I guess the food was alright. Strange that after one plate i felt really full. Feels like they put something in their food to make you full faster but other than that it’s fine.

Food was good and I didn’t leave feeling nauseous. I had Lo Mein, Black Pepper Chicken, and rice. No complaints!

We are actually here right now and I’m wishing I had read these reviews before sitting down. I actually upgraded from 1 star to 2 stars because the server actually began acting like a server. I know its a buffet«but please don’t make me curse». Since when does talking fast, moving fast and nodding your head, you guessed it, really really fast have anything to do with SERVICE or FOOD? Read the other reviews if you want to know about the crappy food. It’s almost like they are doing you a favor by taking your money. I think the server only began to serve because she looked over my shoulder and saw me on Unilocal.Don’t know for sure but that’s when things changed. Stay away from this place.

Avoid if you don’t want to feel nauseous… yes there’s a lot of variety but stay away from the risky stuff like sushi at a place like this. Wouldn’t come back.

I’ve been to many buffets in my day but this one ranks as one of the worst. I should have listened to most of the reviews on Unilocal.Just not good, plain and simple.

I will admit I have left hear feeling kinda sick before, but no matter what, I just keep on coming back for more. The food is freaking delicious, the wait staff frequently checks on the status of the customer, asking to refill drinks. There is a bar for people who want to drink, but from my experience it isn’t very lively. Overall, I’d say its a solid restaurant.

Nothing special — food is good, nice variety. Atmosphere is ok but you don’t go there for this.

Came here with wife and daughter and was not impressed. Selection is minimal compared to other buffets for the price. The food was cold and not very good in general. Thought we would give the place a shot but would never return. Not sure how this place can operate with the low quality of food. SKIPIT!

3.5 stars, which I round to 4. You get what you pay for. I was pretty hesitant to come here with my coworkers when I saw Unilocal reviews. Then I remembered… Unilocal reviewers tend to not know how to rate ethnic food. Often they complain that something is ‘gross’ or ‘low quality,’ which are complaints that don’t really make a lot of sense when you’re eating at a SUPERCHEAP place. Or sometimes they complain about how something tastes — when a place is authentic and they don’t happen to know what something is supposed to taste like.(FYI, lots of Asian dishes use weird ingredients like fish sauce or shrimp paste or galangal or lemongrass or what have you. If you don’t know what those ingredients are supposed to taste like, you might be in for a shock). Or conversely … sometimes they expect a place to be authentic(even though the place doesn’t really advertise itself as such) and then put horrible reviews. BTW. Americanized Chinese food is basically fried American foods doused in basic Chinese sauces, which tend to be toned down in flavor or spice. This place is an American Chinese food restaurant with a selection of dim sum. Keep in mind that MOST Chinese restaurants in the US are American Chinese restaurants. Kinda like MOST Italian restaurants in the US are not really Italian. You can’t come to Kings and expect authentic Chinese food, on par in quality with a good restaurant in China. They don’t advertise that they’re authentic, so to expect them to be authentic is just madness. Anywho… A lunch buffet at Kings is less than $ 9 including tax, and the buffet is humongous. For that price, which also includes hot tea, you really can’t complain. Here’s a sampling of the kind of stuff they have: — your normal Chinese restaurant soups like egg drop, wonton, etc — all sorts of veges(like sauteed bok choy and broccoli) — some dim sum, like sesame balls, shu mai, and dumplings — all sorts of fried pork and chicken — egg rolls — dishes like mussels and clams, fish, general tso’s chicken, something that looked like popcorn shrimp etc — a variety of fried rices — a bunch of different kinds of desserts like pudding and fruit — sushi — hot tea included The popcorn shrimp was decent, as well as the vegetables, the shu mai, and the sesame balls. The egg drop soup was fine. I thought the quality of the food is on par with your normal cheap Chinese restaurant. Or actually better. I’ve had worse dim sum at supposedly good and authentic restaurants. The difference here is that it’s all you can eat. So when you consider the price, it’s actually a good value. I only ate one gross thing and that was the clams — they were gritty and some of the shells were cracked, though the actual flavor wasn’t bad. Again, I can’t complain … $ 9 for a buffet lunch with seafood is a bit suspicious. The service wasn’t bad either — they were pretty quick at bussing tables and bringing out drinks and refills. Personally though, I’d rather pay a few dollars more and get better food. but since a buffet like that doesn’t exist anywhere around here, I’d have to be fine with this place.

Thus is the only chinese buffet in the area so its pretty cool. Its its own lil melting pot of cultures coming together for the tastey goodness of the chinese cuisine. I bring some members of my family here atleast once a week. The staff is friendly and het friendlier with each visit. :-)

I have been to this place for around 6 years now. It seems like every single day the food gets badder and badder. Now I don’t even go there any more unlike when I use to every week. Food is honestly disgusting. Bathrooms are dirty as hell. Maybe invest some money and remodel the place a little bit

Same fare as my previous visits. This time no clams in black bean sauce :(. Other than that, it’s just your typical Americanized Chinese buffet. Not great, but not bad.

Try lunch today, this is a very decent, average and small Chinese buffet restaurant. Lunch price is $ 8.49 hot tea included, in my opinion for the food they offer this is overpriced, why? they only have three buffet tables, take out one for salad bar, fruits and deserts, take out half for soup and steam food(I am Chinese, I don’t even know what’s that), the only hot food probably one and half table, really count probably less than 24 dishes, today, they offer three kind of broccoli dishes, you can count how much beef in the broccoli beef, string beam and mustard green. shrimp meat ball? there is no shrimp nor meat, it tasted like tofu, vegetable stir fry noodle and two kind of vegetable stir fry rice, vegetable stir fry rice noodle, vegetable spring roll. about ten entry for vegetarian. when I walked in, the host staff ask me do I want to sit on bar where there are still plenty empty table available, is it strange? The service is typical Chinese buffet service, the wait staff only remove your dirty dishes, who will never refill your drink automatically, or come to your table to find out if you need anything else.

The quality and selection has been updated over the last few months, definitely since my 2013 review. We eat here every 1 – 2 weeks and have enjoyed it much more. Was there the other night and they brought out an Italian Sausage Wheel that turned out to be real moist and tasty. Had Italian Sausage and Dim Sum; great combo :) Again, not a San Francisco quality place and there are better sit down Chinese places in the area BUT I believe this is a solid Chinese buffet for the area and well worth you giving them a try Its best to come NLT6PM with 5PM being optimal as it tends to get crowded. Now crowded is not take bad as it brings out fresh food more often.

The service was good but that’s about where it stops. The overall atmosphere was dirty, unorganized, and plus the lighting was extremely dim. Food was mediocre, selection was minimal, and the overall restaurant just isn’t that great. Not impressive at all.

Terrible! Waaaaayyyy too salty. Unimpressed overall. To make matters worse, when I took my bill to the front, the girl asked how everything was. I told her we weren’t happy with the quality of the food, especially for the price. She said«sorry.» That’s it. No offer to make anything better, or discount my ticket. Nothing. So, I asked her if it is normal practice to offer no more than an apology to disappointed customers. She said the manager left, so there’s nothing she can do. Wow. Crappy food AND crappy service? Won’t be visiting again!

Not a bad price per person and a decent selection of items. The food is average which was expected. There was no wait for a table. Service was good and the place was clean. The only big minus was the dessert selection. Not a bad choice if you have a group and don’t want to spend a lot.

Hey $ 11 a person… sure why not. I come here whenever I crave my Chinese food fix. Now keep in mind, for them to dish out sooo much food, they’ve developed a easy alteration based seasoning. What this means is, the food tends to start tasting the same after a few dishes. You start ignoring your taste buds to judge the quality of the food, but rather use a visual and audible approach for results. Service is great. A little too great. I tend to go during the evening hours in hopes of getting a taste of every item they have to offer. Around this time, this place has quite a few patrons dinning in. The servers seem to transform into a hawk like presence. They beam every so cautiously at you for an opportunity to clear a dish, refill a drink, help usher you out with your bill so the next person can be seated. I don’t know, maybe its just me. I leave with a bit of a chill down my spine at the end of my service. I always look cautiously over my shoulder as I head to my car in the parking lot to see if they’re peering through the window or behind a statue at me.

This place is more like a 2.5 star rating. Initially this Chinese buffet was the go to spot for my wife and I. However, it seems as though the quality of food of this place hasn’t gotten much better since we first started coming. They are pretty good at keeping the buffet area stocked, but the taste of the food isn’t always the best so at times you are forced to get something else or wait for a new batch, which may not taste that much better. There do have some food items that I enjoy alot, and are my go to items when I go. But for some reason they can’t seem to keep the taste of the food consistent between batches. Some batches taste better. Not sure why that is though.(:-/) Also there desserts aren’t that great either I typically just stick to their vanilla ice cream which I do feel is pretty good. This place is no longer our goto place when it comes to chinese buffets, it’s more of a last resort for us. Will we ever come back to this place you might ask? And my response might be, sure if nothing else is open.

Price? For $ 11-somethingish per person for a buffet dinner on a weekend, hard to top. In terms of quality, very easy to top. There are 3 stations of food and 2 rows of food per station. However, even though there are 6 rows of food in total, I would say only 4 or so «count» b/c the last 2 rows are fruits and desserts. In terms of entrees, there’s a range of americanized Chinese food like general tsao’s chicken and some straight-up American food like mac & cheese. There are a few selections of soups like hot and sour soup, and some Chinese dim sum selections. There is some seafood selection. Don’t expect crab or lobster, but you’ll find crayfish, clams, raw oysters, and some deep fried shrimp, amongst others. At nicer buffets, spills along the countertop are quickly wiped up by the staff. Not so here. The spills near the soups stayed there all evening. Some of the dishes looked more freshly made. Others, like the chow mein and even the mac and cheese, looked like they’ve been sitting sadly in their respective spaces for a while. There is one small dish of sushi, and it’s mainly avocado rolls. There is no sushi chef, no teppenyaki grill where you pick from a selection of raw meat/veggies and have it cooked behind the counter, no phở or soup noodles. The restrooms were somewhat clean… I spotted a dirty diaper on the ground in the stall but at least it was… wrapped up? There was toilet paper and paper towels, I’ll grant you. The food wasn’t particularly bad but it wasn’t something I’d come back for either. Don’t expect top quality here. Rather, come here if your main factors are a location close to you or the price.
