Definitely a tourist trap. The food is fair at best with little to no flavor. The only thing it really has going for it is the atmosphere. Overall I would give it 3 stars, but food alone I would give 2 stars. Edible but definitely not worth the money.

Real good food and service. I couldn’t decide between the fried Oysters or the Cajun a shrimp special, server said no problem do a combo with both. Perfect answer and great dinner. No wonder why the place was super busy with big wait. Worth the wait but we were early enough to not have too.

The crab soup was great! Everyone is fast and efficient. We had great service and were seated promptly. Food was good, but limited pricey menu for small portions. Will go back!

Crabdaddy was packed so we decided to go here instead and the funny thing is that the food over here tastes wayyyy better than over at Crabdaddy’s(we tried it when it was less crowd-see Crabdaddy review). I ordered softshell crabs and those were excellent as leftovers even without heating, the meat was tender and sweet as can be. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The quantity I got for my meal was definitely worth the value. I will be coming back if I happen to be around the area again. Crab Trap good, Crabdaddy nah.

Super disappointed with the bar staff on a Saturday night while listening to the hostesses make racist statements and ignored and treated rudely. Disappointing for such a staple on the island.

Today I ate at this place. We initially wanted to go to crab daddy’s which is next door. On a Saturday night there was a 1 hr 30 min wait at 730. We ended up walking next door and waited only 10 mins. The restraint was very dark. The waitress was clearly over worked therefore we didn’t see her much. The shrimp and grits which I ordered was a special and was plentiful and delicious. All the portions were plentiful and the price was acceptable. Would recommend this place to anyone. Enjoy!!!

Very delicious! The blackened mahi-mahi was excellent. The french fries were some of the best I’ve had. The batter used is very tasty!!! However, the grilled shrimp was mediocre. I’ve had better, but nonetheless it was still pretty good. The service was great and the staff was really friendly. All in all, a great place to go!

I absolutely love Crap Trap and have never had anything but a great experience. On my most recent visit I got raw oysters as an app which were large and delicious. Got the scallops blackened for my main dish. I love their blackened spice but also really like their fried batter. Got the fried brussel sprouts as a side and they are to die for. I could eat a whole bucket of them! The restaurant is always packed but the wait staff is wonderful and very attentive. I would recommend Crap Trap to anyone and make a point to go every time we’re on the island.

Every year we go here at LEAST once during our week-long stay. The menu seldom changes & we don’t want it to! We all gather around the tables with a hole in the middle, for dumping shells & trash — kids & adult alike LOVE this place — crab legs are FUN! :)(There can be a long wait, so go early or plan to wait — it’s honest food & good prices.)

Have excellent oyster on the half shell! My husband and I always get the seafood platter which is plenty for the two of us. Everything is cooked to perfection and they have the most delicious fries!

Good seafood with a small menu which means better quality for the food on that menu. The fries are great!

Food was tasty. The food came out hot and fast. Service was good. The scallops were sweet and cooked to perfection. The Georgia shrimp cooked to perfection.

This place was terrible. Except for the bartenders who were nice and efficient, the hostess and our waitress were rude and not enjoyable. Food was way overpriced and not great. Hate we wasted an evening of our vacation on this place. We will never eat here again.

Food is awesome! Love the fries and hush puppies. A little expensive for the quantity. Family favorite

Some locals took us here for the Shrimp. Mine was blackened, my wife had grilled, our friend had fried, and all were good. Battered french fries, and grilled brussels sprouts rounded out our meal. Both good. This place has been on the island for some 25 years, and good the whole time, they tell us. The service was prompt and good. The beer was cold. What’s not to like?

Pretty good. Crab legs were good. The blackened scallops and soft shell crab where a little salty(but I don’t use salt), yet still good. Great service except I was disappointed that I had to pay at the register. Good for the price. I thought it would be more expensive. Will return.

This place is always delicious as long as you don’t try to get too fancy. Stick to items that are either raw or fried and you will leave very happy! The batter that they use for their French fries and other fried items is incredible. The raw oysters are also always on point, as are the hush puppies! This is one of the places we return to again and again.

We went during our stay at the King and Prince resort. It was within walling distance and recommended by a friend. The place was not very crowded since we were there during an off season. The servers were pleasant, but weren’t overly attentive. We had the crab legs and peel and eat shrimp. The shrimp were good, though my first one was not that great. The crab legs were great, but my fiancé’s were a little on the lean side and 1 batch didn’t have enough meat. The hushpuppies were good, slightly sweet. My only real complaint was that the tartar sauce tasted odd and the water had a weird taste(which may be expected with restaurants so close to the ocean).
