I’m visiting from out of town and will remember that the next time I come to Tahoe, I will never come back to this Starbucks. While the barista who took my order was very friendly, she also sold 3 customers in front of me food they were out of. It took time to do refunds. It took even more time for the second barista to make my drink. The wait time has been 15 minutes for an iced mocha, and I STILL don’t have my drink. Save yourself some time and drive to another one– even if it’s further away. I’m sure you’ll get your coffee faster somewhere else, regardless of travel time.

Amazing. The line is literally out the door, 16 people deep. Yes, I’m in line as I’m typing. Two people behind the counter, one taking orders and working her ass off making coffee. Two more staff members stacking the shelves and a delivery man trying to bring a dolly in and out over and over again. Every time the delivery guy walks in and out he has to ask the employee to move and then work his way through the sixteen people waiting in line. Finally after the two girls are finished and after the guys delivery is delivered one of the girls humid in a register and then asks the other girl to help out. Talk about a lack of team work. The poor employees behind the counter working hard while the others lack common sense and integrity.

I feel like the people who didn’t rate this place high made very unrealistic reviews! The baristas are nice and as quick as possible when dealing with large city crowds converging on them from heavenly village. We got out drinks as quickly as expected, everything was right, and the cashier was super nice and chatty. This was definitely one of my more pleasant experiences! 4 stars because it is mighty crowded outside of the large amount of seating!

This is the slowest Starbucks I have ever been to. This comes from a guy that goes to Starbucks every other day. The first time I stopped by, the line didn’t move the 5 minutes I stood there so I gave up. At a later time, there was no longer a line, so I went up the cashier. There were 3 workers talking and I stood there waiting for someone to help me for about a minute or two. No restroom, tiny spot. It’s not so bad as a coffee shop, but as a Starbucks, it’s definitely on the lower part of the scale.

Sitting waiting for my breakfast sandwich I notice no one is baking them. They are just stacking the pastry bags on top of each other, but no one is putting the pastries in the oven. I nicely ask if someone is going to make the breakfast sandwiches and the barista proclaims in a somewhat annoyed voice: someone is making them. The bags sit there for a bit longer and then the same barista who just told me someone was making them must have realized no one was, so she went over and put one in the oven. But now there’s a big stack of stuff that hasn’t been cooked, so I still don’t have my breakfast yet.

This Starbucks is fantastic. I live nearby, so I stop in frequently, and the service is always cheerful and efficient. Morgan, the«demonic ice princess,» as one reviewer referred to her, has never been short of amazing, friendly, and knowledgable. This Starbucks also now serves beer and wine after 2pm, and has an excellent selection of small plates for pairing. A friend and I stopped in tonight, and were pleasantly surprised to find they were holding a wine tasting(which is apparently held every Thursday between 5pm and 6pm). We tried a few wines and then each ordered a glass of Cabernet and were offered a complimentary item from their«Starbucks Evenings» menu with our purchase. Both the wine and the Spinach Artichoke Dip were fresh and delicious. It is important to note that this Starbucks is centrally located in an incredibly popular tourist destination. If you happen to stop in at 9am on a Saturday in August, the line here will absolutely be out the door. If this is the case when you arrive, exercise a little bit of patience and I’m sure that you will have the same wonderful experience here that I always do.(Relax… Aren’t you on vacation?)

This evening I stopped in and there was wine tasting!!! Awesome! This particular location of Starbucks seems to have the largest amount of traffic, difficult language barriers(as there are many tourists from other countires), and centrally located to the mountain(which means there will usually always be a line). I felt like I was at a warming coffee bar, not a starbucks. People, even customers, were warm and conversational. We talked about other enjoyable places, there was no sense of urgency. I felt relaxed and comfortable. The bariatas, whose job is not to be a server other than from behind the counter, kindly came around to bring us our food. For the amount of people that come through, i expected much less. I now look forward to coming here everytime.

Poor Starbucks! Like any fast food or large chain people always hate. Line is long sometimes and that sucks! Flip side… People are nice and ALWAYS use you name. Lots of outdoor seating(packed in the summer) & good size indoor seating(packed in the winter)… I guess it’s a lose– lose? Last 3x I’ve been here they’ve made my order fast & the line wasn’t redic. Plus my coffee always tastes they way I like it :)

This Starbucks has the slowest service ever! You have to wait 30 minutes for your drink when there are only 4 customers in the store. And on top of that gave me the wrong drink.

Waited 45 minutes for one drink. Staff moved way to slow considering the line was out the door. Asked one barista if my drink was in the process of making, he replied«well there are other stickers». Well thank you, that helped a lot. Asked another barista and she replied with«oh it’s right here, you need to ask me». I am sorry I can’t read minds. I was shocked. Needless to say I will not be returning to this location.

Bad experienced here in South Lake Tahoe, been waiting more than 20 min in line and there is only one cashier at the registered and five employees in the back. Approaching the supervisor in charge to open another register and the solution that i got is just wait and be patient. Disappointed about Starbuck customer service now a day.

My boyfriend and I are both Starbucks employees and this is the WORST Starbucks that we’ve ever been to. It’s is a busy Starbucks but that didn’t bother us. What bothered us was the fact that when we got to the register we tried to be extremely friendly and ask how the barista was doing but she quickly interrupted us as if we were waisting her time. First I ordered my drink which was not complicated at all and then when my boyfriend went to order his drink she quickly interrupted him and rudely stated«wait until I punch her drink in.» Sweetie, it is not that hard to type in drinks, I do it almost every day with a smile(unlike her). After we paid we sat and waiting almost 20 minutes for our drinks. Looks like there needs to be an attitude adjustment to the baristas or some new management. From one Starbucks barista to another, your job is not that bad so suck it up and put a smile on.

Went into Starbucks to order a Flat White. There was a long line and customer service was Very POOR. There was one person taking orders and one person making the coffee drinks. There were 2 other people there but doing other things like moping the floor and the other replenishing the pastries. Not either of the 2 stop to assist the person making coffee to help expedite. It took 30 minutes until I got my coffee. This Starbucks needs to be more organized and hire more people during the busy hours. Don’t think I will be coming back to this Starbucks again. Go to the one in Harrahs… Better service.

Typical Starbucks coffee – however, their customer service is not up to par with their capacity to fulfill the local economy’s demands. I am certain there is only one Starbucks in Tahoe and I would more expect the manager to better manage their team and not have two people on a register and one barista making coffees with a line of 15 – 20 people waiting to start their beautiful day in Tahoe.

Avoid if you can. Seriously. How many Starbucks have we all been in? How many times has it been a simple, seamless transaction? This time was different, very different. I showed up wanting a large amount of coffee in one of their portable carafes. We needed coffee of that amount as my family was on vacation. Lo and behold they were unable to fill the order right then and there because they didn’t have enough coffee and were going to have to brew some more. Ok, no big deal. They said to come back in 5 minutes as they brew some more. I came back 5 minutes later… still no coffee. They forgot to make it. I’m a little peeved, but I said okay and went to the restrooms — the bathrooms were a disaster. No TP and paper towels all over the floor. I’d make this a one star review, but they were very apologetic and gave me two hot cocoas for my kids for free. The ambiance including the outside isn’t too bad. Bottom line is that I’m not anxious to return.

Guess I didn’t get the evil barista everyone else is talking about as my experience was good. Was there during a low-period weekday though. Could see where the line could get insane on a weekend. No service problems, coffee is normal Charborks fare at normal prices. Interior looked nice but was small. Tons of outdoor seating on a wrap-around non-smoking balcony shared with the other restaurants, which are largely not open in the morning. I always look for power outlets at Borks in case I need ‘em in the future and didn’t see any here, but it was hard ’cause lots of people were inside. «Sorry, I’m not looking at YOU, I’m looking for outlets!»

After reading the abundance of awful reviews for this Starbucks, I hadn’t planned to stop by during our Tahoe visit. But when we found ourselves walking right by around noon one Thursday, I figured, what the heck. Glad I did. My experience was quite good, nothing like what I had read. Not much of a wait, our orders were well made, staff was friendly. A typical quality Starbucks experience. Additionally, my wife ordered her first Clover drink, and the barista took the time to show her how it was made step-by-step. A good amount of indoor seating here, but there is even more outdoor seating, really a lot of outdoor space surrounding this Starbucks. We sat outside and had an enjoyable, leisurely coffee interlude. Can’t complain personally. And this is one of the few non-Hotel operated Bux in the Stateline area. Definitely was worth trying out for us.
