Sierra Pizza

I love the pizza!!! It had a really good crust and was really cheesy. I would highly recommend this pizza shop in Lake Tahoe!!!

I really wanted to like this place: organic pizza, not a chain, close to home and work! But no such luck.
First I stopped by and asked for a weekly salad catering, they took my name and number to call me back with a quote; and I heard nothing back.
Then we went with friends in person: slow service, they would not honor the Unilocal check-​in discount, and would not offer another type of discount. We are locals… we keep places like these running year round.
I hear the business might be for sale from the current absent owner, I hope a better manager buys it. If you do: please keep the organic idea, improve the customer service (i.e. respond and call back for any questions and business opportunities), and give your year-​round locals a reason to come back for more.

I really wanted to like this place and I am only going to speak on the delivery dinner that I had. The positives were that it was food delivered to me when I had no strength to face the public. The downsides were that it took over an hour after they said approx 45 mins on the phone. I wouldn’t have cared that it took an extra twenty five or so mins but it was clear that my wings were past their prime, possibly reheated. I asked for a small cheese pizza with mushrooms and onions, it had mushrooms and olives. I ordered a Popeye salad and received what appeared to be a house salad, i.e. No feta. Also no napkins or cutlery. I was hungry and I ate it, I had to go get a fork from McDonald’s across the street. I made it clear over the phone that it was being delivered to a hotel.
The person who delivered my food was apologetic about the delay and gave me about 10% off, but once I opened my food containers I was pissed. But I ate it because I was starving. Two stars instead of one because I ate the rest today after skiing. So, it’s good for reheating!

If you like thin crust pizza and calzones this is the place to go. The service we had was great the waitress was so polite. I was looking through Unilocal for about an hour just reading reviews on pizza places in the Lake Tahoe area and I saw this one and saw that it had mixed reviews but decided on going anyway and I didn’t regret it one bit. I would definitely recommend going to this place if you are looking for great pizza great calzones and great salads.

We drove around town looking for a good pizza place that didn’t have an 1+ hour wait. We finally ran into this place and I’m glad we did!
Best pizza ever.
I got a Matterhorn pizza (like a combination) and my wife got cheese. Both were REALLY good.
Service was great. The inside of the place has good vibes and good music.
We got the smores pizza to go, wasn’t that great but we didn’t care because the pizza was great and the smores pizza was only $ 5. We will be coming back!

This experience started on the phone. First I asked how many cheesy garlic bread sticks were included in the order and the female representative said she did not know. She then put me on hold to find out. I then said I had a Unilocal coupon for for Pizza chips and was told it was no longer being taken. Was told the pizza would take 30 min if we picked up and 45 min for delivery. We decided to pickup. Once we arrived 30 min later the pizza was not ready for an additional 30 min. While we waited we asked the female cashier if they had any wine, she responded yes we have Stella. We said that is a beer and she said I was told it was wine. Needless to say we did not order any wine or beer. We finally got the pizza and it really was lacking in flavor and the pizza slices were ridiculous. Some slices were very small while other were huge almost 3 slices huge. We will not be returning

The owner of sierra pizza has decided to attack my review by attacking my character because his service SUCKS! I waited 1.5 hours for 2 crappy pizzas that I was MASSIVELY overcharged for on 5 dollar pizza day. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

Tired after day on the slopes we decided to order into the motel room.
This was the first pizza ad in the room booklet and we were so hungry we didn’t check any further. The employee on the phone said it will be up to 1.5 hr of wait for delivery or 1 hr for pickup. We decided we could wait.
We ordered the large 24″ and wings.
When it arrived the pizza was huge in first appearance and we thought we ordered one size too big.
The pizza was fantastic! Half pepperoni half matterhorn. Everyone enjoyed it (my family is tough crowd) to my surprise we almost finished it.
The ad said ‘Thinnest crust, largest pizza and most creative menu’ it was truth in advertising IMO.
I’ll give them 5 star for the pizza…
The disappointment was the 1lb wings for $ 9. While the price is fair the wings were over cooked. Sorry to say but I think it’s hard to mess wings and you just managed to do it :(
I hope it was a fluke and not the norm.
I’m going to eat your pizza again but not sure about them wings.

We three order a 24″ pizza. It was good. Decent price. Didn’t take long. Great pizza place.

Best pizza in South Lake Tahoe. My friends and I tried this place for first time, and we decided to order the 24″ pizza. We eat half and we took half with us. We love it.

Our one large pizza took over an hour to be prepared and served. We suspect the lone employee forgot about it, but he insisted it was ‘in the oven’ every time we asked during our stay (which again, was longer than an hour). Overall, everything from the water to the plates and pizza took absurdly long to get, probably because the place was so grossly understaffed.
Bottom line — if the owner wants to treat customers to a decent dining experience, he/​she needs to stop being cheap and employ enough help to do so. I won’t be returning unless this issue is addressed

Horrible, just horrible! We ordered a medium pepperoni pizza with garlic chips and it was $ 55 dollars! That alone was bad enough. Then we open the pizza box to find that it almost looks likes two leftover pizzas were just thrown in the box. Parts were burnt, there were no actual slices. Won’t be going back!

Last night we called at 7:25 pm to order 1 mushroom pizza. In order to get to the $ 20 minimum for delivery we ordered a larger pizza and ranch dressing on the side. She says we will deliver in 45 minutes. 1 hour and 15 minutes later no pizza. I call. She says we are very busy. Wait? Is that my problem? Um no. 15 minutes later some guy shows up with a pizza that should have cost $ 9 and no ranch.
Pizza is not really great. Delivery is not on time. First and last time we will call Sierra Pizza. And yes, we live here.

So tonight after work we didn’t feel like cooking so we ordered Sierra Pizza. The girl on the phone said it would take 45 min, after an hour and 20 min’s we called back and she informed us that it would be 10 more min’s. Richard showed up at the 2 hour mark. Needless to say we had finished cooking dinner and were not happy. Richard patiently listened to our comments and did his best to resolve to situation.
We understand the weather and other unforseen circumstances arise, but the girl that took our order and our 2^nd call at an hour and 20 min’s should have called us back to update us on the status of our order. We are locals and understand stuff happens but the lack of communication from her is unacceptable.
We appreciate the effort and response to our comments that Richard showed us. Thank you for your time and letting us voice our complaints.
We will still continue to give Sierra Pizza our business and to recommend them thanks to Richards heart felt apology. It is one of the best pizzas in south lake tahoe so I DO RECOMMEND TO DROP IN FOR A SLICE AND A PINT… thank you

Same rating, and basically the same review. Despite other issues (which a good manager could resolve) this is the best pizza in town (and there are quite a few good places here) and some of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten.

Man, this was a struggle. We REALLY wanted to like this place. We tried. But, dang, it wasn’t easy. The sole reason I’m giving it three stars is because the hard-​working server (Joel, who was still in his first week!) we had course-​corrected everything. Seriously. The bartender? Total space cadet. She never did take our order — despite being the only ones at the bar. Finally our server stepped in and got us some draught beers. Real hard (sarcasm).
Ok, on to food. Our pizza would have been hijacked if not for our server Joel stepping in — again — and adding more toppings. He said the cooks barely had any toppings on our pizza, and he made it right. It was good; but not great. After a day on the lake (August), we were starving, so, admittedly, any cardboard pizza would have sufficed. But, eh, it was just okay. We had sausage, green peppers and jalapenos.
The third star is a nod to the picnic tables outside where we sat, sipped our brews and noshed on the ‘za. Despite there being only ONE table dining indoors, all the tables were dirty and hadn’t been bussed. Ok, cool. The servers — save for Joel — were all just standing around chatting. Lake speed, I guess. If it weren’t for Joel — who in his first week, recognized how poorly and completely jacked this place was ran, and did his best to make things right — we would not left dissatisfied.

I love Sierra pizza. Definitely recommended for a traditional «East coast» style pizza crust. I love to get big single slices that can be «folded» in half haha. It’s a huge plus that they are the first if not ONLY pizza place in town that are committed to using non-​GMO crust ingredients and are working towards all organic toppings. The wings may be small but at least you know they are all natural not pumped up with growth hormones. The staff is always prompt & friendly and I definitely support this local business.

Great fast lunch salads, slices and location! This is a great stop for a salad, slice and a beer.
