Gigi’s Cupcakes of Sugarland

In my opinion, i think their cupcake and cheesecake selections are too sweet for my taste. They have A LOT of icing on top, which takes away the flavor and enjoyment of the dessert (it takes me 4 hours to finish a cupcake cause its too sweet!!) Even their «dark chocolate» selections are super sweet. As for the cheesecake, it straight out tastes like fudge to me. It doesn’t have the texture of a cheesecake at all! Honestly, it tasted like I was eating frozen flavored condense milk…
The service was okay, though i wished the person would have been a little more helpful. There was a limited amount of cupcakes left, so i wished he would have recommended me something, instead of waiting for me to decide what to get (i’m terrible at making decisions on what to eat…)
Don’t know if i’ll be coming back… Maybe if i wanted to try a different cupcake, but definitely not getting the cheesecake anymore…

Our new go-​to cupcake place. I like how their menu changes month-​to-​month. Right now my favorite is the carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. And seems to be most everyone else’s, as it took three visits to finally be able to get one to try. Well worth the extra effort to stop by and look for it (Red Velvet and Wedding Cake are yummy consolation prizes). Surprisingly according to My Fitness Pal, the Carrot Cake cupcake only has 216 calories, 9g fat, 32g carbs. An occasional not-​so-​bad-​really indulgence. They also have gluten-​free and sugar-​free cupcakes this month. The owners are super nice, and seem to have cupcakes baking continuously. It is a very pleasant treat to stop by.

Another cupcake place under my belt! There are a lot of yummy cupcakes out there and this one is just as good if not better. To begin with, the frosting consistency has been my favorite so far. I don’t like loose frosting nor too firm. This one is just right. The cake part is also of good consistency. It is fluffy and cakey, just like it should be. A lot of places out there have innovative ways of creating the batter but it just does not translate onto the plate. This place has definitely improved since it opened! There are lots of flavors to choose from but for me vanilla with buttercream frosting will always be my top choice.

I was craving something sweet… mmm a cupcake would sound good. I wanted to get something before my class at UHS and thought since Gigi’s was nearby, why the heck not?
I came in and was already blasted with the sweet aroma of fresh baked gingerbread cupcakes. The lady was helping another customer when I got in so of course I didn’t get acknowledged right away.
Gigi is known for their towering unique heavy cream toppings. It’s their signature look you can say. Coerced by the smell of gingerbread I decided on the gingerbread cupcake which is topped with a gingerbread man cookie on top of the cream cheese icing.
The lady was super friendly and helpful and told me that she was baking more gingerbread cupcakes and that’s what sweet aroma I was smelling. So I was pretty stoked to try it! Sadly, the gingerbread man cookie was stale. Okay moving onto the main part, the cream cheese ai must say was delicious but the cupcake was dry. It was pretty disappointing. I wanted to like it and enjoy it but I ended up throwing half of it away. I think Celebrity’s cupcakes are still my favorite so far.

I’m not a fan of the cupcakes, but the candles are amazing!!! I just go there for those.

Last nignt I was craving cake, I could hardly stand it!!! I Unilocaled and decided to go to GiGi’s cupcakes, which I was excited about because my dog’s name is GiGi hah!
The restaurant is cute with small tables and cupcakes right on display as you open the door. I originally came for a cc cookie dough cupcake, but decided on wedding cake. The cupcake was okay, but I felt like it was unnecessary waste of calories. It was very, very sweet and the cupcake didn’t have that lovely vanillay/​almondey flavor, while the cake wasn’t very moist. I left disappointed and I’m still on the search for a good cupcake!

I’ve seen some negative reviews for Gigi’s but I’ve never had a problem! Their cupcakes are super cute and always good. There’s a small overload of frosting, but not enough to lower the rating.

Some say their cupcake is too sweet, but for my taste its good. Also the price is about right. You can also order mini cup cake if you don’t like the regular one, good for birthday for your kids in school to share.
Their service is very nice, not sure to others, but for me she treated me nicely. They also do a gift box for the cake.

I used to come to this location a lot and it used to be good!!! Great cupcakes but the past 2 times I’ve been here have been horrible!!! Dry cupcakes and lots of unnecessary sprinkles and crunchy stuff!!! Customer service is so so… I don’t know what has happened in the past year but this new formula isn’t working and I could see this location going out of business very soon if they don’t step it back up. I will continue to go to the galleria/​post oak ln location. Their cupcakes taste better and the ladies there are extremely helpful!

Cupcakes had too much frosting and were very dry. Plus, the lady behind the counter touched her hair multiple times before getting the cup cake!

GiGi’s, hands down, is my favorite cupcake in Sugar Land; they’re beautifully decorated, not overly sweet, and are always the headliner at parties and get– togethers. Inside, they have a table and stools to sit at if you want to come and enjoy a cupcake after dinner, just don’t forget to take a few home with you!
For birthdays, more and more, I hear people say, «just give me a small piece of cake (weird but true… who doesn’t like cake?!),» which makes the dozen smaller cupcakes perfect. So now I love just purchase the mini sized cupcakes and a regular sized cupcake for the guest of honor. Its perfect for restaurant parties, because people just take want they like. Oftentimes they’re eaten up, because they’re just that dang good, so there’s no mess to contend with after the party is over. Plus, how much can you do with a cake? With these cupcakes, you can choose which variety cupcakes you want to have, (just call in advance and note that they will only bake those flavors that are available that day).
My most favorite cupcake to give a Gigi’s first-​timer is the Champagne (contains no alcohol). To the eye they look like an ordinary cupcake, but once it hits your taste buds is a magical surprise. The cake melts in your mouth, and the cream cheese frosting is subtly sweet with the flavor of cream cheese… perfection. My personal favorite is the Princess, because its so girly and pretty (really), and it tastes like Strawberries in the summertime.

Omg we go here all the time and we are not from in town. I just had the candy bar crunch and it was beyond AMAZING! My daughter is eating hers now and and loving it. Will continue to go here.

I wanted to love it, but the cupcakes I had were on the dry side, and not moist and flavorful. Who isn’t seeking moist and flavorful? My daughter had candy crush and cookie dough cupcakes, and she really liked hers. But perhaps her palette is not quite as sophisticated yet. The cupcakes were beautiful and the lady doling out the cupcakes was friendly. The price was $ 36/​dozen. One, two, cha cha cha. Please send me a referral to a moist, flavorful cupcake joint locally.

Today we had a girl leaving for a new career we weren’t sure of her exact leaving day. At Noon we last minute went to Gigs and they had fresh dozen available. It was in a beautiful box and they all tasted delicious! Beautifully done! We will return!

Cupcakes have great flavor but way too much icing for our tastes. Always end up scraping half of it off.

Cupcakes are pretty average. Not necessarily worth the price. They have around 8 flavors to choose from in the shop. The princess pink cupcake was the best out of the ones that I have tried. Also all the frosting/​icing taste the same.

I had high expectations going into this store since I heard many great things about GiGis. But the cupcakes I bought were disgusting and had too much frosting. I wouldn’t recommend this cupcake store to anyone. The cake itself tastes dry and burnt. The presentation looked like it was home made. I’m sorry but GiGi’s was not worth my money at all.

Cupcakes are priced well for the area and cupcakes of the same kind.
People make reviews about the mounds of icing. If you want a cupcake that has flat icing go to krogers but this cupcake is not meant to be a clean eating cupcake you are suppose to get a little icing on your face. The key is to come early for moist cupcakes or get the cupcakes with the filling inside of them. Cookie dough cupcake was delicious that my wife and I had here. WIll be back for more.

Love the cupcakes at Gigi’s! The bakery itself is so cute with tons of flavors, and they offer gluten-​free options too. The cupcakes here are really one of a kind, they are the only place that I know of that makes the CANDY BAR CRUNCH made with Butterfingers! I am a Butterfinger fiend… I put pieces of Butterfinger in my ice-​cream, I buy Butterfinger bars when I’m at CVS, I buy Butterfinger BBs at the movies, so needless to say this flavor excites me!
My one gripe at Gigi’s is that they don’t offer minis for sale individually, you do have to buy a dozen. Sometimes I can’t eat a dozen, so this is no good!

I think the cupcakes need more frosting…
Kidding. The amount of frosting on one alone is enough to coat 3 more and induce a sugar coma. I am a huge fan of the Gigi’s Cupcakes in Dallas, but for some reason this location just did not measure up. The cakes were drier, the frosting was thicker and grittier, the selection was limited, and the store was overall less peppy. All this might be due to the fact that they are still relatively new, but for now, I will be satisfying my sweet tooth elsewhere.
