We returned to the Lighthouse Inn, having taken a few months off following what I thought was a subpar evening there(we have been there any times and have come to expect great things from them) That said, we took out of town family and we had another amazing meal at the Lighthouse. It is not cheap, but they have fresh, well-prepared seafood and the service is generally good. I remain a fan.

The Lighthouse on Solomon’s Island has a wonderful location on a pretty harbor right near where the Patuxent River meets the Chesapeake Bay. It’s a good waterfront place to enjoy food or drinks and especially for a large party which we were. They actually nicely and efficiently accommodated 27 of us on 15 minute notice — all ordering off the menu. I opted for a duck stroganoff special for my entrée but I shared a Maryland crab soup as well as some Chesapeake Bay oysters. All this went very well with a Maryland DuClaw beer. There is only a small parking lot so parking can be a problem for non-local diners as there is limited non-resident parking on the streets. But if you do find a place to park, I think you’ll appreciate the view, food and libations served up at the Lighthouse.

Great food and service with amazing water front views! Summer time is a great time to visit this restaurant and bar! You can dine right beside the water on the outdoor decks and the bar area has glass garage doors that open during warm weather to give an outdoor feel. The food is not your average run of the mill seafood menu either! Many delish choices and you will never leave there hungry.

Good food, nice setting, and the cream of crab soup is my favorite! Wish the parking was better but, it’s Solomon’s, only so many options.

I only gave it 3 stars because they didn’t answer their phone when I called and I just so happened to see their Facebook that they are closed until the 29th of Jan 2016 for renilovations. At least they could have an answering machine saying so. But the time I ate there before the food was great.

Boyfriend and I came during lunch time on a Saturday. The seating is not that comfortable but the view was nice. Half of the staff just stands around hanging out where customers can see them. The waitresses don’t dress like waitresses. As much as we paid to have a lunch there, the staff should be more professional!!! Professional upscale price should mean a professional staff!

Beautiful setting– probably a great summertime place! Staff was friendly and accommodating. We just ordered salads, which were fine. Added grilled shrimp was very tasty. Will come back to try more of menu.

Delicious food, friendly staff and good service. We went in prepared for a more formal setting but we were quickly impressed with the relaxed atmosphere. Food portions were large enough to keep us from going hungry. We started off with the fried pickles and they were wonderful. The grilled chicken and fried shrimp were very good, as was their special take on applesauce. This was our first visit to Solomons Island, and when we return in the future this will be a place to come visit again.

For an appetizer dinner, there was nothing they could have done better. We had the crab dipgreat. Rockfish bites– great. The boom boom sauce very spicy– hubby liked it and said it had a hint of mustard tang. I dont like spicy so I asked for a tartar sauce and it did not disappoint. Bacon wrapped scallops were delightful but it was the Prince Edward Island mussels that stole the show. It was sautéed in butter, garlic, and oregano! And lots of yummy garlic! Did I mention the view and service? Awesome! So if you come to Solomans Island this is a must!

My husband and I were visiting Maryland and we had a craving for raw oysters and got some inside info that this was a good place to come for those. The view from the bar/patio is great! It’s really peaceful to sit out there and there weren’t many flies when we went(early October, mid-week) so it made for a really nice experience. We went during HH so I had the house Cabernet and it was decent. We ordered raw oysters, the mussels, and the broiled«angry» crab cakes to share. The oysters were great, served with plenty of horseradish and cocktail sauce but I was only interested in the lemon really. The mussels were cooked nicely, but beware there is a TON of garlic in the sauce. The crabcakes had almost no breading, just the way we like them, and they were plentiful. I wouldn’t call them spicy by Texas standards, but definitely not bland either. A good balance. My in-laws got the crab dip but I’m not big into that kind of thing so I had a bite but wouldn’t order it myself. They shared the normal crab cakes and enjoyed them as well. Overall we had a very nice experience and will definitely be back there when we’re in the area! I’d love to try some of their specialty drinks next time!

Went here for dinner tonight and the outdoor seating was fabulous along the waterfront. I had the seafood platter and tried both the broiled and fried crab cakes. The meal was fair and the crab cakes not as flavorful as I had hoped for. I should have asked for melted butter to help add flavor but unfortunately our server stopped by only once to check on us and for as slow as it was it took forever to get my bill after I gave her my credit card. I hope this was an unusual occurrence and this was the third choice as my first option of going to Jerry’s Place based on the great reviews was closed :-(

The food is great, the bar is better!!! By far, the service is excellent in the bar. Can’t go wrong by sitting out there. The bartender, Terri — you’ll know her by the great attitude and friendly personality — she’ll keep you coming back! Or you just won’t leave… Try the Crushes — there’s a huge selection. And they have a «Maryland Bloody Mary» OMG. It’s huge, it’s tasty, and has shrimp on a stick, lump crab meat, a pickle, a pepper, an olive… It’s a meal in a cup!!! I’m telling you… Life is better dockside.

Best quality seafood on the island! rating on Unilocal Is low likely because some feel it’s too expensive. Great food and device. Great for special events or as beverage/burger stop. Nice views of marina, enjoy boats coming and going. Fried shrimp was awesome, high quality and very little breading. My guest’s rockfish was fresh and very large portion. Known for the cream of crab but we opted for bourbon bacon scallops.

Friendly staff. Nice environment on the water. Wifi does not reach to the deck. Rockfish bites were ok but lacking. When I ordered a wine spritzer fRom the bar tender, she asked if I wanted sprite, tonic, or soda… which I greatly appreciated. The hostess staff was attentive and kept an eye out for the person I was meeting.

Love the view, not much parking available on location. Spent a good 10 – 15 minutes on Saturday evening circling for a parking spot. Arrived for a class reunion and experienced pretty mediocre service. Waited about 15 – 20 minutes each time I ordered a drink, and the food came out about 90 minutes after ordering. Didn’t care for the cream of crab soup; too much wine in it, in my opinion. The crab dip that they put in the chicken chesapeake wrap was 98% creamcheese, could barely taste any crab. When you go out to eat with 15 – 20 people you can’t expect anything quickly, I understand that. What really irritated me and prompted this negative review was that I received my bill for my portion that was $ 69 and included tip,(our party was about 15 people an tip gets added in automatically) When I checked my account today the server or management had added on another $ 13 in tip. Now totaling over $ 81 for a truly uninspiring dining experience. Overall, there’s plenty of seafood restaurants in the tri-county area. I wouldn’t waste my time with this one again.

Apparently a new rendition of a restaurant that was destroyed by fire. Our first visit. Thought we were going to an upscale restaurant but it was a concrete floor tables scattered, almost crab house atmosphere. Not a problem, just a surprise. Extensive local fish menu, crabs, scallops, shrimp, rock Fish, with enough meat to keep anyone happy. Had a crab dip for the table that everyone really liked. Oddly enough, seven had the a Rock Fish of one kind or another, broiled, fried, Blackened. Over the top on volume, four larg pieces of fish, enough green beans and mashed potatoes on each plate for two or more. We were the last table served and it seemed they gave us what was left in the kitchen. Food was really good but too much. Had to leave lots on the plate. Our eighth dined had a Crab Imperial she reported was excellent. Additionally, muscles were had as an app and people were happy with them. Only negative was the bar. Simple drinks were fine but after dinner coffees proved a challenge. Many places have different ingredients for a «Nutty Irishman» so I usually give explicit instructions but the menu specifically described what I wanted. When it came one essential ingredient was missing so we sent them back. Upon return they had the Baileys but we’re ice cold and a squirt of green Crème de Minthe had been added. Looked pretty but was quite disgusting. They went back. So, service great, good great and plentiful, bar needs specific instructions for weirdo drinks.

If you haven’t been here, add it to your bucket list immediately! Why, you ask? The Holy Grail of Bloody Mary’s they call the Bloody Maryland. It truly could be served in the Chalice itself. That is, if that chalice held 32 ounces! Crab meat! Shrimp! BACON! pepperoncini! Olive & pickle! All in a delicious Bloody Mary; sorry, Bloody Maryland.

*4.5 Great food, excellent service, amazing views! We decided to drive down from DC on a whim and chose the Lighthouse based on Unilocal recos. Our server, Steven, was FANTASTIC! He was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The seafood bloody mary was huge and full of shrimp and crabmeat. The only downside is that once the crab starts to settle, it becomes difficult to consume through a straw. The raw oysters and the crab stuffed rockfish were incredibly fresh and delicious. We left stuffed with plenty leftover to take home. Something tells me they’ll be seeing us A LOT this summer!
