Ayres Hotel Seal Beach

Great Hotel with a very friendly staff and the Breakfast buffet is a great weekend get-​a-​way. I bit pricey. but worth it.

Love this hotel! My fiancé and I came here for a night stay. We were going to go to The Aquarium of the Pacific and wanted to stay close by. The room was amazing and the staff was so friendly. The breakfast is also great. We definitely will be back!

This check-​in staff are quite condescending.
Do not get a room that faces the freeway. This was one of the worst night’s sleep I’ve had in my life.
Who furnishes this place? A tacky Persian? The décor is horrible.

We had the best service, comfortable beds, great breakfast! But as a person who has been in the restaurant industry for over 15 years, your breakfast is understaffed!!! My husband looked up and saw several comments about this. You need to start listening to your customers – they don’t like running out of coffee, food, and silverware when they are to be getting breakfast. Shame on you for not listening and correcting this problem. We stayed 5 days and only ate twice at the hotel and both times ran out of all the items I mentioned above. At one point the manager on duty came in to ask the chef about making something with egg whites that a customer complained about, but not once offered to help anyone else standing around waiting for food or coffee — NOT GOOD!

We just had our Women’s Council of Realtors retreat here and they took very good care of us. Full hot Breakfast to clean rooms.

Loved it! Lonely and Madison, corporate sales, and the entire staff were so wonderful. Took really good care of Women’s Council California State retreat from check in to check out. Lovely, large rooms, good breakfast and we were good with our budget.

I was so impressed. While waiting for my room breakfast was being served. I had sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, hash browns, juice, coffee. I passed on the cereal but had fresh fruit. Yummy!
It gave me time to work too so having free WIFI access was terrific. The staff was friendly, full of hospitality and very resourceful.
When I got into my room I was pleased to have a large room with 2 queen sized bedrooms. I couldn’t believe I had a fridge and microwave. Heck! Do hotels have that anymore! So many towels provided and tall ceilings. Just love the space.
I came to this hotel for a couple of days for a business retreat meeting. My room was walking distance to the conference room. The Conf room was pleasant with access to the patio.
Yes I went swimming after wine hour at the patio. They offered wine, cheese and appetizers. Who would pas that up!
I highly recommend Ayres Hotel and will plan to come back should I be in this neck of the woods. Thank you Ayres for a pleasant experience.

Wanna send a special thanks to Joe for helping me make this a memorable stay for me and my wife. We had reservations at Spaghettinis and did not want to drive back to Riverside after a night of drinking so we decided to stay at this hotel. It was my wife’s birthday and we didn’t have a normal wedding, just went to court house, so I wanted to create a first time proposal and get down on one knee… called Ayres spoke to Joe she assured me they could get the champagne but I’d have to deliver the flowers myself. Due to my work schedule I couldn’t get over there so I had 4 dozen roses delivered. I don’t remember the name of the woman who set my room up but it was phenomenal. My wife was surprised and brought to tears. Our stay, though short was definitely memorable. Nice hotel definitely recommend.

Nice hotel with clean updated rooms. Good breakfast in the morning consisting of eggs, sausage or ham, hash browns, cereal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, muffins and pastries and the usual beverages. The cook is right behind the counter preparing items on the grill.
Has an outdoor pool. Within very short walking distance of two good restaurants. Can probably get to them quicker by walking than getting in the car to drive.
Overall, nice place to stay.

I reserved a room for my daughter who got married today for her honeymoon. She was treated with such disrespect by the attendant at the front desk that he made her cry and insulted my son in law. He refused to help them even after my daughter explained to him that I had booked a room for them through Travelocity. My daughter said he talked down to her and upset her and refused to look at the phone confirming the reservation. He upset my son in law and started calling my son in law names and swearing at him. I don’t know if this attendant was on drugs or what but I have never been so APPALLED at the treatment my daughter and son and in law received on their wedding night. My daughter left in tears and my son in law was furious. I will never book another room in this hotel again for abusing and mistreating my children!

What a beautiful hotel! Stayed here for the weekend because it was right across the street from the wedding venue we were going to. Only 3 miles from the beach the location is extremely convenient. The front desk girls were every nice and accommodating. Once checked in we headed up to our room, which was stunning. 20 foot ceilings really added that extra elegance and charm. And lets talk about the bed… OMG can we say comfortable?! Honestly it was the best bed I have ever slept on. Andy and I both have really bad backs and after sleeping here for a few days we felt amazing. We will definatly be back!

Been here twice for our yearly couples retreat at church. The breakfast is awesome. the staff will go out of their way to help. Very welcoming.

Everything was great until the night before check out. Items were missing from the room, upon attempt to reach a manager, a assistant manager said the main manager would contact us. The very same person called and acted like they were the manager and then proceeded to say the main person would call at a later point. The workers refused to provide any proof that no one had been in that room other then us, as that was the story they had given us. Upon check out, we encountered nothing but rude attitude and had dirty looks thrown our way. Will not be staying here again and would not recommend it. Currently trying to contact corporate and seeking legal advise.

We have stayed there several times. But this time we met family at the hotel. There were 8 of us and we would sit on the patio since they rooms can’t really handle 8 people. So one night they let us use the area where they have breakfast, to play cards and have some wine.
The staff was and is amazing! ! They make you feel like you are at 5 star hotel.
The breakfast is good, lots of choices.
Oh the best part, at 4pm they make fresh chocolate chip cookies. Very tasty!
Sean behind the desk is outstanding, and so is the rest of the staff, but we delt with Sean most often.
He is friendly and professional, he will take care of you while on your stay.
So stay here and enjoy your time! !!

I normaly stay @ the Ayres in Hawthorne/​Manhattan Beach which is 5 stars for me, and even though the decorations and rooms are extremely similar. This just doesnt have that ja né sais quoi that the other establishment has.

And in my and my boyfriends opinion doesnt give you that qaint small town romantic beach community getaway I was expecting

I stayed here on Thursday night and it was so convenient that it was across the street from the old Ranch country club where my friend was getting married the next day. The hotel is very nice.
There is such great service and continental breakfast was delicious with two kinds of eggs, sausage, coffee to go, etc. My friend actually fell and scraped her knee down and we were so happy that the front desk gave us gauze, Band-​Aids, and ointment.
I love how my room included a microwave and refrigerator. It was pretty neat that they have the feature where the lights can only turn on with the key card inside. It’s great that they’re looking to conserve energy.
They have an Enterprise room to make it easy to rent a car.
I would definitely return!

My business trip brought me to Seal Beach and the 4 out of 6 weeks I stayed at the Ayres Hotel. It is a breath of fresh air when you enter into a hotel and it smells wonderful as if you were entering a luxurious spa. I was greeted promptly and checked in within minutes. The lobby is grand with a stately fireplace and european inspired décor.
The rooms are a very good size furnished with a king size bed, couch, mini fridge, microwave, tv, and complimentary Wi-​fi. After a long day of work, they also had complimentary happy hour M-​W and complimentary newspaper.
I do agree that the beds were softer than I would have preferred. I felt that the rooms were more sound proof than other hotels I have stayed at in the area. Thank you Ayres for making my stay in Seal Beach a wonderful experience.

I was a big fan of the Ayres. The hotel décor is a bit bizarre, there’s a 19^th Century France theme, which I didn’t expect in a beach town hotel. The lobby is nice as was the customer service (although a bit naïve in a charming sort of way; I asked the young 20 something at the front desk for a non chain restaurant recommendation and she told me Chipotle!).
My room was stunning. The hotel was clean and spotless. They had a supply of Tylenol at the front desk, which was great for when I had a headache. I wasn’t a big fan of the breakfast buffet. One morning I woke up early at caught the buffet at the beginning of it and none of the hot food was there. I sat for a half hour plus working from my laptop and still nothing. Other than that, my experience there was really great.
