The toppings are decent, and numerous. The pizza is made fresh and ready within 4 – 5 minutes. It’s OK but a little expensive. A pizza that’s equivalent in size to a slice costs $ 5.6. A little too much.

This review is for the customer service, not the food. Tried 3 times to order food. 2nd time someone picked up but immediately hung up. 1st and 3rd… rang, rang, and rang, no answer. Food looks good from the pix but never got to try.

No longer that cheap. It used to be but they raised the price to $ 8.27. At that price point they will be hard pressed to compete with the two new fast casual places coming to downtown.

The signage on the storefront says super fast pizza and it’s anything but. It’s at best mediocre much rather eat at love& pizza or DC pizza.

Same great customer experience I have experienced in Seattle. Good pizza, prepared fresh and quickly.

Great concept: All toppings included with the price and super-duper fast cooking. Even better: The gluten-free crust($ 2 extra), the quality ingredients(especially the vegetables and roasted garlic cloves) and friendly staff. If I had one druther I’d hope for something a bit less salty, but I have that complaint about basically every restaurant these days.

I was looking for a light and quick meal and MOD Pizza did the trick. I opted for the mini mod 6 inch pizza. This restaurant does not offer you a choice of bread; all pizzas are served on a white dough base that looks more like flatbread. I chose the crushed garlic rub for my sauce. Next, I added mozzarella cheese, grilled chicken, meatballs, bell peppers, artichokes, Brussels sprouts, and onions. I felt like I came out with a relatively healthy meal based on the toppings that I chose. The cost was a little over $ 5 and the pizza was ready in less than ten minutes. I topped it off with fig balsamic glaze. I enjoyed my pizza and I’d probably stop by here again if I was in the mood for a quick bite. This location seems to draw a reasonable crowd despite being on a block with so many other restaurants. There’s seating inside as well as outside the restaurant. While my visit was OK, there were a few things that weren’t up to par: 1) The person handling the money was the same person slicing the pizzas and adding garnishes before serving them to the customers. I’m sure this is a food safety violation since he wasn’t wearing gloves while handling the food and he did not wash his hands when switching from register duties to his food handling duties. 2) The wrong name was called for my order so I didn’t immediately realize that my order was called. Good thing I went up to the counter to inquire about my order otherwise my pizza might have gotten cold while lying off to the side waiting to be claimed.

Mouse? Nope nope nope. I like you, MOD Pizza, I really do. The pizza I had last night was awesome and half of it is sitting in my fridge for dinner tonight. Great value for money, tasty ingredients, fast. But seeing a mouse skitter across my path last night, inside the front door as I was leaving was not cool. NOTCOOL. At all. Fix this ASAP.

Yum! Fresh & fast. Crust has great taste. Not too thick but not so thin it gets soggy. You get as many toppings as you want.

Fast and cheap! Get the $ 7.87 pizza for yourself. You can eat it all by yourself. It’s thin crusted and you can customize it any way you like. I got the #3 «Tristan». I swapped the red peppers for red onions and added chopped basil. It was out in a flash. I like that. It was really good, and $ 8.34 w/tax. With so many topping to choose from you can’t go wrong unless YOU screw up and put together a train wreck of a combination. Friendly service is a bonus!

Love this place, love the staff, and love Harry! My wife and I eat here at least once a week. They take my gluten allergy very seriously. They follow very strict procedures to avoid cross contamination, and I have never had an accidental glutening. They use Udi’s GF pizza crusts(I assume) and I can get a delicious, freshly cooked pie, fully loaded with quality ingredients(bacon, salami, roasted red peppers, roasted garlic, blue cheese) for less than the cost of a cheese only Udi’s from Whole Foods. We have NEVER had a problem with cleanliness of the establishment, customer service, or hostile or homophobic staff. Harry is wonderful and halarious. He loves his customers, he’s always been a joy to myself and my wife, and we’ve switched to Mod being our regular pizza place because Pete’s doesn’t have the same quality, portions, prices, or cleanliness.

I came here with my bf for a quick bite to eat before heading to the Fillmore. This place is sort of like a chipotle but for pizza – you can get real creative and make your own or you could choose one of theirs. Also, what I like is that you can modify one of their crafted pizzas – I didn’t realize that until afterwards. Some pizza places are strict about modifying a crafted pizza. My bf created his own pizza and I got the Caspian. We both got the MOD size, which is their version of a regular – they also have the mini and mega(I think). Also, they have gluten free pizza dough. However, I do have to mention that some of the staff seemed to not know what went on some of the crafted pizzas – I told one girl that I wanted a Caspian/number 9 and she looked at me with a confused look. She then looked at the wall to see what went on that pizza. Now, she could be new so I’m not making a big deal about it, but it was just a little weird is all. I got a chance to talk to the manager – he was very approachable and personable. Now for the pizza, my bf tore his up, as for me, I like it but didn’t love it. I think they od’d on the gorgonzola cheese and something about the crust seemed off, sort of chewy even though it’s thin. When I got to the top part(the part with no cheese or toppings on it), I left that aside. All in all, I would come back and try one of their other creations. The price was definitely right and the service was good. I give MOD Pizza 3 stars.

Just tried this for lunch and WOW! Very very tasty pizza for lunch. Love the mini size and all of the choices for toppings. And $ 6! I will definitely be back. I’ll try the salad next time. I’ve never worked in Silver Spring but now that I do, I’m really excited about this place. Yeah!!!

I have noticed some other reviews claiming that the pizzas here are bland. In two visits so far I’ve not had that problem — it would more be a description of some of the pizza I’ve had at CiCi’s than here. Of course, it depends on what toppings you get, and I’ve had anchovies among my toppings both times, which are highly flavored in themselves.(But I love anchovies on a pizza! Since this is one of the few things MOD Pizza has and &pizza doesn’t, when I come here I’ll probably ask for anchovies almost every time.) I mischaracterized the beverages in my earlier review. They have house-made flavored iced tea and lemonade choices, but the fountain sodas are Coke products. I like MOD Pizza’s berry lemonade better than &pizza’s ginger-berry lemonade(which I find not sweet enough) but &pizza has their fig/pear soda which is better than anything here. All in all, I stand by my earlier comment that both chains make delicious pizzas, each has its plusses and minuses compared with the other, and it really depends on transportation as to which is likely to get my business on any specific occasion.

MOD is a must try pizza place in downtown Silver Spring. It’s to go place for amiable gathering or fast lunch break. I tried Maddy Classic Cheese Pie pizza even though the price was the same for any toppings. They also have their house signature drinks and I had strawberry milkshake. They have a good service with amazing stuff than most places around.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with my dining companion. The pizza just was not good. Crust: The crust had little to no flavor, and the flavor that it did have was of the char it received(not in a good way). Toppings: I was trying to recreate my favorite pizza from &pizza«The Gnarlic» and found it funny that as one of the«sauces» they have a container full of chopped garlic. But it wasn’t freshly chopped, you could tell it was the processed pre chopped and canned garlic that comes out of a bottle. I find that garlic to not really taste like garlic so I opted for some of the red sauce with a little of their white. Both I found bland. I also decided to add salami to half of the pizza, basil, and roasted garlic. The roasted garlic clearly was not roasted enough, having the pale complexion of lightly sauteed onions. Perfectly roasted garlic should be a golden caramel colored. The basil that was added to my pizza was pre chopped. I’ve never seen pre-chopped basil on a fast casual line before(be it pizza, italian, or middle eastern) mainly because it turns black once it’s chopped. And sure enough, this basil was blackened due to oxidation as well. I feel like this is a bit of a rookie move. To the pizza builders credit, she asked me if I wanted to add more cheese on top of the basil so it didn’t burn in the oven, and I did. Overall impression: The pizza was just bland city. From the crust to the toppings, I just really didn’t enjoy it. I kept adding parmesan and red pepper flakes to give my pizza some gusto, but it did little to help what I considered a fairly lost cause. I’m hoping that it’s opening week issues that are causing an experience like this, and that the company will improve with time. After looking at their site and seeing what looks to be over 30 locations nationwide on their map, I’m somewhat surprised. And I feel bad saying that, but for me the product really doesn’t hold a candle to &pizza and I really feel like I didn’t get my moneys worth(which albeit was not that much).

Overall Impression: Not worth the calories Pizza is one of my favorite indulgences anytime, any day. I love it from Chuck E Cheese, from Costco, from a hot, brick oven, frozen, and even in bagel format! What I’m trying to say is, I do not discriminate on pizza but my experience at MOD Pizza was disappointing to say the least. As soon as I walked through the assembly line, I wanted to walk out. The crust that they roll out looked like a flat, thin, tortilla and was not very appetizing looking at all(that being said it did puff up a little bit after baking so it has that going for that). I am a pizza purist so I went with the classic tomato sauce. When the team member put the sauce on my pizza, he found an unidentified object in the sauce, pulled it out, put it close to his face to examine it, and then threw it away right in front of me. I was a little bit grossed out but assumed that it was a pepperoni or something but I wish the team member was a little bit more slick about it since it was not pleasant to watch. He was able to pile on the rest of the ingredients without any mishaps but I could not help but notice that the arugula was wilted and yellowing and the basil was turning black. I gave it the benefit of the doubt because I was starving, paid for my food and went to find a table which I ended up wiping down myself since none of them had been properly bussed. While I waited for my pizza I went to the bathroom and also found it to be a mess(nothing disgusting, but nothing that made me feel like I wanted to return). The pizza came out and all I can say is that my wallet and stomach would have been happier if I went with Digiornio. I was excited because they had been generous with whole roasted garlic cloves but the scent and flavor it gave off was of artificial grape cough medicine. I thought perhaps someone had sprayed the store or had finally cleaned the bathroom but after looking around and asking my tablemates we were surprised that the taste came from the garlic. They are new so I hope that they are able to get their food quality and customer service on the up and up soon but based on this experience, I was not impressed… or even satisfied at all.

Good location. Today is the grand opening and you can clearly see the training taking place. Even with that the service was friendly and besides the small wait for my pizza to come out of the oven it was rapid. They had a fun photo booth. I had the pizza with bbq sauce on it. It was tasty while hot. Not so much once it cools down. Nice variety of food however. I hadn’t ever been to a MOD before and I think they expected me to know the lingo. I didn’t. lol. So I’m like«I’m sorry what?» and they put it all in laymen’s terms for me. lol I’d be willing to try another dish there.

The latest in a series of fast casual assembly line pizza chains in and around the District, MOD just opened in the heart of Silver Spring. The interior is larger than it looks from outside, and convenient to the Metro and to the movie theaters and other attractions in the area. Their crust is quite thin(and it’s just one crust choice or gluten free, unusual for this type of place, but fine by me). The toppings are fairly diverse, and include plenty of vegetables, a wide variety of cheeses(including a dairy-free cheese that was not evident from the company’s online menu). Their drink options are standard big box stuff. They do salads along with pizzas, which they seem fairly well equipped to do, and they offer different sizes of both pizzas and salads, which these places often don’t. Their basic ingredients were of good quality, and I found their crust, sauce, and cheese quite flavorful. I also appreciated some of the niche options, like asiago cheese and rosemary, which add a worthwhile dose of flavor. Where I was not impressed is with the process. Perhaps I’m spoiled by their local competitor’s efficiency and care, but not nearly enough effort went into keeping ingredients separate. People were using the same(gloved) hands for meat and other things, and they didn’t have separate pizza slicers for meat-free pizzas. They had a system to track whose pizza was whose, but it seemed needlessly chaotic and there were employees stepping all over each other. Maybe some of this is opening day jitters, but this is an established chain, and some of this is systemic stuff that they could do better if they wanted to. The price isn’t bad, though the crust is thin and with my modest taste in toppings, it wasn’t quite as filling of a pizza as I might have hoped. I liked that they didn’t harangue me for wanting chickpeas on both my side salad and on the pizza itself, but someone should probably explain to their employees that«chickpea» and«garbanzo bean» are the same thing. All told, it’s a convenient quick bite, but neither the best food option in Silver Spring nor the best overall in fast casual pizza.
