I had very bad experience at there. It wasn’t good server, food was terrible and expensive. I ordered Special menu which is Grilled sea bass. There is no grilled mark on a fish. That color was pure white. It’s look like they cooked in a microwave. This was $ 27. I complain to waitress and she said I will talk to a manager but no one come to me and say anything. I never ever go back again. I am 100% not recommend this restaurant ‼ Don’t waste your money.

This has been the worst service I’ve experienced in my life. After waiting at least 10 minutes to be seated, we finally just went to the bar. They were not busy at all, but it took the rude bartender 10 more minutes to pour our beer. At that point we were mad, but already ordered some crab balls and hush puppies which were just ok. As soon as the food was served, we gave her our card to close the tab. We realized she charged us for 3 drinks we didn’t have. When we asked the bartender she said she will take care of it, instead she started doing some other stuff while we were staring at her waiting for our card. Needless to say, the staff is so rude we’re never going to come back. Go across the street.

Service wasnt the greatest but the food was pretty good. We didnt have to wait for a seat around dinner time(late) and there were alot of tables on the upper level. The outdoor seating looked like it offered a great view.

Have been to Stoney’s many times with more or less similar experiences as other folks leaving feedback on this page; however, recently I ordered a filet and the meat was spoiled. It was absolutely disgusting, smelled rancid despite the cook trying to cover it up with extra peppercorn. I mentioned something to the waitress who basically said all she could do was offer something else from the menu. I’ll NEVER go back to this place as long as I live!!! I expect this business to go belly up before long! AVOIDLIKETHEPLAGUE!

We had a party of 11 for dinner at 7pm. The tables where not ready until 7:20 pm. The waitress Andrea, I believe that was her name, was wonderful. The food is priced good. Speaking to most of the party we have agreed that the quality was not that great. Most of us agreed it was okay at best. If you remember the parking is shared with all the business in the area so you might have to walk a few blocks to get there.

I’m giving my visit today 3 stars. I would give 2.5 but that is not an option. We’ve eaten there before, so no surprises. The hush puppy starter was good & our meal — the baby crabcake sandwich with potato salad & ice tea was fine. I try not to be judgemental but the restaurant felt dirty. The menu was sticky, the«hostess» walked around with a dirty towel on her shoulder(which was not welcoming & was unappetizing) and our server was just… something was off there. I’ve been there several times over the years & always enjoyed the meal but I won’t be going back soon. I wouldn’t take out of town company even though there is a great view. It felt like there was no management.

Very disappointed with the food considering the price. Crab dip was blah, crab legs were cold. Servers were teenagers, polite, but no one bothered to ask how the food was. Was our first and last time there.

Service was good, atmosphere is good, food is average. Had the local oysters, rock fish bites and seared ahi tuna. We are from the south, but we know good seafood when we get it and here is just about average. Atmosphere is excellent though, had a couple drinks and everything was just fine

I’m consistently disappointed here. The only plus seems to be the view. I want to like it, but it just makes me sad how bad it can be here more often than not.

We had a horrible experience. We didn’t even order food because the waitress had an attitude problem and the restaurant had many out of stock items. The waitress lied and said soft shell crabs are out of season. We aren’t exactly tourists and therefore know this to be untrue. A simple, «Sorry, we are out,» goes a long way towards not infuriating your customers. Additionally, every request we made was answered with a quite rude«no.» I highly recommend avoiding this venue. I think their desirable location has caused management to lax on their hiring practices. I rarely feel so strongly offended that I would leave such negative(and public) feedback. However, this visit was atrocious because of a waitress with an attitude problem and management’s very poor stock practices.

I’m from St. Marys originally but live in VA now. We went for mothers’ day @1:00. We were told no reservations for parties under 12 people(in advance), which makes it very difficult to plan anything at this establishment. Overall, we were treated like an inconvenience and felt rushed to leave. However, the service itself was slow and forgetful. Had to remind the waitress about drink items continually throughout the meal. They also brought the harder to make adult meals out BEFORE the easy to make Kids meals, which made for another unpleasant set of circumstances. I ordered one of the most expensive single item entrees on the menu — Steak(6 pz filet) and Cake(5oz crab cake). I ordered medium, it came out very well done AND cold, not even sure how that works. The crab cakes overall were tasty, but also on the cold side for all of us that ordered them. The steak I sent back and the replacement came out between rare and medium rare. I ate it rather than send it back. The waitress nor a manager offered us any reduction in our bill at all. It’s clear that the cooks were not using temperature to judge done-ness of the meat. The view was beautiful and made it tolerable, but I will definitely not recommend this restaurant if you want quality food and do not plan to return. The service and food quality definitely do not justify the price they charge. The one saving grace was that its hard to mess up steamed shrimp and a salad, which is what my mother ordered, so mothers day for her was still preserved. Side note. Stoneys has started adding fillers to their crab cakes due to the reduction in available lump crab meat which would drive costs up. So they’ve had to balance crab to filler ratios. The ratio is acceptable, but if you know this in advance, you may choose another restaurant with«acceptable» crab cakes with fillers.

I sat outside on the dock overlooking the peninsula. Very awesome views. Service was great. Food was OK. I had the 5 ounce crab cakes. I would go back again.

I have been to Stoney’s quite a few times. It’s my go to for a low key night of seafood and beer. The oysters on the half shell are great, extremely fresh and delicious. Next I’d suggest the steamed crab or steamer baskets, it’s a whole lot of seafood and is usually done pretty well. The garlic herb mussels are pretty good too, though sometimes slightly over cooked. The staff is always very friendly and professional. This place could possibly make it to 4 stars if they had more interesting items on the rest of the menu. Mostly everything else it burgers and fried everything which is the sad state of standard American fare…

Yup this place was ok. First can we pump some heat it’s cold out and yeah my toes where numb from the cold. The service here was ok and the price not to bad. They got our orders mixed up and who’s gonna waste a dozen oysters. Would have been nice if it all came out how we ordered but hey it could have been worse. The crab soup was meh and tasted more like it came from a soup can than a homemade Maryland crab soup I was expecting. The rest of the food was good but not a wow. The best part was the good view for the sunset we had but that was all. If you must just swing by and try but don’t expect to much and enjoy the cool view.

Reserved a table for a party of 15 last May to follow a graduation and this was a horrific choice that my extended family will forever judge me for. I picked this place based on view and its seemly solid Unilocal ratings. The manager confirmed outside seating when the reservation was booked, however upon entry we got some weird table on the bottom floor next to the crab picking area. Redeeming qualities: –orange crushes –peanut butter cupcakes — crab dip app was ok Service was so terribly slow, the waitress would come and only get one refill per time, missing silverware settings plates, new members were not asked if they wanted a drink. After an hour for mostly sandwiches, salads, and crab cakes the food finally comes out. The staff drops 3 entrees and hits my mother in the head with a plate, and says NOTHING, no apology. So I waited thirty minutes of waiting for a remake of a salmon sandwich, it comes out literally raw… For those that did eat a meal the consensus was that the crab cakes were unimpressive with mostly filler, the shrimp was rubbery, salad dressing seemed off, sides were cold, and a series of other mistakes occurred like people getting the wrong sides, meat missing on salads etc. I did speak to the manager and have the three dropped entrees removed from the bill, but honestly I felt more should have been done considering the size of the party and amount of things wrong. I’m not the type to ever try and get things for free but when you drop the food once, you wait thirty minutes for a remake and the seafood is raw it’s like I’m not waiting for you to screw it up a third time. Waitresses was somewhat apologetic towards the end but that same attitude was not expressed the entire service. Overall, the seafood is mind blowingly awful for a place in the middle of the water, service is inexperienced and cannot handle groups or conflict resolution.

Stopped in for something to eat and have a quick drink. Tried the rockfish bites and they were good. Drinks are pricey, but this place has a terrific view. Lots of locals sitting at the bar. They told us this was the best place in Solomons. Not sure if that is the case, but if you want to kill some time looking at the water, this is a good spot to do it.

It was my first time in Solomons Island. Nice view of the water My friend’s mom said they have really good crab cake so we decided to eat here. My sister and our friend’s mom got the baby crab cakes. They were both a little disappointed because they ordered the broiled crab cakes and fries and the fries were warm and the crab cakes were also warm(and a little cold near the middle of the crab cake). I got the monte cristo(came with jam) and it was good with and without the jam. I think the jam added a little more to it though so I continued to add jam as I ate. I also got a side of chips(a little stale). Service was wonderful! We told our server that our crab cakes were not that good and cold and so she apologized and we asked her for a new dish of crab cakes and fries and this time the crab cakes came out hotter than before(got cool quickly) and the fries were hot! The hot fries made the meal so much better. I would give this place 5 stars for excellent service(I wish I knew the name of our server. All I remember is she looks young and has dark hair.

Service was slow, but if you order apps and drinks then you should be fine. The kitchen staff is small, so it does not seem to be the waiter’s fault for slow service. It was not as bad for us as other Unilocalers have reported. The crab dip app was fantastic. We could have just eaten that all night. The oyster shooters were good and cheap too. Crab Monte Cristo was our favorite, and was amazing. The seafood stew… or something to that effect… was great too(creamy seafood mix and mashed potatoes). Rockfish tacos(not on menu anymore but they can make it) were nit as good this time, but we’re still good.

It’s summertime. I’m a Marylander. And I love anything that features Maryland crab on the menu. There are two Stoney’s within walking distance of each other on Solomons Island. There’s the Seafood House/Kingfishers and then there’s Solomon’s Pier which features casual dining, a large outdoor deck, and great views of the Patuxent River. We were pretty hungry and so we gorged ourselves on crabbetizers(I just made that up): the crab pretzel – a good sized pretzel enough for two baked with cheese, topped with greens and lump crab meat served with a mustard dip; crab and shrimp dip(served with bread); and their Broome’s Island crab soup, a family recipe that’s a spicy tomato-based crab soup. I had a po’boy and fries for dinner which I thought was okay: 4 strips of fried fish on a bed of greens sitting in a sub roll with a side of limp fries. Meh. My friends had Stoney’s baby crab cake which was the size of a baseball. No filler is always a plus for me. Why 3 stars? The service was a bit slow and it didn’t seem like a busy evening. Our server was friendly, so I’m not sure why there were occasions when we were just waiting for our food or drinks to come out. The views of Pax River are great, having company is always good, but don’t be surprised if you have to wait around for your food or drink.
