Two people working and 4 just messing around. So much potential at best location but hired all fu people. They are so loud messing around that you can hear them from the bench table.

Lakeview Café is in a great location, right by the beach in South Lake Tahoe. We went paddle boarding at the beach on a beautiful Thursday afternoon, there was a summerfest going on that day so we decided to stick around and check out some of the vendors. At Lakeview Café we got some cod-fish tacos and tri-tip tacos($ 3/each), they really stack the tacos with meat and salsa which is great. The fish was fresh and the tri-tip was tender. We finished our meal with a strawberry milkshake($ 7.50), this was a really good milkshake, but for $ 7.50?! seriously? It was waay too expensive for what it was. Overall the food was pretty good, a few of the menu items seemed to be overpriced, but I was pretty satisfied with my meal.

1.5 stars I was so excited to see that there was a smoothie shack by the beach. The line was quite long, and it looked as if there was just one person at the register and one person in the back. The selection for sandwiches seemed quite delicious, there was even a vegetarian option with brie and pears which looked refreshing. My friend got the sandwich and said the it was huge. I ended up just getting the Coconut Breeze which was 6 dollars. It was overpriced in my opinion… and the quality was lacking. I was so disappointed because it was definitely not worth the money. You could barely taste the Mango or Coconut, but you could taste the honey just a tad. It wasn’t refreshing, it just seemed like they just blended a buncha *hit together… Jamba Juice is better… even my homemade smoothies are better.

Yay — a brand-new place to grab a tasty sandwich in the neighborhood! This café is part the new Lakeview Commons(a superb addition to South Lake Tahoe), and definitely deserves some kudos. It’s a concession-style stand, but with food that’s well above typical concession-style food. Sandwiches include a brie, strawberry and pear panini, Tuscon grilled cheese, and a curried chicken salad pita. I’m not much of a steak gal, but if you are, they also have a tri-tip sandwich. And burgers, dogs and chips for anyone who wants more traditional concession-stand fare. Oh, also smoothies, ice cream and milkshakes. The breads are all from Sugarpine Bakery and I think the ice cream is from Tahoe Creamery. I imagine the café will only be open in summer; there’s no indoor seating, but you can enjoy your food with a spectacular view of the lake at one of the nearby picnic tables or grassy areas in the commons, or at the beach below.
