Really enjoyed the food. Service was great. What made us stop in was the host standing at the entrance. Great personality!

We were in town for the weekend and Shrimp Factory was recommended to us by a tour bus driver. Let me say that I don’t usually take time to positively review restaurants. More likely would be me posting a negative experience and thus saving someone from having a bad meal or service. But in this case, several things stood out. The staff were all attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and quite enjoyable. Our cocktails(which I’m picky about) were perfect. The Caesar Salad was utterly fantastic. The rest of our meal was very good, but nothing over the top delicious. Everything was served in a timely manner, cooked and seasoned very well. The people make this place.

We came in here for a late lunch after doing the Old Town Trolley tour and by recommendation by someone who had been to Savannah before. Once we got there, we were immediately seated. The table we were seated at was interesting unto itself. The table was near the restrooms and the tables are already tight together in the dining room. As people would pass through to go to the restroom, they would constantly bump into the table, etc. A few minutes after being seated, our server came to the table to take our drink orders. Once she came back with the drinks, she also took our lunch orders. For lunch, I had the local shrimp fry, which included fried shrimp, coleslaw, hush puppies, and seasoned fries. The seasoned fries were really good. Overall, this was a good lunch spot with good food and good service. I’d stop back in here again if I’m staying in the area.

I wanna start by saying I have no idea what any negative review is talking about. And I hope, if you didn’t enjoy it, you’ll try again. Per usual, you won’t hear from me unless I really enjoyed a place, so here I am. Reviewing. I loved this place! If you’re not from Savannah(and I’m not) it’s a bit difficult to find. But that was part of the fun. And it’s right on the water. So, as soon as I walk inside the hostesses were on top of things even though it was a bit busy. Super friendly and smiley. Our waiter, Jeff, was there to greet us, even though he clearly had a big top, and several other tables. This place is big enough for all of your dinning needs AND has an attached lounge with live music! They have a ton of happy hour specials which, I believe are almost always on, margaritas, mojitos, and bloody Mary’s. We started with a boiled shrimp appetizer which was great. The bread was fresh. And the side salad, they mix right at your table. Which was also really good. It’s just ceasar, but we’ve all had a bad one at some point to make us appreciate the good ones. I then ordered the blackened Mahi over linguine and broccoli. My bf ordered creole shrimp over rice. He inhaled it! So I’m guessing he loved it. Every staff member was super friendly, the place was clean, the food was really good, and the night life was fun. Go. Eat. Here. And, have fun.

Whoever is ranking this restaurant high has not tasted what good seafood is. We had great service this past weekend and were seated in a timely manner, however the food for the cost was definitely sub-par. We had the coconut shrimp appetizer, which was overcooked and barely had a coconut flavor. The pasta was also disappointing. Seafood not flavored well. I do not recommend this restaurant. Way too pricey for the quality of food.

You can tell a lot about a place when the employees have big smiles on their faces and radiate positive energy because they’re having fun at work. We stumbled across this place while walking along the river. It was chilly and I saw a sign for warm, boozy drinks so I forced the bachelorette gaggle of hens here. They had a chalkboard of great happy hour type specials. Four of us sat at the bar, the other seven just behind us at a couple tables they pushed together. The bar staff did a great job taking care of our large party. Our group ordered a variety from the menu during our afternoon here. Oysters, shrimp, soup, mimosas, tequila, more tequila. Ouch. I thought the oysters were good sized and delicious. The couple sitting next to us at the bar got the Pine Bark Stew signature dish. It comes out in a giant kettle. They were nice enough to let me try it. It was delicious. A warm bowl of comforting seafood goodness. They had a guy playing live music, made the bar area fun. Kudos to the bar staff who let us come up to the bar, tell them what we had, and pay our tab one by one. Yes, we are those people. Please, don’t be us. :)

I hate to give bad reviews, but this was the worst we’ve had in Savannah. and quite possibly anywhere. My husband picked this place on a whim. Maybe it was an off day?! everything was sooo greasy we were disgusted. I cannot recommend this place. The place seemed clean, which is good(though the booth they seated me in was totally filled with crumbs, I was still wiping them off my ass hours later). One would think they’d wipe that down especially since there was barely anyone in there so it couldn’t be an excuse of not having the time. Our waitress was very nice. and the 2 hosts(one outside and one inside) were as well. However, there was a woman bartender complaining to another employee. something about not possibly being able to be ready in time and having to lug stuff down from upstairs, yata yata. but she was super loud and it’s quite obnoxious for those of us attempting to enjoy a meal. We ordered a shrimp and crab bisque, which another Unilocaler recommended. I didn’t like it at all. My husband ate it and said it was okay, but def not a bisque. It was really thick and chunky like a chowder.(I hate chowder. maybe they should change the name?) I never met a coconut shrimp I didn’t like and want more of, until here. They were sooo greasy! I used my paper napkins to dab them each(and I don’t dab pizza, so no, it’s not a normal thing for me). We also had the crab/shrimp/spinach/artichoke dip. again, looaaads of grease! The chips, should have been crispy. but instead, were soggy in grease. I did like that both this and the chowder/bisque had a couple whole mini shrimp in them to help you know it’s really in there. It would take a lot to get me to go back. Or, just hold the grease???

Great place for dinner loved the Ceasar SalAd made fresh at the table. We enjoyed the fried seafood, my husband loved the pine bark stew and the shrimp and crab au gratin was enjoyed as well. They had live entertainment and I love you can take your drinks to go. Our server was helpful and friendly as well.

Sorry to report I saw two roaches in the bar area at this restaurant. Disgusting. Ruined the entire experience. Very very unfortunate because they probably have good food.

I didn’t eat at the Shrimp Factory, but it looks like a large spot good for groups with a basic menu. I get the feeling they’re used to dealing with a lot of drunk people. Women’s bathroom stinks pretty bad. Feminine funk. Bartenders are busy, busy, busy, but friendly and fast. I came for the Chatham Artillery Punch $ 10, which wasn’t as sweet as I expected it to be(that’s a good thing), but also wasn’t as potent as I expected it to be(that’s a bad thing).

We just sort of stumbled upon this place after searching the historic district for a bite to eat and coming up with little! Not that there aren’t options, mind you, but traffic and crowdedness were big considerations. To the point… The food — I would call it «good.» Nothing really envelope-pushing or mind-blowing. The seafood was predictably good and the side dishes were just the same. I had a sampler of the local seafood — shrimp, oysters, flounder, and the deviled crab cake. My wife had the Pine Bark Stew, and she raved about this specialty of the house! The service — really good. We had a super attentive server who offered up some great suggestions and kept us in drinks all night long. She was a gem. The atmosphere — think Red Lobster if it wasn’t a chain. Mellow, pseudo-antebellum décor with a hint of modern tourist edge. There was a fellow playing music in the lounge, as well. All-in-all there were really no surprises here. We would likely come back for a lunch or dinner the next time we’re in Savannah!

A perfect place for my first night in Savannah. From the bar you can see the water and passing boats/ships. Don’t miss this place if you’re in Savannah.

Great little place on River street. Rustic, southern style seafood, mostly fried platters and yummy big salads.

Were visiting Savannah just for the day. Had come over from Hilton Head by boat, gone on a tour of the city and wanted to grab lunch before we boarded the boat to return to Hilton Head. After walking around a littl and perusing various menus, we decided the Shrimp Factory was a good option. I ordered an iced tea which although obviously fresh, was still warm, so the ice in it melted quickly. I had to ask our waitress to bring me more ice. Both of us ordered the shrimp salad sandwich — one with Ceasar salad and one with the chowder. Husband ordered his on rye bread and I ordered mine on wheat — toasted. Service was a little slow, but we didn’t mind and had extra time. Our lunches were brought to us and mine with the chowder was on rye bread — not wheat. Husband got the wheat. Neither was toasted and I had specifically asked to have mine toasted. The shrimp salad inside the sandwich was very tasty. Unfortunately, the chowder with mine was awful. First of all, there was no spoon and the waitress said she would bring me one. Well, it took her so long that I had time to ask who appeared to maybe be the manager for one. While he went to get a spoon, the waitress did appear with one — -she had another table’s good so apparently was getting that together while getting my 1 spoon. The chowder was the poorest example of chowder I’ve ever had and being from New England, I’ve had plenty. The flavor was good, but it had nothing in it. It wax primarily a creamy broth with one shrimp and a few kernels of corn in it — -very disappointing. Our server was pleasant and I’m sure the chowder lacking is nothing to do with her. It did seem like our order was a simple one and the correct bread and mine being toasted should have happened. Also, Should have not had to wait for a soup spoon. Would we go back? Probably not.

In the mood for shrimp and tried this place. So glad we waited a few minutes for our table. Being tourist we decided to try a few things: tossed Caesar salad, ½ lb boiled shrimp, fried calamari and the shrimp, crab, spinach & artichoke dip. The only thing I wasn’t impressed with was our shrimp & corn chowder due to the broth being very soupy while we expected thicker for a chowder. Highly recommend this nice restaurant. They also had great live entertainment with the young lady singing various songs. I would visit again when I’m craving calamari or shrimp and in the area. :)

My wife and I choose The Shrimp Factory because of the reviews on Unilocal. Our appetizers were crabcakes and fried green tomatoes. I thought the crabcakes were very good I was not crazy about the fried green tomatoes. The entrée was a fillet and fried shrimp. The fillet was one of the very best I’ve ever had I actually could cut it with my fork. The shrimp was was good but I’ve had better. I would definitely recommend The Shrimp Factory, if ever in Savannah it’s worth a stop.

Stopped in here to grab a quick Bloody Mary for the road, mostly because they had a sign outside that said $ 5.00 bloody Mary’s and margaritas all day. We sit at the bar and My husband told the bartender«we will have two of your finest Bloody Mary». They were pretty good, sat there drinking them instead of walking with them. When we were done, we asked for the check and it was $ 14??? So we asked why? If the sign outside said $ 5. Their exact words to us were«well, you asked the finest Bloody Mary» really? So, the other one they make is crap??? It was a figure of speech!!! With tip and and everything they turned out to be $ 18 for two and the cups were pretty small. The only reason they are getting 3 stars is because they did taste good.

After walking River Street and trying to find somewhere to eat we landed here after it had the best reviews around. Upon arrival, wait wasn’t super long we we had our names down and decided to go check out the river and some other shops around. We got the text so we hustled back. Got sat and got waters all around as we started the day at Wet Willies. Waitress was pretty good, she explained every dish we had questions on and sold it to us. I decided on the Classic Savannah Crab meat Stuffed Flounder as it sounded great on paper(Big fan of crab) and it read«fresh caught flounder stuffed with native deviled crabmeat and served with haricots vert» I was reading it and got like damn, that sounds pretty good. Came with a side salad which was phenomenal, and some rolls paired with pimento cheese spread, probably the best thing i had at that restaurant, After done with our salads and rolls, the entrees came in. Mine looked pretty good, just lacked a ton of taste, rice was blend, fish needed salt and some spices to it, as the chef used some sort of wine-sauce that i just did not enjoy. My buddies tried the Cajun chicken Alfredo, which he left half of it on the plate because of the same issues i was having, lack of taste. Overall, after reading the reviews I thought that id have a better experience, maybe it was just the day. Oh well. I’ll try something else around the area next time.
