Steve’s Grilled Cheese & Quesadilla Company

As a kid, I used to have grilled cheese all the time but I ate so much of it I became satiated. I didn’t eat it for years until this weekend. Most people recommend the grilled cheese cheesesteak, but after having cheesesteak from somewhere else in the morning I wanted to try something different. The creative options Steve’s Grilled Cheese had was great!
I ordered a buffalo chicken cheese sandwich with tomato soup and an order of the Mac and cheese bites. I usually take a photo of everything I eat but this food smelled so good, so I managed to take only one blurry Mac and cheese bite photo. The buffalo chicken was flavored just right and completely went with the delicious tomato soup. I was under the impression the Mac and cheese bites would be small but they were large portions and they were very savory, especially with the cheese dipping sauce.
I’m giving this place a 4 because it did take awhile to get my order. I understand that I came in with a larger party but other parties who had come in and given large orders as well were given their food ahead of me. Not sure how they run the orders in the back but it was a little out of order and I did get a little impatient waiting. Regardless, I would came back again and try other things on the menu. I was not disappointed with the quality or quantity of what they gave. I definitely recommend this place!

So they told me 15 mins on the phone for pick up. I go there pay and wait 10 more minutes for the food to arrive. Come back to eat it with fam only to find out my chicken tenders were underdone and SOGGY. Everything else was perfectly fine but the half fried chicken tenders wasn’t. grilled cheese was good and thats about as good as its gonna get. I would go again and just get the grilled cheese. I also told them about it but again it would have been another 15 min wait.

There was excellent food and great service. I would recommend it to anyone. As a tourist, sometimes it’s hard to find a good restaurant out of town or state, but when you get lucky I think you’ll find it’s extremely satisfying.

I don’t even know where to begin… After salivating over the menu and noting the «free beach delivery» we placed our lunch order. An hour and fifteen minutes later I called to check on the status of our food and was told «all the deliveries just went out.» The food came after another twenty minutes or so passed and we had to meet them on the promenade to pick up our order. The grilled cheese had re-​solidified and the fries were cold and soggy. I imagine the food would have been better if it was still hot when we received it but even then it would have only been okay at best. Most definitely not worth the wait! We will not be eating there again.

If you’re looking for a good late night bite that satisfies all your cravings, this is the place! So simple but so delicious!

5 stars hands down. Wasn’t so sure about this place when we walked in but Holy Spirit of the people this was good. Got the Buffalo chicken nachos and the cheesesteak quesadilla. So good. Go!

Shut the front door. This place rocks. Do you want delicious food and awesome service? I thought so. Get here. Like, yesterday.

I really wanted to like this place so I will most likely give it another try. However I went at night when it was not crowded maybe one other group was in there and we waited forever! After about 20 minutes we checked in with the staff because we only ordered two grilled cheeses and she just said it will come… The sandwich itself was tasty but not worth waiting a half hour.

Eeehhhhh it was ok. As excited as we were about getting a grilled cheese, we were slightly let down. The fries were soggy, the tomato soup was bland and the sandwiches were not quite cooked long enough. It was acceptable but not even close to great.

Food wasn’t bad by any stretch of the imagination BUT the swarm of flies in this place was very off putting. There are ways to combat that type of thing, maybe they should look into it. The service was great, the prices are great and the food was great but none of that matters if the place seems unclean. Must do better in that respect.

Decided to come here after a beach volleyball game the other night. I realized they had good reviews so I was excited to Try it out. They greeted us as soon as we walked in, and started to clear a table for us to sit at. Once we sat down, there was only one server on so it took about 15 minutes just to get our drinks due to the waitress cleaning the tables and writing up take out orders. We ordered right away and told her that one other person is going to join us… She told us we better put the order in now because the food takes awhile to come out. The food came out in 25 minutes probably and the tomato soup was very watery. If you are going to serve soup with a grilled cheese, it needs to be better. The French fries were pretty good and the caprese grilled cheese was average. We ordered chili nachos for an appetizer and when we were finished with our meals, they brought out buffalo chicken nachos which we did not order. They mentioned how they were out of chili, but I am confused on why they would bring us something without asking what we wanted instead. Overall, food was average but they need to work on the service. I think using the iPad to write the order was a mistake because it slowed the operation down. Last comment about this experience was when we went to pay… I probably waited 5 minutes up at the register to pay for my food. I understand that they were short staffed but it should not take that long to ring up a receipt. I probably will not be back until they figure out the service issue.

Food is so good, unfortunately the service is terrible. I continue to come back in hopes the kinks are worked out, but it’s always the same. Servers don’t know the menu and cook time takes way too long, always running out of food. Fix the service and you would have to expand your business because the food is great.

I visited Steve’s Grilled Cheese on Fourth of July night in Sea Isle, and had been dying to try it for some time. The food is fantastic, though the experience itself left a lot to be desired. The dining area is run down and needs a handful of maintenance repairs. Upon arrival, we were asked if we wanted to dine in or take out. We chose dine in, and then were given menus and directed to sit at any table with no direction on if the tables received service or if we still would have to order at the counter. After about 10 minutes, we went to the counter to order. We went for the SGC and Buffalo Chicken grilled cheeses and an order of cheese fries, but were told we couldn’t order cheese fries during late-​night hours — only regular fries. Not sure why since they are listed on the late-​night menu. Fortunately, our sandwiches were to die for! Some of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I’ve ever had. This place is a hole in the wall for sure, but worth the confusion and sketchiness you’ll feel upon arrival. Customer service isn’t bad per se, but the staff is just young and all over the place. Order take out and you’ll love everything about your meal!

Got takeout from here the other weekend for dinner. I have been wanting to try this place for awhile, because the grilled cheese place in my hometown closed. The restaurant itself is very tiny and was empty when we stopped by. We made an order to go. The young girls working at the counter seemed a little confused/​or new, but they were nice enough. We waited in there and our order was ready pretty fast. I got the mac & cheese grilled cheese, which was really good, but the amount of cheese was a little too much for me. My fiancé had got the cheesesteak grilled cheese which was amazing. I ended up making him share because I liked his better. We also got an order of fries which were great and hand-​cut, they were exactly the type of french fry I like. I would definitely come back again. All of these gourmet grilled cheese places are on the pricy side, but at least here the grilled cheeses were bigger than at any of the places I have gone to before.

Food was very good but the rest of the experience really hurt it. Went about 1pm on a Sunday. Steves grilled cheese and chicken and black bean quesadillas were both fresh, hot, and large. But servers were totally stressed and arguing, glasses and silverware were not clean, and there were numerous flies buzzing about. Will give them another chance but they need to work on those deficiencies.

I love the food here! Everything is delicious, but I’d skip the tomato soup. Fries are like Boardwalk fries. My favorites are the fried pickles & the cheesesteak grilled cheese (it’s amazing!) Also love that they have Stewart’s root beer.

The waitress was alone and clearly stressed. The food was good but they were out of potatoes so my veggies omelet came with French fries… French fries in my omelet was a first to me. But the portion was large. I would like to return because they have a large menu and I ordered breakfast. It was late (2pm) but they advertise breakfast all day. Next time I return I’ll try the grilled cheese and fried pickles.

Wife, daughter and myself had lunch here and everything was hot fresh and very good. Had a chicken panini and wife and daughter had grilled cheese. French fries were Hand cut and really good. Will be back to try other items on the menu.

I absolutely love this place. I’m not much of a grilled cheese person, but they have definitely reinvented it. I had the southwest steak grilled cheese and my boyfriend had the fried chicken and bacon grilled cheese. Both were extremely delicious. Will have to have that as a go — to spot for our next trip down. Amazing food and friendly staff.

This nice place just opened this summer (2013) and already I think it could be one of my favorites. Located near the Promenade, Steve’s obviously specializes in grilled cheese and they have some pretty original ones like a Grilled ‘Mac and Cheese’ sandwich and Grilled Cheesesteak sandwich.
We both loved the Grilled Cheesesteak! Didn’t know what to expect going in, but as the slogan goes, ‘It’s the first bite that gets ya’ it was true, and we didn’t want the sandwich to end!
This place is great for all ages. With great service and food plus indoor and outdoor seating, hopefully this place will be around for years to come!
