One of my favorite restaurants in all of Westchester! I haven’t had a bad dish here but make sure to order the lobster tacos. I have gone here with some picky eaters but their menu is varied enough that everyone was able to find something they liked.

Whoever they have as the meat purveyor at Chat deserves a raise. Their burgers are always amazing and I never pass on the filet mignon if it is on the specials menu, because it is better than Morton’s or Ruth Chris. Only downside I find at Chat can be the noise level sometimes makes it less than stellar, but it hasn’t stopped us from coming back again and again.

I enjoy going to Chat especially when we get to sit outside in the patio area. The food is excellent, I had the salmon. I thought the service was great. However I also felt I was trying to be upselled during the menu reading. It is Scarsdale and that’s probably why… they need help paying that big rent!

My Mom is 89, blind and hard of hearing. Upon arriving, on a Thursday evening, I asked the manager if he could give us a quiet spot. We ended up in the corner with was ok. 10 minutes later he stayed a boisterous crowd of 5 right next to us, even though the restaurant was half empty. We had to move, which was quite hard for my mom… We will never go again.

The pizza and short ribs are very good. Great martinis. Service is good, bartenders are friendly and know how to make a drink.

Met my girlfriends for Sunday brunch. Most of us from Long Island, but the birthday girl lives in Westchester. Salads, omelets, steak sandwich etc… all met normal expectations. It is January but I can imagine that when the outdoor courtyard is open this place is especially special. My only complaint was the mimosa drinks. They were good but small, like the size you get when a cocktail comes with brunch. The birthday girl alone ordered 3 because they were very small. Those 3 drinks were $ 27, add tax and tip to that and you are talking $ 35. Not worth it at all. This is a cautionary warning to all. Other than that all thumbs up.

I enjoyed my visit to Chat! The service was fantastic. I ordered the onion soup which was very good, the Chat burger was on the money cooked to perfection, the fries were disappointing as they were a bit soggy. BUT the Chat Bites are fananomal!!! The Chocolate ones and the Banana ones served with the Raspberry sauce and the Chocolate sauce were well so good! Overall I would come here again.

I am floored to see any negative reviews on this fantastic restaurant! I live locally and frequent this place often! I have NEVER had a negative experience and cannot even imagine using the word«average» for any of their dishes. The tuna tartar appetizer is delectable and my favorite all time dish was their special menu item of Chilean sea bass. I have never had a better dinner out than that one! I’ve tried so many of their regular menu items, and one dish is just better than the next… you just can’t go wrong! It’s the first place I think of when someone asks, «Where should we go?» If the owner, Mario, is there, he makes his rounds and visits your table with his delightful personality. I eat out often, have a gourmet pallet, and know good food… This place is a definite GOTO!

Food is very average. It’s a major«Scarsdale» scene with air kisses all around and patrons looking at IPhones more than dining companion. If you want the town to know with whom you had a meal, this is the place for you. No other reason to go.

Chat is average at best. Countless aspects of the food service could be greatly improved, with little effort, yet they don’t. For example, the bread served as you wait for your order – it is not heated. The result is stale-ish bread that, if heated would be quite good. The kobe burger, which would be good, is buried in the most idiotically huge roll – so you have a very good piece of meat that is overwhelmed by the bread – my son ordered a regular burger – same thing – so the end result is a pretty crappy burger, instead of an above average one – unless of course you want to try and rip off some of the bread – but that gets messy. My mother ordered a lobster salad – served with a vinaigrette — no choice here – and when it comes to a salad of this type, some people(like my mother) prefer mayo-based dressing – but again, no choice, so the dish is a «C» at best. They do get good crowds, which I believe are folks that either don’t care, or don’t know the difference when it comes to whether food is good or not – but, since they get the crowds, I assume they have no motivation to improve. My advice is find another venue

The predatory and money-hungry nature of the proprietors of Chat is felt from the moment the servers try to upsell you on water. «Would you like tap water or the sparkling, bottled???» Glasses of water are fine, thanks. The feeling is further compounded every time a server brings you something. The table the four of us were sitting at was so tiny that the server was constantly trying to rearrange everything to make room. There are so many of these tiny tables densely packed into the crowded restaurant that it was hard to get out of your seat and go to the restroom without bumping into another patron. I can’t really blame the proprietors for trying to maximize profits, but it is my opinion that the restaurant is very cramped. Talking about maximizing profits, Chat’s overly-priced appetizers are the epitome. We ordered 12 $ dollar chicken wings and received 6 of the smallest wings I’ve ever seen. I’m not claiming to be the arbiter of everything that is chicken wings, but I equate charging 2 $ a piece for those things to a war crime. I considered the service to be excellent. The servers were extremely polite and went above and beyond anything one could hope for. The food was also very good. I wholeheartedly enjoyed my $ 19.50 bacon cheeseburger and $ 2 wings. I have no complaints on these fronts. Chat is obviously a very popular restaurant. The demographic it caters to in Scarsdale might not care about high prices or being packed into the restaurant like sardines, but its a major turn-off to me. I do understand that Chat is located on prime real estate in the Scarsdale Village and must have a massive overhead, but I find it hard to believe that the owners are struggling. I would give Chat 4 stars but I was so appalled by the chicken wing appetizer that the best I can do is 3.

Ate there Sunday night. Nice al fresco dining. They come to your table immediately. If you like good service, this is the place. If you like a good burger, this is the place. $ 13 for a regular burger, Captain Lawrence on tap. Good wine and beer list. It is always easy to say Yes when somebody says, «let’s go to Chat». Burger was cooked perfectly. I hate them overdone.

Visited on a Saturday night with some friends from the area who had been there before and liked it. We had a reservation for 4 and they honored them on time. There was an immediate language barrier with our waiter so we had to work through that. The bread and butter they provided when you sat down was basic but fresh. We started with the Lobster Tacos and Shrimp and Vegetable Dumplings as appetizers. The tacos consisted of 3 hard shells that were stuffed with lobster and fillings. Very good. The dumplings consisted of 5 that came with a very tasty sauce. The dumplings had a nice hard skin that didn’t break when you grabbed it with a fork. After we ordered our main course, we realized the waiter never read us the specials for the night. How did we find out? We overheard the waitress tell the table next to us. That was a bummer! I had the Baby Back Ribs with French Fries and my wife had the Chat Stir Fry. Our friends had the Lobster Risotto and the Jambalaya. My ribs were tasty and the meat came off the bone with ease. The fries were crispy and overcooked. i don’t know if that’s the way they make them there. My wife loved her Chat Stir Fry. My friend loved his Risotto and finished everything while his wife was satisfied with the Jambalaya. Each portion was generous and I was happy about that since I love to eat. The service was very good and we got through the language barrier. The place is very trendy, clean, and modern with a nice outdoor patio. Although it looked fancy, there were plenty of people dressed very casual with shorts and sneakers while others were dressed business casual.

Chat is one of our regular places in Scarsdale. The location and ambience is just beautiful. The interior is nicely decorated but their party piece is the gorgeous outdoor patio. It is such a lovely place to dine, especially in the summer on Thursday nights when the town orchestra plays in the adjacent Chase Park. The food is consistently good and they have plenty of nice choices. I recommend the lobster tacos, short ribs, and jambalaya– my favorites. The only thing would be that the menu tends to be a little continuous given the amount of times that we come. Nevertheless, the food is always delicious. It is usually fairly crowded so reservations are a good idea. Service can be a little slow when crowded as well. Be sure to ask for a table outside when its nice out though, it really is the cherry on top of the cake when dining at Chat.

Eaten at Chat a number of times over the last few years. Always a good experience. Beautiful décor, nice cocktail list and the food is delicious. Lobster tacos and crab cakes are my go-to apps and the angel hair pasta and seafood ravioli are very good entrees. Definitely my favorite spot for dinner in the Village.

I have been here for both lunch and dinner, and it is one of my favorite places to go. The lobster tacos and tuna are my favorite, and they have a ton of gluten free options as well. People keep saying it’s overpriced, but it’s SCARSDALE. Everything is overpriced in that town. Well worth it, and I will continue to frequent this place.

This place is beautiful, it has a cozy dark atmosphere, gorgeous chandeliers and a great bar! Our greeting and table were very professionally handled and we had an overall great meal, huge portions! We all started with the carrot soup, delicious, flavors were greatly complimenting each other. Greatness is in simplicity! Then I had the homemade meatloaf wrapped in bacon with mashed potatoes and garlicky string beans, loved it! I have said it before, but I am reiterating, bacon will make anything amazing. My plate could have easily served 2 people, but it was so good that I still ate everything haha. I had a bite of the tuna steak, I don’t think it was properly cooked: okay for rare but the inside was still cold and the outside seemed to have been barely flashed… This needs to be revisited. Only complaint!

So let me start with all of our entrees were very good and the décor is nice as well. The gentleman that brought us water was a sweetheart and the only reason we left a tip. That’s about the only good things I am going to say. Service was just bad. 1.We had reservations for 6 which were put under a first name instead of the last name even though we repeated and spelled that 5 letter last name at least 6x when we called. Our table was not ready. Ok, it happens but we were left standing in front of the main door for ten minutes so we could get hit by every person coming in. No offer of a drink at the bar etc. 2.) If you enjoy sitting on top of strangers this place is perfect. Talk about maximizing profit by squishing in to many tables. Very uncomfortable. Don’t want to talk to your companions but scream to be heard over the people 2 inches from you? Again perfect. 3.) Two small tables were pushed together for us in front of their secondary glass entrance door. Myself and the birthday girl enjoyed the ice cold breeze in the 23 degree weather. 4.) Our waiter was there to do us a favor not actually wait on us. He read us the specials and walked away. Only came back 10 minutes later when we asked someone to get him. We were ready to order before he ever read them off but he wouldn’t know that because he never asked. Never came to check on us and so not friendly. Anything we needed we ended up asking the gentleman who brought us water. He came over when he saw us sitting and waiting and waiting… 5.) I ordered the lobster and crab ravioli, 21 $ for 5 small ravioli. No salad or anything you might expect. They were very good though. 5.) Dessert was awful. Chocolate mousse tasted freezer burned. Chat bites(small pieces of fried chocolate and banana cake) tasted like pure grease. Usually if a server sees you left something untouched on your plate they ask why. Of course not ours. We went on the recommendation of a friend. Maybe it’s very different on weeknights when they usually go. When we heard it was the same owners as Lusardis and Moscato we thought it would be excellent. I can forgive a lot if the service is good and friendly but this was just a bad experience we won’t be repeating and definitely not going on my list of places to hit for business dinners.

Have been there several times and the food is average — nothing special and certainly no flair to the food or presentation. Pleasant atmosphere and wait staff as well as a good location. The dinner consisted of the taco lobster(3 hard shell tacos with lobster filling), fried calamari, angel hair pasta and salmon. The tacos are usually tasty with a lemon or lime zest and the veg and crunch give both texture and taste. Good presentation also with the color of the tacos. The calamari is frozen, over breaded, oily and certainly more chewey than normal — not a great dish. Good sauces and OK presentation in frier type container. The angel hair was cooked well and the sauce was rich. Shrimp was half generic half larger — bizarre situation to see the larger shrimp with the split down the middle and the small generic frozen shrimp as well… interesting. Salmon was cooked OK with the bok choi crunchy. Basic prep — nothing special. I find the food to be generally bland and the flavors not coming together well. It is a convenient spot so we do brunch sometimes on Sunday but other than that, I would say this is a basic diner dressed up as a grill…
