Way overpriced! $ 23 a person, and the food was just meh. We had to wait a long time to be shown to a table. I am not sure what the hostess lady was doing, but a drink server finally sat us at a table. I definitely wouldn’t eat here again. On a plus side, our drink server was excellent! Her name is Theresa. She needs to be promoted to hostess!

My husband and i came here about three weeks ago on a Sunday, and we keep bringing up how bad it was, so a review seems warranted. Upon waiting in line for the buffet for about 15 minutes we are seated. The restaurant is not full, we are not greeted by our server for at least eight minutes. I like to get my drinks taken care of before i set out, so i was gonna wait until she came by. Despite seeing us and filling refills at all tables around us. She keeps us waiting, not sure why, not sure why not even a «hello, i will be right back with you folks» as is my customary greeting when i cannot yet stop, just a hey i see you and will be right back. No. She had a normal size section, about six tables with just couples and one larger party that appeared to be an out of town family. She had the time, she just didnt have the inclination to serve us. When she finally did come by we order our drinks and make our way. The whole time in line my husband is gazing at these rotisserie chickens they have in the front window, so he heads straight for the meat section. No rotisserie chicken in sight. He asks the african american man cutting the meat. «Hey i saw those rotisserie chickens up front, where can i find that?» To this the man says as though bothered«we dont have rotisserie chicken tonight, thats only Wednesday’s, those in the window are fake.» First off, amazing real looking fake chickens! Second wt?! You are CALLED the rotisserie, and WEDNESDAY? Why on earth? I mean wouldnt you chose a weekend day for your name sake item? My husband, obviously let down and confused as all hell tells the man he guesses he will take the pork and then shuffles off. I approach and see pork loin and some kind of beef, not ny strip, not sirloin, certainly not prime rib! I honestly dont know, i just know it was some kind of beef, and beef was what i was after. So i simply say, «beef please.» And hold out my plate. The man angrily says im in the wrong line. I look to my left, then my right, no one on either side, ok, no visible definition of a line, ok. I am thoroughly freakin confused. I ask politely with a smile«what line do i need to be in?» He points to his right which there is i guess a small window to set your plate and says«beef side» then points to another small window to his left and said«pork side.» None of this was polite, he sounded genuinely frustrated with me, like he has to put up with this shit on the daily. Silly me saw the large open window in front of both meats(like every other casino buffet) and approached that area for my meat selection. How inept of me. So after the beef and chicken incident we hit up the main area of the buffet. We think its looking good, walked down one side then… no…wait…both sides of the buffet have the same options! The same. So when you are outside looking in it looks like two large lanes of selection one on either side. However when you are in there you can see its actually the same items on both sides. Not to mention 50% was simply salad fixings. I mean i made a kick ass salad but, ya. You know when their largest selection is salad items, its not gonna be great and it wasn’t. The beef, whatever it was, was tough as all hell and dry to which no amount of au ju could compensate. My hubby said the pork loin was OK. To top off my major disappointment in the food options a new table sits, they weren’t even fully into their booth when the waitress came happily up to them asking what they would like to drink. By this time im needing an iced tea refill bad, and have done what is customary by putting said empty glass to the side of the table, my husband as well. I point at them as she rushes past, she saw, oh ya she saw she just didnt give two damns. She brought their drinks and still no refill for us. Wait. Five minutes. Still no refill. A busser comes by to take our plates i ask nicely if perhaps since our waitress is busy he could get us refills. He does sweetly and i see our waitress chatting with a finished table. Ok. We head to the dessert area not expecting much, and thats what we found. Chocolate and vanilla cake, two types of pie. No ice cream, no soft serve, nothing. Yup, ruined my buffet night that week, i only got one slice of meat, very unlike me. I didnt tip well, i ALWAYS tip 20% or more, even at buffets, this time i just couldnt. I can put up with a lot from a server but being straight up snubbed for whatever reason was in her mind was to much. I left her $ 2. I NEVER do that, but i feel she really didnt even deserve that. I slipped the busser two as i walked out, he did deserve that. So i left hungry, from a buffet! As did my husband. So all in all. Crappy service, i mean REALLY crappy service, poor selection, small selection, basically no dessert, NOPRIMERIB!(and this is a weekend, when buffets are supposed to be their best around town.) Two stars because its cheap, the atmosphere and décor i liked a lot and the salad. Ya, thats it.

Price has now gone to $ 25 for 2 people. Believe me, it is not worth it. We have gone here over the years, and it just keeps getting worse. Thursday Chinese night has less Chinese items than anything else. Meat is usually dry, like it was prepared hours before. Pork chops are barely chewable. Lettuce was wilting. Here’s 6 people who will not return.

This buffet was relatively inexpensive compared to buffets I’ve had in other casinos. I was surprised when a server was slicing prime rib. He gave me 2 slices of thick & quite delicious meat. Nothing like thinly sliced & tasteless prime rib that some places serve. All the other food was quite tasty as well. The dessert section had some extremely great pastries. The gentleman who brought water and ice tea could not have been more attentive. When a glass was half full, he immediately refilled it. A great dining experience.

I honestly think I would have enjoyed this restaurant if just one of the following things would have happened: 1) If we would have won some money in the casino. 2) If my wife enjoyed her food. 3) If the food was actually good. The service was pretty good, although they took a while to get us seated. No biggie. The place was nice and clean, and the air smelled fresh(compared to the smokey-ness) out in the casino, and the food in the buffet looked pretty good. When I got back to the table, I started eating my salad, and the word that came to mind was«bland». There was like no taste in anything, including the blue cheese dressing. Today is Friday, so it was«Seafood» night(which I love), so I piled on the calamari salad, the seafood salad, the roasted trout, and fried cat fish. Add some mashed potatoes and rice, and I’m thinking I’m good for dinner. Again, as I start to sample things, it is all just«Meh». Very bland. Adding salt helped(kind of… …not really), but I was thinking that this would just be another somewhat-acceptable buffet dinner. Nothing seemed too bad, but nothing was good either. My wife said that the prime rib was tough, and kind of had the same sentiment as me. What pushed me from a 3-star to a 2-star was the rice. It had a faint flavor of dish-soap. It’s like it was steamed with soapy water or something. It was just bad. The best part of the meal was the mashed potatoes, which were OK. Desert wasn’t bad either, as I had the mixed berry pie, which tasted like it came from a supermarket. So for the money, there are definitely better places to go. Of course the variety is not as diverse as it gets. That’s the tradeoff for it being cheap. Can’t have everything. Besides, Reno is not known for its food, it’s a place to get cheap meals after a day of drinking and gambling. That being said, this is a good, cheap place with a big salad bar and lots of dessert options. At the time we visited in mid-March, lunch had a Chinese theme that included fried rice, fried chicken, chow mein, broccoli beef, and chicken with vegetables. Oh, and lemon chicken too, but it actually had chunks of what looked like canned lemon, as opposed to the Americanized lemon chicken that is battered, fried, and coated in a sweet ‘n sour lemon sauce. There was also a prime rib carving station. Fifteen months ago, my boyfriend made the mistake of having six pieces of prime rib at Toucan Charlie’s. He paid for it the next day when he was sitting on the throne. This time, he had only three pieces. He was still sitting on the throne for a while the next day. Both of us liked the prime rib, however. While this place can’t beat Toucan Charlie’s in terms of options, it is about the same quality. Plus TC did set me back almost $ 40 for two. I didn’t pay even half as much here at Rotisserie for the same two people. Service was very good here. Everyone was so helpful, especially Jeannette(?Janine?) from Scotland. While I would hesitate to call this place good overall, it is good for Reno.

Dirty lights above our heads(low Chandlers btw…) so I could see the dirt/dust and I felt like it was falling on my plate… the buffet was eh. That’s just me I guess; I work at a home care facility and it’s the same food the buffet at my work makes. I tend to skip the food at work and just eat the salad(kinda why I ate salad here too.) dessert was the best though! Service was horrible, server(for drinks only) just left my drink and walked off. He did that a couple times… my fiancé had to stop him quickly to change his drink option before he left us the same drink AGAIN and walk away running basically.(Had apple juice; changed to sprite) honestly cheap for all you can eat ;; $ 12 a person but bad décor and dirty lights and no one really to ask how you are(your lucky my fiancé convinced me to tip) my birthday weekend was a bust because of this and now I know not to book a room here In the nugget. Maybe the other hotels/casino have a better restaurant and service.

The buffet is good, the soup options are usually great. Always a large selection of good buffet food, I’ve been here too many times to judge a particular day but the staff is always great, the food always changes but, the desert is always fantastic!

PROS: 1. Cheap NOTE: price depends on the evening, my visit on a Tuesday night came out to ~$ 12, other nights can be spendy 2. EXCELLENT salad bar. Everything was fresh, and even though there wasn’t a staggering variety of foods, it had all the essentials for a good salad bar. For the salads they had all the important toppings such as garbanzos(my favorite), hard-boiled egg, different dressings, and stringed beets(also a favorite) among other toppings. I was able to make a fantastic side salad that would run big bucks if prepared by a chef. Also included was a medium sized assortment of fresh fruits and small sides(e.g. tomato slices with mozzarella balls which had an optional vinegar topping). 3. Decent dinner food. I’ll be honest, there was nothing offered on the dinner buffet that I couldn’t make at home, HOWEVER, I would never have all of them in one night simply because of the mess of making the variety. At home there’s usually only one main dish, so it was nice to have ~3 home-style main courses, even if they aren’t 5-star options. When I was there, the main dishes were ravioli, a bow-tie pasta chicken dish, and a one or two other items which might be considered«main dishes». There was also fried shrimp(or small prawns?) which were excellent with optional sides of tartar sauce or marinara. There were sides like garlic bread, baked potatoes, and mashed potatoes. 4. Setting. I’ve read a few reviews that speak poorly of the setting, but I thought it was great. The decorations made it feel like a much classier place without seeming too fake or gaudy, and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. The dim lighting was fantastic, I can’t stand places that have lights glaring all over the place. You can walk in with nicer clothes or street clothes and still fit in pretty well here. NEUTRAL: 1. Service. It was good. I wasn’t blown away but I wasn’t left aggravated with the service either. The servers and the hosts did their jobs but they weren’t terrific either. CAUTION: I was here on a Tuesday night around 7:30−8pm. It was a dead time. If you’re wondering how the servers handle the place when it’s full, this review can’t cover that. 2. Dessert I liked it. A food connoisseur may turn their noses at the selection, but I found the berry pie, coconut crème sliders, and the other parts of the selection to be enjoyable. They were about grocery store quality, but similar to the main dishes, I usually would never get to have them all in one place. They were tasty, edible, and a nice finish to a large meal . CONS: 1. Parking I’m not a huge fan of the parking lot for the hotel that the restaurant is in. Saw a few shady characters which made me slightly worried about my vehicle while I was eating. Then again, I’m from a place that is like a bubble from crime, so I might be biased or overly paranoid on this count. 2. Finding Location The garage wasn’t labeled very well to get you to the main hotel, and the signage in the hotel wasn’t much better either for getting you to the restaurant. It took me about 5 minutes to find it after I entered the hotel, which wasn’t terrible I guess, but the only indication that it might be in there was a sign saying something like food and pointing in a general direction. I had to make a few loops around the billions of slot machines until I found it. CONCLUSION: I didn’t give this place 5 stars because it has the biggest selection in Reno. I didn’t give it 5 stars because their items are delicacies to be enjoyed by the most sensitive of palates. I gave it the rating I did because it was just about the best $ 12 meal I’ve every had. Full salad bar and decent dinner items combined with a decent dessert for that price is outstanding. Comparing this place to more upscale places is apples to oranges. Of course a $ 12 dollar buffet will have a few corners cut and a smaller selection, but that doesn’t change that for $ 12 anybody would be hard pressed to find a better meal anywhere. Anybody who expects this place to be the best buffet they ever had is delusional. They should expect it to be the best $ 12 buffet if they’re there on the cheap day. My experience in a nutshell is that it was an exceptional meal at an exceptional price. Nothing fancy, just simple tasty food.

Go somewhere else! We enjoyed sleeping in on a Saturday morning which meant that we missed breakfast at our normal spot. We were headed east and thought we would check out the Nugget since it was easy on and off the freeway. We were so hungry by the time we got there we didn’t take the time to check Unilocal.Big mistake!!! First of all the price…$ 17.00 per person, YIKES! If we hadn’t been so hungry we would have kept going. After the sticker shock we were seated and went to look at the options. We were surprised first at the lack of options especially for the price. Half of the buffet was cold salads which is a bit much for breakfast. The other half of the buffet was just ok looking. After selecting a few items that looked decent we sat down and immediately noticed that not only was everything cold it tasted bad. There really wasn’t anything that was appetizing and we picked at our plates and left. Yuck, yuck, yuck. We should have just went through the McDonald’s drive thru. McDonald’s would have been better and we would have saved at least $ 25.00. Needless to say we will never be back and because of the negative experience we will likely never walk through the doors of the Nugget again. We actually felt bad for the employees because they are the ones who hear the negative comments and likely receive horrible tips due to the quality of the food.

I am not usually a fan of buffets, but this was very good. We went on a friday night, so it was seafood night. The food was fresh, hot and actually very good. The waitress was so nice and friendly. Check the price before you arrive, it changes on a daily basis, that way you will not have sticker shock

In all honesty, it isn’t very good. The décor is out dated, the food tastes awful, and the service isn’t great either. Also, this feels like it hasn’t been cleaned in a while. Let me explain. When I walk in and listen to then music, I feel like I’m in a restaurant that’s stuck in the 70’s, everything is way too dark and some of the items just look out of place. The Lamps are covered in dust, I touched it with my finger and left behind a finger mark. The food tastes like its been sitting there for hours, and there is little variety, you get bored of the choices you have and you just keep eating then same pieces of meat until you’re full. My glass was also empty for a lot of that. Thanks. The food tastes stale and bland. They just add tons of sauce onto it and serve it to you. When you bite down, at first it’ll taste pretty good, then when you start to get to the middle, you taste nothing. It’s just a hunk of meat for you to chew on like cardboard. This is a place I would never go back to unless I was extremely hungry. Also, the way the isles are designed are terrible, two people standing in the middle talking about how their day went, can block everyone trying to get back to their seats. It’s cramped and way too small.

Had a very nice dinner here. The food selection was very good. It was Wednesday rib night. Ribs were OK. Salads and desserts were Awesome. Our waitess Teresa was fantastic, very attentive, helpful, and friendly. Even got 5.00 off 2 dinners, what more can you ask for. Will return!

Horrible service! Janette was terrible. Considering that it’s a buffet all she had to worry about were drinks and she couldn’t manage to do that!!! I will never be back! She kept wandering around aimlessly, totally clueless! Finally I asked a bus person for drinks and she followed through. After finishing my thimble full I waited so long for Jeanette to get me a refill and she forgot and kept walking around. This was the worst and I do NOT recommend to anyone

This place is pure nostalgia for me. When I walked into the buffet I immediately was struck by how old school this place was(it reminds me of the Nugget in Carson City). By old school I do mean that the decorations look like they are older than me. Décor aside, it was also really small in there. From the start of the salad bar to the rotisserie at the end was only 40 or so steps. The options were limited but in my opinion, very well done. They even had little chicken-fried steaks that were obviously hand breaded! The salad bar was huge and the greens were fresh, which I greatly appreciated. My favorite part was the fresh cut beef roast at the very end of the buffet. It was perfectly seasoned and paired well with the mashed potatoes and brown gravy over in the buffet line. My only gripe was the lack of ice cream at the dessert bar. They had fixin’s for ice cream sundaes but no ice cream anywhere, which was weird. Pretty good cheesecake though! Give it a try! Don’t let the negative reviews sway you to skip this place. The Rotisserie is old school but they serve classic buffet line food at a great price. Try it!

This buffet is OK, but nothing to write home about. There is a nice salad bar part, where you can make your own salad, then there is a cold salad spot. The star of the cold salads is the spanish cold shrimp. These are huge and taste so good. The ceviche was not good, nor were many of the other salads. The turkey and prime rib were good at the carvery, most of the other meat dishes were just OK. The mashed potatoes and gravy were also a star. Lastly the desserts were delicious. There were so many, standouts were the pecan pie, chocolate crème pie, and be sure to ask for vanilla ice crème on your apple pie, the ice cream itself is delicious. For a little over ten dollars, this buffet is very worthwhile. Also soft drink or coffee is included.

With a price of $ 10.99/person, this buffet does a decent job. The price, service, and food are all things I would describe as «okay.» This buffet used to be much worse and it is nice to see that the quality of food continues to improve as time goes on. Of the buffet options, more than half are salads and fruit. The options are limited and none of them are exceptional. I personally favor the shrimp prongs or other seafood options.

This wasn’t bad and the service was excellent! A little on the pricier side at $ 25 a person for a smaller buffet. The choices were good though, and the food was good. I was a little disappointed in the dessert bar, mostly pies, not much variety. To have the restaurant right in the hotel is nice for ease of access.

*Gloves and mask for everyone please* I had no hopes for this place waiting in a very long line of tourist. It took 42 minutes in line to pay and be seated. I’m by far not a buffet kind of person primarily because people hover, breath, and in general have there hands all over the place. When food is made on large scales they tend to cut corners after awhile at places like this. The food at buffets has too much interaction with others for my stomach & eyes. The tourist are horrible here(oblivious to others, and ill mannered), parents letting there kids run/act wild even worse. On to the food… as I mentioned places like this tend to cut corners, tonight was Italian night and the food was pretty bland and somewhat thrown together. The breaded shrimp was tasty and the baked chicken satisfying enough. I must steer very clear of these places in the future. I left with a full stomach and a few extra pounds I’m sure. I wish I had gone to Rosie’s as I wanted… either way I wouldn’t recommend this place… your kids cook like this at home people, why eat like this on vacation? Ricky Ricardo has left the buffet…
