Went there on a sunny Saturday afternoon in September, beautiful fall day at the shore Went there for a mid afternoon lunch, to sit outside at the waterfront. The seating outside along the water had some small table opening’s, it wasn’t like there was a section closed off or something. Went to the reception stand, Welcome to the Deauville, 2?, Yeah , overthere would be nice,(pointing to the waterfront table’s open) I’m sorry, they are not available right now, she turn’s and think’s she’s leading us inside,(which we’ve been to a few time’s over the year’s) I say«No problem, see ya later, and we leave,(leaving her and a waitress standing there, Don’t think she was used to that I’m not going there for 5 starr food I’m going there for a beautiful view, and some average at best bar foor

We have had great experiences here… BUTNOMORE! Horrible service our last 2 visits and the food has been just ok. Took 25 min to get our drinks and bread and then the food was cold when it came out. Gonna be looking for a new place. Our last visit.

We went to beach bar. We Ordered 2 of the Rum Buckets. Server said it had 5 different types of rum and juice. My wife and I agreed after drinking them that there was no alcohol in them. No real way to prove it but buyer beware!

After a sunny beach day this was a perfect place to come with sand on your feet and bathing suits. The atmosphere was perfect as we watched the sunset am the boats dock!

The view is the best feature of this place. So I guess that gives them the confidence to charge outrageous prices for dinner. Well. Good for them. People pay it. I’ve done the dinner/date and paid over $ 100 and we only had 2 drinks each. But mostly I do the bar drink and apps or occasional entrée. Bar menu is ok but the Monday 2 for 1 crab legs are a good deal. Anyway. Not much choice in that area so they got ya! Ha!

Haven’t been to the Deauville for three years. Decided to give it a try. Hoping that the wings have improved. We were very happy because the wings were very good. We also had steamers that were good. While we were eating, we were pestered by flys and we were inside at the bar. My husband became concerned about where the flys may be breeding. Cleanliness issue. I had a beer and then decided to try a frozen drink. I had to send the drink back because it did not taste anything like the description. I ordered a martini and it was good. A customer at the table across from me did not like her sandwich and sent it back. Because the wings were good I will go back again. And will only order beer.

Best place to watch the sunset down the shore! Kids can play on beach, staff is super friendly. Can’t go on vacation with out hitting up the Deauville Inn!

3 stars for the experience. 1 star for the food. We had big group and great waiter. Had to ask for bar menu. Ordered drunken oysters. Waiterxrelayed message that the batter was not«drunken» that night. Hmmmm? I said find but in the end the batter wasnt the issue… it was the flattened pan fried oysters. They were so flat that I would have trouble identifying them. 3 stars because I was expecting worse having been before and reading reviews. Poor value. Great setting. I would go with bar and bar menu if I was to find myself there again.

While the food quality is decent, the lack of effort and communication from the waitress was poor. In a 2 hour meal, we were seen three times and never once got asked about more drinks or how the food was. Our waitress isn’t all to blame. She was the only one given several tables with 8+ people so this problem starts with management. We felt neglected during what was supposed to be a nice, relaxing meal with family. Instead we were left wondering when the waitress would come to our table next.

We have been Deauville customers for more than 15 years and this afternoon was by far the worst experience we have ever had. We are a local family of 26 who used to frequent the Deauville on many occasions over the past 15 summers. While the service and food have always been hit or miss, today was the the final straw when we ordered the $ 10.50 spinach dip which came out as a pile of burnt cheese and appeared as if would only require 4 tortilla chips to finish. Upon asking for the manager, the spinach dip became the least of our worries when the«manager» stated that he was sorry we felt the way we did. Never offered to make a new one, never gave anything close to an actual apology. We even kindly asked him to bring another dip and he said no. Knowing that the Deauville is a locally owned family restaurant it pains me to leave this review but I would hate for one more unknowing shore goer to waste their time and money when Twistie’s is less than 2 blocks down the road. Do yourself a favor and spend your money with them for a much more pleasant Strathmere dining experience.

I hate myself for being sucked into the great view of Strathmere Bay in the evening sun on a beautiful day and eating a subpar meal and paying 5 star prices to eat on a plastic table and drink out of plastic cups. We knew as soon as we sat down to reevaluate our choice and unfortunately were too proud to get up and walk out and save ourselves from the oncoming train that we could see at the end of the tunnel. Without reading much further the prices on the menu were insane for an evening outside of a very nice restaurant. The Deauville is not that. It is a typical summer tourist machine that pumps out there dishes like a factory with litle thought on presentation or quality. I ultimately try to keep feelings of anger out of my posts and give a fair representation of the food and experience and I will try to do so in this post even after sharing this brief side note that soured the evening and feel of the place. After remaining and ordering and receiving our dishes from the insanely overpriced menu, I noted they table next to us that received their food which included a hamburger, pulled pork sandwich, and some other sandwich. None of which where on the menu that I searched in vain for cheaper options for my teens and tweener that were with us. I asked my waiter where the table got the sandwiches from and he reported that the Deauville had a separate sandwich menu but that a customer would have to ask for the menu and that the menu is not presented or offered by the host or waiter unless asked for. I thought Starbuck’s and Chipolte were the only one’s with a «secret menu»! IFYOUGO –ASKFORTHESECRETMENUTHATTHEYDON“T TELLYOUABOUT! I ordered a scallop dish off of the evening specials. The dish was acceptable. The scallops were cooked well. The standard mixed vegetable side dish that you can get at any second rate restaurant was the side and did not warrant the 29.00 price. My wife ordered the linguini with garlic and oil and sausage for 19.00 in an attempt o curb our costs for the large party I think. However, she said that the linguini bland with no garlic flavor. She would not recommend this dish. My tweener and teen ordered the 25.00 Chicken Parm. $ 25.00 and it should be a mean dish and not a pedestrian chicken parm dish that my favorite friday night pizza joint does for better for half the price. My cousin ordered the Ahi Tuna and said the dish was done well, My recommendation would be to pass up this food factory tourist trap unless you only sit on the deck and have a drink and appetizer or remember to ask for the secret sandwich menu. Do not order the mass produced entrée’s or pay the prices for the entrée’s. The food, presentation, and experience is not worth the prices. Side Note: I will pay any price for a great meal and not give it a second thought, Give the Deauville a second thought and pick something else.

Ok, there’s not much for me to eat here as I’m a vegan and they pretty much just serve fresh seafood which I hear is delicious and bar food. I basically come here for the sunsets and drinks and spirilized blooming potato which I do love. I get beers on tap or a small bottle of cheap champs. Doesn’t take much to make me happy after a day well spent at the beach. I always find myself here on Sunday nights. Sometimes a little wait but not this night. There’s seating inside, on deck, on the beach, at the bar and they do always have high top tables available too. Service isn’t real quick. But I don’t go here to be in and out. I go here to relax and take it all in. There was a band on the beach that was great the last time we were here. It was honestly just perfect. You definitely don’t feel like you are in New Jersey. They have free valet and a decent size lot. Parking is never an issue. We love it here after a relaxing day at the beach across the street. It’s my favorite place to watch the sunset at the shore. I feel like it’s my secret spot. I look forward a visit here every year. It just makes me happy. My kids love it. Hubs gets wings, they get a kids meal, it’s just easy and simply beautiful.

I’ve been a faithful patron of this establishment for many years. Tonight’s service was the worst in my history. Took an hour to get dinner and our waitress never came back for 45 minutes. It took 20 minutes to get a beer when the bar was less than 20 feet away. When the food finally came out it was cold and crusty and they even got one of the orders wrong. No sides to the dishes were brought. We would have asked for them but no one came back! I never leave bad reviews but this was the worst!

Went for wing nite. It wasn’t góod n not bad. Kinda like being in purgatory. The pizza was horrendous. Wings were just OK. Only 3 sauces to choose from. They should wear a mask when they take ur bar order too.

Finally The Wait is Over!!! The bar menu is available outside over looking the bay. I have been waiting for this for a very very very long time! I can’t believe it has taken this long for them to finally do this!. If you are looking for beer & bar food this is place for you! I highly recommend the blooming potato, wings, buffalo chicken fingers, crab cake sandwich.

Had a great experience here actually. Straight to a good table outside overlooking the bay area. Sweet chilli shrimp were outstandingly good. Def recommended. The bloomin potato was ok. Huge but ok. Drinks very good… heard the bloody mary was good. Server was excellent and not too bad a price. Only criticism was the shrimp were served in baskets and the other dishes weren’t. Preferred no baskets.

I have been here many times. I always come here in the summer months for their outdoor lunch. Well I am back again for lunch. The temp is a nice 70 degrees, but, ominous cloudy. I always opt to eat outside on the deck nearest to the rail overlooking the bay area to watch the incoming boats and brids. Check out my video. I started with my usual margarita for $ 6.77. Two of my favorites for lunch here are a bowl of creamy rich She Crab soup for $ 8.75 and the very large blooming potato for $ 6.00, which the 3 of us could not finish so we have left overs for tonight. I ended my lunch with the DC pale ale pint for $ 3.97. The bill for the 3 of us less gratuities was $ 54. I will be back next year.

It gets a couple points for being the closest place to dry Ocean City, NJ that serves drinks. The staff is also friendly. The views are decent. It’s a HUGE restaurant; apparently the freezer must be too.. The vegetable medley(in mid summer when veggies are plentiful), came straight from the supermarket frozen isle. For those that don’t go to good restaurants often, enjoy chain style food or are fine with«okay,» this will work. For those looking for a winner, keep Unilocaling!

Well the one plus for this place is that it is right over the bridge from ocean city(which is dry) so you can come here to get a few drinks with dinner or sit at the bar. Their food was sub-par, I enjoyed the restaurant week special of lobster and mussels but my sister’s steak was dry and tough. Their beer selection was the equivalent of that at a college frat party, all light domestic drafts. We had initially gone so that we could sit I the bay outside but when we got there they told us it was very buggy In the outdoor seating area. «Very buggy» may have been the understatement of the year, we got bitten to death just standing out there to look at the view. If recommend it if you want some drinks and your staying in ocean city, other than that find one of the other nice seafood restaurants down the shore.

It was looking like it would be a lovely dinner. We had drinks at the beachside bar before heading into the restaurant. I’m lactose intolerant, so I asked the waitress not to put butter on my broiled seafood. When the food came, it seemed saturated in butter. My partner mentioned it to the waitress, who took it back to the kitchen to check. Upon the plate’s return(they maintained that it was butter-free, but I’m still skeptical – if they cooked such rubbery, cold, and overcooked clams to order, I’d be surprised), I discovered a dark and curly hiding underneath my crab legs. You look at the attached photo and tell me where you think that hair came from, but I’m pretty sure it didn’t come from someone’s scalp. I didn’t make a fuss(in restrospect, I wish I had). I just mentioned it to the waitress as she cleared the plate away. But beware anyone coming here with food allergies or dietary restrictions. Apparently what you get is pubic hair in your dinner.
