Pretty good restaurant, but I probably wouldn’t come here without a coupon. It’s got nice ambiance, and the outdoor seating is pretty nice, but I think the prices are a bit on the high side, especially on the drink menu. I’m glad they post drink prices, but it’s $ 10 for just about everything. The food is more reasonable, but the quality isn’t the highest. The chips and salsa were great, as was the service, and the food was very tasty — just not the highest quality. I had the two enchiladas and steak, which at $ 14 was pretty reasonable. The steak, however, was just a skirt steak. Definitely not tender, and there wasn’t an option on how to have it cooked. It was very flavorful and I enjoyed it, but I wished for a somewhat nicer cut of meat. The enchiladas were not soggy(first test for any enchilada) and the pasilla and chipotle sauces were quite tasty, but the cheese inside wasn’t warm or soft. It may have been some fancy cheese, but I was a bit indifferent toward it. The«side salad» is really a small bed of lettuce with two mini-slices of tomato and two mini-slices of avocado. The cornbread was very good. My wife had grilled shrimp(8) with a garlic butter sauce. She really enjoyed them. Grilled right, and tasty, but seemed slightly high with rice and«side salad» at $ 14. Definitely a nice dinner, but with some reservations!

Centro has some KICKIN food! Thumbs up on the top shelf guacamole, taquitos carnitas, centro party platter, stuffed shrimp& jalapeño ! Mmmmm Probably not the real authentic Mexican food but awesome tex-mex! And after 10 this place turns into a FIESTA! It def. has its regulars but welcomes newbies… Great place for sports watching also. Come check it out.

I have lived in Dallas for less than a month and I have already been to Centro three times. I’m definitely a fan. Can’t wait until it gets warmer to sit on their super cool patio area. I love their thin chips and salsa. It’s super hard to only eat just 1 bowl of their chips and salsa. So far I have tried the fajita tacos and regular fajitas. Both have been absolutely delicious. The regular beef and chicken have my vote though hands down. I highly recommend you try. Personally, I haven’t had one of the magaritas but my mom has had 2 and said they are«very smooth.» She gets it with the Don Julio tequila. She recommends the magaritas. But come thirsty. The magaritas are sizable. Glad I’m not a fan of magaritas since this place is within walking distance. :) Overall, I definitely recommend. They have a really cool vibe and atmosphere. Can’t wait to see what the patio is like in the summer!

We went to Centro awhile back to watch a Texas Longhorn game because it is one of the few bars that have the Longhorn channel. Maybe it was because we were there for 4 hours, but the service was extremely poor. Our server checked on us only if we flagged him down for a drink refill. After he got my friend’s order wrong, he blamed it on him for ordering incorrectly, even though when we ordered, the waiter asked for clarification and my friend repeated his order TWICE. My friend didn’t even make any modifications, it was just something straight off the menu! The only redeeming item was their quasadillas. The tortilla they use is crunchy and gave the steak quesadillas some texture. It was really good and one of the best quesadillas I’ve had; however, the horrible service makes me weary to return.

Finally went here for lunch. We got right in, had a friendly server and didn’t wait forever for our orders. The food, from the chips and salsa to the enchilada entrees, were yummy. I liked the décor and the rest of the set up; I bet the patio is great on «patio weather» days. If they allow smoking I didn’t notice it but that would make me think twice about sitting inside. Based on this experience I’d definitely go again. I saw a few other dishes I’d like to try but it’ll be hard not to order the enchiladas again.

Growing in a Mexican household has molded me into somewhat of a Mexican Food Snob. This is not Mexican Food. It’s Tex-Mex but it’s not bad! I was immediately impressed with our guacamole appetizer. The waiter came right to our table and cut up the avocado in front of us in a fancy«molcajete». The guacamole was great with just the right amount of lime juice. Service was below average. I went most of the night without water! My fajitas was very soft although I feel the portion could have been a bit better. Extra points because they were kind enough to provide my girlfriend with a lovely vegetarian alternative. I would not mind coming back, especially with their groupon offer.

Went to Centro after church with my adult family to use a Groupon coupon. We got there about 12:30. There was about 12 people eating in the place. The décor is o.k. The lighting level is too low for daytime casual eating. They were running a Sunday brunch buffet, that looked o.k. Half the patrons 6 or 8 had this. I didn’t see many going back for seconds on the brunch. The salsa is nice and the chips seem fresh, clean, and thin. We ordered various tacos, some chicken enchiladas, and a chicken fajita salad. The biggest issue was that the service(kitchen) was slow, and they weren’t busy. The waiter was doing an adequate job during the meal, and checked on us several times. The kitchen took a long time to get us the food. It came out piping hot on heated plates. The food was o.k. Nothing spectacular. The taco meat in the chicken and beef tacos was seasoned well, but the rest of the taco fell flat. They used a great tasting homemade tortilla, and put adequate amount of chicken in it. The tacos were stuffed with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, and a little shredded cheese, There wasn’t much flavor in this part of the taco. The chicken fajita salad was large, and had an ample amount of meat on it for anybody. It came with a semi sweet thin dressing on the side. At the end of our meal we gave the waiter the credit card, and he was gone for nearly ten minutes, doing what? I can go other places that cost less, with better atmosphere, and service.

Centro has a great patio right in the heart of Austin Ranch. I came up here for St. Patty’s Day with some friends and enjoyed the cooperative weather and $ 1 beers. They don’t always have their act together as far as waitstaff is concerned but eventually the service comes together. The brisket tacos are good and hit the spot every time I get them.

I went to this place one evening to meet up with an old friend from college, and I had a great time. Who could ever complain about a Negro Modelo and chips and guacamole? For dinner I got the Spinach salad — and love that they put cactus in it. You don’t see that in just any Mexican restaurant north of the border! The place turned into a club around 10PM. A DJ started mixing and pumped the music way up. It seemed like the place to be for being in The Colony on a Wednesday evening. I so wish we could have stayed longer!

Update — Centro will no longer accept the gift certificate —(even though you can still purchase them online!) Took some of my employees here last night and was hoping to keep it under budget by using the gift certificate. I was really dissapointed to see the big sign on the door saying they wouldnt accept it. especially since I had just bought it! The food was fine. we shared several appetizer plates. The flautas and quesadillas were very good and the Tuesday margarita special(2.50) is a great deal. The waiter was friendly and he was very nice about seperating out the tickets for our drinks. Im taking away a star because of the coupon mess though… it really frustrated me and it will most likely be a long time before I go back.

Came here after a relaxing afternoon spent at the Austin Ranch pool with the girls. Great ambiance inside and out. Beautiful patio with modern outdoor furniture. Love the neon green chairs outside. The chips and salsa were fresh, esp loved the salsa it was nice & hot. Loved the brisket tacos. Guacamole made fresh right in front of you. Yum.

Impressed. One of the better Tex Mex places that I’ve been to with really good quality food and fresh. I had a $ 10 coupon and there were hardly any tables, at the most 2 – 3 on a Sunday afternoon at a new chic residential area like Austin Ranch. I admit, I expected more people than this so it didn’t look good. I was thinking let’s just get something worth $ 20, use the coupon and go home. I was surprised. Wow. Even my boyfriend agreed and he can be picky. At first the décor was very uptown chic like which was a delight, but the purple chairs kind of threw me off. First of all chips and salsa were awesome. The salsa was fresh like as if they JUST made it. You could taste every onion, cilantro, lime in every bite with a touch of spice. We ordered the Centro party platter for the appetizer. The eggrolls were good and also the quesadillas were to die for. I don’t know how they made the tortilla but it was crispy and yet it melted in my mouth at the same time. Nachos weren’t bad. Not much of a fan of jalapenos. We were almost full by then, but we still managed to take some bites of the entrée Carne Asada y Camarones which was to die for. The meat was so tender and the sauce was amazing. Too bad I was already getting full from the previous dish. Definitely will get some more coupons.

Centro is awesome. As a resident of Austin Ranch, I’m grateful that we have a good Tex-Mex place right here in our backyard. The atmosphere is great, the inside is decorated nicely, and on these spring days the wrap-around patio with the lime green booths is a great place to have your lunch. I usually go at lunch. They have $ 5 lunch burritos.(Get it with ground beef and queso on top. Yum yum.) At dinner, try the Enchiladas Chipotle… mmm, that chipotle wine sauce is outstanding, and the sweet Mexican corn bread it is served with is unique and tasty. Highly recommend.

A great restaurant located within the Austin Ranch community. I came here for lunch, and it was not that busy. From what I heard it gets a lot busier during the night. Great portion sizes from their lunch menu. The chips and salsa are great. They also have top shelf guacamole here, which is always a plus. Comes out to a great deal when you use their coupon

We live in Austin ranch and have stopped in Centro a few times. every time I’m disappointed more. horrible service!!! there is really never anyone there– maybe 1 or 2 other tables any any given time yet for some reason your food does not come out hot nor do you have your drinks refilled in a timely manner. Tuesday is $ 2 margaritas – save your two bucks and go somewhere else. they are so sour and have little to no alcohol in them. and if you try to talk to a manager they will get quite nasty with you. i tried to pay my tab and the server left with my card for a total of 20 minutes before returning and there were only 2 other people in the whole restaurant. upon my complaint the manager offered to pay for a portion of my bill but once i looked on my bank statement i noticed i have been charged twice. i tried to contact the manager and he was not friendly at all. he yelled at me and basically called me a liar even though I’m looking at my account statement. NEVER will i EVER go back.

A buddy of mine recommended this place and I met him there earlier this week to try it out. Lunch is probably the best time to go because its relatively empty and at night it becomes more of a bar than a restaurant I’m told. Also, they have some $ 5 — 7 lunch specials that are generously portioned. The service was acceptable; seated promptly and my drink was never empty. I ordered the guacamole and they made it right there at the table. I also had the chili relleno which was good. Overall, I thought it wasn’t too bad of a place to eat and would go there again.

My wife and I live in the neighborhood right behind Austin Ranch and have made this our local mexican restaurant. Tuesday night is a great night to go, as they have $ 2 margaritas all night. Granted, it definitely draws some of the Austin Ranch crowd, which at times can be less than appealing, but it doesn’t keep us from going. First of all, the atmosphere is great. Well decorated, trendy dining area. Good table set up and good patio area. As far as the food, overall everything has been good. We had the beef fajitas last week and I thought they had really good flavor. The queso was just okay, sort of tasted like canned cheese queso that you get at the ballpark. The stuffed jalapenos were decent, although again, tasted sort of like they were frozen and just thrown in the fryer. The menu is a little random for me, it has a smaller selection of tex-mex dishes than most mexican restaurants do, which I honestly think could be a good thing if done right. But then they throw a bunch of american dishes on there to fill the menu up, cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, etc. Just doesn’t seem to fit. Especially because the interior gives it a look as sort of a chic mexican restaurant. I personally am going to go to eat mexican food. As a whole, I think this place is worth going to and worth going back to. I know that we will.
