We rented out the Big Dipper for a private Birthday party and it was Awesome! The staff was very friendly, Dawson was super helpful and Don was funny! We put up minimal decorations and just had a great time! Perfect for any event with about 150 people! Thank you! We will be back!

Website states $ 7 cover, but was charged $ 9 at the door Thursday. Top dollar for drinks, and even though Website advertises food, the kitchen was inoperable. Customer appreciation is non existent.

Perfect. Incredible. That’s how I/we describe our 20th anniversary party last night. Celebrating our 20th anniversary with 70 of our closest friends, we had the best experience! Hubby and I went here when first dating in the early 1990s, so we were happy when this place opened up again almost 2 years ago. Special thanks to Dawson and Dan, the owners who just let us do what we do! We’d never rented a place before for a private party, and they made it feel like we were in our own living room. If you are looking for a bit of nostalgia and a friendly atmosphere, The Big Dipper is back, baby! –Cara & Doug Coon

The Big Dipper is as real as it gets. The sound quality is fabulous-we saw Carolyn Wonderland there on Valentines Day and WOW. The atmosphere is old school-like a real bar. If you don’t like real… if you’re too«finicky», you probably should go elsewhere but if you’re looking for an up close with the band and you like to get a good buzz on and have a great time… the Big Dipper is the place!

Lovely experience here. I was able to take my wife on a date for the KYRS benefit concert featuring 2 folk bands and the place was lovely that night. Super packed. I really enjoyed seeing families in this venue/bar place. The atmosphere was friendly, there was nothing weird or gross about it except pot smokers outside. That was my one pet peeve. The world can smoke all the pot it wants I just really really don’t want to smell that disgusting skunk like stench. Why the frik would you smoke something that makes you smell like a skunk??? Anyways the one and only complaint. This place is cool. Check it! P. S. They have booze & food if you require those needs.

Very nice venue inside. A very decent looking bar area. Tables and chairs, a row of cushy chairs at a low counter by the dance floor, two lounging couches on the wall by the dance floor, a balcony box overlooking the stage and dance floor… I came to attend Spokane’s indie radio station KYRS’ annual Benefit Concert featuring Wild Rabbit and Brown’s Mountain Boys. I heard they sold out tonight. A low key crowd but many were on the dance floor dancing in the shrinking space as more people crowded up by the stage. Bellingham, WA’s Wild Rabbit was the headliner band. Their 1.5 hour energetic set had the crowd pumped and rocking during the entire concert. What an honor it was meeting both Unilocalers Lara E., who posted this wonderful event, and Dan P. along with his lovely wife, the winners of the Unilocal Ticket Giveaway to the concert. A very fun night!
