If you’re in the mood for hairy chicken wings, you’ve gone to the right place! Your wings won’t only come with blue cheese but with long white hairs busting out from under the breading. Disgusted is an understatement. The customer service was as good as the wings. The manager, Edgar, offered us only 50% off the check after saying, and I quote, «at least is wasn’t human hair.» Our entire table left feeling sick to our stomachs, in fact, I’m gagging while writing this.

Great place! Great bartenders(Josh and Sarah). Bread basket had warm, soft pretzels with honey mustard sauce. Boneless buffalo chicken was really good but you have to order the chicken tender with buffalo sauce. We will def be back!

So happy that this location has reopened with a refurnished interior and eager new staff. Formerly this was Mim’s of Syosset which was a middling pub-style dining option. Under this new configuration it seems like they have bought in a new chef(yippee) and décor(really nice). I have dined there 3 times lately and found the staff attentive and the food cooked the way it was ordered. One small quibble was the noise level on a Friday nite. The loud music added nothing to the evening except to cause our party to have to shout at each other. So if that is an issue when you dine, stay away from weekend dining there.

Like others mentioned, service is awful. Came here for brunch and while the food was decent, the waiter was inattentive and rude.

Seemed like a nice cozy suburban neighborhood spot. Pluses of this place is that there is parking lot with ample parking and the hostess is also very warm and prompt. Wish I could say it got better and better from there but sadly no. Restaurant was not at all filled to capacity in any way so can’t understand why service was so poor. They have a blackened salmon and shrimp combo and we asked if the salmon prep could be switched to the planked style instead and we would gladly pay extra, instead of first saying they can ask the kitchen, our waiter flat out says no… ummm Ok… Ordered our apps and and entrees. For starters we ordered the seared Tuna, a cob salad, the Buffalo chicken fondue and the rueben soup special. Everyone seemed happy with their apps but the Buffalo chicken was no way a fondue nor spicy at all to be considered anything remotely buffalo in any way. Asked for a bottle hot sauce 4 separate times before someone brought a half empty bottle of watered down tobasco to the table. Our entrees were again not bad. Have to have everything well done for the moment due to pregnancy so I asked for my skirt steak to be well done, I’ve never seen a steak so burned to a crisp before. Bitter and inedible I could only stomach 2 bites. Again asked for some horseradish on the side and again took 4 asks before they brought it over which by then my pathetic piece of steak was cold. Only redeeming quality was the complimentary cotton candy at the end. We couldn’t leave quick enough. No quality control, no consistency, mixed with a unhelpful and unresponsive wait and bussing staff, we definitely will not be returning.

We came for lunch to this restaurant we got off to a bad start. Had to wait for the person to seat us. let’s forgive them for that because we actually like this restaurant. But Mindy is not happy. I should let the readers know that with our waiter it did not matter how we ordered the food the waiter was going to give it to us the way he wanted. I asked lou if he had any feelings about his food. Lou says he has no feelings. I had the Salmon with the Thai glaze was really good. The salad was enough for two people so Mindy and I split one. Mindys broccoli was cold but I didn’t care. Marjorie has a lot of feelings but she doesn’t want to share. Mindy finds the waiter very annoying. Ok the food is good the service was awkward 3 stars for the food no stars for the dopey waiter but I’ll probably give him a tip. Maybe next time take the food to go?

Some places are just 3 star places. Nothing overly special about Grillfire but nothing drastically terrible. The food was average at best. The Buffalo Chicken Fondue sounds great but was really a disappointment. The wings were a good fried chicken wing, just don’t use the buffalo sauce provided(yuck). The service from the host and the waiter were pretty crappy, but the super attentive busboy made up for their subpar service. Will we be back? Probably not for food. The drinks were made good though so maybe for a quick drink. If you are looking to go out, there are much better places out there.

My wife and I have eaten dinner here a few times in the last year and have taken our kids here for special occasions(end of school, birthdays, etc). The food is usually pretty good. I typically get steak of some kind– it’s not steak house steak but it’s good. We went last Friday for a late Valentines celebration dinner. Again, good food and good cocktails. Every table around us received a red envelope when paying their check. We heard the wait staff tell people not to open it– some kind of discount or incentive was inside and when you come back the next time, they’ll open it and you get whatever is inside your envelope. I love promotions like that. I hate waiting for surprises so I was ready to go back this weekend and find out what we «won». Unfortunately, we were the only table in our section who did not receive a special red envelope. We even waited a few minutes after the waiter took our check, hoping he would come back and gift us– didn’t happen! Even though I wasn’t expecting a little gift at the start of our dinner, it was pretty disappointing to watch 6 tables around us get one and be the only table not to. Not sure why, maybe just an oversight, but it’s sticking with me and I’m in no rush to go back now.

Our girls from work happy hour spot… Jackie at the bar takes great care of us… Great specials, ample bar to fit the whole gang and best of all… WARMPRETZELSWITHSPICYMUSTARD !!! Try the grapefruit jalapeño vodka with a splash of grapefruit juice… or their Sangria, which is delicious and packs a punch. Something for everyone on the menu… my favorite is the mango shrimp quesadilla or the roasted Brussel Sprouts… there really aren’t too many choice for food or drink in that immediate area so GM Grillfire is the perfect destination to meet a group or a date… you can’t go wrong.

I’ve been to the Bellmore location and decided to try this one. In traditional Grillfire fashion, they start you off with warm pretzels at the table. These are always good. But it starts to go down hill from here. I would say that the food is probably 3 stars — at best! The service is a 1 star on a good, slow day. I decided to average this out and give it an overall score of 2 stars. The food is nothing special… mediocre and not much flavor. French onion soup is not that hard to make but this seemed like they were confused with this one. It’s thick(not only the cheese) and over seasoned. The onion to broth ratio is a bit much. The Herb Roasted chicken is a chunk of chicken(half chicken), UN-seasoned with a heavy wine sauce just slathered on top. It reminded me of something a 12 year old who is just learning to cook would make to mask their undeveloped cooking skills. The service was essentially not there, mentally and physically. Had to ask several times for my ordered drink and the response would be «oh yeah, I’m getting it now» 15 minutes later…“oh yeah, I’m getting it now”. I think the 12 year old(mentioned above) could do a better job. I’m always amazed at the snootiness of hostesses too and this place contributed to that amazement. They are the first impression one gets at a restaurant. They should be friendly and welcome as guests enter their«house». Why would they act as if they were never taught any social skills? If you have a choice, go to the Bellmore location or just find a better place to eat.

Pricey. Slow service. Noisy. Too dark. Average décor. Plus one for free cotton candy. But it took more than 5 min for the waiter to get it even when most tables already left. Food took 25+ minutes to arrive. Ordered around 6:30pm food on table 6:59pm, for two burgers and a steak. Ordered burgers and steak medium rare. Kids burger: very very dry, no pink. Way way well done. Big burger: $ 14 for burger, add cheese $ 2, add bacon $ 2. For $ 18 burger, not. good. at. all. Again, over cooked, dry, not much flavor. The waiter forgot bacon so it only sets us back $ 16 plus tax and tips. I’m glad he did as I’d be nuts paying $ 18+ for that burger. Rib eye steak: ok we can say it’s medium rare, slightly over cooked to my taste but it’s personal preference. Too much sauce on top of the steak. for a $ 32 dollar steak, I can’t taste much of the beef. Overall, it’s been ruled out for any near term revisit. EDIT: Well I love how the manager of this restaurant replied a rare 5 star review and did not bother responding to the rest of the one, two, threes. Guess they have enough of business and couldn’t care less about their food and service quality?

The good: I really enjoyed the food here. I came here on a Monday night and had the $ 19.95 price fixe meal. What a great deal, you get a starter, an entrée, and a dessert. I had the flat iron steak which was phenomenal. It came with mashed sweet potatoes that were the best I’ve ever had. My brother really enjoyed the sole. We got the chocolate mousse for dessert which was standard. The service wasn’t bad either, but nothing to rave about. The bad: I had gotten drinks at the bar before for happy hour. The bartender had no clue what she was doing. The red sangria tasted awful, and I am really not picky. It tasted like it was sitting in a container for weeks. I would not come back here for the bar scene. Overall, I would come back for the food, but thats it!

So let me get this straight: you have an event going until 2am or whatever, but you stop serving food before 9pm — what kind of voodoo is this? We seriously walked in at 9 and they said they stopped serving food. This place has a great bar, one that needs to be utilized better. Have more events. Keep the kitchen open later on a weeknight. Promote and people will flock.

When I think of George Martin, I think of an experienced restaurateur who should have the important details figured out by now. This was not the case when we visited Grillfire in Syosset. When we arrived we told them this was a special occasion, yet we were ushered into the back room where there are too many tables for the amount of space and it was uncomfortably crowded. They seriously need to pull one table out of the middle to make it an enjoyable dining experience for everyone. We asked about a booth and were told that we didn’t have a reservation, but when we called ahead they said they don’t take reservations for three. After feeling very unhappy about the table we asked again about a booth and finally we were moved, much to the relief of ourselves and everyone around us. The soft, warm pretzels and German mustard instead of a bread bowl was a nice starting touch(see picture). The pretzels are salty but not too salty and the mustard is perfect. That’s where this happy story ends for a while. My son ordered the Miniskirt skirt steak sandwich with Mozzarella and crispy onions(see picture). Clearly the steak was never allowed to rest before cutting. He ordered it medium and yet blood(NOT juices) were just soaking the bun. I tried it and there was very little in the way of flavor. The cheese was fine but the crispy onions lost all semblance of form as they got soaked in the un-rested meat blood. To top it off, the so-called cottage fries were a disaster. Not hot and not crispy. It was like a too-thick potato chip left in the grease too long. Ugh. I ordered the chicken fajitas. It comes on two platters; One cast iron sizzling as fajitas should be served, and the accessories on another plate(see pictures). The first problem is the fajita plate is like playing a game of ‘Find the Chicken”. The slices of chicken are just buried in a mountain of onions with some peppers thrown in for good measure. On the accessories plate there is not enough cheese, not enough sour cream and there are only 3 little tortillas. I had to ask for more tortillas and more sour cream to finish the meal. The flavor was ok, but digging through the onion pile to find the chicken was messy and inconvenient. For dessert we shared the warm brownie sundae(see picture). Finally they came back to the standards I would expect form George Martin. There was plenty of brownies, nice ice cream and plenty of whipped cream. We are disappointed and we will not be going back. As anyone can see from my ratings history I do not pass out two star ratings lightly. I doubt we will venture into any other George Martin restaurants as a result of our experience.

The setting since the last restaurant has changed wasn’t too large. They give 2 pretzels for a starter. We ordered from pre fixed menu. Portions were adequate for an adult. The drinks were adequate. The salads even small were plentiful. this place offers outside seating on the main rd. We opted inside in case someone didn’t stay on rd. Waitress was delightful and think she was from some down south state with great southern hospitality.

The best part of the meal was the soft pretzels in the bread basket. The place is a bit noisy, the acoustics just aren’t right here — its been bar after bar after bar… this is the biggest change since the 90’s. My husband and I usually share an app and share an entrée as well. We ordered the mandarin noodle salad, which was a big disappointment. Bland dressing over a pile of not so crunchy cabbage(how do you achieve that?) there were oranges and peanuts but the flavors were missing, as if the salads were made ahead and refrigerated until the flavor all ran out. We also had the sloppy Joe quesadilla app, which sound like something I’d like to eat every day, but again, bland… I was seriously starting to think my taste buds had taken the day off. Then our main course came, which THEY split onto two plates, nice of them, But I like to share our uneven shares myself… this was delicious. Made me forget the uneated salad and the boring quesadilla. The«Fancy Skirt» with the balsamic glazed cipollini onions, baby spinach and maybe a tad too much goat cheese was delicious, when you shoveled everything off it. If I return, I’ll get the plain old«GF Marinated Skirt Steak» Not an unpleasant evening, but a disappointment in apps.

4.5 stars if I could for this location(compared to RVC, thought the service was slow initially and not a fan of this tiny parking lot that always seems to be packed). We saw a sign for happy hour once we sat down(4−7pm), so we asked if we could move to the bar area for the specials. They would have preferred if we sat at the actual bar but they let us sit at the high tables since the bar was full at the time, which was really nice. Happy hour specials were great. We did a 2 for 1 Grillfire Pillsner(which came out to $ 6 total), and select food appetizers were $ 5 each. The appetizers I chose were pop shrimp & mango quesadillas, and fried chicken buffalo wings. Didn’t love the wings, thought they were plain(however, I was happy they put the buffalo sauce on the side so it wasn’t soaked in the sauce /too spicy). I was a HUGEFAN of the pop shrimp+mango– so much flavor and I was surprised how much I liked the mango. We also got an appetizer — burratta mozzarella cheese which was so creamy and delicious(kinda dumb price-wise when you’re paying $ 12 for a cheese appetizer but $ 5 for your«meal» lol). Service was really slow while we were waiting to put our order in(since we were the only table not at the bar /not in the restaurant section), but service improved as the meal went on with our server checking in on us. Something unique to grillfire(I assume) was they give a pretzel with mustard dip(rather than a bread basket) when you place your order, and cotton candy for dessert when you get your check. Love a place that’ll mix t up a bit! Their regular dinner prices seemed over-priced in my opinion, lots of 20 – 30 $ entrees. I’m surprised that I really liked more of their appetizer dishes moreso than their entrees, anyway. However, for their happy hour deal, and brunch(which I did at their RVC location), I really like this place and recommend it.

My low rating is strictly based on the restaurant’s food and service which were way below par with what I usually have in an American cuisine type restaurant. Food was bland with no tastes and the waiters would forget my requests. Will never be back!

Located in North Syosset has a small parking lots one on each side of the little strip of stores so if you dont get in the first drive to the end go in the second very welcoming staff greeted us at the door front has a few tables and its noisy bar with TVS we sat in the back its a little dark but in a warm friendly way there are booths and tables we were seated and given a basket of 2 hot pretzels with deli mustard yum! we ordered only water and nice perk! we were given a carafe of ice cold water spinach and artichoke dip looked great in its big crock it was bubbly hot served with mulitcolor chips sadly some of the chips were stale quinia veggie burger was ok came with a choice of toppings it was ok served on a big multigrain bun it was ok not stunning but ok round fries were served in a metal cup they were ok not great but ok after the meal we were served warm fresh pink cotton candy and it was just perfect(I love cotton candy) service is great and the little extras were great and its a great atmosphere just wish the burger and dip had been a better menu has pastas and salads and entrees such as chicken I think I will return to try something else
