Z Two Restaurant Diner and Lounge

I am appalled at what happened at Z Two today. First, let me start out by saying my family frequents this restaurant a lot. We walked in today and my parents (who are in their 80’s) were in front of me, walking arm in arm. They had all kinds of rugs/​mats overlapping on the floor in the entrance. My father’s foot caught the edge of a mat that was curled up and with that he went down and so did my mom who was holding on to him. In fact, he fell on top of her leg. Just as I was able to get my dad up, a man walked in behind us. He was on his cell phone as so many people are today. He saw me trying to get my mom up off the floor, but continued his conversation — in the entrance where we were struggling. Only after he finished his call which went on for another 4 or 5 minutes, did he help us. Now, I’m not complaining about a good samaritan. I come to find out after we get inside, he is in management there. Meanwhile, while he is trying to help us, another manager comes out to help. We finally get my mom up. No one asked if we wanted medical attention or anything else, and I didn’t make a big deal. I wanted to go home, but the manager was insistent we come inside and said he had a table near the entrance. We went in and had lunch. Now, after being nice about everything and coming inside at his insistence, here is the kicker. They didn’t even offer us a dessert on the house. In my opinion, they could have picked up the $ 38 check as a gesture of good will — since we didn’t make a big deal. Another type of person, would have had an attorney there and a police/​medical accident report. And, by the way, when we left the restaurant, all the rugs/​mats were gone. This will not be our neighborhood diner anymore — yes, I said diner — because although you may want to call it a restaurant, it is in fact a diner!

Had my fiftieth bday party here and was a great time. Ned set everything up and it went over without a hitch. Menu was great, had our own bartender the cake was dynamite. We had indoor outdoor seating for atmosphere and for the smokers. Would definitely have another bash over there. Ask for Ned he’s the best!

The only thing that was good about this place was the décor and the waitress. The food was terrible and the prices were totally out of control. We won’t be going here ever again. And I’ve already told a bunch of people about my experience.

Nice area located by the mall. Right off the major highway. This place looks better than the original Z — One Restaurant on Richmond Ave. Lots of flat screen TV and a sport bar. Ordered few plate for that day. Service and food are great. I’d go back for another visit.

I’ve been there many times for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The food is pretty good and the ambiance is very nice. The service is also pretty good and have never had any issues. It’s basically a Diner on steroids. I will definitely continue going.

It beats Z One Lounge, but still.
I ordered a L.E.O. wrap (leo standing for lox, eggs, onion). However, the lox was not smoked salmon, but regularly cooked salmon. The eggs were pretty overdone, and the flavor overall was lacking.
Other than that, typical diner food.

Food is better than average and the service staff is very accomodating. We had an issue with the AC blowing on us and they promptly moved us to another table.

They advertise a special and then they tell you they cannot honor it. Management are liars. They treated me like a piece of crap. I will never eat there again.

The service wasn’t that bad but the food was terrible. Even after it was brought to the attention of the manager, nothing was done. The manager tasted the food and told us that’s what the food is supposed to taste like. I didn’t know that food was supposed to taste like frost bite. I was very disappointed in the lack of customer service.

Good place to come for a quick bite or for a more sit down dinner!
Really good drink selection and the staff is willing to make helpful suggestions. Also really good drink specials when it gets later at night for the younger crowd.
Happy to see this place is doing well because I loved their first location.

False advertisement. They advertise (on the tables) happy hour from 3 – 7 and then 10−2am. So when you ask for it, they tell you that it’s only when football is on and you’re in the bar. Well guess what? They put football on the TV’s in the dining area and not by the bar. They wouldn’t honor the happy hour $ 9 burger & beer. Total bullshit.

I came here recently once a few weeks ago on a double date. I just moved to S. I last summer so I am still getting to know my surroundings but I’ve been told many times that the south side of S. I is alot of racism. Anyway, I came here and i was very uncomfortable after sitting down with my group. People kept staring at us as if we were causing an inconvenience and the waitress was very rude and pushy.
Food: Overall, the food was good the fries were THE BEST but the service was a bit rushy. The stupid waitress kept coming up to my table asking if we wanting dessert and we had just begun eating our dinner. If it were 100% up to me the wrench would not have gotten a tip at all but my husband is too nice. She kept rolling her eyes and talking with an attitude. I almost wanted to ask her wth is your problem, dont u want a tip??? It felt like they wanted us out asap and the place was empty so it wasn’t like they needed more seating.
Interior: Beautiful layout, i love how nice it looked in there.
I heard that the z one is better so i will check that one out i just hope that the fries are just as good. I wont be coming back to z two because i think they wanted us out because we are not white considering the fact that the service seemed more pleasant with the other customers. If your white though then you just may okay.

The soup with sandwich specials are unbelievable, and more than enough food, at 2:30 pm I found the service to be great and everyone seems to care about customer satisfaction with the food and service. Yup, I’m a fan

Don’t come here late at night ! Horrible choice and the worst service ever ! So we wait 30 minutes for a waiter. People pass us by and then finally someone comes. We order and wait forever. Long story short we ordered a BACON DIJON BURGER. And it comes back with no bacon but huge slices of ham! Then when I complained they told me I’ll just get a side of bacon because you don’t want to send that back (obviously telling me by food with get spit in). Now when I took the disgusting ham off I had no cheese left on my burger! I can go on and on but seriously so mad at the way I was treated last night it’s like all the staff was drunk or something.

Don’t bother going on a Friday night, you will be forgotten at your table. Service is usually decent, but on this particular occasion, it is about 2am on a Friday night, our waiter took forever to take our order, then didn’t bring the coleslaw or pickle. One entrée came out a good ten minutes before mine did, did I mention I was starving? When it came, the food was good but they forgot my fries. Our waiter is MIA and we would like to get out of here at some point. It still remains to be seen if we will ever actually get out of here…
TIP at night the nightclub plays decent music but the patrons, UGH

This place is VERY racist. My friends and I went there on a Thursday and the bouncers told us that we might as well just turn back around because we’re not getting in. IF YOU ARE AFRICAN AMERICAN YOU ARE NOT WELCOMED THERE !!! SPREAD THE WORD

Their food was not that good, it had no flavor, but the drinks were okay. Good place to come and dance and meet other people.

One of the better diners on Staten Island, the food is usually tasty and their fries are so crispy ! They do great lunch and diner specials which are worth trying. You get a soup, entrée, desert and tea/​coffee, which is a great value. As far as deserts I’d steer clear from the pies. They are diabetically sweet and over filled. The monte carlo sandwich is the BOMB! Try it with a side of maple syrup, you will not be disappointed (you will feel like your having a heart attack, but it will be the best tasting heart attack ever (:)
As far as a «club» in a diner, that’s ridiculous.

Fanciest diner around! The food is great too! They also have a club attached in the diner. So you can go dancing and then have late night meal right after!

I just have to say I love this place ! I was so obsessed with z One for a while but it’s so small and the crowd was getting a little strange. There was even a stabbing there (yeh! Crazy). So You can imagine how excited that I was to hear that Z Two was being built and especially in my neighborhood !
It is an awesome place all around. Lounge and a diner. How can you beat that? They have recently built an outside beautiful deck area that is perfect for summers. There is also an outside area that is under a tent if you don’t want to sit outside in the sun, but still enjoy fresh air.
Me and my boyfriend always come here for dinner. The good is great and the last time we went we had a great, friendly waitress. She was extremely attentive. The fries are just the best. Drinks are always made well. The owner is so friendly remembers us from z One and always comes over to say hello. His partner is good friends with us as well. Always buying us drinks when we are there on the weekend during the lounge hours.
The nightlife is okay– it truly depends on the season, and day. While its cool out but not warm enough for the shore. This is where you will catch everyone.
I also had a birthday done here. They closed off the VIP part for me and offered $ 40 open bar from 11 – 2. I thought that was reasonable. But for the amount of people I had and amount of money they made, they should have threw in a free app for us or something especially for the birthday girl :) But other than that, we all had a good time. And you weren’t allowed up in my section without a wrist band.
Overall, good food, kid friendly (not during Lounge hours) beautiful inside as well as outside. I recommend for a spring date night. Sit outside !
