So glad my boyfriend and I made it to Red Buffalo Café. We tried a few other local coffee joints in the area, but this one took the cake. The ambiance is nice and relaxed, the baristas are friendly and helpful, and their other café treats looked appetizing as well. I ordered a nonfat cappuccino each visit, and it was just the thing I needed before a day of hitting the slopes. My boyfriend tried the Nutty Professor Latte(white macadamia nut latte), and he and I were both pleased that it had just the right amount of flavor, without a ton of added sugar/syrup. It wasn’t like one of those Starbucks flavored lattes where you feel like you just ate three candy bars after consuming it. I also appreciated this establishment selling«day-old» pastries for 50% off. I did notice this trend a lot in the Silverthorne/Frisco area, and was really pleased to see this. I wish Cincinnati areas could adopt this rule as well, no need to waste a day-old treat! We split a cinnamon roll one morning(of which they warmed up for us), and it was amazing. The next time I am in Silverthorne, this will continue to be my coffee stop shop before the mountains, or the fun drive back to Denver. I want to try more of their breakfast items, so I will be back!

Red Buffalo is one of my staple places to go. It’s never packed but often has a lively energy with people chatting, working, or reading. The baristas are kind and welcoming. Live in Summit County or just visiting? Want some good coffee and a peaceful spot to meet a friend? Come and give Red Buffalo a sip!

Good vibes in here. The vanilla latte was excellent and the barista drew a heart in the foam which was a nice touch.

Laid back, a locals kinda place. Good coffee, had an Americano. Cool surprise out back, steps away is the river! Was not frozen late December. They also have outdoor seating which must be amazing starting in Spring. Nice lady behind the bar, laid back, calm… Exactly what’s needed when on vacation. Cherries on top: 2 rocking chairs among assorted seats — very cool Why not 5 stars? Going forward I’m reserving them for exceptional places, i.e. Michelin Star earning L’Ambroisie, Paris; they exist, provide a sublimity we can’t dismiss.

I just stopped in with two friends and all of us love this café. The coffee and food are both delicious(we got hazelnut flavored coffee, bagels, and burritos). Many great coffee choices and a great coffee shop environment. I’d recommend this to anyone!

This place is awesome! Better coffee than Starbucks. They stayed open late when the weather was bad so we had somewhere to chill with 70 was closed. Cool people working there too!!!

Good food and tea, but service can be slow. Our server was new, but also a Chatty Cathy which didn’t help. All that aside, their selection of teas is wonderful — I highly recommend the Earl Grey Cream! Also, try the cinnamon coffee cake, absolutely to die for!!!

I used to love this place. Unfortunately, today the baristas had a long and graphic conversation about guns and hunting while I was trying to relax. Could it be because a military store moved in next door? Has the place changed hands? I know hunting is a sad fact of life in Colorado, but I don’t think talk of exit wounds and how fast a deer drops due to the badass barista’s mad killing skills belongs in a restaurant of any kind.

Always welcoming and keeping the environment relaxed and open. Staff is top notch and humorously witty. Good selection of teas at a decent price. Views are great as an extra bonus.

Debatable if this is the best in Summit. Definitely in Silverthorne because not only do they have great coffee. From the front you can see the mountains AND in the back there is a patio area along a walking path with the creek running no less than 9 steps away. Great coffee, atmosphere, people, prices, and everything else. You can work or hang out a few people.

Spent the day working here today. Coffee was fantastic and the staff was great! If you find yourself in town definitely stop by and don’t forget to enjoy the patio outback!

There are two main things that make this coffeeshop really stand out. I’ve spent a month in Summit County camping and countless hours in area coffeeshops. My coffee and bagel here are seriously less than half as much as I paid everywhere else. The gouging that goes on at area resorts is amazing. I know that rent is high but $ 5 for a reg size bottled orange juice is over the top(keystone coffee shop). If you’re looking for a place with a comfortable vibe where you can hang out and use Wi-Fi, this is a great choice. The back patio is right along the water’s edge and is especially lovely and cozy on a fine day. There are used books for sale inside and a variety of comfortable seating.

To be quite honest, I agree with many of the reviewers here and this is an enjoyable coffee shop in a perfect location. The apple cinnamon bagel was fantastic and I tried the nutty professor which was an enjoyable drink. The shop Lost two stars because the barista was abrasive and passive aggressive. The little shop had so much atmosphere and character, but the attitude of the barista killed it all. My excitement was quickly turned into dismay and the cute shop no longer has this origanum finesse within moments of stepping into the shop. What happened was my fiancé was feeling sick and was not interested in having any coffee at the moment(I had talked her into letting me come the shop). My fiancé had about an 1⁄8th of a leftover sandwich and the barista aggressively talked past me, while I was ordering, in attempt to coheres my fiancé to buy something. My fiancé stepped outside and the barista lectured me about the ethical issues of brining the sand which into the shop without ordering anything for my fiancé. Ignoring that experience the coffee and food was fantastic but the experience stressed out my wife and really ruined the shop’s appeal.

This is my husband’s fave mountain coffee stop. I had a n iced tea spritzer which was so refreshing. We sat out back by the river. Such a great spot. The staff is so friendly and kind. I also stopped in the restroom where they have all these pics I’d mountain outhouses. So great.

This is fast becoming a comforting ritual whenever I’m near Silverthorne. The absolute perfect place to grab a chai and a breakfast burrito before hitting the slopes, or after, as they serve the burritos all day. Small and intimate, lots of locals, dog friendly(I often see a dog with a customer in here, sweetly lying by the table). The service is almost always amazing, except when that one guy is there — snarky, sarcastic people are my people! but I always feel downright disliked and disrespected by the dude’s comments and sighs. All the female barristas are phenomenal though. Huge selection of teas. Very environmentally conscious(compostable disposables). Great vibe.

Well made and affordable warm drinks are just what is needed before, between or après skiing. The ambiance is great and the parsons working here have vibrantly colorful and comedic personality. Come with your best puns. I ordered tea and it was excellent.

Strolled in to this place during a bitterly cold day in late December. Having just finished a round of shopping and waiting-for-others-to-shop at the outlets, my hands were cold and my face nearly numb from the blustering Colorado winds. Inside the doors, salvation awaited. I’ve noticed that a lot of independent coffee shops have similar appearances. I don’t know quite how to describe it, but you know it when you see it. Until this gets co-opted by the national chains and the laughable imitators, it’s a good indicator that the place you’re entering has some good joe. I opted for a drink called the Smoke Stack, which the barista described as «decadent.» Not the word I would have used, but that’s the pedant in me. The drink contained nutella and marshmallows, among other ingredients. So maybe it was decadent. It warmed me up and tasted great, which is what really matters anyway. I figured I’d ski off the calories the next day. I wish I had the opportunity to come here more during my short trip to Dillon, but that never came to be. A shame, since their other drinks looked great and the café offers several pastries and other products. A wax-wrapped chocolate that bills itself as perfect for hikers caught my eye; next time.
