This was a good buffet for it being in Lake Tahoe. They had many stations of varieties. My favorite was the omelet made to order. The desert station was aaaaamazing, last but not least the gorgeous view u have to eat!

I have a lot to say about this place – this was one of the worst restaurants or buffets I’ve ever experienced. The turkey tasted stale and dry. The sushi was gross and did not taste fresh by any stretch of the imagination – I have my fingers crossed that it sits well with me tonight. Even the corn on the cob was hit-and-miss because the corn soaking in oil had soaked for way too long. My first piece was okay since I plucked it from the top. I ended up eating what tasted like microwave garlic bread to fill up. I was more optimistic about dessert, but my optimism was misplaced. The pumpkin pie was so hard the I could press my fork against it with no success at breaking the surface. I have never experienced pumpkin pie like that. The eclaire was okay but tasted more like hard candy than eclaire. I would rather go to Taco Bell or McDonald’s than ever go here again.

If your not hungry, want to pay 28 per person and have a nice view this is the place for you. The water was the only thing that tasted right. Most of the dishes were inedible, over salted or bland. There is a lot to choose from but I couldn’t stomach any of it. Big line to be seated. The view is amazing but you don’t have to pay for the buffet to stand at the bar and admire it. 1 star is a stretch but it’s also a stretch for them to call this«food».

There was a 1 hour wait for dinner, during the 3-day weekend. We stayed in line anyway, since other nearby restaurants may have had an equally long wait. Our waiter was great and very attentive. And the staff behind the food stations were friendly. However, the quality of the foods was average. The grilled steak was more charred, than well done. The ribs were covered with BBQ sauce(I think), but a bit on the well-done side. Fortunately, there were other choices to complete the dinner.

I came here today with my family of about 13 to have dinner so our check came out to be about almost $ 300 and I have to say I was extremely disappointed. first off the price was not worth it they have quite a bit of selection but nothing like any other normal buffet for example we had four children and everything else they had was more adult ish but I thought let me give it a try the meat was so rare I didn’t even finish it. secondly the people who were there first so rude and disrespectful my husband was chastised for asking for a Pepsi after he went looking for the waiter for 5 minutes and was told I will be there in a little bit. my kids and my nieces and nephews had to fill up basically on fruit and macaroni and cheese. As I said before I will not be coming back here not worth the price is not worth the uncomfortableness caused by the staff

Typically I plan before making a trip, but failed to do so this time around. Not knowing the buffet hours of operation led us to wait a few hours before opening. They were scheduled to open 5PM on a Saturday evening. This buffet has a salad bar, Asian wok/dim sum, seafood, sushi, pasta, and desserts. I skipped the rest and went straight for the prime rib and crab legs. Just these two items alone, I was happy. That prime rib pretty good in comparison other places I’ve tried. The waiter was very attentive. He made sure our cups weren’t empty and that we got everything we needed. Our entire party was happy so I was as well.

This was the only Buffet we know without driving around like crazy in the area. It was snowing and as tourists, we freaked out of driving around. I was surprised how popular this buffet is. There was a long line before walking in at 5pm. By the way, check the time before you go in because when we arrived in Tahoe, we wanted to eat lunch but we found out they open only at 5pm. So double check the time if it changed in the future. I have to say I really enjoyed the foods. There were a lot of choices. They had crab legs, shrimp and steaks. It’s my preference that there had to at least have seafood. The only thing is the Lobster tails had to be purchased separately $ 15. So its not too bad if you like that sort of thing. Our waiter was really accomodating. He kept coming back to our table and refilled our drinks. He cleaned up after us all the time and picked up our dishes. It was really a good place. I enjoyed it and the food was great.

I’ve been to Vegas at least three times a year, and Atlantic city at least ten times a year. Tried famous buffet like Bacchanal at Caesars palace and Waterfront buffet at Harrah’s so many times. We went on Wednesday night for dinner at 5pm and I gotta say the food is good. Fresh and above standard. The price is really affordable. We paid $ 80 something for 4 people for dinner. We got seven star discount. Paid $ 16 for tips. Compare to Bacchanal $ 60+(we paid $ 120 for new year eve dinner) and Harrah’s $ 40+ Of course you can’t expect Per Se or Jean George food in here when you pay $ 20+ something. I gotta say, food are fresh and there are so many choice. Especially seafood. We luv the«make your own pasta«station. There are so many choices on desserts bar. You can get fresh made crepes too. Very nice servers!!! Get our empty plates fast. Refill our drinks all the time. And awesome view !!! We will come back when we are in Lake Tahoe next time.

I’m trying to be unbiased b/c I literally ate at Bacchanal in Vegas a week before coming to this buffet, but even being unbiased it’s easy to see that this was the worst buffet I’ve ever eaten at. Worst than Hometown, worse than Chinese buffets, worse than everything. I can’t remember the exact price per person b/c my boy friend’s family paid for the dinner but I do remember the total being over $ 200 for 8 of us. I remember eating at their breakfast buffet when I was younger and I thought it’d be good, but when I walked in and looked at the selections, I was entirely disappointed. They had a few selections. One was sushi. This consisted of California roll type stuff. I whole heartedly will say that Safeway’s sushi is better than this place. They also had pizza. Is it sad to say that this was my favorite dish there? They had different pastas. It was so old and has obviously been sitting there all day b/c the noodles were mush. They also had a tomato sauce pasta and it didn’t look any better. How do you mess up pasta? Their garlic bread was good though. Lol. They also had mashed potatoes. Standard. And prime rib. The prime rib was so over cooked. Prime rib should never be well done. They also had Chinese food. I’ve tasted better at Panda Express. And they had a sad soup station. Their dessert station had a lot of selections, but the food looked like it was picked up from a grocery store. I did enjoy the bananas foster and just put it over vanilla ice cream though. The food was just terrible here. The quality was terrible and the taste was terrible. I 100x would’ve rather ate at Hometown Buffet. And I’m not picky b/c I love Hometown Buffet which isn’t mad luxurious. The one positive thing I can say about this place is they have a really nice view of south lake. It is on the top floor of Harrah’s. But another thing here is it’s extremely dark and the lightings bad. Overall, don’t eat here. Trust me. You’d be taking less L’s by using the money here down at the casino.

Meh– its is a bit overpriced and not very great. Just like any regular buffet, really. If you are lucky you’ll get to seat by the window, have a nice waitress, and bring a good appetite. They do have all the basics, and lots and lots of crabs. Meats are good, deserts lack, everything else is normal. Place is clean, so that counts. Try if you must. May you have a better experience that I did.

Came here after a long day of driving and getting settled into the Tahoe weather. The SO had come here before for a wedding and raved about the food, and being that it’s a buffet, of course I didn’t turn it down! *oink oink* Located on the 18th floor of the Harrah’s Casino, Forest Buffet boasts a variety of food ranging from crab’s legs to prime rib to sushi. We made our way through the cold from our hotel to get a little workout in before stuffing ourselves with too much food. The hallway to the buffet was so effing crowded, but when we got in line we saw we were fortunately second in line. Unfortunately, though, the line was moving so fast because parties were just putting their names into the system with the girl in front(who btw was a super beezy). Why was she a beezy, you ask? When the family of four in front of us asked her how long the wait would be, she fired back, «I just told you it is going to be a 45 minute wait…» including eye roll and the look like she was talking to a rock. Hella rude or what??? Like damn girl, dad just wanted to know how long he had to keep his kids entertained or if the wait for food was even worth it. The mere phrase«I just told you» she used was so full of attitude, I wanted to punch her in the throat for the family’s sake. I am getting so off-topic, but the way she acted in a customer service setting was so bad I had to mention it. Beware of her! It was a good thing there was another guy helping her out as he had way more customer service skills than she had. ANYWAY, our wait was estimated to be 45 minutes, so we headed back out to explore. Luckily, the buffet texted us maybe 15 – 20 minutes into our wait to say our table was ready. We meet the nice guy at the front of the line again and he led us to the cashier. For the two of us on a Friday night, our total came to be about $ 74… not TOO bad. From there, we were escorted to our table(by the window — awesome!) and immediately went to the buffet line to see what’s up. Some notes: 1. Definitely skip the sushi if you’re anything remotely into sushi… seriously. 2. You know what, skip the Asian section entirely — Americanized dishes were lame and their take on a shrimp pad Thai was laughable(and why was it so RED??) 3. MOSTDEFINITELY get the prime rib! Big juicy slices and delicious with some salt, pepper, and a lemon squeeze or two. 4. I saw a lot of people getting their crab’s legs, so they must have been good. 5. Get a large plate and head to the dessert island! Sample everything! 6. Speaking of dessert, they had a tres leches cake that was super delicious! Service was awesome. Our lady was super attentive and sweet and I wish the girl manning the line up front was like that. In the end, we ate so much we were full to bursting! The food quality was not the best I’ve had, but was better than places like Hometown Buffet. It was a good thing we walked here cause then we were able walk off the food we just ate back to our hotel.

The view from this place is incredible(see the photos I posted). Overall this is an OK buffet and a decent deal for your money(as long as you’re not vegan or gluten free — it’d be harder to find options for those). My favorite thing was the crab legs. Fresh and refilled often! So freaking tasty, I got two plates. My partner said the ribs were good. The prime rib and mashed potatoes were all good. As other folks commented, the sushi selection sucked, and the pizza was just meh. And yes, the dessert counter is huge!

I ate here while visiting with my family on New Years Eve. Despite the buffet being busy, our server Rosie was outstanding. I don’t think my coffee ever got down to half of the cup! The selection at this buffet is great. While most buffets that try to spread themselves too thin end up half assing some dishes, I can honestly say everything I had was good. There is a salad section, Asian, meats(prime rib, tri tip, etc), typical American style fare(baked potatoes, rice pilaf, etc), sushi, Italian, and an extremely extensive dessert section. They had a whole lot of snow crab legs when I went– I’m not sure how frequently they put these out but they were DELICIOUS and super meaty. To top it off, the view here is amazing. Request a table by the window and enjoy a panoramic view of the lake and mountains. Highly recommended!

I feel bad that my mom paid $ 20+ for brunch here. The food was predictable(pancakes, waffles, chicken, 3 kinds of sushi and other boring stuff). Everything was too sweet or too salty. I skipped the breakfast part, the Asian part and the carving station. The roast beef was dripping blood. It wasn’t even rare, it was more like straight from defrosting! One of their sushi rolls had pickled veggies in it that was so vinegary that I had to spit it out. Yikes! Our server MIA for a long time, so our plates piled up. I always find that distasteful when you have to look at your old plates while eating. Then, the dessert area totally faked me out because it looked like a lot of great choices, then I realized that everything was Costco pies piled with whipped cream or dry cookies. The highlights were my mimosas(3 per person) and the ambrosia salad. Something about fruit, coconut flakes and marshmallows that make me happy! Note that your member’s card gets you $ 3 off the buffet. Even with the discount, it is too much for mimosas and abrosia salad! You should seriously walk outside and eat at one of the resturants near Marriott lodge than eat here. The Reno one is slightly better.

Meh. I’ve had better buffets in just about every casino I’ve visited. I’m giving it three stars because my wife and I went for Sunday brunch, which was horrible and extremely overpriced. Their«eggs to order» were eggs poured from a milk carton and everything just seemed«blah». However, we went back on Tuesday for Italian night and the place redeemed itself. All the dishes that I had were tasty, and there wasn’t a long line to be seated. However, my main complaint for this place is the hours. They close at 8:30PM! Correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s right when I’m getting hungry and my pockets are almost empty from blackjack. In a nutshell — skip the brunch and get there early for dinner!

Harrah’s, Harrah’s, Harrah’s. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Indian Casino’s have devastated the Stateline and Reno casino industry. The competition for gaming dollars has caused the Indian Casino’s to work harder to compete amongst themselves and Nevada. While they build new facilities with nice buffets, older casinos in Tahoe and Reno just seem to fall by the wayside.

Absolutely, 100% satisfied with my dinner. To start, we arrived at 5pm, as soon as the buffet opened. We were sat right next to the windows, which is on the 18th floor of Harrah’s Casino. Breath taking view of Lake Tahoe. The buffet food was very good. A wide assortment of dishes to make everyone happy. The prime rib was delicious, and cooked just right. I would also recommend the southwest mac & cheese and the lasagna. The service was quick, and we never had an empty drink. The buffet was busy, but I never felt crowded or rushed. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this buffet to anyone visiting Lake Tahoe. We will be back.

+/-THE FOOD The food was just okay because for every good dish, there was a poor dish to balance the scale. I really enjoyed the rib eye steak. It was grilled to perfection and cooked medium well(I wish it was medium or even medium rare) but it was still very juicy! The green beans were surprisingly very good too. I think there is a slight miso taste to it, making it not as salty as I had expected. The sauteed vegetables was also a big hit because there was a huge variety of lightly salted vegetables. The crab legs were either hit or miss because it was either really salty or really fresh tasting. The big misses included salmon(way too dry and weird flavor), roast beef(extremely salty), and clam chowder(very gloppy and very apparently from can). — THEPRICES The prices for dinner were $ 35 for adults and $ 18 for children. Although there was a lot of variety of foods, there’s only very few items that were really worth that hefty price. Good thing I’m not ever around here so spending my money on this buffet was worth the try.
