International House of Pancakes

What can I say? It’s the neighborhood breakfast joint for a quick standard egg/​pancake breakfast. My review is not about the food but rather the waitress! My pet peeve when going to a restaurant, is that the server please refer to each party seated. At this visit on a Sunday morning on 3/​13, I sat with my BF. The waitress Belen… never looked or acknowledged me!!! Too busy looking at my BF. Seriously, this happens alot! Even when I placed my order. Don’t understand why some waitresses do this… so rude

The food was good and service was good. The kids loved that they had a balloon animal artist.

Meal was great, waiter was helpful. BUT there were three of us eating and the waiter just brought the check all on one tab. We brought it up to the cashier who was a bald man who had an accent and seemed like the boss. He was very rude and said we should have told the waiter to split it. We said he just brought it to us and he replied «he cant read your minds». Every other place would not blame the customer and complain about splitting a check.

Good service, the Philly Chesse stake was dry. To the manager on duty about it, he blow me off.

This is my go-​to place when traveling form Bako to LAX or anywhere south of home. I like the relaxed atmosphere; even when they’re busy, they smile, and I have never felt rushed. The food is standard IHOP, but I find that delicious! I had crepes stuffed with ham & cheese, and covered in cheese sauce, and it was really good! I would definitely order this again.
There was a fellow eating alone at the table next to me, conducting business on his cell phone rather loudly as he ate. That was kinda annoying.

If it had the option to give this place zero stars I would.
The food was burnt and the waitress was very rude about it. She brought what seemed to the same food just tossed around. It was very unpleasant. The whole staff in general is very rude and management doesn’t care enough to make it better. If you want to have okay ish breakfast with terrible service this is the place you want to come to. I will never return to this location.

I am on a work road trip, left LA early to get over the traffic hump. I haven’t been to an IHop in, I don’t know how long, but today was the day I revisited.
Easy find right off the 5, IHop is next to an El Pollo Loco. It is a friday morning, so parking was easy. Seems to be a big parking area, but I imagine it gets packed on the weekends.
I loved the window paint! Happy Harvest!
Claudia was my server on this beautiful autumn morning. She was very sweet, friendly, attentive, & efficent. Her section filled up all at once & she didn’t even flinch. She smiled at every guest.
I ended up getting the special, Pumpkin Waffle & fried chicken. It comes w/​your choice of soup or salad. I opted for a salad. It was fresh and ice cold. Mixed greens served with chopped tomatoes & 2 freshly cut red onion. Great start to my meal. When my entrée arrived, the waffle was topped with candied pecans, & served w/​warm butter pecan syrup. Honestly, it was so good. I asked for a side of the icing they put on the red velvet pancakes (I read it on the menu) & Claudia was so quick to grab it for me. That icing made the waffle; it kind of made it taste like a warm pumpkin muffin. I also dipped the waffle & chicken together into the warm butter pecan syrup. That was really tasty. The syrup is very rich, so alone, on the waffle, I thought it was too much, but together with the chicken, was exactly what I wanted.
Very clean, and not sticky, like a lot of pancake houses are.
I give 5 stars for all around great, quick and friendly service. Cleanliness. Food was hot and delicious. Keep up the good work staff! When I am in the area again, I will stop in for sure!

Order a spicy ranch sandwich and had a hair on it gross plus my utensils were dirty and cups smelled like raw egg disgusting! Definitely I would give it a zero star if I could! Other than that the server was friendly.

IHOP! I will go ahead and give you 5 stars, high five! I went to IHOP for Father’s Day because my dad loves this place. I honestly hadn’t been to IHOP in like 10 years or so. I wasn’t expecting much from this place but I was really impressed! We had a party of 6, and were seated pretty quickly considering it was Father’s Day. The service was great, and everyone had a wonderful time, especially my dad. The waitress was fantastic, and really patient with everyone and she got everyone’s order correct! She was on point! Now to the food… I wasn’t sure what to expect but to my surprise it was pretty yummy! I ordered the bacon (egg white) omelet and added some onions and mushrooms to it. If you are ever hungover at IHOP… get this lol. I got a side of hash browns and everyone was picking at it.
My dad is a very picky eater… and he was impressed. Not one complaint… and that my friends deserves 5 stars!

we arrived at IHOP and got seated right away the service was exceptional that’s for the 2 stars when we received our food my boyfriend had a ROACH crawling around the food on his plate.
it was very gross the waitress asked if everything was OK she. she gave us the food we had to literly show her what was on the plate she asked us if we wanted something else or a new one we said a new one was fine she was very polite about the whole situation she took the plate straight back to the kitchen I overheard her telling the cooks about the problem yelling at them.
She brought him new food and said she would take the item off the bill
Overall I have always come to this location and never had issues like this before I don’t know when we will be back my boyfriend said he sees Denny’s in the near future.

Solid, standard IHOP fare. Soft pancakes, tender hash browns, but hard bacon strips, salty ham, and saltier sausages. We do low sodium at home.
But we were impressed with the service. It was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Our water glasses were regularly checked. The juice was good and the caraffes of hot water was a nice presentation.
As time drew closer to their closing time, we never felt rushed one bit. Night Manager, Mr. Amnon, stopped by our table, answered questions, and then to ask if everything was satisfactory. Mr. Amnon, I apologize, sir, as I’m sure I’ve mutilated your name, having lost the slip of paper that you wrote down your name on.
The service was outstanding, especially for a chain family restaurant. What a great way to conclude a road trip.

didn’t care for the crêpe with butter cream drizzled with raspberries syrup. It had way to much cream fillings and they left out the whip cream. Is it me or the pictures on the menu look nothing like what’s presented to me. So very disappointed!

We’ve been to various IHOP locations in recent years and we look forward to the consistency of the brand. Unfortunately this visit was very busy and that left the waitstaff over-​committed. We waited awhile to get someone’s attention for a coffee refill and the meals didn’t arrive together. We still enjoyed ourselves and the food was fine, but it wasn’t anything special. Still an easy and affordable brunch that we’d go back for if in the area again.

Just our go-​to place when we want a quick, inexpensive meal. We’re fans of breakfast for dinner, but i noticed this last time that their menu seems to have shrunk quite a bit to MOSTLY breakfast items. When did that happen?

This was the most disgusting meal since, well the last time I was here almost a year ago. How did I not learn the first time.
Every item of food was swimming in lard, grease, butter, and liquid cheese like substance. Omelette was just pathetic, grease just oozing out of every opening. Same with the meal my son had. Hash browns were done on the outside, gel-​like on the inside. I simply could not identify the ingredients liquefying out from the omelette.
And for $ 11+ each entrée, makes me sick to think I passed up Egg Plantation, or even Denny’s for that matter. Last time here, the pancakes, swimming with butter, were total liquid on the inside.
The only reason this gets even one star is that I supposed it IS food, barely. If I were starving to death I would rather try my chances with grass and left over dumpster food.

I know I should not expect much, but considering the surrounding breakfast spot reviews, I thought perhaps it would be bearable. Tepid, dirty tasting coffee, more high fructose corn syrup than anyone should have. The entire breakfast plate & food was cold & tasteless, until I had a bite of egg that was nothing but salt. That was the end of it. As I was walking out to pay, I took another look at the patrons & employees. Everyone was unhappy, looked sick & had horrible skin. Don’t pollute your body. Go to a grocery store & bag a salad instead. I learned my lesson. Hope I don’t get sick.

For a weekend drive that we too to L. A we left early enough that when we got hungry our belly’s were telling us to stop here.
Yes it was a Saturday morning and the parking lot was packed but the staff has this traffic flow down. The service to seat you was pretty fast and as soon as the tables are vacated the busboys clear that table and call the next party.
There is a balloon dude that knows how to keep you entertained while you are here. It sure kept Baby Sara and Sofia busy and he is a very cool cat as well.
The food here is pretty good and I really cannot complain about the food here or the taste of it since of course IHOP food is IHOP food.
Next time we are driving bye here and get a bit hungry we may stop bye again.

Ok, most of us who have been to an IHOP know the food is almost always pretty good. Such was the case with this visit.
However, this three star rating is for the state in which the establishment is in.
Clearly the building is not an original IHOP. There is wallpaper coming off the walls, the men’s restroom was a bit dingy, and overall, it just feels like it is missing some TLC.
I know IHOP is mostly franchised but the standard needs to be upheld across the chain.

I love I HOP, but just not this one. The waiter Elbert, was very attentive, but he brought me coffee that had stickiness all over the cup. Now He took it back but washed it off while the coffee was still inside. So the germs were still all over it. Although this one is famous for bringing cups of coffee with peoples lipstick on the outside of it. They do not wash their cups. Grrr. Then I asked for eggs over easy but not too runny. He brought me eggs that were never cooked. You know when you crack an egg and you have that runny snot looking substance that comes out of it? Well thats what was put on my plate. It was Salmonella the way. The floor was dirty and the tables. The health department needs to check this place out. I give it an F-.

Stopped here for lunch while driving from L. A to Sac with the family. We were seated right away. Menus had more lunch choices than other Ihop’s where we are from. Our server was very nice and the restaurant was clean. We ordered 2 Fried chicken dinner meals, 1 Fish sandwich with fries, one of their crepes, and i forgot what my mom ordered but everything was good and the servings were big. The fish sandwich was big and filled me up. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked properly. When I was paying, the manager asked me how everything was and if everything was to my expectations. Not many restaurant managers still care about their customers like this one. Overall had a good experience at this Ihop.
