One of the best restaurants in Savannah — nice romantic atmosphere, delicious food, top-notch service. Their steaks are fabulous and they have a wonderful desert menu. A definite must when dining in Savannah!

My wife and I were wondering around, looking for a place to eat and came upon the The Sapphire Grill. what a find!!! Food was great, the wait staff was friendly and very helpful. Location was close to our hotel. I would highly recommend the specialty of the house. peppercorn grouper.

Had another delightful dining experience tonight with friends from out of town. The Sapphire Grill has been one of our favorite restaurants in Savannah for several years and tonight once again the meal was outstanding and the service impeccable. Several of us had the Tuna, which was exquisite. We also discovered tonight a nice variety of gelato, which was a perfect way to cap the evening.

Easily the best meal and cocktails my wife and I have ever had! We cannot recommend this place enough! This is the kind of food that rockstar chefs make happen. A dream in every bite.

Lovely waitstaff but food is over thought and not great. Ordered a lovely Malbec Rose to compliment the calamari starter. The calamari came out room temperature. In two corners were some toasted coconut and shaved horseradish. Though it tasted good the fact that it wasn’t hot wasn’t appetizing.(And greasy). Then ordered the bone marrow that was so over-complicated that I wish I had returned it. The cheese was so dominant that I put it aside. The most redeeming part was the mashed potatoes that was just meant to hold the bone in place. Don’t order this unless you want a greasy course. I have had great marrow but this wasn’t. Crème brûlée was good though over-ladened with whipped cream. The chef needs to reflect on his dishes that«less is more».

We were in Savannah to move Analis into SCAD to start her second year and I have to say the weekend was full of positive culinary experiences. Friday night started with dinner at Sapphire Grill. We were tired from the 7 hour drive and Sapphire Grill was just 1 block over from our hotel(Andaz Savannah). SAPPHIRECAESARSALAD. Meh! It’s just okay. It’s non-traditional. BENNESPECKLEDCALAMARIWITHTOASTEDCORIANDERPESTO. If you are a calamari lover, this is one of the best calamari dishes we’ve ever had. I still dream of those golden deliciously fried little dreamy calamari. CRISPNANTUCKETDIVERSCALLOPSANDCAVIAR. Delicious and perfectly cooked scallops, but the calamari were so much better. TENDERLOIN(PRIMEMEATSELECTION). My steak was amazing. The meat quality was on point. I really enjoyed this steak. I had it with the TRUFFLEBUTTERSAUCE but I have to tell you the WILDMUSHROOMDEMISAUCE was superb! I stole a little off Frank’s plate. :) We had MELTEDTOMATOES as a side and boy do these pack a flavor punch for being these itty bitty things and you can never go wrong with GRILLEDJUMBOASPARAGUS. Finally, for desert we had the TRIPLEVANILLACREMEBRULEE. The texture was awesome and the taste had a lot of potential but it had an orange aftertaste that didn’t appeal to me. I don’t remember the name, but I had a cucumber drink that was OFFTHECHAIN. It made me happy pretty quickly! :) My one complaint is that the manager seemed to have profiled us as soon as we walked in and while we were very under dressed for the place, I was a bit taken back by the 3 times he insisted we look at the menu before he sat us down. I guess maybe he thought we couldn’t afford the meal and wanted to make sure we looked at the prices before we sat down. Naturally, we declined to look at the menu and told him we specifically chose his restaurant for dinner and were not just a walk in off the street. I look forward to my return visit to Sapphire Grill.

We had been recommended Sapphire Grill by some locals. The place did not disappoint! The complimentary bread served with olive oil, freshly grated parmesan cheese, and freshly grated pepper was the perfect start to our meal. Bar drinks were also great. We ordered wild salmon along with the Potato Chevre Gratin. The food was the best salmon and potatoes we have ever eaten. Our server, Marshall, we outstanding!!! Very attentive, friendly, and not at all hovering. We will definitely eat here again!

So good here. Great drinks, ambiance, and service. We had a variety of their craft made cocktails like the mint julep at the bar before dinner. Then we had a variety of apps like the crab cakes, seared scallops, and grilled octopus with squid ink dyed dumplings. First 2 were nearly perfect — last one was off a bit. We then tried the seared duck, bouillabaisse with lobster, and grilled grouper(the house specialty). Again here, first 2 we exceptional but the grouper was a bit bland and almost rubbery. The duck was the best though. We also tried the rice grits and chèvre potatoes sides. Hit and miss here — grits were good(but better after I poured truffle butter on them) and the potatoes were just bland. Wine selection of was good but would of like to see more variety of crafter beer. Overall a good place and would come back to give them another shot.

I’m giving this place five stars because their tenderloin is AMAZING! It did take a while, but it was worth the wait. A little expensive but extremely recommended.

This place is amazing! A hidden gem! The duck breast and desserts were fantastic and I was shocked there weren’t more people there(I guess it was due to a Sunday slowdown). Overall it’s a great place with good service and nice quiet atmosphere. Excellent conceptualization of dishes with great flavor combinations, it’s an eclectic take on southern without the heaviness. The food has a nice French base without the formality while retaining a fine dining feel.

The service was impeccable but the food was just mediocre. I am sorry to report this as the ambiance of this quaint restaurant is excellent. For the price point, you have much better options when visiting Savannah.

If you like incredible, creative food & thoughtful service, you’ll love Sapphire. They’ll go out of their way to make your night special somehow. All you need to know is the reservation line, otherwise this place is a no brainer. I consider it one of the absolute best fine dining restaurants in town.(The redundantly visited Pink House pales in comparison.)

The food was amazing! It was my first time there and it did not disappoint. The hostess was very friendly. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and made sure he answered our questions. I had the chef’s special of a New York Strip with mustard greens, slaw and charred cauliflower. It was quite tasty. When I visit Savannahs, I definitely must visit again.

Just came to Sapphire Grill for a nice dinner, and was very impressed by the duck breast and crispy onions. I ordered the duck medium rare and found it perfectly cooked with a subtle garlic flavor and crispy flavorful crust. The onions were fantastically crunchy and light with a nice flavor on their own and made a delightful paring with the sweet potato hash, which pulled the whole dish together. Delicious! I’ll be back to explore the rest of their menu as it’s clear the chef knows what he/she is doing!

We had a lovely birthday dinner at Sapphire Grill. We were seated upstairs on the third floor(second floor is the kitchen), and it was a cool space, although a bit dark for my tastes. There were some very artsy photos on the wall. Our waitress Courtney was super chill and very conversational/friendly. One of the people in my party noted that she might have been a bit TOO relaxed for such a high-end restaurant, but I thought it was fine, and certainly appropriate for our group. She was fairly new to the restaurant, and had to read off her cheat sheet for the daily specials. Nonetheless, she provided excellent service throughout the meal, and we tipped her generously. I LOVED the complimentary bread, which came with freshly grated cheese drizzled with pepper and olive oil for dipping. The bread was soft and also warm and fresh out of the oven. My meal was also outstanding. I got the New York strip steak topped with oxtail meat. I am a HUGE fan of oxtail, which is why I picked the dish, but the 16 ounce steak was also cooked to perfection. I ordered it medium, and it was just the right amount of pinkness, with a tender and juicy center and nice crisp edges. It was a ton of meat, but I managed to finish it in the end. Pricey, but definitely super high quality, and a great place for a special-occasion meal. For the birthday girl, Courtney brought out a little birthday treat too! Very impressed, and my whole group had a memorable dining experience!

Ambience — romantic, low lighting, it was colder outside(50−60s), so we were already dressed for cool weather — didn’t notice it too cold inside, but I didn’t get undressed from any heat inside either. Service — was slow to medium tempo. Took us almost 2 hours from sit to bill pay, but it took us a second to pick our dishes. Drink selection — fair selection. I got an old fashioned. it was average: they use bourbon and contrary to my questioning, it did not look, taste, nor feel muddled.(Sapphire grill — ya gotta muddle AND leave it in the drink… it adds to the flavor.) Appetizer — got the scallops with bone marrow. Scallops were PERFECT: just tipped over raw onto«cooked», still juicy, grill marks, yum. The only complaint is they only serve 2, which looks to be the equivalent of «half» one full-sized diver scallop. The bone marrow — this was my first attempt at bone marrow and personally don’t see the hoopla. It’s a bland tasting gelatinous raw looking pink goo that is served as a bone cut in half and sprinkled with salt. Not sure if this is what it was suppose to be, but the salt on the«bone» was good. Entrée — I have lactose issues so am limited to certain entrees. We were told the benne encrusted grouper was ok for me to eat. We ordered it to share. But what arrived was a) not encrusted nor b) grouper. I know this b/c I eat fish and they split the same«fish» on separate plates. Well, the encrusted grouper was average — good flake, not fishy, not overcooked, crusting gave a nice simple little flavor. My fish? I want to say it was mahi mahi. The flaking on it was just too wide and thick to be the same of that grouper(very thin flake), but not as «steak-like» as the swordfish. Whatever it was, it was GREAT! I think it was a good exercise in «how far can a little salt and pepper» get a perfectly cooked fish? Sides — great julienned vegetables medium cooked, little soy sauce infusion. Mashed potatoes were good too. Overall: If you’re not use to seafood, and want to try it — the encrusted grouper is for you. If you like seafood, get a simply cooked fish, whichever one you know you like. I’m now kinda sad I didn’t try the tuna — I bet it would have been perfect and something I would talk about for a years! It’s just too bad this place doesn’t bill itself more as a seafood focused restaurant. They really know how to cook a fish(or scallop) and accentuate it in a simple manor. Negatives: time consumption, and of all the great food in Savannah, this is the ONLY restaurant that took us over $ 100. ANDWESHARED! and we only got two drinks! Still my belly thanks Sapphire Grill for being a truly great seafood break in an otherwise Southern cooking world.

Try the Modified Mule served in a copper highball«glass». Awesome. Excellent drink. Excellent eats as well. I had the grouper and it was smashing baby!
