This is an interesting set up in a lovely converted home in the famous Browne’s Addition are of Spokane. I visited it after a nice visit to the MAC with my Mom. They serve breakfast till 4pm so that is what we had — plus some garlic fries, just to test them out! I had an omelet and hash browns & toast and dare I say it? The best gravy ever! It was hot and full of flavor and spice. Not just the typical country gravy with some left over sausage in it. SOGOOD! The hash browns were perfect — crispy outside, hot and delicious inside. And of course, you need a long island ice tea to go with this — and it was perfect. Mom got her dream breakfast — everything included — eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, toast and pancakes. Just one of everything, a great sampler. The syrup was divine — not only warm but a great taste of vanilla. No liquor for Mom, just coffee which was hot and fresh — odd at a late afternoon sports bar. In addition to the yummy food — the service was great. Also a surprise since we chose to sit upstairs in the bar area and it was just one dude — he was awesome. Just the right amount and attention and service. I’m looking forward to going back when it warms up a bit to be able to sit outside in the courtyard and watch people while enjoying wonderful food.

OMG! We were looking for a good place to go have drunk brunch this past Sunday and decided to check this place out. I am so glad we did, it was fantastic!!! We started with Peach Bellini’s which were delicious and then my boyfriend and I both ordered the Browne’s Breakfast which had two eggs, 4 slices of bacon, hash browns, a biscuit(comes with toast, we asked for biscuits) and two pancakes. The portions were generous and everything was perfectly cooked. Everything about our experience was fantastic, the atmosphere, our server Ralph and the food — all amazing. I would highly recommend. Embarrassingly enough though… as our drunk day continued we decided to go back and have breakfast for dinner as they serve breakfast all day on Sundays. It was still just as amazing! We basically ordered the same however we started with some tater tots which had bacon, cheese and green onions and if that wasn’t awesome enough, we added fresh jalapenos! Holy crap! I am getting hungry just looking at the picture of those tots! YUMMY!!! I was in so much pain by the time we left from being so full! I cannot wait to go back! :-)

Just had our first meal at Browne Tavern and it will definitely won’t be our last! James did a great job serving us. They had a small problem with the wine being locked up but he suggested another wine which turned out great! Great atmosphere and vibe! It was getting alittle cold but it was worth it!

Wonderful hidden treasure in Browne’s Addition. Friendly bar staff, great service, and always a good time! Try their Bloody Marie’s and chicken strips, although the entire menu is delicious.

Our favorite place! We go here several times a week. Great food by Dave. Fantastic service. It’s the«Cheers» of Brownes Addition. The food is awesome! Never a bad meal. Josh & Justin are the best!

Still love the atmosphere! Great service and try the french onion soup. Omg! I don’t even like french onion! It is amazing. Slight spice with the perfect amount of salt(french onion is typically a little on the salty side).

Had the pleasure of the best corned beef and hash browns for late breakfast today. Very comfortable venue and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and pay attention to their patrons. P. S. Almost everything they serve is made from scratch. I appreciate that VERY much and I’m anxious to go back to try more of their offerings!

Food quality is the reason for 1 star… my food(mushroom Swiss burger) had a chemical taste to it, so I’ll never be back. Yeah, the deck was nice to sit on, so maybe coming back for a beer is in the cards, and server was cool, but the food sucked.

Ahhh, the pleasures of those final days of fall where you can still sit out on the patio but it is no longer sweltering hot. We brought the whole family for brunch outdoors on a Sunday around noon and had a fabulous experience. We were worried based on other Unilocal reviews that service would be interminably slow and braced ourselves for an hour long wait – especially since we opted to be seated on the patio and were the only ones outdoors. This was not our experience at all. A staff member was at our table taking drink orders within ten minutes of being seated and drinks arrived only a few minutes later. I ordered the BLT and my partner ordered the Hangover burger. The little ones had noodles and lots of samples from my plate. The BLT was perfection. Their lime aioli is a great signature that they put on a number of their sandwiches and I truly enjoyed the flavor it added. And the bacon. Oh the bacon. There must have been a full side of pig between my slices of sourdough. Good thing too since my kids kept stealing slices of it. The Hangover burger was delicious. I know because I sampled it and the bacon jam with the angus beef patty and egg were a perfect match. We will be back. For those who want breakfast to run into the afternoon on Sundays their breakfast menu lasts until 4pm so you can bring both those who want a burger and the pancake lovers together at the same table.

We were there early on a rainy Sunday night when it was practically deserted, so were seated promptly. The menu is pretty basic, but the good news is on Sunday, breakfast is available all day. We asked for a wine list, but there isn’t one because they only offer about 5 – 6 wines. Since we’d decided to have Sunday brunch for dinner, two chose bloody mary’s and one had a mimosa. The bloodys are extra, extra spicy, so if that’s not to your taste, don’t go there. Two had eggs benedict and pronounced them excellent. I had steak and eggs and for the money, it too was excellent. The hash browns were just frozen shredded nothing special and neither was the toast. One of us had the Browne’s breakfast, bacon, eggs and pancakes and again good for the price. The service still is uneven and our waiter seemed surprised we were still there, didn’t offer dessert or coffee and had to be asked for the check. Bottom line — it’s excellent in the summer when sitting out on the patio or walking in the Secret Garden. Just for the food, it’s just average. It seem a bit strange to go for the tavern atmosphere when the Elk is across the street and has that market well covered. I’d have thought maybe a bit more upscale might have been the better choice.

I tried this place out recently for outdoor Sunday brunch and I enjoyed it! The food was great and they give nice, large portions. The waiters are a tad slow, but they’re very friendly and are easy to talk to. I’d just re commend not sitting by the bushes outside since we had several bees around our table our whole meal.

We went with our gut and not Unilocal on this one and we were happy we did. The three stars are truly not a reflection of our experience. I had the Sriracha Blue Cheese Burger and Loved it. My wife had the BLT and the bacon was epic. The sides were fine but nothing special. Tater tots looked like they were something I could buy at the grocery store and the salad was nothing special BUT the house made blue cheese dressing was absolutely amazing. I don’t give out 5 stars very often but was so pleasantly surprised I thought it deserved it.

We went to the art festival today and thought we’d try this new to us Browne’s Tavern. How can it be possible to run a place this horrible and still be in business? I ordered corn chowder and was served a congealed, tasteless and lukewarm mess served with a TEASPOON! We also ordered a turkeys club that was a failure as well. The service was non-existent. We waited over 15 min. for service while staff was standing around us chatting and dishes banged loudly in the background. The wait person gave us our food and we never saw her again. We flagged someone down and got our check. We’ll never go back. Why are the wait staff not trained,? Why has this establishment not mastered the basics ~ Soup, Salads, and Sandwiches before opening up a restaurant?

What a great little hipster joint! Spokane’s best patio by far! Sitting outside on the street is very relaxing and comfortable being able to watch the world go by. The food is pretty good as well. Lots of fresh and smoky BLT bacon to go around for two people! And the Philly cheese steak is one of their signature dishes! There couldn’t be a better spot to sit outside enjoying the nice weather than Brown’s tavern! I’m coming back!

This place has such a nice interior design. I love the atmosphere in the downstairs dining area and the bar upstairs during nighttime. We were here for lunch and was greeted by the server immediately. Food choices were okay. However, service is below average. This place should just have a notebook and pen when it comes to taking orders coz it’s easier and faster that way compared to the«system» that they have right now that always sucks! Even servers are complaining about it! When servers are taking orders, there is NOEYECONTACT to the guest! This is because they’re focused on that tablet that is always acting up. I expect more from this place. I just hope servers try to be more personalized to guests and not just focus on taking orders and taking payments. There should also be at least one person left downstairs just in case someone walks in. Coz sometimes it feels odd walking in seeing nobody. Our server was in the kitchen when a small group walked in and they were waiting for a staff to greet them and be seated. So we just told them to sit anywhere they like, then after a couple of minutes, someone(server) showed up.

We had a great breakfast last week so we thought we’d try it again. When we walked in there was no visible staff so we set ourselves upstairs at the bar. After waiting five minutes we started to look around to see if we can find anyone still unable to find any staff. There were seated tables downstairs with water and coffee but no food and no employee in site. I don’t know how to place expect to stay open with no staff so we proceeded to walk across the street to the elk public house and now we are enjoying a fantastic meal in a fully staffed restaurant. On the other side of this review is five stars for The Elk.

Is this an improvement over its predecessor? Yes, I had a great lunch today with two close friends. The service was a bit slow(odd because it was near empty). The food was wonderful; we all ordered the same thing, Philly Cheese steak. It was made with shaved prime rib, cooked and cut on premise. $ 10. I will be back.
