’re dining alone. Did I enjoy it? Of course. Oysters and sauvignon blanc are at the top of my food pyramid. Did I love it? No. Service definitely could have been better, but I’m willing to give it another try.

The shrimp and grits were delicious and extremely creative– the pickled okra added an unexpected twist. Very reasonable prices for some great seafood. House fries were the bomb.

Sorry Charlie’s is great if you are in the mood for oysters and seafood. My husband and I love it here. The bar area is large and has about ten high top tables. The eat in area is a little small, but has great windows and atmosphere. The service is always great which is what keeps us coming back. I love fish tacos, but don’t like blackened fish so I always get them fried. So good. Never a problem to adjust a dish. Great service. Get the boiled peanuts in butter and hot sauce. So good!!! I get them to go usually so I can enjoy them later, but I am sure they would be good with a cocktail too!

I’ve been here about a half dozen times or so. Each time for lunch. I have only ordered one thing from the menu, the shrimp po’boy. I keep telling myself to try the oyster po’boy or something totally different but why risk it, haha. The sandwich is awesome, and has been consistently good each time. I always get the chili grits as the side, those are also very good. You cannot go wrong with this combo, its a Savannah style meal! The restaurant is not very crowded during lunch but the location/area is popular so I bet there would be a dinner crowd and would recommend reservations unless you are just walking place to place checking out the vibe/menu. City market is a popular area in the evenings along with Ellis Square. –Their sweet tea is spectacular –Underground parking at Ellis Square is close and convenient

Sorry Charlie… Im a fan of oysters and this app just didnt make the cut. It really left me wanting more. Perhaps the using bigger oysters may be a start, the cheese really overpowered the dish hardly tasted oyster at all.

So I’m a fan, even if it’s difficult to get seating during the peak times. The whole establishment fits me; the wooden floors, brick walls, exposed ceiling, and music selection. They have a couple big screen TVs playing sports too. The appetizers and entrée selection is seafood with a southern flair – but at a raised level in terms of preparation. If you like southern food, oysters, and beer, then this place is for you. It even has a great location just off Ellis Square. Without a doubt one of the top three Food/Drink locations in historic Savannah for me.

Really great oysters and awesome service during crazy St. Patrick’s Day weekend! We also go their Low Country Boil, everything was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. I was really surprised that they were so attentive while it was so busy and I am glad they were because I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Savannah.

My family and I had some time to kill so we decided to get some appetizers and drinks. Sorry Charlie’s was right by City Market so we decided to try it out. My mother and I ordered some drinks her the sangria and I the Stone Pony. Her sangria wasn’t bad but we both agreed that my drink was far superior. It was so good! If you are looking for a drink with a nice kick of heat try the Stone Pony! We then ordered a few varieties of oysters one of the cooked kinds and then some raw oysters. My mom and sister also got the she crab soup. They both said the soup was really good. The oysters were really good except for the fact that I got a little grit but only in one of mine. I heard someone at the bar raving how they always make the best Moscow Mules so I decided to order one with my choice of vodka. I have to admit I found that it was way too heavy on the line and had to ask for more ginger beer. This could of been a one off thing though, I’m not sure. Overall I would definitely come back if I was looking for some oysters or a seafood boil.

Pub Grub. It’s a place for drinking not eating, food was perfectly acceptable based on that premise. Nice bar area and if it was a fun filled night out I’m sure I’d be rating it much higher. Quick and helpful service too.

This place was great! We came in on a busy Saturday afternoon and got pretty good service and food! We order the house salad and hush puppies to start. The hush puppies were the best I’ve ever had… You must try them! Then as an entrée we ordered the local catch of the day which was mahi mahi with couscous which was out of this world! Give this place a shot

We came in for some quick apps and drinks before a dinner reservation. It’s a great atmosphere to do so. Not sure if I would have eaten dinner here, the menu didn’t sound overly amazing, but it was perfect for some oyster appetizers before a night out! We split the bourbon BBQ oysters, the butter garlic and parmesan oysters, and a third order of their special oysters. The bourbon BBQ oysters were a little too bold, but I liked the butter garlic and parmesan. You get 5 per plate — pretty good serving size! We also split the pimento cheese dip and the hush puppies, which come with a honey-sumac butter. Any time there’s a honey butter, I order something and immediately fall in love. This butter was no different! The atmosphere is great for socializing. They have a great bar with TV’s and plenty of seating by the window for good people watching outside and sunlight.

Oysters were good. Drinks also good. However, we sat at the bar next to the oyster shucker, and he was honestly terrible. First of all, they have 3 types of raw oysters, and when he served us, he had to ask a passing waiter what kinds they were(the waiter didn’t know either, even though I could see the ‘oyster board’ from my seat). He also only separated about ½ of the oysters from the shells, left a good bit of broken she’ll, and was complaining under his breath the whole time we were there. If you only have one job, you should do it to the best of your abilities. If you only have 3 words to tell the customer… make sure you have them memorized. These are my tips for the day.
