Do you want breakfast on Saturday or Sunday? This is the place in Jamul. Great chicken fried steak, or try the biscuits and gravy. YUM! If you would rather have an omelet, Nathan has several to choose, or maybe eggs Benedict. You can’t go wrong if you come in for breakfast on the weekend. And you can get a mimosa or bloody mary. Lobster on Friday night is also a special treat. Order lobster Mexican style or with butter. You will not be disappointed.

I like this place. The Ahi and Mahi are always good. The Chicken Fried Steak for weekend breakfast is excellent.

I had very high hopes for this place as I was told it was an amazing little bar and a hole in the wall. The waitress was very sweet. We ordered the Mac and cheese w/bacon and I’m more than sure it was frozen stoffers Mac and cheese with bacon bits. I also ordered the bacon and blue avocado burger and asked for it to be rare and red and it came out burnt. I ended up not being able to eat because I vomited in the bathroom, I’m not sure if it was from the food I ate here, or my medication but I spoke to who I think was the manager, and she told me «because there’s something wrong with you, we can not take the food back.» Very upsetting, rude and honestly hurt my feelings. Will not be coming back here.

Maybe you’ve been living under a rock or you have driven by a 100x but never happen to actually stop in the bright blue restaurant. This place is under new ownership for almost 2 years now but believe it or not this actual building has been here since the 50’s, Alisha the manager was telling us. She was our glorious server and bartender tonight. We came in for Taco Tuesday. First time here. It’s very local, cozy, homey, and super casual. Tonight they had a new chef. The food came out delicious and he really loaded up the street tacos. The Taco Tuesday specials are $ 2 your choice: ahi tuna, carne asada, chicken, gyro, or fish street tacos. We sampled one of each. They do not serve the filet mignon taco anymore bummer it sounded delicious. They are in the process of revamping their menu. Mexican beers are $ 3 draft or bottle you choose. Can’t go wrong with Pacifico & Corona. Also, their chips came out warm, thin, and lightly salted with red chunky salsa… they were so good we got 2 baskets full. They have karaōke on Thursday nights. Open mic night is on Saturday. The rest of their menu looks delicious especially their burgers. The bar looked like the most happening spot. Rustic little gem in the countryside of Jamul.

With all the advertising I hear about this place would think it would be more crowded on a weekend. No Mexican breakfast on menu. Our toast came half way thru our meal. Waitress very loud could hear her yell at cook etc

Although the beers we had there were good and the restaurant probably is, I forgot my prescription glasses in this restaurant. I am bicycle touring across the US and I can’t go back to get them. So I called them asking for my glasses. I told them I had pictures of me wearing them, pictures of my glasses at their restaurant and I told them the brand name and I said I could send them pictures by e-mail. They said«listen I’m not gonna give my e-mail address to a total stranger»(their e-mail is on their website!) and the conversation ended there. I kept calling during the next few days but they would not pick up the phone. Strange. Then I contacted them through Facebook and they admitted they had them. I explained I was touring across the US. The person I was chatting to had talked to us when we visited the restaurant and remembered us telling her we were cycling across the US. Then I explained that because of this, we can’t come and pick them up and I asked them if it would be possible to ship them using«collect-on-delivery»(where I would pay the mailing expenses upon collection), I said there was no rush, just whenever it would be possible. They saw my messages(it said«Seen») but they never bothered answering. After that, and because my glasses are prescription glasses and it’s complicated to order new glasses while cycle touring the country, I had to ask some friends who do not live near there to pick them up and mail them to me. I am disappointed at the restaurant’s behaviour. I think they should at least have told me «I am sorry we can’t mail them because of XX» and not stop answering my messages. To me it looked like they only care about making money and not helping others.

This place has exceeded my expectations each and every time! My new favorite is their breakfast menu!!! The breakfast is beyond yummy. I went two days in a row. And for the record I had the best Bloody Mary that I have ever had– simple but perfectly made. You have to try this place. They open at 7:00 am and stop serving breakfast around 12:00.

We checked online for the restaurant hours today, Sunday, and the website said it would be open for dinner. We drove up from Spring Valley only to find it closed with a handwritten note that there were New Sunday hours… to 1:30PM only. Disappointed! Hope to give them a 5 star next time. Fix the website please.

Just moved to the area and decided to try this place out for dinner. Every single thing we ordered was amazing. The whiskey sour was perfect. The burger was huge, fish and chips had great flavor and wasn’t greasy at all, the pulled pork was flavorful and didn’t have any weird chunks of fat that you sometimes find in pulled pork. We were so happy with our meal that we decided to order desert and it was SO good! We got the fried ice cream, brownie sundae and flan and everything was amazing. We left paying just over $ 100 for 5 of us with drinks, dinner and desert it was money well spent. We will be coming back for sure

California Sol hosted the Helen Knoll Foundation«Back to Jamul» event and the food was great. The seared Ahi, dry rubbed Ribs and sliders were excellent. We will come back again to enjoy the food and support of owner Nathan

Such an amazing experience. I loved the food and service. The look throws you off because it is mostly a bar. But I was pleasantly surprised! :)

I went there with my girlfriend. Wasn’t sure exactly what to expect but we were both pleasantly surprised! They had a small band playing in the back and they were so good. I’m not typically all about hearing bands while eating dinner but they were at a perfect volume so I was really digging it. I had a burger and my girlfriend had the ahi tuna. I had a little of hers and kinda wished I had got it too. I was in burger mode tho… and I was not disappointed at all. We ended staying after dinner to have a couple drinks and hear more music. We will definitely be going there more often. So glad we found this place.

Amazing food! We ordered the Ahi Tuna appetizer and Grilled Salmon dinner. The fish was cooked perfectly and the presentation was beautiful. Don’t be fooled by the exterior or décor of restaurant, the food is delicious and unexpected. Nathan was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back next time we are in town. George at Vineyard Hacienda recommended this place and we’re sure glad he did!

The food is good and they have a nice family/welcoming vibe. The back patio is also nice and quiet when they don’t have a band playing. The band was awesome this Friday night!

I can’t help but being a fan of this place, because when they make a gyros sandwich on pita, they do not hold back on putting loads of thick and tender flavorful gyros meat, so much that’s impossible to close the pita bread. The gyros came with house fries and ketchup, but I recommend that you also ask for a side of wasabi cream sauce. Like I said, the gyros came loaded with meat, and for the first time, the gyros meat was the majority of the ingredient, second to the pita bread. Also, what I like about the gyros meat, was that the pieces were thick, moist, and best of all, they had a nice crunchy exterior. I do love me textures. The pita bread was warm and moist, the onions and tomatoes were crisp and fresh, and the cucumber sauce was creamy cool and tasty. It was not only a great tasting Gyros Sandwich, but a generously filling one too. If I remember correctly, the meal cost $ 10 -$ 11. The fries were very good. The were piping hot, crispy, but tender in the middle, and came with some very good seasoning. Now, they were good eating them with the regular ketchup, but they great eating with the wasabi cream sauce. In fact, I told them they should serve it in conjunction with the ketchup. Service was pretty good. I noticed they did not have anyone on the floor when I came in, so the bar tender/owner had to come over and take my order and serve me. However, I did come in between lunch and dinner hours. The place is very basic inside, and it appears they do a lot of bar business, not that there’s anything wrong with that.

This place has made some great menu updates since they were the Greek Sombrero. Everyone’s food was delicious. The Ahi Melt was the best! The ahi was seared perfectly. The wasabi cream had quite a kick! Our group also had fish ‘n chips, a Greek sampler, and a chicken melt. All good! The service was friendly and attentive.

Food was good, the service was good, just lacks energy. Maybe different music… just trying to help. Hard rock is not where it’s at, maybe some house and mix it up a bit. This place could be a winner, but the owner needs to get out and meet and greet the customers. Would love to see you be a success!
