I had ordered a cheese calzone from here last week and paid cash. The calzone was not as good as the one I craved from the state I used to live in but it was okay. They cut it into four pieces and one barely had any cheese in it. 4:05 pm today(1⁄8) I again used their website to order and this time ordered two with extra cheese. I had no cash on me but wanting my Friday night treat used my credit card. 15 minutes later I got to the restaurant to find 1) a TV with the volume up fairly loud and 2) a guy behind the counter with a thick accent mumbling to where you can’t hear him well over the TV and other noise. I have absolutely no issue with people with accents, my stepdad has one in fact. It’s just that my stepdad speaks to where you can hear him. This guy talks to the floor like he doesn’t care what he’s doing. I said I was there for a carryout order and assumed he had found it. He said it wasn’t ready, they were having computer issues. He said it would be 15 minutes. I wasn’t happy but okay. About 13 minutes later he comes over to me and says«are you driving?» and I said«no, I’m walking» and he said something in just above a mumble about 3 pies and I looked at him like he had three heads. I said«no, I ordered two calzones and here is the email confirmation to prove it» and brought it up on my phone. He claimed to not have the order and then finally found it. By this time it was about 25 minutes after I arrived and it would be getting dark soon and I didn’t want to be walking home in the dark considering I am visually impaired. He was unable to answer if my credit card had already been charged so I called my card company while I was there and they said it was pending but they couldn’t say yet if it would post or not. He said, due to the computer issue, he could not credit my card since I didn’t want to wait for them to make the order now. He said«I can give you cash instead». It was something so I took it and left. I figured I will just get supper somewhere else with it and call it even. I did keep an eye on my credit card over the next couple of days to make sure there is nothing else on there other than that one charge and that’s all I found fortunately. One thing is for sure, I won’t go back. I’ll keep searching for a cheese calzone that does not have tomato sauce in it or get my fix when I go back to see family.

Don’t order delivery from this place, unless you want to PAYTWICE for your pizza. This has happened to us on FOUR separate occasions now(that we know of) — the original charge goes through the day of your order, then the next day, an identical charge also goes through. Sneaky way to make money, huh? Happens too often for it to be an honest mistake. Is it one person making a little extra on the side? Or is the whole crew in on it? Either way, be warned, Flippin — you’ve been rumbled…

Flippin’ Pizza has the best pizza delivery in Silver Spring(which isn’t saying a whole lot, but anyway). They also have an unfortunate habit of DUPLICATINGCREDITCARDCHARGES. This has happened to us four times(that we have documented) and possibly more. I contacted the owner after the first three times(when we noticed the duplicated charges) and we were immediately reimbursed and assured that it was a computer glitch and that they were replacing their computers. But now it’s happened again. And if it has happened to us on four separate occasions, then it has likely happened to others. Please, check your credit card charges and report any duplicated charges. We’ll be going back to crappier pizza.

It took over 1.5 hours on a Sunday afternoon to deliver to a location less than 0.3 miles away. The food was cold, and they even screwed up the details of the order.

My first time at this location. Carry out, ordered from Flippin online(not grub hub or other service). ready in 15 minutes. Got a Cheese and a Brooklyn. Toppings on the Brooklyn were great!

Nice pizza place and friendly staff. They offer deals sometimes when you visit and always with a smile. I’d recommend to visit and see for yourself. I ate hot on the spot plane pizza with spices and enjoyed it very much.

I don’t discriminate. So when I say I like this place. I really do. The pizza is good, and the people are normally pretty cool! However tonight left me wanting to never eat there again. Or at least never order online again. I ordered a pizza at 8pm. Online it said it would take 45 minutes. Already in thinking… It doesn’t take that long when you order a carry out but o well. 845 comes and no one to be found. 855 comes and I called. The guy says that Comcast is down and they didn’t get my order till now. Well at that point I had already paid. He proceeds to tell me, that the order voided. No it didn’t because every purchase I make with my AMEX card that goes through it sends a text and email confirming. I do appreciate that he apologized and said he would deliver the pizza himself tomorrow, however I would of loved to eat my pizza tonight. I won’t even want to enjoy it tomorrow. I like this place therefore depending on how tomorrow goes, I may change the review. But if not it stays. Smh I’m HUNGRY! –_–

We are tapping out on Flippin Pizza. My family really enjoys the style of pizza, but it appears that this branch has some issues. Last time we ordered, the Whitestone pizza had bad Ricotta on it and was late. They were kind enough to order another pizza to replace it. Today, the pizza’s took 1:10 minutes vs. the 45 minutes estimates and one of the pizza’s was burnt on the bottom. You can see where they put a lot of flour on the bottom of it t…, I don’t know, cover it up? Very weak. We’re done. Lot’s of better options in this area. I do have to say though the person delivering the pizza was extremely nice.

UPDATE: Flippin Pizza charged my credit card twice for that delivery, which knocked them down 2 stars. Not cool. I ordered delivery for my family from Flippin’ Pizza and THEN checked Unilocal reviews. Rookie mistake, I know. But I feel the need to defend them and here’s why. I placed my order online and received my confirmation at 6:01. The estimated wait time was 45 minutes and our order arrived at 6:40. I quickly opened the boxes to ensure our order was correct and when I saw that the gluten-free pizza was incorrect, I quickly flagged down the driver before he got back into his car. I informed him that I ordered a half artichoke, half Bronx GF and in my small box was a plain cheese. The driver took the pizza back and I called the restaurant. The gentleman who answered the phone said that the online order didn’t indicate any toppings(which I can only assume is a glitch in the system because I am a mastermind at online food ordering). However, he said he’d make another pizza and send it my way. A few minutes later I got a call from the delivery guy asking me what my order should have been. I reconfirmed with him and he said it should arrive shortly. 35 minutes later I had the pizza I ordered! I call that excellent customer service. A quick note — I only chose gluten free because it was $ 7 less than a regular pizza. Unfortunately, I had no idea the GF pizza is about ¼ the size of a regular. Bear that in mind when your order!

I usually love their pizza, however last night(Monday 9⁄14 around 7pm) I ordered two slices of cheese pizza to go. The girl working piled the two hot slices on top of each other, with no paper in between. Anyone who eats pizza knows that the cheese of the bottom slice is going to stick to the top slice. She shoved both slices into a bag and handed it to me. Before I left, I pulled the slices out and peeled them apart, bottom slice now robbed of cheese. I pointed this out to the lady behind the counter and she really didn’t care. She offered me a piece of wax paper to put between them and walked away. I’m really not one to complain(I literally signed up for Unilocal to write this review), but I just love pizza so much and this was a total bummer.

Maybe the mistake was in ordering through Eat 24, and that if we had ordered the pizza over the phone, it wouldn’t have taken an hour and a half to arrive. The estimated delivery time was listed at 45 minutes, and when I finally called the restaurant after an hour, I was assured that the pizza was on its way. Maybe this was true– when the pizza arrived, it was getting cold. Too bad that I had already included a tip when I paid on Eat 24. The pizza itself, once reheated, was delicious.(Maybe though, we were so ravenous at that point that we would have been grateful for anything.) There was a hair in one slice so we discarded that piece. Also, I had requested Italian dressing with my salad but got ranch. Not a big deal, but on top of the late delivery, these things were very annoying.

Ok, the Pizza is usually good, but the customer service is horrible. My boyfriend and I have ordered from here a few times, and 2⁄3 of the time, the order has been wrong, with no notice. If they don’t have something, they don’t call to tell you that they don’t have it, they just throw something else in. We’ve ordered soda with our pizza many times, and we have always ordered 2 pepsis. without fail, they have delivered 2 vastly different drinks, and when we told them about it, they said«oh, we will bring you another one» and then they never showed up again. Also, our pizza is sometimes missing toppings, and often arrives about 15 minutes later than expected. Good pizza, horrible service.

Woof! My parents thought this pizza was amazing, I wish they dropped it on the ground. They ordered the Bronx pie, it was less greasy than an actual new York pizza, but the toppings were more fresh and flavorful. Pro tip, use coupons on grubhub and get $ 7 off. Woof, 5 stars, I look forward to future pies.

The pizza is absolutely delicious!!! I nice thin but not crunchy crust, tasty sauce, and the cheese and toppings are ample… Now– the customer service is minimal. I don’t come here to socialize. my BF and I walk over, order our pizza, pay, wait, and leave. We enjoy absolute deliciousness in the comfort of our own home. I will say– the place is big and roomy enough that if you had some friends and wanted to eat there, it can certainly accommodate. Survey says: Yes to eat!!!

Absolutely substandard. Not only did they not bring the drink along with the pizza that I ordered, but the pizza was stone cold. To say that their service is lacking would be an understatement. I’m going to make sure to tell all of my friends to stay far, far away.

I almost missed this place while driving by. What makes for a good pizza place? A pizza oven? Chewy and crispy pizza crust? Fresh toppings? Flavor, flavor, flavor!!! There was one table with two guys when we walked in at 7pm on a Saturday night. Is this a bad sign? Where are all the customers? I later learned they have a ton of carry-out orders! Not a fancy place. Sparse was the first word that came to mind. A soda dispenser in the back and I had to crane my neck to find plastic utensils and straws. A few tables and a counter at the window with worn stools. Do we stay or do we go? I had a coupon so we stayed. Glad we did! A display case of pizza by the slice as you walk in the door. They have a daily special for 2 slices and a soda($ 6). I am used to pizzas piled on with toppings but did not expect that because I had read the philosophy of Flippin Pizza before dining there. I was expecting toppings evenly spread out but sparse and was not disappointed. The pizza looked good and freshly made. We ordered the Bronx for $ 19. Pepperoni, sausage, onions, green peppers, black olives(not from a can!!!) and fresh garlic. I was surprised at how delicious the pizza was. It tasted cheesy even though it did not look cheesy. The pepperoni rounds were small but thick while the sausage was the opposite: thinly sliced so I thought it was beef instead of sausage. The pizza slices were large and could be folded over or eaten flat… traditional New York style pizza! It was hot and very tasty. The crust was perfect: Marbled and crispy with the perfect chew texture. The surprise of the night were the garlic knots($ 3) which were delicious. Cute and baked with a nice garlic flavor. The marinara dipping sauce was also very good. There was a hint of garlic and it would have been better warm. The individual salad($ 4.50) was large enough for two people. Nothing fancy with lettuce and tomatoes but surprised by cannelloni beans which looked like they were from a can but did not have a metallic taste. The sides were a great value for the price. At first, I thought the pizza was overpriced but once I tasted it, I was happy. Honestly, the entire meal was a good value. I would come back if I was in the Silver Spring area.

I used to love ordering from this place, but it’s changed a lot lately. If they get your order right and they get it to you fast, it’s great, but that doesn’t happen anymore. Expect 15 – 30 minutes past what they tell you, and expect them to argue when you complain that they botched your order. I get the same thing every time, I know how it’s supposed to be. Being later than the delivery estimate is one thing, getting the order wrong half the time is a deal breaker.

This place has good food but my complaint is with their recent service. I literally just went and I was told that they wouldn’t have slices for two hours and that all they had left was the two slices in the display. They turned me and the guy behind me away because of this. This seems like poor planning especially since their happy hour special begins in 30 minutes. I have also come in before and asked for pepperoni bites and they always gave me an outrageous wait time that indicates they don’t want to go through the trouble of making their menu item. I saw a sign that they are under new management which usually indicates an improvement in customer service but this in my opinion is poor customer service. I will take my business to Pete’s New Haven down the street.

In the past I would have rated Flippin a 3.5 or a 4. However the last two times we have had pizza from Flippin the ingredients were sub par. The only pizza we really like from them is the Brooklyn. So last month we ordered delivery and when the pizza arrived it was barely warm. The sausage was not the normal sausage they use, overcooked and very few. The sauce tasted canned without any doctoring,(added garlic, basil and oregano) and not like it used to. The garlic cloves were were less than 10, before you could get cloves on nearly every piece. Only 3 slices had cloves. The final nail in Flippin’s coffin will be the fact that they charged our card 3 times in two days!!! We just got our statement and found that we were charged $ 60 for pizza that we never ordered and never authorized on our card. I am going to avoid Flippin as it seems that they have thrown ethics and their motto about fresh ingredients out the window. I will be calling for an explanation of why our card was charged 3 times. I will update review after I have their story.

I got this pizza 3 times and have been trying to figure out why I don’t really like it. Not that I gave it much thought after eating it, but I noticed that I am always hesitant when it comes to this place. Well I figured it out last night. THISPIZZADOESNOTCOMEWITHTOMATOSAUCE! I don’t know what kind of foolery this is, but I shouldn’t have to ask for it. Don’t get me wrong, the ingredients that they do give you are very good. I did remember that I liked the fact that the pizza wasn’t very salty, which is why they got my money last night. But bread with only cheese on top of it can be very dry. I ordered the tomato basil pizza this time. They were skimpy with the basil, and the tomatoes didn’t help the dryness. My delivery was late, so the pizza was cold. Can you imagine heating up pizza that was already DRY? Doesn’t taste very good. 2 Stars
