Best Cuban food in southwest Broward County! Reasonably priced and quick service. Large dining room so there is rarely a wait. All servers are not Cuban but owners are, so food is authentic.

This place was recommended by a coworker and I’m so glad that we went. The food was delicious, the service was great as well. The restaurant is casual, kid friendly and the portions for the entrees were pretty large. We will go again.

I decided to update my review of this restaurant due to an employee named Liz Maria. She elevated my opinion of romeus quite a bit. My original review stated that the service was hit or miss. Today it was a hit. She was very kind and did her best to communicate with me in English(a rarity). She did an outstanding job. I will return and give them another chance. If I receive half the service that I did today, I will elevate my review another star. Great job Liz.

〰Some serves are not the nicest and can be a bit testy if you want to share a plate or have questions about your dish. 〰The management is pretty poor. This restaurant was successful when it first opened with minimal local competition and when Mr. Romeo, was in charge. Now the management is always trying to save money but switching ingredients out for cheaper alternatives, and it tells in the food. 〰Despite a decrease in quality, the prices always seem to be going up. 〰I would come here every Friday with my family and order an Argentinian steak«churasco» but for the past 3 times or so they try changed the meat, and it tastes really bad and has a terrible texture. 〰Breakfast use to be better but still decent. The café con leche is not steamed properly and the coffee is really watered down. 〰Only time it’s worth going is at night to the bar area to get a expresso shot when the male server is there. I always forget his né but he makes the best cuban coffee. In all, this was the staple of my childhood Friday nights and has recently become the perfect example of how a great business can loose it’s way.

Last time I was here don’t know if they changed management or owners but just came back after 6 – 8 months because I heard they changed management again and it was ver, very good food with great portions. Back up to par def come back if you liked this place from the beginning. It’s back to when it was good and if not better!

I was visiting friends in the area and they recommended this for lunch. I thought the food was great! I had the Cuban Sandwich and a side of sweet plantains. I haven’t had Cuban food in a while, but I thought it was excellent. The atmosphere is very casual and the prices are good for what you get. I’d go here again for sure.

The food was great and so was the staff ! I ordered churrasco(steak) which was delicious ! I was even impressed by their rice, beans, and platanos. Usually restaurants make their sides bland and their platanos super fay and tasteless but this place nailed it all the way! Honestly I was very happy to try it out. However, I was expecting complimentary bread and butter and didn’t receives it; but ultimately my meal was more than generous and filled me up.

I love this place! Ive been a regular for several years; the service isn’t always great and the food can be a hit or a miss sometimes. But, you cant beat the lunch specials(lunch service is B+ and speedy in the café). Great coffee and a nice atmosphere. Would recommend for something quick casual. p. s. You must dine in for the best experience; take out just isnt the same unfortunately.

When Im craving some cuban food at a great price Romeu’s is one of my top picks! During the week their lunch specials are phenomenal, table service with a full meal under $ 10?! Yes, please again and again. Staff is bilingual(duh) which is great if you’re down to learn some spanglish free of charge! Parking is readily available in front of the restaurant & you will be seated fairly quickly, make sure to ask for the lunch menu if you’re going in during the week before dinner. You’ll be brought complimentary cuban pressed bread lathered with delicious butter, so yes… its like heaven. The menu is an array of Cuban dishes ranging from $ 1 to upwards of $ 25 a plate. My favorite is the Boliche which is basically perfectly seasoned pot roast which you can clearly tell is made with love, because its delicious! Throw in some rice, black beans & sweet plantains and its the perfect cuban experience along with the Boliche of course. If you’re being cheap how I am occasionally, I order ham croquettas(fried mashed ham croquettes) with some cuban bread & my taste buds party hardy with a side of «cortadito»(cuban coffee cut with milk= the cuban latte) Its hard to go wrong ordering here, everything Ive eaten is delicious without breaking the bank.

The food was delicious. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. We had to ask for water, for a waiter to serve us and 3 times for our check. Some waiters looked at you and didn’t do anything to give you a better service.

This place should not be rated so low. Maybe it’s because of the delivery times… Romeu’s is my absolute favorite place to eat, in all of the U.S. If I hadn’t moved away from south Florida a few years ago, I would be actively supporting this place once a week(at least). It’s the only place that makes the best maraquitas with sour orange & garlic dipping sauce. It’s the only place that makes the best moros and plantains you’ve ever tasted. The aijaco soup is to die for. The Romeu’s style chicken is amazing. Cuban sandwiches and Media Noche’s are amazing. I think they run into problems because they are SO good and they are offering delivery, that they just get overwhelmed. They don’t have enough staff to deliver the orders in a reasonable time frame. In my opinion they should just do take-out and dine-in only. I think everyone should eat here all the time. I can’t wait to go home and get me some Romeu’s.

If I had the option of 10 stars I would give them that many and more. This is home cooking at its finest. I’ve pretty much tried everything on the menu and everything is exceptional. I highly recommend the rabo encendido and the vaca frita, deeeelish! I’m Cuban and it’s hard to find Cuban food that can ever compare to abuela’s cooking but … This is it! And the best part is they deliver. PS try the paella, you will not be disappointed.

This review is for take out as I’ve yet to eat inside the restaurant but have done take out a few times now. Here’s what I love about them. The food tastes homemade, authentically Cuban like my grandma used to make, portions are huge, taste is ridiculous, prices are right on. Each time I’ve ordered take out the orders are precise, nothing is missing and everything is expertly packaged. This is not the norm for a lot of other places. I love ordering from Romeus and knowing each time I will be left with a smile! Super Dee-lish my favorites are the Palomilla steak & the bistec artisenal de res.

I have really, really tried to avoid writing this review. I have been ordering delivery from and dining in Romeu’s since it opened in Pines years and years ago. At first it was truly wonderful, and possessed the welcoming Latin atmosphere we were lacking in West Broward. However, in recent years, probably over the last 2 – 3 years, the quality of the restaurant has totally gone downhill. I have consecutively received incorrect orders. I am not just talking about missing a sauce or a side, but missing entire entrees and having them deliver things that we did not order at all. Also, I have been ordering gallo pinto for YEARS and today I was told they have never had this dish and I must have somehow mistaken them for another restaurant. They are literally THEONLY Cuban restaurant that will deliver to this area of Broward so I am quite certain I am not mistaking them for someone else. Today I also received 4 maduros for a total of four entrees. In my past experience 4 maduros are usually the serving size PER entrée. The woman tried to tell me all four maduro pieces were meant for my entire family of 4. Finally, when I called to explain my displeasure about the missing entrees, my completely burnt chicken dish, and the lack of maduros, I was told there was nothing they could do as they could not credit my credit card and they could not replace my burnt chicken dish because they only have one driver on duty(this is a weekend night…). The fact of the matter is that the customer service in this establishment has completely started to circle the drain.

We went for dinner service for the first time. While we wait we saw like three plates returning to the kitchen. In my opinion Food is bland, service is slow. No flavor at all. It’s a shame for Cuban cuisine. Don’t come here unless the chance completely their food.

Paula is the best waitress. Great Cuban sandwich. We pulled off the highway on the way to Key West for a long weekend and happened upon this authentic Cuban restaurant. Friendly staff, great food.

The recent chumminess of USA& Cuba relations reminded me to write this review. Here in gringo USA(Broward) we get along great with Cuba via Romeus restaurant. This place is a welcome reminder of when I used to live in Miami and had easy access to cafecitos, vaca frita, croquetas and medianoches. While this place surely isn’t Sergios or Versailles, you can easily come here and only speak Spanish. The best part of Cuban food is that it is CHEAP. The breakfast here is so cheap I wonder how they make any money. The breakfast special comes with eggs, ham or bacon, potatoes, coffee, & a large loaf of cuban toast — All for $ 3.50. Coño!!! My hangover helper is the Steak & Eggs. It’s a paomilla cooked to your reference with eggs, onions, potatoes, toast, and coffee for $ 7.95. Guau!!! However, the best deal known to man must be the«Millenium Tray». You get a Skirt Steak(churrasco), Chicken Steak, Pork Chops, Breaded Shrimp, Sausage, Omelletes, Stuffed Cassava with Moro and Fried Green Plantains! This mountain of food can feed 4 — all for $ 32.95!!! Dios Mio!!! I’ve also had this place cater a couple of parties and it is a VERY economical way to feed a lot of people. Either the Imperial Rice(15 people minimum) or Yellow rice and chicken(10 minimum) but they use the Cuban exaggeration factor when calculating people — add 50% and you will get the true number of people these monster trays will feed(1e platter for 10 feeds 15). Each time we have had so much leftovers that we sent food home with everyone. Overall, Romeus is an awesome trip to Cuba and you don’t need to leave Broward.

I lived in South Florida for a while but traditionally stuck with areas such as La Caretta for my Cuban fix. We were doing a work lunch and we stopped by Romeus. The food is not great — I would say it’s probably on the lacking side. It felt more like a cafeteria than anything else.
