Ain’t nobody got no business ordering sandwiches here. The teacakes and cake balls are so delicious, but don’t waste your time or money on the sandwiches. I paid $ 6.99 for the worst chicken salad sandwich I’ve ever had. They couldn’t even bother to put a piece of lettuce on the bread, so it was soaking wet. My sister came with me and got a turkey and cheese sandwich, so we ended up paying another $ 6.99 for 2 pieces of turkey and 1 piece of American cheese that didn’t even cover the sandwich. The sandwiches are pathetic. But I’ve gotta give 4 stars because I absolutely love the teacakes and cake balls. The tea itself is average and over priced but what can you expect. The decorations are cute for a tea party place, but we received our tea in paper cups and had to ask for real tea cups. It’s the little things that matter! All in all, if you are looking to have a tea party but not get full and have a meal, then I highly recommend. Just eat before or after you come.

Dipped chocolate teacake was good but we asked for two iced coffees and she didn’t know how to make them. We ended up paying for two cups of sweetened iced milk. They are only getting two stars because the teacake was good. Don’t come here for coffee.

I was looking for somewhere to grab a cup of tea with a friend while we were waiting for her pup to have some testing done at Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists. We found this place on Unilocal. There were some good things about the interior and some bad things. The overall ordering and display areas were appealing, but the sitting area could use an overhaul. Nothing said«Come sit, sip some tea, stay awhile» to me. It seemed a bit sterile. The young lady wasn’t very well trained, but as a manager I could tell this wasn’t her fault. She was eager, but had no guidance from the owner. She had trouble answering questions about the tea offered and explained what things were. She offered us a sample of the teacake since I had never had one before. It was just OK to me. Upon checkout she was also having some difficulties with the register. The owner came out to help her and it just seemed really awkward the way she was speaking to her. Nothing there really called to me as a potential spot to grab tea and hang out to do some work or have a conversation with someone. I couldn’t tell if they were trying to be a pastry shop or a place to come have tea. I just left perplexed and without the feeling of wanting to come back

I picked up a dozen teacakes this afternoon for a work event, and they were all a hit! I especially loved the cranberry orange — not overly iced or sweet. Will definitely be back to try out the other goodies. There are also several tables and couches so you can enjoy a teacake with friends.

I had the worst birthday cake experience here! We ordered a two tier cake for my daughter’s special 16th birthday. When we went to pick up the cake, it was NOT what we requested/ordered and paid for. We complained to the worker that the cake was too small for our party size and it’s not what we ordered. In addition, we requested my daughter’s first name initial on the top tier and it was missing. The worker called the owner, but the owner didn’t pick up her phone rather she texted back stating she couldn’t talk. How unprofessional is that? Instead her husband called few minutes later and told the worker they would issue me a refund for the mistakes. I wasn’t expecting a whole refund, but at least compensate me for the over charge and mistake made on the design. I didn’t have much choice but to take the cake presented as guests were waiting on us and my daughter would be so sad, if I showed up without a cake on her Sweet 16th birthday party. So, I waited until late afternoon the following day to hear back from the owners. Of course nothing, no call, and no refund. I tempted to call the owner Sumana again. She didn’t answer, no surprise to me by now! I left a message on her voicemail. We even drove to the business to see if she was there and she wasn’t. The worker there told us she’s better at answering text messages. So I texted Sumana and she finally replied stating she will call me shortly. Well guess what, she never called me! This whole experience was so disappointing and aggravating that I will never spend my money at this business ever again.

I haven’t actually been to this store but a friend got me the strawberry cookie cake thingy and I believe a vanilla cupcake. Can we say delish??? So good im so planning a trip out to the store and buying more! Great treat for kids ! The cupcake was SUPER moist and the icing was more of a frosting type texture which I like my cupcakes with more creamy butter cream type of icing. But the cake made up for that. I also loved loved the cookie cake!!! That’s perfect for kids rather than the cupcake bc it doesn’t leave as much a mess. I want to try more flavors!!!

I’ve been here several times and more often than not the teacakes I’ve bought have bn old, stale, and/or hard. Ive even asked for fresh ones and the young girl at the counter went to the back to get fresh ones and guess what… CRUNCHYHARDTEACAKES!!! didn’t know until I got home and I live too far to return them. I will not be going back ever.

I like this place. I have been periodically visiting this place for about two months now. Whenever I would be in the area, I would often see the establishment but never thought to go inside to check them out. Im glad I finally did! It’s located right across the street from Cheesecake Factory–(no relation) and the establish has a really cutesy quaint atmosphere. There is tables with teapots on top of them. It’s virtually pretty empty whenever I visit. Most people just make their purchases and leave-from what I experienced. So if you are the type of person that enjoys a lively atmosphere– you probably will be disappointed. Now the Teacakes!!! I will have to agree with a few other Unilocalers. On my first visit I definitely was confused about the plastic wrap that covered the trays. It does make you feel as though the Teacakes are being«reused» in a sense. Let’s just hope that they are instead wrapped in plastic wrap to stay«fresh». They have a wide array of flavors. My favorite are the strawberry and lemon Teacakes. In addition to the aforementioned Teacakes, they offer cupcakes, cake pops, custom cakes, and they serve drinks and beverages. I tried the hot cocoa once. It was pretty good. But you can’t really mess up on hot cocoa. If you purchase the Teacakes-ask the associate to warm it up for a few seconds. You will thank me later! The associates and the people that work there are really friendly. The very first time I visited, the manager was really pushy on trying to get me to purchase a dozen Teacakes. What do I look like purchasing that much Teacakes when I wouldn’t have no one to share them with? Lol. However, It wasn’t a damaging event and I actually thought it was pretty funny. The Teacakes are about 2 bucks-which in my mind are a bit steep. Those bills have to be paid somehow, I guess… It’s fine. I just set aside my Teacake money every month. Oh yeah… Free wifi.

Best word to describe these teacakes: Yummy! They are totally worth trying. The taste of the different flavors is amazing. You receive a discount if you buy them by the ½ or whole dozen. If you buy a dozen be prepared to eat them within a few days so that you do not have to toss them. Can be considered pricy but it is definitely worth trying.

Lots of variety here! The teacakes were delicious(plain & lemon)! I think this establishment is relatively new, so maybe give them a little time to fill that empty space and develop a workflow. Our service was kind and prompt. We sat outside. It was lovely.

Checked it out once. Large empty place. Many variety. I tried tea cakes red velvet, lemon, chocolate, and cranberry orange. They were tasty but nothing special. Tasted like cake. Didn’t stay fresh long(I nibbled on them for a couple of days) and I had to throw some bites away. Mine wasn’t Saran wrapped when I bought them! Haven’t been back.

Not sure what the deal is with the Plastic Saran Wrap. Is that how teacake are supposed to be stored? It just gave me the impression that it’s not baked fresh and it’s stored over night to be resold again the next day. I tried the lemon and the white chocolate macadamia and it was ok. Gotta try other flavors and the cupcakes may those would be better.

I love my cakes but unfortunately this place does not cut it. There is nothing warm or personable about the place, especially when everything on display was wrapped in saran wrap. It gave the atmosphere a rather eerie feel. I split the Snickerdoodle teacake with a friend and others in my group went for the macaroons. The teacake was only okay while the macaroons were too sweet to even finish. There are too many other dessert places in the area to compete for my sweet tooth.

Cash only! This review is only about their cupcakes. I came by because my friend was craving cupcakes and we were in the area. Walking in, the whole place was empty and it was strange to me that they wrapped everything in their display in plastic wrap. Is that proof that their items aren’t fresh? I got the Belgium chocolate cupcake, and my friend got the Italian Cream. They were both $ 3. The frosting on the cupcake was hardened, and wasn’t fresh. The actual cake was extremely dry, and definitely tasted like it had been sitting out for a while. I couldn’t even finish it because it had such a strong stale taste. I won’t be back. There are lots of spots with better products, and nothing was labeled with prices in the display cases, which bothered me a lot. Nice employee, but not anything special.

I came here for dessert after I had dinner. When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was their HUGE selection of teacakes ranging from good olé fashioned Southern tea cakes to orange cranberry teacakes. If you have a flavor in mind, they probably have it. If you don’t want any teacakes, there are juices, smoothies, cupcakes(I loved their red velvet ones), macaroons for the hipsters, cookies, and other diabetically awesome sweets. Since it’s in First Colony mall, expect somewhat expensive prices. If you’re strapped for cash, it’s better to go to Mimi’s Café and get you a pack of teacakes. They may not be snickerdoodle or chocolate teacakes but they’re yummy and cheap!

Well, I had never had a teacake before, but when I walked in they sure looked yummy. The friendly staff explained the history of teacakes, how they were made, and the most popular flavors. We even got a nice sample. I was not disappointed! I am a purist, so I stuck with the plain/vanilla teacake. My daughter tried the lemon teackae Moist, flaky, flavorful, and filling! We also each got a coffee drink which was expertly made and a great value for the price. We liked the place so much that we went back the next day and got several different flavors to take home along with the harvest cake. Everything was delicious.

We ordered a cake here for an event we were hosting a while back. We impulsively decided to check this place out and felt very welcomed by the owner. I forget her name but I know it started with an S. She was very open to taking our designs into consideration and even showed us pictures of popular cake designs offered at Tea Cake Factory. She was very friendly and sweet and worked in our price range, which was very appreciated. We tasted a few cakes and ended up picking their vanilla eggless cake. It is out of this world! You wouldn’t expect an eggless cake to taste THAT good. The cake was delivered right on time and looked flawless. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how much they loved the cake! We are so happy we impulsively walked in one day and ended up ordering with them. They even do wedding cakes for all of you bride to be’s out there!

Its unfortunate to see such terrible reviews for Teacake Factory. I believe most people are not familiar with the concept of teacakes, so they can only make negative remarks about them. These southern style teacakes are moist, flavourful, and tasty. All of the flavours have a distinct taste, and they contain fresh ingredients. I don’t understand how people can complain about the price of a teacake. It is only two dollars, and it is made from expensive ingredients such as fruits and nuts. I believe these sweet treats are a great price. They are big and it makes it easy to share them with others. I have also tried their cake, cupcakes, and sandwiches The cupcakes are too sweet for my liking, but their nutty delight cake is fantastic. When you bite into the cake, you can taste the fresh ingredients, such as the naturally whipped cream. The chicken kebab sandwiches are spicy and exotic. Its a unique twist that tantalizes your taste buds. Overall, I have had several nice experiences at Teacake factory. The owners are friendly, and they let you sample any of their teacakes. These simple and sweet treats are what keep me coming back for more.

I’m just not getting the love for this place. I read Baldwin’s review and was excited to try a new place in Sugar Land. I headed over after lunch today, Sunday, and wondered if the place was even open. The lights were off and it looked closed because no one was behind the counter, but according to their website they were open. We walked in and looked at the cookies, cupcakes, and tea cakes they had displayed and then eventually someone came out from the back. The girl who served us was very knowledgeable and nice. She offered us a taste of whatever tea cake we’d like. We tried the lemon and the chocolate chip. The tea cakes are large soft cookies that have a light sugar poured icing on them. They were just ok, but we thought we’d give them a chance. We got three tea cakes($ 2 a piece) to go. We got chocolate chip, orange cranberry, and strawberry. We tried them all when we got home and they were all just so-so. There was nothing there to make me want to go back. They weren’t many chocolate chips in the chocolate chip tea cake. The strawberry one was a little dry. Overall, they are relatively boring and bland large soft cookies. We also got 2 cupcakes to go. They are $ 3.29 a piece, which I think is pricey especially for their small size. I LOVE cupcakes and have been to cupcake places all over Houston. These cupcakes are much smaller than other places and the same price or more expensive. We got the banana split cupcake which was not good; it was small and the icing was just pure sugar with very little flavor. I was surprised at how tiny the cupcakes were. We also got the Reese’s cup cake which wasn’t very good either. The cupcake was ½ cake and ½ frosting. The cake part was tiny and the frosting was just too much. It was a very plain boring chocolate cupcake with tons of peanut butter frosting on top. As I mentioned before, I love cupcakes, but this one was pretty awful. Would I go back? No. But, honestly, with their semi-hidden location I don’t expect them to be around that long.
