RIP. The pinnacle of Vietnamese cuisine in Washington. The seafood congee, the phở, the snapper, the beef stir-fry! That dish where you soak rice paper and wrap fried stuff with grilled pork! Someone hit me up and let me know what that dish is called.

It’s been several years since I’ve been here, but they never seemed to be putting much of an effort into this place… now I see why: Thanh Thao and Tony’s Bakery across the street in the Viet Wah parking lot are both really great, check them out instead — or Thai Palms up the street.

umm it must have been an off day when I came here for lunch because service was slow and they got my order wrong. Throughly disappointed and definitely not coming back. My noodle dish had no flavor and nothing could of made it better. Trust me I tried. Had to go to Tony’s after because I was still hungry. There are plenty of better restaurants in the area.

My faves: Banh Canh, Com Tam Dac Biet, Hu Tieu Mi Ga Ngu Vi, Cha Gio, all the vermicelli dishes — including the ones where you wrap your own rolls — yum! Service is great once the teeny bopper knows you and she’s very good at remembering your order. I don’t really care for the others except for the owner(her dad) which I hardly see anymore. Not the cleanest place but the food is very consistent.

I have been eating at My Canh for over 10 years. It is consistently good. I tend to eat the special house noodle soup as well as some of the noodle bowls or BUNs as it is called. It is always fresh and tasty. While not the cleanest place in town, kind of divey in fact, but. the family is friendly and the food isn’t loaded with MSG like so many of the other phở places. I always have a good meal and have never had a problem with the food. I eat here regularly. Not to mention the prices are very affordable.

We live around the corner from this restaurant and my husband was dying to try it because he always sees people inside dining to their delight. So, we gave it a shot. I have to say, having spend some time in Vietnam and having eaten delicious food in «holes in the wall”-that this was not one of those delightful«hole in the wall» experiences. First of all, the restaurant is dirty, there are bugs flying around and the tables were not clean. The condiments appear to have been there on the tables for what appears to be an unsanitary amount of time. Then there are the tv’s hooked to the ceilings as though one was visiting their convalescent grandmother in the hospital. We got to enjoy«Two and Half Men» over and over again. The service staff appear to be a family and we were graced by the non-caring service of the teenage daughter who spent more time talking to her friends from the Baskin Robbins then to get our order right or to help guide us when the items that we wanted weren’t actually available. My husband got sick(very quickly afterwards) and I was just not interested in my very bland tasting dish. I’ve had amazing Vietnamese food in this city and beyond and this is not the place to get it. Or maybe we just caught them on a bad day. They could seemingly care less about us. And I do like to support my kinfolk but I also like to have good food.

my vietnamese friends brought me to their favorite hole in the wall in seattle during a visit there… it was truely a hole in the wall… but the grub was undeniable awesome eats. the GRUB: — broken noodles with bbq /grilled pork and spring roll was delish… especially when you pour the whole sauce on everything and eat it straight up… — i also had the phở special — nice broth and great meats… veggies served on the side — hot tea and vietnamese coffees available for consumption the JOINT: — off the beaten path, with not much curb appeal at all — inside décor was simple and almost«too authentic» vietnamese street style café — they at least had a lazy susan for our big table the SQUEEZE: — seriously?!? $ 7 for the noodles and $ 6 for the Phở — insane. FINALWORD: awesome eats at kick ass prices, but the décor and the ambiance is a little too raw to give it a 5 star rating…
