Cozy spot. Friendly staff. Sushi made fresh in front of you. A lot to choose from on the menu. Good specials and combos. Clean restrooms.

Good food. Nice atmosphere. Pleasant people and staff. Good review! Ricky, the sushi chef, is outstanding with his prep and ideas. If you want something off the beaten track just ask him to come up with something. It will always be a pleasant surprise!

Went here few weeks back because the reviews were great and I was looking for really good sushi. The sushi was… okay. For me it was just basic and nothing exceptional. They staff was great and the food presentation was awesome but there is better sushi out there

Dined at Towa for the first time yesterday. I had the Poki roll, spicy tuna roll, and the cucumber roll. My favorite of the three was the Poki roll. My boyfriend ordered the jalapeño masago which went really well with the sushi, definitely try it. The sushi was good, not mind blowing. Attentive and friendly service.

Horrible service and mediocre food. The female server was very rude and my boyfriend’s food came out 15 minutes before mine. He got the chicken teriyaki, which was okay and I got 2 Cali rolls and 1 spicy tuna roll. Easy, right? Not for this place. After waiting an unacceptable time for my simple order, my food was given away to the wrong table. And the table came in and ordered after us. Was never spoken to nor apologized to. The manager apologized to the OTHER table about the mix up. Never to us who were the ones actually getting screwed. In the end I asked for a to go box and the check. Didn’t take my sushi off the check when I told them I didn’t want it anymore. This is the second time we’ve been here and both time it’s been a disaster. Sure wish Masato would open back up! Best sushi in Savannah. Never coming to Sushi Time Towa again!!!

My first time here was unpleasant. They forgot my order, I order two eel sushi, I only received one and I did not get my other orders which was the lobster sushi. I had to remind the waitress twice, i didn’t get all of my sushi. All of the waitress were awful, they did not refill my drinks. After sitting at the sushi bar, i was interrupted while eating the sushi, they asked me to move down a chair because two couples were coming in. They moved everybody at the sushi bar because two couples wanted to sit at the bar, but the entire restaurant tables were empty. They did not help me move my drinks and food. I accidentally spilled the food on myself. I only tip the sushi chef and left immediately. Horrible service will not come here again!

Great, casual place to go for sushi in Savannah. It’s a small restaurant located out of the way so it’s usually not too crowded. The food is consistently good and I love all the sushi I’ve had here. I recommend the Maitai roll, Philly roll, and the Montgomery Crossroll. The rose saki is pretty good. The prices are reasonable. If you’re looking for a casual, intimate atmosphere to eat sushi and have a few drinks with friends, this is the place to do.

Update. I was contacted by the manager after my last review. He was very nice and gave me a gift certificate. I went back and ate lunch with a friend. The food was great. Our sushi was ready in almost no time at all. Our service was still terrible. For being the only people in the entire restaurant, I was pretty surprised. I’ll go back again, the food really was good. I’ll just ask for a different server.

One of the best places in town to get sushi! Good prices for how good it is. Their teriyaki chicken is really good too.

This place has good sushi, which is a complete shame because I get the same apathetic server every time I go in during lunchtime. He’s always very disheveled looking, shirt messy or unclean. He is completely inattentive. I have never had him fill up my water even once. He offered once last time I was there when he brought the checks, but never came back with water. The last time I was there, he brought our food out while cradling the phone against his shoulder and talking to someone on it. Believe me, I’d much rather have our food sit in the kitchen for a minute or two than see that my server could care less about actual service. Other than that, Sushi Time Towa is the closest sushi place to where I live and I enjoy the variety and price. The atmosphere is nice if you can snag yourself a competent server. I’ll keep going, but every time I see him standing there looking like an unhappy middle schooler about to walk into the principal’s office, it depreciates my meal just a little bit. I’m not saying fire the kid. Just give him a lesson in serving and enthusiasm. It takes a lot to make me leave less than a 20% tip and this kid just about does it all.

I just spent $ 12 on two I the grossest rolls I’ve ever eaten. I couldn’t even finish them. The salmon was hard and rubbery. The Avocado roll was mushy. Not fresh stuff-especially for a sushi restaurant. Service was bad. Everyone around me got served even if they came in after me. I will not be back

Well, since this incident, from my understanding this waitress no longer is at this restaurant. HOWEVER… she did take it upon herself to FIND my phone number to text me about this situation nearly two months after the fact. I sincerely hope the owners do not endorse this behavior from employees, because I will never come back and never tell anyone to go here again if this type of behavior is condoned by management… Cecelia finding my phone number is creepy enough, I don’t care about what happened, I care that it happened in front of customers and that it affected our service in the restaurant… which was awful and I am glad this girl is gone from there!

When I saw the rating and reviews on Unilocal,I thought to give this place a try. I should have gone with my gut and headed out the door when I walked in. The entire restaurant lacked class. The wait staff was dressed way down in flannel and were completely awful. We saw three different waiters, none of whom were very friendly or interested in what we wanted. They forgot my husband’s drink and we had to ask three times for chopsticks. That was just the staff… the salad was half rotten and the sushi was below average. The filling looked to have been put in a blender and the rolls did not stay together at all. On top of the fish smelling very strongly indicating that it had been left out too long. I have never had to use so much wasabi and soy just to be able to eat sushi before. I will never go back to this place.

Love this little restaurant. It has everything you could want and need in an asian restaurant. The Geisha dinner is awesome and the Kat-Su chicken is great with the sauces or plain for kids who might have really only wanted chicken nuggets from McDonalds.

Used to go here every now and then when I lived in Savannah. Not a trendy place and out on the South side, but cheaper and just as good food as Sushi Zen downtown. Lunch specials especially were a great deal.

All I can say is this place has the best Sushi in Savannah. Their prices are great and their food is mind blowing. This is the one sushi place where I don’t even need a menu. I walk in, they ask for my order and I politely say«Surprise Me». After 2 years of frequent visits they have never failed to deliver the most delicious oceanic delights. Their Special Rolls change from day to day but they are the highlight of this place for me(Try the Magic Roll. TRUSTME). Not only is the food tantalizing to the taste buds, but the presentation of the food is immaculate. It literally looks like artwork. If you are in Savannah and you are up for a treasure hunt, then make this your first expedition.

This is our new favorite sushi restaurant in Savannah. Not necessarily the best I’ve ever had, but, it’s pretty darn good. On our first visit we were so impressed that we’ve been back 3 times in barely a week. The servers were very friendly and our food was brought out with perfect timing as we finished each previous appetizer or dish. I usually don’t even order miso but I had a sip of my husbands and it was so flavorful I ordered it on our next visit. My husband loves the amaebi complete with the fried, crispy heads. The ginger dressing is so good that when I got a side salad to go one afternoon(and when no one was looking), I shamefully tipped my container and drank the leftover dressing. Other great dishes are the lobster batayaki, shrimp shumai and OMG the tempura calamari is friggin’ HUGE and perfectly crisp, tender and delicious. Biggest and best I have ever had… I’m talking about the calamari still!

Sushi Time Towa is my go-to to get my sushi fix in Savannah. Yes, I do have a sushi habit. No, I’m not admitting that as my first step to recovery. It’s a disease I will have to learn to live with. See, whenever I’m having a conversation with someone and the subject of sushi comes up, it’s like this reminder that it’s been too long since I’ve had sushi. Even if I’m having the conversation in between bites of a salmon skin roll. Yes, it’s a problem. Anyway, there’s a balance to achieve when it comes to finding an ideal sushi spot and I feel Towa has best achieved it. Good rolls, wide variety, clean restaurant, fast service, and prices that don’t make you rethink how many rolls you want to get. So if you’re jonesin’ for some spicy tuna, stop in and top off.

Sushi Time Towa is just another sushi joint to me, with acceptable food and a rude little unctuous server. While there, I had the wasabi crab shumai as an appetizer. I let my friend try one, forgetting that she is especially sensitive to spicy foods. Her throat caught on fire, so she hollered for our pimply waiter to bring her something creamy, like milk or ice cream. Her supplication could have been construed as rude, but that doesn’t excuse the floppy fledgling’s behavior. He slammed a bowl of ice cream on the table and walked away, ignoring my friend’s apology. I ordered a Savannah Spring Roll off the sushi list, in the spirit of my trip, expecting a sushi roll with a light, springy flavor. Instead, I was served an actual spring roll. I topped off my meal with my staple green tea ice cream. Oh, and the oily boy didn’t come back to the table, surely aware of his classless actions.

I’ve only ever gotten sushi here so I can’t speak for their food but their sushi is always good and fresh. They have a lot of rolls to choose from(more than your average sushi joint) including a few that are tempura fried and sooo good. Their Savannah spring roll is also highly recommended. Prices run anywhere from $ 6-$ 12 per roll which I think is a little high but I’m willing to pay that for a good quality product.
