First, service was horrible. And I’m Korean so usually Korean people get better service. Lady barely looked at me. I wanted the couple combo and she said we can’t do that now.(Sushi chef was apologetic but not her) The lady who gave me the food was also extremely rude, no eye contact, hate their job kind of sort. I know that a job as a food court cashier isn’t fun and all but you ain’t gonna get any business with an attitude like that. Food was horrible. I got the volcano roll and spicy tuna roll. I judge a sushi place by its spicy tuna. Theirs is prolly the worst I’ve had in a while. Worse than an all you can eat sushi buffet. It smelled and you can taste the not fresh trying to cover it up with spices flavor. To be fair the sashimi salad was good and fish cake soup was okay. I basically ate one spicy tuna and threw the rest away.(Volcano is basically spicy tuna filling on top of California roll) I’d never return here. I can’t trust the quality and I’d rather take my business somewhere where they actually care. If you are at Hmart please go eat at tore chicken/dumping place. SO much better.

I’ve eaten at Fish 153 many times over the years, and i’m pretty shocked that I haven’t written a review for it, because it’s been one of the more reliable and consistent places in the area. On this visit I got the Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box($ 6.99), which came with a nice serving of chicken, steamed white rice, Miso soup, a salad with ginger dressing, and typically shrimp accompanies this meal, but because i’m allergic, they were more than happy to switch out my shrimp with Tempura veggies(i.e. battered and deep fried) and a couple of chicken nuggets The teriyaki chicken was fairly juicy with a sauce that wasn’t too sweet, and went very well with the rice. I can’t even tell you the veggies I ate, because they were sliced and fried, although the big potato puff I ate was kinda delicious! Wasn’t too much of a fan of the miso soup but their salad was decent. Nothing special, just decent. While i’m on the subject, honorable mention should go to their Pork Tonkatsu bento($ 6.99 also), as it’s a very tasty, crispy and large portion of meat as well, that you can get with or without gravy on it. Located in the H-Mart, immediately to your right when you walk in, Fish 153 is the first restaurant you pass in the fairly decent sized food court in H-mart. You might think that with a name like Fish 153, that Sushi and seafood is all they serve. While they do serve sushi, and lots of it, there are dishes for the non-seafood eaters like myself. Customer service was friendly and accommodating, and while there are only a few tables in front of Fish 153, there’s plenty in the general food court, so I don’t think you’ll have troubles. The same goes for parking, since this is a H-Mart lot. Who can beat quality food that’s cheap and consistently good? When you find out, let me know. Until then, i’ll be at Fish 153.

Average sushi from a kiosk in the Super H Mart. I have had bigger and better rolls. They are a decent value and they do offer some pretty good party options.

What the heck?! I can’t believe I haven’t wrote a review for this AWESOME restaurant!!! This place is really really AWESOME! The owner makes the best sushi and rolls! The sashimi(raw fish) is pretty good for a indoor restaurant inside of H-Mart! It’s amazingly pretty fresh! If you haven’t tried this place out, then what are you waiting for?! Come here and try out their awesome udon combos! I ordered the udon + California roll combo($ 5.99)! What a deal! That is so weird! I really really thought I wrote a review for this place… apparently not. but now I did! I want to try everything next time! Yummy! I also like to get their sushi bento which is delicious, too! Food I have already tried and enjoyed: Sushi bento —($ 9.99) All bento come with miso soup. Sashimi bento Tonkatsu bento —($ 6.99) Udon + California Roll combo —($ 5.99) Udon + Fish katsu(fried fish just like the pork katsu but fish) —($ 5.99) ***Tip: Sometimes in evening at around 8-ish pm, the owner will have sale on his rolls! Every time I want to eat either udon or sushi, then this is the place I always want to go and eat my udon and sushi!

I’ll start by saying I love this place. It’s a unique Japanese-owned restaurant inside H-Mart, but it’s so good it’s prevented me from trying other restaurants in their food court because I crave it every time I go. Here are some of my favorite things from there: — Curry Tonkatsu– this is my go-to always when I come here. The amount & quality of the meal is extremely generous & delicious for the price, extremely. The curry is completely unique from any I’ve had including all Indian & Thai curries. The tonkatsu itself is perfectly cooked, & the sides come with rice & a salad, which is accompanied by a special ginger dressing & pickled pink cabbage. Sweet, savory, hot, cold, crunchy, soft — every element is perfectly proportioned & calculated, not to mention the rice is sticky — my favorite. — Udon — Their udon is absolutely amazing. The noodles are cooked perfectly. It is another of my favorite meals to get there, & once again the quality & amount of food they give greatly overshadows the price. — Sushi — Just a few of my favorites: Volcano Roll, Philadelphia Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, & the fried California Roll are just a few of my favorites, but honestly you can’t go wrong with any of their options. — Sashimi salad — This. is. a. massive. salad. So incredibly fresh. — The owner is awesome with his signature tall chef hat he always wears; I love the Japanese culture he brings to H-Mart. Even though there may be a small language barrier where they once got my order wrong, they offered to make up for it with a free meal & apologized profusely. This place is great & I stop by almost every time I’m in H-Mart.

You will see the words California Roll & Sushi before seeing Fish 153 in very small letters. The food was decent imo. The bf ordered the sushi bento while I went for the rainbow roll. His sushi bento came with miso soup which was somewhat watered down. The bento box had the typical California roll, six sashimi pieces, tempura pieces, a mini salad, and pickled and radishes. My rainbow roll was decent. There isn’t really anything too good or awful to mention. It seems like people to go more than eat at the food court. Fish 153 is located inside Hmart btw.

I really enjoyed the food and the price. My kids had a bento box and my husband had the soup they really enjoyed their food. I ordered the volcano roll it was a bit spicy and it was different from other volcano rolls I have tried. Their Philly and California roll were great. I would come again with out a doubt.

My elusive search for good sushi around Lawrenceville may have come to an end… and I found it on a food court out of all places! Say what? Yes, I feel weird saying the best sushi so far is here. I almost feel ashamed to say so, but it is true. The place is small and unassuming, but don’t let that fool you. I ordered some california rolls, volcano rolls and some fried shrimp rolls to be on the safe side. The rice is key and as others have said, this place has it packed down to a science. The volcano rolls had the right ration of spicy mayo to the actual sushi. The spicy mayo complimented the sushi and did not mask its flavor. The ship rolls were light and did not feel greasy. They are also very generous with the ginger although I wished they supplied a bit more wasabi. This is the place I will be returning to.

I know what you are thinking. Food court sushi? Gross! For the price and quality, this place is amazing! I have been a loyal customer for years. There are so many different type of specials from bento boxes to udon to sushi/sashimi to their fish fry all under $ 10. My absolute favorite are the bento boxes, sushi rolls, and the sashimi salad/fish fry special. All of his sauces are home made. This includes the Korean red paste and even his tartar sauce. A lot of bang for your buck! The only flaw is sometimes service is a bit slow, but I rather wait for a good meal than be served a short horrible fast meal. Even though you do not need to tip, they are hard working people :)

New local favorite! Love the prices and my 9 year old says he wants to go there daily for the rainbow and eel rolls. Come get your sushi then shop for the cheap fruit & veg at the Super H. Can’t wait to return and try other menu items.

It is all about the rice. I have to come to believe that while the quality of the fish should be the most important concern with sushi that the way in which the rice is prepared is not always, but should be a concern. The chef here does a pretty good job and for a spot in a in a H-mart they offer some pretty rocking bento boxes!

Udon + California roll $ 4.99. Both excellent. How do they do that for this price? Udon had good beefy flavor with perfect noodles. Also got an Alaska(salmon) roll and eel sushi. Both ok, and more normally priced. Located just inside door in the h Mart along with about 8 other food stands. Quick service. Don’t normally get out to this part of town, but will make fish 153 a stop when in area.

When we think of tasty and quality food, food court restaurants don’t always come to our mind first. But my recent experiences in food courts of Great wall(Ping’s place), china town and Assi has brought my attention to these small businesses and now I’m always in hunt for good and cheap food court restaurants. That’s how we ended up at Fish 153. Fish 153 is located inside the H-Mart in Lawrenceville-Suwanee rd. The H-mart is in next complex from the one that has Umaido, one of my favorite Ramen noodle place. Once you enter the H-Mart, fish 153 is the first food stall on your right. Same routine — find what you like, place the order, pay and wait for them to call you. They have several tables in front of the stall. The kitchen was very clean and full of nice pictures of food and prices. Food here is cheap and that’s one of the attraction. But not only it was cheap, but tasty too. They have rolls, nigiri sushi, Udons, katsus, curry, noodles and bento boxes. They also have party platter with 50 pieces of nigiri sushi for only $ 60, they have similar platters for sashimi, combination platter, rolls, katsus and meal boxes. We ordered, 1) Tempura Udon($ 6.99) 2) Tonkatsu bento($ 6.99) 3) rainbow roll($ 6.99) 4) Alaskan Roll($ 7.99) Tempura Udon was our favorite dish of all the we have ordered. It was served in a very hot cast-iron bowl(Be careful) and it had two pieces of Shrimp tempura, fried fish cake, imitation crab stick as well. The broth was flavorful and on par with some of the best we have tried from other restaurants. And all for just $ 6.99? That’s a steal, people! Tonkatsu Bento had 4 pieces of tempura, some salad, rice, fish balls(?) and of course, Tonkatsu. While I liked it, I didn’t think it was the best I have had. But my partner disagreed and he loved it. Regardless, this is a winner considering how much you get for cheap price of $ 6.99. I usually order Rainbow roll just to test waters — to taste the fish they use and to decided if I would want to nigiri sushi from that place or not. And again, they didn’t disappoint here at Fish 153. While I thought the rice could use touch more vinegar, I liked it over all. Tuna and salmon was good and tasty. And at $ 6.99, this has to be the cheapest rainbow roll I have ever had. Alaskan roll was just the salmon roll or think of it as rainbow roll exclusively with salmon on top. It was again good, but I prefer rainbow roll better. Nothing to brag about here. Also, they have rolls to-go in their sales section for a dollar or two cheap. Overall, we came back home impressed and without much of a hole in our wallet. If you live around this neighborhood, it definitely worth going here for some cheap udon or rolls. 4 stars.

This is the«California Roll & Sushi» in the food court of Suwanee Hmart. I come here quite often to order tonkatsu and it is just fantastic. A meal is only about 8 dollars and it fills you right up. If you order rolls and sushi, you can see it being made on the spot. There may be no fancy atmosphere but this is a place you can get quality food for less

I would give this place a 5 star rating purely based on the price-to-taste ratio, but it just feels strange giving top rating to a food court place. It’s nevertheless a 4.5 star, because the food is great and price is outrageously great, so I’ll round it up to a 5. I had been here a few times in the past and thought food was good, but that was on their sushi and rolls. My first time back in couple of years, and noticed they expanded their menu to katsus, udons, and bento boxes. We ordered an oden udon and a spicy don katsu, $ 4.95& $ 7.99, respectively. Regular katsu was $ 6.99 but spicy is new on katsu so we decided to give it a whirl. The udon came in an iron hot pot, giving it an authentic feel. The taste? Probably the best udon we have had since the place in Hannam Chain in L.A., at least that I can recall. Hannam Chain(the resto’s name escapes me) udon is in a class by itself, so this is a high compliment. And lots of oden in the udon so that was another big plus. All that for $ 4.95! There are two types of katsus in my mind. The lighter, crisper type a la Wako, and the thinner meat, heavier but crispy breading a la Ktown Plaza’s food court place(again the name!). Here it is the second type as most places are, and it’s very good. The meat is of high quality, no smell and not dried out but perfectly cooked. And the crust is proper crispy and not oily. It comes with rice, salad(good dressing!), and miso soup. The spice was some type of hot chili sauce sweetened, and was great, but I wouldn’t pay extra $ 1for it. Might be worth trying once though, it is interesting and quite good. Another great deal we didn’t have is a katsu and California roll combo for $ 6.99. Really? How do they make money? Want to try that next time… Honestly, if all food court foods tasted like this no one would need to pay more for sit down places and pay tips, higher prices, etc. This place really is the standard for which all food court stations should strive for. Table-for-1 factor: It’s food court.

Here’s the thing about Fish153, some days you go in there and get an awesome, knock-out lunch for under $ 10. Sometimes you go in there and wish you never went. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes to get your food, and other times you stare at the counter for 30 minutes wondering if they forgot your order. Last week I went and got an awesome tempura bento which was filling, great tasting and only $ 7. Tempura was crisp and fresh and the bento included salad, four pieces of California Roll, assorted croquette, hot dog, edamame, and a bowl of miso soup. All straight to the table in under 30 minutes. Today I went and got a disappointing $ 10 sushi bento with all the same things but six pieces of nigiri swapped for the tempura. Unfortunately, some of the nigiri was downright gross. Too fishy tasting, rubbery, dull, etc. The croquette was cold and the edamame was close to freezing. It took them 30 minutes to deliver it to me. That being said, I don’t think I could recommend this restaurant to a friend. I might take my chances and dine here every now and then, but I couldn’t risk telling someone that it’s great and then hear they had a horrible experience. If there’s one thing that consistently saves Fish 153, it’s the California Roll. I don’t know what they do to it, but they’ve got that down pat.(And I’m not a fan of CA Roll!) All things considered, Fish153 is okay. When it’s good, man, it’s good. When it’s bad, it’s bad.
