Love the custard here! Happened upon this place as we were finishing up the evening out. Tasty and flavourful custard. You can always find chocolate and vanilla; additional flavours rotate. I ordered their version of a ‘blizzard’ with cake batter and two half-sized portions of fix-ins. Friendly staff and great service.

Hands down the best frozen custard in Seattle. I would call it the best ice cream in Seattle but it’s not ice cream, it’s better. I guess you could say it’s better than the best ice cream in Seattle. It’s super creamy, light and delicious. They always have chocolate, vanilla, a custard of the day and a sorbet of the day. Their website has a calendar with flavors of the day, they are made fresh that day. Their board has a selection of sundaes or you can make your own. They also make concretes. You can also pick up a pint with some past flavors of the day.

I came here with a colleague in search of a tasty treat. i got a milkshake of a bizarro flavor that i had never heard of. it was delicious but made me very gaseous. we are all adults here, we can talk about these things. its all bueno. Gas is a normal part of life and happens to everyone occasionally. AA++ would milkshake again.

Came in on a Monday night! My friend and I were the only people there. We got a «Muddy Buddy» to share. The Muddy Buddy features a brownie, two scoops of vanilla custard, some peanut butter, whipped cream, and lots of fudge. The combination itself is amazing, especially if you’re a chocolate and peanut butter fan like I am. If you’re looking for a sweet and decadent treat, this is definitely it! I’d recommend sharing though. It’s a lot to eat if you’re only one person!

Tasty custard that is super creamy. The muddy buddy with the peanut butter and brownie is the way to go.

Slightly overpriced, but you get what you pay for and Old School is certifiably delicious. Last time we were there I had a cup of the vanilla and my boyfriend got a scoop of the butter pecan. The vanilla was good, but it’s pretty hard to mess up vanilla. I tried some of his butter pecan and it was too rich for me. I wish they offered sugar cones and offered at least sundaes that don’t have chocolate in them.

Yes I am dairy-free so I’ll start out with that caveat… however, sometimes my willpower weakens in the face of a a 20% off coupon for frozen custard. This store is small but very well decorated, with a huge black chalkboard up on the wall that suits their ‘old school’ theme. Frozen custard is creamer and heavier than regular ice cream, but it’s not something you’ll really care about unless you’re trying to be all pretentious and you walk up in here talking about milkfat solids and sh*t. The customer service is great and they are more than happy to give you samples; I being the sample whore that I am, will take full advantage of that until a line forms behind me and I must begrudgingly place an order. I had a sundae with plenty of toppings and it was heavenly. But be warned — the fact that it is heavier than ice cream will also fill you up faster than ice cream, so you need not gorge on more than one scoop. Every day they have a special flavor of the day. So go get those samples.

I definitely love that a place on the West Coast is selling frozen custard, which was always a treat when I was back in Michigan, but seems much harder to find out here. The frozen custard I had from here was pretty decent. Worth checking out if you’re new to the custard world, but not life changing.

I’m a big ice cream fan and came here with a girlfriend after having lunch nearby on a sunny Saturday day. They have special flavors-I tried the mint chocolate chip and cookie butter, and decided to go with the cookie butter. It was pretty good! I got it in a cake cone. It’s really creamy. The difference between regular ice cream and frozen custard is that it has egg yolks added to it. The gal working was so nice and helpful and letting us sample multiple flavors. They also have sundaes, shakes, root beer floats, you name it!

If you like ice cream and gelato but you haven’t tried frozen custard, you’re missing out. Very rich and creamy. They have chocolate and vanilla everyday, along with a special flavor(s) that change everyday throughout the month! It’s not a normal ice cream scoop shop with 31 crazy flavors to choose from every single time you visit: be warned but don’t be scared. It is simple, it is old school, and it is worth stopping by for good quality treats. They don’t think it be like it is, but it do. They have a chalkboard calendar that tells you what flavors are coming up… Keeps me excited and wonderin what flavors are next! They also have prepackaged pints of various custards if you want to skip the daily, vanilla, and chocolate. I always get the sundaes here. I usually don’t like sundaes, nor do I prefer chocolate peanutbutter ice cream BUT their muddy buddy sundae rocked my socks off. A definite slap to the face… a yummy, loving slap to the face. It changed the way I feel about chocolate PB. OSFC, you have converted me. I also like their playground sundae. If you’re familiar with that old school«dirt cup» pudding treat, it’s exactly that! And it is good. You can customize your sundae however you want; I asked for my playground to be with one vanilla one chocolate scoop, instead of the defaulted two chocolates scoops and they were happy to do that for me! Customer service is always amazing and the place gives a nice, intimate, casual, friendly vibe. Great quality creamy treats and great employees. Novel, daily flavors, and to-go pints. What more do ya need at an old school dessert joint?

Frozen custard for me will always be special. Coming from a really cheap Asian American family, we never had dessert when we ate out(if we ever ate out D:). But there was one instance where my dad just out of the blue decided to buy us all frozen custard. This place brings me back on those memories. The texture was exactly as I had remembered it. Suuuuuper smooth and creamy and amazingly delicious. This place has a bunch of different flavors that rotate almost every day. We had the espresso and also the cookie butter which were both excellent. The espresso you could really taste the coffee flavor in your mouth and it lingers like a nice freshly brewed espresso. Although the cookie butter temperature was a little lower than my girlfriend and I liked, it was still delicious. My one gripe is that I really wish this place would have proper ice cream cups. They use the kind of cups that you usually get a drink in, which is kind of annoying when you want to switch in between the flavors you get. In any sense, I’ll definitely be coming back again. It’s true what they say, the best foods bring you back to your childhood, and this place definitely did.

Do not come here if you are on a diet. There is no escape. The muddy buddy steals my dreams and all my deep happy thoughts and desires, packs them into a little ball and shoves them into my mouth to taste firsthand. Nothing else matters when I’m eating the muddy buddy. Big, thick brownie pinned down by a large round mound of creamy custard, and sandwiched in between them is dollop of smooth peanut butter to hit that mix of salty and sweet eruption as God intended. But to make them all play well they load the trio full of really thick, hot fudge to ooze and balance the cool custard. Blanketing them on top is a generous spraying of the whipped cream. Not a very comfortable place to eat out, but whatevs. The Muddy Buddy. Such a sinful pleasure.

Oh my GOSH. This is a MUST go-to place if you’re roaming around Pike Street!!! I was recommended by my friend to come here and I’m SO glad I made the stop here even though I was super full from lunch. The shop is fairly easy to find and there’s a lot of street parking. I walked in and noticed a calendar on my right drawn on a chalkboard that had various flavors labelled each day. I realized it’s the ‘flavor of the day’. How this shop works is that there is a flavor of the day that you can get or other simple flavors(I know on the daily they have Vanilla as an option for frozen custard; also, they usually have the flavor from the previous day to sell that day as well). The signature sundaes are always available too but cost more but I’m sure it’s totally worth it! I went on January 19, 2014 and it was Cookies n’ Cream! My favvvv! I was super tempted to order the Muddy Buddy from the Signatures, but I was too full. But the Cookies n’ Cream was SOOOGOOD! The frozen custard is VERY smooth and I love the essences of egg custard you taste from the Cookies n’ Cream. The frozen custard isn’t too sweet and not too cold either; it’s perfect and melts on your tongue sooo nicely! I got 1 scoop which was $ 3.55(yay for no sales tax!). I was so sad when I finished my scoop. It was heaven in a cup! I will most definitely come back to Old School Frozen Custard to try the other flavors and will definitely make room for it!!!
