Ordered pickup Friday 6÷10÷16. I places three orders of the samosa(each piece was huge), chicken tikka and chicken curry. Large portions and the tikka was delicious. Service was friendly and place was quaint. Overall: B+

Great food. This is the only Indian food place my husband and I order from. Lamb Tikka Masala is our favorite. We eat spice but the spicy was VERY spicy(oder medium).

I ordered a lamb vindaloo for delivery to my work place. I got some lamb, as well as 2 big pieces of dark meat chicken. I ordered through eat24 and requested that they inform the restaurant, as a courtesy, that there was chicken in my meal. Instead of even offering so much as an apology, the restaurant insisted that there was no chicken, that it was potato that I was eating, that I mistook potato for chicken… really??? Now, it doesn’t take a veterinarian to know the difference between lamb meat, chicken meat, and potato… except that I am one, actually, haha! I didn’t request any kind of refund. I just asked eat24 to inform the restaurant of the mistake. What if their disregard causes an allergic reaction with an individual with a food allergy??? Instead the manager/owner(?) reportedly gave the eat24 rep a huge attitude. Eat24 flagged the restaurant for investigation… Your attitude and costumer service is unacceptable. We will obviously never provide this establishment our business anymore. The food was mediocre at best, anyway. There are much better restaurants in the area that serve better food and offer far better service.

Nothing wrong with this place, and worth checking out for their lunch specials. I believe it to be similar in pricing to Bollywood café, but I’d honestly prefer that for the following reasons: While taste of India offers you better side dishes, I really wanted more than the tranche of chicken Marsala they gave me – received four pieces of chicken. I also ordered the side salad and received yogurt instead. Bollywood café I believe took more of their time cooking my dish, and with more care. Bollywood café had better chicken Marsala and was spicier(ordered max, got mild here) On the plus side, I did receive more side dishes, and special sauces at taste of India. However, a rush job, slightly messing up order, and their bat cave dimly lit lights hurts the overall score somewhat.

Delicious Indian food! I came to this restaurant with my friend and we both loved the fish and shrimp tandoori plates! Also, the atmosphere in the restaurant is really cool!

So good! Better than any Indian place, you should try the chicken tikka and the samosas and last but not least the veggie korma! If you do not like Indian food you probably will actually like this it is so amazing! I love this place! The only compliant I have is can take a long time to get the food ready! But still a 5 star rate! You should really be adventurous and try it!!!

The food is delicious, especially for the Indian buffet! The chicken makhni, tandoori and mixed vegetable curry had to be my favorites! Definitely a place to get high-quality food for a good price. What ruined the experience was service… the waiters stared at my friend and I for the entire time. Intrusive, much? The staff also didn’t want to refill the chicken curry when it ran out. I wouldn’t come to this location but I would definitely visit the Woodland Hills restaurant to get the same dishes because I really like this place despite the weird looks we got from the waiters.

So yummy! Amazing chicken tikka masala. And they will make it with coconut milk instead of cream. Their green chutney is perfectly spicy!

Really great food and service. The dishes are reasonably sized and very tasty. Cute ambiance and it’s open late as an added bonus. Be sure to come hungry!

I was blown away by what a horrible experience we had here this past Friday evening. I’ve had Taste of India bookmarked for quite sometime and have really been looking forward to dining here. I love Indian food. Now I know all the reasons why I never made it in, were really to keep me away from such a terrible time. My boyfriend and I arrived at around 830P Friday evening, to a pretty empty place. Valet for $ 8 to park in a 7Eleven parking lot, Umm no thanks! We snagged street parking which is free after 8P so no biggie at all. Upon entering, I was excited — the place seemed fine. We were shown to a table and then it all began. I am seriously appalled by the lack of good service at this place. Chauvinist is the most fitting word I can think of. Not only was the food just ok if that, the way the men working here treated us(mainly me) was completely uncomfortable and at times seemed downright mean and unnecessary. Yelling at me to keep a knife, hmmmm not needed bud! I’m sure it’s not going to kill your dishwasher to clean one more utensil and a simple«Ms. you may keep your knife» would have sufficed. Almost every interaction with the staff here was horrid and the food bland. If I say Medium, I mean Medium. If I say Med/Hot I mean it! I know better than you how I like my food spiced, to bring it out Mild and bland didn’t make for a great palate experience on top of the rude condescending service. We had ordered the basics, garlic naan, rice, veggie samosas, aloo gobi, chicken tikka masala. I had a small King Fisher, my boyfriend a water and mango beverage. To top things off, we were here to celebrate an accomplishment of mine — that I felt would be fitting to celebrate in Sherman Oaks, in this area. Really, I should have gone with my boyfriends suggestion which is a mile away and a million times better than this place. I then asked about dessert, which I rarely do if I haven’t enjoyed my meal much but I saw a lovely festive rice pudding, mango and pistachio ice-cream dessert under their pictures on Unilocal and asked if we could please order this — given we were here to celebrate and I’d already been berated, I must have thought sweets would help me feel better, only to be laughed(Yes, you are reading this correctly — literally laughed at!) and told — they only make this dessert for«guest coming in». Hmmmmm… last time I checked, we were guest, coming in, to your restaurant and all three items are on your dessert menu. I’m pretty sure you have a bowl in your kitchen yet you won’t make the dessert we are asking for. No problem! That’s about when I couldn’t get out of this establishment quick enough. I will NEVER, EVER step foot in here again and hell will likely freeze over before I’d recommend anyone, especially a woman(which is a very sad thing for me to sit here and type in this day and age) patronize this business. Bland, unimpressive food and down right preposterous behavior from staff. I’m really thankful my son wasn’t here with us, to witness the entire thing. Stay away, unless your sickly into being treated this sort of way.

Interesting moment– my friend and I asked for the check, and the server came, handed it to us, and then said, «. May I ask a question?» He proceeds with the most emotionless face and tone, like Snape from Harry Potter– «Would you please give us a good rating on Unilocal?» Emotionless, I tell you. LOL. I mean, sure. And so I’m a man of my word; I’ll reiterate what the others have said here– for the most part, the service is great, almost a bit much but it’s fine. Food is great too, they have a large selection and they’re pretty well-portioned. They aren’t the maharaja of all Indian cuisine(though what do I know, I mean no I wouldn’t know the difference between Assam and Kalahandi cuisine, but I know what I know and know what I like), so hence the four stars. Try something different outside of the regular chicken tikka masala(which is great though) and the curries; this place serves as a decent stepping stone to familiarize yourself with different dishes within your comfort zone. Lastly, when you walk into the restaurant, you must enter like this:

Friendly and attentive staff! Beautiful décor and non stop Bollywood videos! Amazing food! However, their chicken tikka masala was on the dry side. Happy Hour is Mon — Fri 20% entire bill from 3−6pm. They also still honor their $ 13 for $ 20 coupon. I will definitely come back again for their champagne lunch buffet served on the weekends and provide an updated review! Mmm can’t wait!

What can I say! Coming here for 20 years and till this day the customer service is still outstanding! The food here hasn’t changed and is always perfect and spot on. Going to places now a days and finding good food and great service is near impossible! We love spicy and we say HOT they actually understand and make it perfect! We are obsessed with their carrot salad and it’s the owners moms recipe and is a blessing from her to all of us customers and she has now passed! We ordered take out tonight and asked for extra carrots and wow did they really give us extra. Again anything to put a smile on your face is their goal! May momma rest In Peace and watch us all enjoy her amazing carrot salad. If your looking for great food and amazing service seek no further. I just mention when we go out for Indian food we NEVER EVEr go anywhere else!!!

First let me start by saying the food was great, and place was pretty clean. But a Little 2 dark, it reminded me of Indiana Jones and the Temple of doom. Lol! By the way the valet was dumb to us because they are located in a shopping center where there’s other businesses. Why would I pay for public parking??? But the food was great and the service was great 2.

Hands down the best Indian food in the greater Los Angeles area. We had tandoori chicken, aloo gobi, chicken tikka masala, rice, and garlic naan. Everything was fresh and delicious. We get the mild which isn’t too spicy but full of flavor.

My favorite Indian place in LA. The flavors are complex, ancient, and most of all, delicious. Everything I’ve had is excellent, from the tandoori chicken(my personal favorite), to the lamb curry. They also ask you how spicy you want each dish, so if you’re a spice junky like me, you’ll love it. Beware though, their spicy is indeed very spicy(but still in balance with all of the other flavors). The restaurant itself is very quiet and cozy, with very attentive and nice wait staff.

Ordered takeout recently and LOVED it. All portions generous. Flavors solid. Tandoori Chicken: gorgeously ruby red chicken, moist and served with onion and lemon Mixed Vegetable Curry: selection of vegetables in a flavorful tomato-based sauce, delicious over rice Lamb Biryani: large chunks of lamb in spice-infused basmati rice, I kept going back for more and more of this dish! Naan: a must to sop up all of the flavorful curry This restaurant has stood the test of time and for a reason. Can’t wait to try other biryanis, curries, breads and specialty dishes. Enough food for 3 people for 2 meals — a value!

Found a hair baked into my naan. Gross. Will never order again. Eat24 refunded the price of naan. Too bad it ruined the whole meal. Whole order was thrown into the trash. What a waste of money. Only reason I give two stars is because of eat24s helpfulness. Wish I could have returned the whole meal for two people. Picture posted

Hands down one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to in or outside U.S. Their owner Deep is one of the kindest most generous and sweet hearted human beings there is and me and my family have nothing but respect and love for him… Their food is to die for… You can easily tell that a lot of love has gone into their dishes and the staff are always nice… I would go there every day if I could …
